I only write reviews when I'm convinced that others need to know about a company and this is one of them. I can't think of a better name for this high quality company. My husband and I had been working with another big local plumber in the South Bay for 7 yrs. They did all the plumbing in the home we gutted and serviced our rental property installing water heaters, faucets etc and it got to the point where we felt like a number vs a name and face so we started the search for a new plumber relationship. My 95 yr old father in law had a leaky "main" to his house and we thought it was a great way to experience a new plumber and the reviews for GG don't lie. The guy who came out was friendly, knowledgeable and skilled. what struck us was when he offered both the option to replace as well as repair. Maybe we are jaded by the many service providers who always scare you into doing more extensive work than necessary but this guy seemed like he was advising us like he would advise his own grandfather. The work was done well and it's been nearly a year and no more problems. Because of this experience we decided to work with GG for our tankless water heater maintenance. The price was upfront and reasonable and a different technician came but equally friendly, knowledgeable and diligent. He shared upfront what he was going to do ( you'd be surprised all that goes into this) and approximately how long it would take ( barring any issues) and when he was done, you'd never even know anyone was here it so clean. Third experience was with a shower that wasn't producing hot water and we had a third Good Guy come who expertly assessed the situation, gave us the proposed plan and fees and came back to fix it when I received the part from the mfg. this technician also spoke to us as if we were family or friends when he gave us tips about turning on the hot water even in bathrooms that weren't being used because the parts can break if you don't use it. so he told us how he runs everything at least once a month and now we do that and think of him. Recently, we had to replace two faucets in our rental and of course called GG who came quickly. I had a question about the work and called the home office and without question they had me talk to Rob, the service manager,who spoke to me with respect and full transparency and I felt genuinely heard and understood. ZERO EGO and no patronizing. ( as a professional woman who doesn't even get that from other male colleagues, this was a a big deal) Faucets in and working and tenants happy- goal accomplished. GG Plumbing is not set up to be the cheapest service provider but it's clear they pride themselves on delivering the best experience and outcome at a very fair price ( including warranty). To me the peace of mind working with a trusted company is key and they won me over. read more

These guys quoted me 500 to install a kitchen faucet, and another 450 dollars to replace the 1/2 inch Shutoff Valves. Went to Home Depot, the valves are 12 dollars, so part would be 24 dollars. Home Depot offered install of facet and valves for less than 300 dollars. Their Good Reviews can't be by real customers. I would recommend you look elsewhere for more honest prices. read more

There's a very good reason why these people have so many positive reviews. Even when they just give you a quote they ask you to give them a 5-star review.... they'll send follow up emails, etc asking if you recommend them and to again prompt you leave a review, over and over these guys litterally harass me for a review, so anyways since they asked, here it is..... They came when they said they would come... they were polite and courteous. So I'll give them 2 stars for that. Unfortunately they gave me a really long sales pitch about how amazing they are and everything they would do (that a good/competent plumber does for free anyways) .... then they finally give me the price ... and wouldn't you know it, I was quoted like $10k+++ for a tankless water heater that I got a quote for $5200 from someone else. Mind you the unit itself is less than $1500 from Home Depot. I know everyone needs to make money but if you're going to be really expensive and have a high markup and just looking for suckers I kind of wished I had known that before I wasted my time and theirs getting their quote. They had other options eventually for less cost but still much higher than my local plumber I've always used who doesn't cut corners and offers a fair price. Long story short, if you want a professional job and don't mind paying double, by all means... they're great I'm sure.... but if you think their very high Yelp and Google ratings are from delivering lots of VALUE to their customers, you're mistaken. Good Guy Plumbing installed a new kitchen faucet here today. We had already purchased the faucet at Lowe's. The plumber took approximately 32 minutes to install it and charged us about $530. I checked around, and the average price for this installation should be about $300. Needless to say, we were ripped off and won't be using Good Guy plumbing again. read more

