    Hake! Delicious.

5 stars across the board! Service was impeccable. Sat outside and our server made sure we were dry on a drizzly night. Great view to take in the cute neighborhood and city streets. fantastic recommendations, and note worthy bites from the kitchen. We shared a little bit of everything, and though we didn't take pictures of every item, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Hats off to the culinary crew and staff for an exquisite experience.

$80 set for two people steak

You must make the reservation before you come. They are always busy. Almost every table ordered their signature steak. Its a $80 set for two people. I love the steak, cooked just the right time. They have a large drinking menu. Service is A+, the manager is so kind to all the guests, try his best to fulfill everyone's needs.

Most exciting British food in London. This intimate and charming spot serves up some innovative dishes at very reasonable prices. The cocktail and wine menu is also a good value packing a lot of flavor. Cornish crab with bbq'ed cucumber (5/5) - very light and refreshing crab meat well balanced with vegetables Whipped cod roe on bread (5/5) - this is more decadent in flavor than foie gras but without feeling as heavy! Ox heart with red cabbage (5/5) - very tasty and not very heavy Duck with blood orange and rhubarb (4/5) - well cooked but just didn't stand out in flavor as too different from many other duck dishes I've had Service was point and friendly. They politely asked us to move to bar to finish drinks when we got to 2 hours limit. I thought the overall place was well run and I can't wait to come back again.

Before we had the steak I was going to rate 4 stars for all the dishes we had. However, the steak was burnt and it was a big disappointment since the manager strongly recommended this dish. From the picture, the steak looks very good but the it was burnt outside. We had to cut the parts w/black because it was NOT eatable. Inside was ok, not good not bad. I don't recommend the steaks and it was totally overpriced, $88 per course. I meant there were a lot of meat but food itself I didn't like.

Wow wow, so glad we decided to dine here. The food was the most outstanding I've had all week in London. Our waitress was really good and explained dishes very well. For starters the chicken liver pâte was delicious as was the welsch rarebit. The potato side was the best crispiest potatoes with perfect salt. Salsa verde pesto type sauce on the broccoli side was so good, I mopped it up with the potato. Entrees were a nice portion and not heavy which was nice. Desserts were outstanding- brown butter ice cream & also thefresh strawberries. So so delicious! Everything came with garnishes and sauces or crispy additions that really made the dishes shine. This place is a must and is curated well also. Will always go back when visiting!

Myself and the owners of Kitty Fisher's, Oliver and Tim! Cheers guys!

Oh yeah! Americans…read morefrom California here. Who would've known that mashed potatoes, sausages, and gravy would go so well together! Loved every bite. Got the gravy on the side, didn't think I'd use all of it, before I knew it, it was all gone. And you wouldn't think that the type of mash or type of gravy or type of sausage would matter that much, but they really do all have distinct flavors! I will be mixing mustard into my mashed potatoes from now on. Originally came for the sticky toffee pudding, so of course we ended with that. Marvelous! The toffee sauce is so comforting and rich, the cake was so moist, and it was perfectly balanced with the ice cream. Didn't detect any dates, maybe they were too finely chopped. Also the apple and blackberry crumble just didn't hit the same; it was slightly dry and on the sour side (maybe don't take a bite directly after the pudding!) Service was so helpful and friendly; I'm sure they love watching people fall in love with their food. Quick with refills and offered extra condiments if needed. Great air conditioning as well (always a plus), and I loved the green blacksplash and blackboard caligraphy on the walls as well. Bangin'

Ultimate London comfort food!…read more On a Saturday night around 7:30PM, the wait for a party of five was 45 minutes. The food was well worth the wait. The Steak and Blackheart Stout Pie was delicious. The steak was tender and the mash was smooth. Definitely get the Sticky Toffee Pudding. The pudding was sweet, soft, and warm, pairing perfectly with the silky pudding and cold vanilla ice cream.

We went to more than a dozen pubs while in London and the surrounding area on vacation recently so…read morewhile reviewing them, I'm trying to focus on what made each a distinct memory/experience for us. My wife actually booked dinner reservations in advance for Ye Old Cheshire Cheese, it was one of a few we did that for rather than just popping in. For some of these, Cheshire included, it isn't a bad idea if you want a full meal to do so as it gives you a table in a dining area that is quieter than the More raucous areas of the pub and guarantees you plenty of elbow room to dine. Every pub has fish and chips, and we had our share of it during our 8+ day trek, but my wife swears by this place as having the absolute best. I'd likely agree with that--we both had the traditional fish, chips, peas platter and every bite was great. We had a few slices of sourdough to hold us over while waiting for those plates. My wife had a bit of wine, and I tried a lager, lower ABV ale, and a pour of scotch opting for their "house" scotch. The spirits/beer menu was the same I saw used at a couple of what I think must be "sister" pubs all using the same distilleries and brewers. We were too full to try dessert. Service was friendly. Not sure if it was the vintage of my scotch or her wine, but price-wise this was by far our priciest pub visit in the area and I can't quite point my fingers at why, but I don't regret our meal and time here. As for historic interest, you can find pictures and placards of many of the pubs famous patrons from history--Dickens, Mark Twain on visits to London, etc. A first edition of a Dickens' book adorned a post by our table.

A really great way to try their variety of meats. First, the portion was absolutely huge - I definitely appreciated how much vegetables there were, the roasted brussels and carrots were delicious. Sides were all good - including the roasted potatoes and yorkshire pudding. The star was the meat of course, my favorite ended up being the lamb which was super tender and flavorful. Loved the crispy pork rind that comes with the pork roast slices and the gravy and sauces on the side really rounded out the meal, added a ton of flavor and made it fun to try the different sauces with the variety of meats.
