Food 8/10 Mochi Dumpling: LOVE. Absolutely a must get. It was not shaped the way that I was expecting, but it was super flavorful and textured, in a pleasantly surprising way. The combination of ingredients really blew me away. Arepas: Yummy but quite small, and I even liked the eggplant dip, even though I usually dislike thta vegetable. Crisped Pork Belly: Could be passed on, it was a little cold and too fatty without enough crisp. Cod: Too creamy sauce for me, but it was very tender. Dark Chocolate Sorbet: Very yummy, surprisingly rich for what it is made of. Not the happiest about the 9 pound shot they added to my kombucha drink. Atmosphere 10/10 Love the modern interior, very clean and perfectly temperate. Spacious between tables and lighting was super cool. Service 7/10 Slightly lacking in attentiveness and were acting a bit defensive when I asked if there was any alcohol in my kombucha, but besides that, good service.

A perfect meal. Attentive service, outstanding food and beautiful environment. We could watch the chef from our table. Unexpected and delicious flavors. Highly recommend.

Oh my goodness! I love Scully! We had high expectations knowing the chef's background and because we love NOPI. The flavors were so unique and I loved the blend of Asian flavors bringing something unexpected compared to other restaurants in London. I am not usually a fan of "Asian fusion" or variations of it but this was brilliant. Bravo! Fantastic evening and unforgettable meal. We love every dish and will come back to London just to experience it again! The restaurant is also beautiful and service was perfect. Each dish was beautifully presented and the taste is quite unique of Malay fusion! Love it!

Oh yeah! Americans…read morefrom California here. Who would've known that mashed potatoes, sausages, and gravy would go so well together! Loved every bite. Got the gravy on the side, didn't think I'd use all of it, before I knew it, it was all gone. And you wouldn't think that the type of mash or type of gravy or type of sausage would matter that much, but they really do all have distinct flavors! I will be mixing mustard into my mashed potatoes from now on. Originally came for the sticky toffee pudding, so of course we ended with that. Marvelous! The toffee sauce is so comforting and rich, the cake was so moist, and it was perfectly balanced with the ice cream. Didn't detect any dates, maybe they were too finely chopped. Also the apple and blackberry crumble just didn't hit the same; it was slightly dry and on the sour side (maybe don't take a bite directly after the pudding!) Service was so helpful and friendly; I'm sure they love watching people fall in love with their food. Quick with refills and offered extra condiments if needed. Great air conditioning as well (always a plus), and I loved the green blacksplash and blackboard caligraphy on the walls as well. Bangin'

The Steak and Blackheart Stout Pie was delicious. The steak was tender and the mash was smooth. Definitely get the Sticky Toffee Pudding. The pudding was sweet, soft, and warm, pairing perfectly with the silky pudding and cold vanilla ice cream.

We went to more than a dozen pubs while in London and the surrounding area on vacation recently so…read morewhile reviewing them, I'm trying to focus on what made each a distinct memory/experience for us. My wife actually booked dinner reservations in advance for Ye Old Cheshire Cheese, it was one of a few we did that for rather than just popping in. For some of these, Cheshire included, it isn't a bad idea if you want a full meal to do so as it gives you a table in a dining area that is quieter than the More raucous areas of the pub and guarantees you plenty of elbow room to dine. Every pub has fish and chips, and we had our share of it during our 8+ day trek, but my wife swears by this place as having the absolute best. I'd likely agree with that--we both had the traditional fish, chips, peas platter and every bite was great. We had a few slices of sourdough to hold us over while waiting for those plates. My wife had a bit of wine, and I tried a lager, lower ABV ale, and a pour of scotch opting for their "house" scotch. The spirits/beer menu was the same I saw used at a couple of what I think must be "sister" pubs all using the same distilleries and brewers. We were too full to try dessert. Service was friendly. Not sure if it was the vintage of my scotch or her wine, but price-wise this was by far our priciest pub visit in the area and I can't quite point my fingers at why, but I don't regret our meal and time here. As for historic interest, you can find pictures and placards of many of the pubs famous patrons from history--Dickens, Mark Twain on visits to London, etc. A first edition of a Dickens' book adorned a post by our table.

By…read morethe time I was planning, the only open reservation was at 2pm so I ended up coming for a late lunch. I opted for the all-in which includes a portion of the beef, lamb and pork roasts. A really great way to try their variety of meats. First, the portion was absolutely huge - I definitely appreciated how much vegetables there were, the roasted brussels and carrots were delicious. Sides were all good - including the roasted potatoes and yorkshire pudding. The star was the meat of course, my favorite ended up being the lamb which was super tender and flavorful. Loved the crispy pork rind that comes with the pork roast slices and the gravy and sauces on the side really rounded out the meal, added a ton of flavor and made it fun to try the different sauces with the variety of meats. Service was great and everything came out really quickly! Definitely would recommend Blacklock to try the famous Sunday roast in London, you can't go wrong here!
