The Tasting Lab was an unexpected gem! I ordered the cheesesteak, and having spent half my life in Philly, I'm definitely picky about them. This version wasn't the usual shaved ribeye. it was thinly sliced, incredibly tender, and seasoned to perfection. The cheese sauce was rich and flavorful. My only critique is the roll, it was super soft, so the juicy meat and cheese made it a little soggy. Still, the flavor more than made up for it, easily a 4 out of 5 on the sandwich alone. The rest of the experience? Absolute 10. They know how to season their food, and the variety of sauces they offer takes things to the next level. My husband tried the beer flight and loved it. We sat outside, and the whole place had such a fun, laid-back energy. We're not from the area, but if we were, this would be a weekly go-to. Hubby had the fried chicken sandwich that he liked, however he said it needed more seasoning. I had the daily "mutt", a chipotle peach pulled pork sandwich with simple slaw. Although tasty it was sweet and needed more chipotle. The highlight was the in-house cut French fries that needed a dash of salt that we added. Ordered an all day shandy that could have been colder. I can't say enough good things about the Tasting Lab. The food is spectacular. SPECTACULAR. This place is about burgers and beers. Lots of burger choices (pick your protein, pick your cheese, pick your toppings... you get the idea) and over 30 microbrews on tap. There are other good things on the menu but really all you need is a burger and a beer. The burgers are simply the best I ever had, and I have had a burger at Peter Lugers in NYC (secret lunch menu item... try it). I have been there ten times in the last three months or so and every burger is wonderful. The fries are fresh and the wings are very very special. And then the beer... The selection changes almost daily so they keep the beer menu on line. They have the best micro brew selection I have ever seen. Ok there are two things I don't like in the menu, but they seem to be others favorites. (poutine and jalapeño poppers). But that really doesn't matter because you come for the burgers. All locally sourced beef, veal, elk, chicken, etc. The servers are locals, so expect good people doing their best. The food may take a bit because they are making awesome, awesome, fresh food. Finally a restaurant both my husband and I agree on. The food is so good, we went two weekends in a row. The first visit I tried the wings and side salad. The wings were so fresh they came out steaming hot. So good. The salad hit the spot too. My husband really liked their regular burger so much last time that this time he tried a double wagyu burger, it was huge and he loved it. I think it's his favorite restaurant burger. And I tried the Mac and cheese and fries. Hit the spot. And it's so cute inside and the patio looks great. And everyone has been so friendly and the food comes out quickly. What does it say about a restaurant when they use plastic take out containers in 2024. Lack of respect to their customers. Lets take our steaming food and seal it in plastic... Enjoy! Lack of respect to their own product. It will always taste soggy and sad. Lack of respect to the local environment. Plastic covered in food oils can be very difficult to recycle. You can't be a local business, appear to care, but drop the ball on what your business is putting out into the world. You're part of the problem, you're slowly giving our community cancer. Shame on you. Do you want to be like every other dinosaur? Also, honestly the staff clearly just doesn't care. I stopped in the other day to pick up a take out order and the kitchen staff all turned to see who was picking up the order, in a suspicious kind of way... When I got home, the chicken sandwich I ordered was so bad... Chicken burnt so much it lost all flavor besides oils, and so dry you couldn't take a bite. Poutine fries could be great, but bland. Fancy meats for burgers, but they're all the same type of bland. Average fries yet always an additional cost. Great beer selection usually. As a local, you want a business like this to succeed. I've put off this review for years. I've been dealing with sad service from this place for years and just kinda done now. I don't want to harm the business, I just want them to get better. My family suggested this place while I was in the area visiting. The interior has high ceilings and nice woodwork with a beautiful bar setup all along one wall. They specialize in burgers and I went with a bunless option that was fantastic. I think that was the best burger patty I've ever had! I was thrilled when this place opened, even paid up for their "membership" thing ($75). And it was good for a while. I don't know what happened but three times in a row I've been there now and basically walked out. First, they no longer have anywhere where you can see a list of beers, other than reading a QR code, which does not seem to work on my phone (a new Samsung). This last time, two different employees tried to get it to work and couldn't. So basically you're just shit-outa-luck, they just shrug and that's that. So all those beers and I have no idea what they are. When I suggested that it wouldn't be that difficult to print out a list, they got pissy, obnoxious. "Actually it *is* difficult, they have to be updated and it's easier to do it this way." Hm. OK. So the bartender generously offers her phone to me this last time (which was an improvement, of sorts). And I scan it and pick a beer. And she then ignores me for an inordinately long time, waiting on people who came in after me. Finally she returns, and I tell her my choice, and she says ok and walks off. And 15 minutes later I still don't have a beer. While people who came in *after I ordered* are already drinking theirs. I try to catch her eye and she clearly sees me, but just continues to ignore me. Another thing - when you do their membership thing, you get a huge beer for a regular price, like 24 oz. But I don't like having a glass of beer that big, it gets warm and flat by the end. So in the early days, I would politely ask for a regular glass, and "if you could just add a little to it at halfway or so that would be great." Sure, no problem. When I asked the last two times, it was a flat "No." Not even any explanation, just "No." So, yeah, the burgers are good (the fries suck), the physical place is nice, but the service sucks and the whole QR code thing is ridiculous. There's other places in the general area to get a burger and a beer - Cask-n-Rasher has a list on the wall, and Freehold Pub, while a bit eccentric, has friendly service and good fries. So, I'm throwing away my Tasting Lab "membership card," you can keep this place. read more

This place is great foe a small town but they need to change the ala cart part. And charge a burger with fries as a meal. It can become costly as a family eating here. It's cool that they have different wines it would be great if they had a karaoke night. Also they should have daily specials like taco Tuesday or something to change up the menu. read more

Little to no training in front of house. First time called for pick up, they said "not ready yet, have a seat over there and someone will get you when ready"...27 minutes later I realized nobody was aware of me and by then my order was cold and soggy, but food was ok, though under seasoned. Next time I ate in but again I felt totally ignored, like none of the staff was going to make eye contact as they hurried around in an almost empty restaurant. I had to say loudly"excuse me, can I please have..." another beer, or ketchup, or my fries...but food was better, so went back with my girlfriend, I feel bad for this visit because our waitress was totally overwhelmed and unequipped to interact in a half full restaurant. They were out of my choice but had similar alternative, so I asked for a bun on the side, and she refused to even ask the kitchen, so I asked the kitchen and no problem, so why was she so afraid to ask for a bun? And because I went around her she totally messed up the rest of the order and I had to ask her for everything missing several times. Just horrible service 3 times in a row. The burger was fine, but this review is addressing the blonde female bartender there today. I walked up to the bar to modify my order and she completely ignored me twice. I made eye contact with her and she moved to the other side of the bar and then she looked at me again without addressing me and made her way to the kitchen. The line cook then noticed me and immediately came towards me to ask what I needed since he's actually competent, unlike the blonde. That bartender needs to learn common sense, manners, and how to do her job. No one stands at the bar for their health. Do your job. read more

Got the pretzels and burger (wagyu beef), both very good and the burger was cooked perfectly..the fries were ok..and beer selection was decent.