There's people are scam artists. First they the charged me 1,500 dollars just for a simple leak for my kitchen faucet which I later found out was only a 500 $ repair. Then they told me I would need to replace my whole bathroom wall for another leak my bathroom had and would have to pay 40,000 $ for it . I contacted another company and they told me I didn't need to replace the wall at all just repair a simple leak. These people are greedy scam artists who just want your money. I called Good Guys when my kitchen sink was slow to drain. I expected to get the standard response where it would be Days before someone could come and take a look at it. Surprisingly, she said someone could be here that afternoon. I was stunned. Okay. Good response time. Check! Junior came out that afternoon and he was as cordial and personable as he could be. He got right to the job at hand and had the pipes free and clear in no time. Danny was awesome. he was super patient and thoughtful in undertaking the FloLogic leak detector valve we needed because our home had 1.5" pipes and the moen flo doesn't go that high. He debugged the pool / irrigation / sprinkler/ water heater setup to configure everything correctly, did a really clean install and was a pleasure to work with. Wow! Amazing! I had no hot water when I woke up today...I have had a tankless water heater for 7 years and I had no idea what to do...I called GG and they quoted me a $79 charge for the house call that would disappear if we had them do work on our system...Well...He came out and quickly identified the problem...our surge protection popped and there was no power...He got us hot water in 2 minutes and it only cost us the house call...he redid our timer and he was such a nice guy! The young man who came to our home to do a thorough inspection of all of our Plumbing, I mean every bit of it, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and thorough. Age, he is already getting ready to go into the fourth year of a 4-year Plumbing program that his company is paying for. He and his fellow employees to participate in. This is the kind of business we need to support as a community. Also, they have a program for $14.95 a month they waive the $79 service charge if they need to come out to fix anything as well as providing the complete inspection of all the plumbing annually. Our kitchen sink drainage was blocked and we found out our neighbor downstairs was in worse situation, black water sitting still. Called Good Guy Plumbing in the afternoon, and JJ came on time the next morning. He evaluated the situation of both units and gave us clear idea how the drain should be properly cleared. Gave us clear price quotes. The HOA ended up taking over with their plumber. But JJ was still very patient and understanding. HOA plumbers ended up fixing the blockage the way JJ mentioned. I recently made an appointment again with Good Guy Plumbing. Because this time my guest bathroom tub filled with water and would not drain properly. The bathtub experienced a drainage issue on Saturday. After trying several different remedies. This was a problem I could not remedy. The tub had a history of clogging over the years. But a plunger always usually made the difference. Yet, this time the clog would not clear, so I figured this was a serious issue. I called Good Guy plumbing on Monday and spoke with Tammy. By the way, Tammy who has helped me in the past is awesome. And she always greets me by my first name. On Tuesday as scheduled Good Guy technician Cesar Morales and his assistant tech in training arrived early. After explaining my situation to Cesar, he briefed me on several possible scenarios surrounding my clogged bathtub. Cesar was honest, professional, and genuine in his overall initial assessment. He suggested to snake the tub to try to locate the blockage in the pipe. After snaking the tub multiple times he moved to snake under the kitchen sink. He moved to snake under the kitchen sink. Because whenever I ran water into the kitchen sink, water backed up into the tub. Cesar eventually located the blockage and cleared it. The tub started to drain properly thereafter. He then gave me good advice on how to minimize blockage in the future. In summary, what was most impressive to me was the first call to Good Guys to the final outcome and resolution. The entire Good Guy team showed empathy, understanding, and professionalism which equaled resounding success from start to finish. This company is a great company with great service and people. I had a plumbing emergency that needed immediate assistance and Junior and JJ from Good Guy Plumbing came out within an hour or so of calling. Our kitchen sink was backed up and we have older plumbing, so it was tricky to snake but after two days of work and a quick hydrojet, the job was finished and our sink was no longer backed up. Both Junior, JJ, and the woman I spoke with on the phone were kind, professional, and knowledgeable about what was happening and had no issues walking me through their process and how the plumbing in the home worked. 10/10 and will be calling again should anything come up in the future. read more

