called kiyo co. to replace a leaking house inlet water valve and also repair the bathtub water valves. problems occurred when the house inlet water valve was replaced. when this inlet valve was removed, the electrical grounding of the house was removed causing a electrical power surge which caused the following damages: 1 burnout of the house furnace 115vac to 24vac transformer 2 burnout of the ballast for the kitchen light fixture 3 burnout of two electrical power strips used to protect computers and monitors no house electrical circuit breakers were damaged I had a vey troubling experiennce read more

We have been living in our home for 20 years and hadn't replaced many fixtures. We asked Kiyo to fix our stuck main line valve, replace 3 toilet valve lines with 1/4 turn valves, replace 2 sink valve lines that had a slight leak, fix a leaking shower controller (by changing the cartridge), and a loose tub handle. They provided an itemized quote. They came at the planned time. They did a great job replacing and fixing all the needed items and they were able to unstick the main line valve for no charge. Great service and response time! Called in the morning and the technician came to my house in 20 minutes. Instead of advising to replace the whole water heater like some other companies told me, the technician fixed the burnt out wire within half an hour and I had hot water within an hour afterwards! This is the third time I've used Kiyo Plumbing and I need to say upfront that their punctuality has been very impressive. I just had my water heater replaced and needed a 50 gallon. Due to COVID they did not have a 50 gallon in stock so I asked to be put on their waiting list. Three days later I got a call that the 50 gallon heaters had come in and they could be at my house in 20 minutes. Sure enough in less than 20 minutes they were there installing my new water heater. In addition to the water heater they had to replace my ball valve and also fixed the exhaust vent. Everything went perfect and they also hauled away my old water heater. When I received the bill I was pleasantly surprised to see it was $150 less than what they estimated over the phone. Kiyo Plumbing is my go to plumber. read more

Meh. Prices on the higher side compared to other plumbers. Disappointed because my 85-year-old tenant got bullied by their plumber. Bathtub was slow and we wanted it rodded/snaked. I wasn't on the premises, but tenant tells me that the plumber refused to do the work. So I got a nice, fat, juicy bill for work that wasn't done. Unfortunately, my tenant did not tell me until months later that she is still dealing with a slow drain. So the bill has been paid all this time, but the problem was never fixed. read more

Last October, two of my toilet levers (handles) snapped! I used another company (Sal's Plumbing) based on their Yelp reviews and was overcharged and misinformed! They replaced the levers and both the flush valves. When my third toilet did the same thing, I assumed it would be the same price and same issue. However, when a different plumber from Sal's came for the initial visit, he gave me a quote DOUBLE of what I paid for in October. Long story short of it, I found Kiyo's Plumbing on Yelp and decided to give them a try. Thomas from Kiyo Plumbing was very honest and straightforward. He changed the lever and said i didn't need to replace the flush valve - TOILET works fine. He also had reasonable pricing - better than Sal's. The only difference is, Sal's has MANY MANY plumbers on staff - so you might get a quick visit and fix. Thomas was the only person I spoke with and it did take a few days to get the parts, but I wasn't in a rush since my other toilets were working! So just keep that in mind if you are in a bind. I guess good word of mouth is how the word gets around when your work is that good. And a waiting list... I guess that is what happens when you your work is that good (even in a recession). I understand that Kiyo, the owner, finally retired; but he passed the company along to his most able worker. And boy is he a hard worker - did an amazing job when he replaced my sewer lines.