Just finished a nasty plumbing job performed by Mario Portillo of Good Guy Plumbing. I'd never dealt with them before and scheduled the job by chance of running into them in the neighborhood while doing a job for a friend around the corner...whose opinion I trusted since he lives in the showcase house on the block. my problem had been an ugly toilet overflow that I hadn't been able to diagnose for the longest time. I arranged a quick visit with Mario at his convenience, and he promised to come and inspect my problem the next day. He showed up right on time, came equipped for a deep look into my problem, had it diagnosed--accurately--and proposed a toilette replacement. His proposal was exactly what I had expected to be the case, though I'd also expected a runaround of various other "needed" procedures. None of that occured. Mario performed the replacement with exactly the newer model I'd had in mind. That also involved some "deep reach" flush pipe cleaning which I had not proposed but which Mario instigated as simply a "best practice" in that situation. At the end of the cleanup, with the installation of the new toilet as the one I'd jad in mind all along, my flush overflow problem was solved and the original toilet was carted off with NO MESS. The combined job of toilet replacement and pipe cleaning was performed efficiently and without "surprises." The cost had already been clarified in advance and it was very reasonable. He had showed up, on time, as promised, performed the right job for the right problem, and left his work space immaculate. I recommend Mario and his colleagues at Good Guy Plumbing for any plumbing problem that demands an efficient solution at a reasonable cost. I was very impressed with GGP! Had a normally lovely Navien water heater that had become ... rebellious ... and help was needed. When I called in, I learned that their team is extensively trained on my system (awesome). They sent over their secret weapon, Ernesto Escobar - an exceptional technician and a real pleasure to work with. I had a great deal of curiosity about the system's inner workings and he was happy to explain while walking me through his diagnostic logic (I think he could teach the course). My parents 60 year old house had the old cast iron drain pipes completely disintegrate. There was water leakage and ceiling stains all over the den. Let me say that this was the best decision I ever made! After making the request I was immediately contacted by Marisa, who scheduled a technician to come to my home the next day. She also let me know that if a tech became available sooner she would contact me. Shortly afterwards, she let me know that a tech was available to come out the same day around 3PM! Ernesto arrived promptly and as promised. He was nothing short of exceptional during our interaction. He quickly assessed the issue and we decided it would be best to replace my 12+ year old water heater vs repairing. He quickly ordered a replacement water heater and it was delivered by his colleague within an hour. I had a sewer line that backed up and called Good Guy. It took a few days for them to be able to come but I waited as they were highly recommended to me. They communicated clearly the day and time they would come, gave the name of the technician, and had him check in with me. He texted that he could come earlier than my appointment and followed up with a phone call. He was polite clean and communicated well. He arrived with a box truck and tried two different snakes to open the drain. When they didn't work he tried the Hydro Jet. I was pleased that it didn't mean his having to leave to go get it. I asked if he could repair a cracked fitting and he had the parts with him to to that as well. This review is about 8 months late, but is still well deserved after the overall great job they did with our bathrooms. Judging from the reviews I've read, the job we hired them for is probably on the bigger/more complex side than the typical plumbing call. We needed three things done: 1) re-piping to convert our single vanity sink to a double vanity sink 2) drywall installed behind the sink for a portion of the wall that was gutted out to eliminate a bad mold issue (highly recommend "Advanced Environmental" for mold remediation - see my review on their page for details) 3. Install two new vanities and 3 sinks/faucets in two different bathrooms Robert took good care of me by giving me a very competitive price for all of this work. I'm the type of guy that gets 3 estimates minimum for house work that I hire out for, and I can confirm that Robert gave an honest and competitive price. Robert and his crew showed great professionalism in how they carried out the job and addressed any preferences/needs I had along the way. I always try to give fair reviews so I need to mention some hiccups along the way. There was a minor drip leak in 2 of the 3 sink faucets the same day they were installed, but they immediately came back out to fix the leaks as soon as I called. Also, there were some scratches made on our tile floors from pushing the vanities against the walls during installation. These issues were nothing major and I still highly recommend them as their prices for big jobs like this are competitive and their service was great given the job at hand. read more

Hydro Jetting Done Right! Have had a slow drain for years and got tired of constantly pouring 1-gallon of drain cleaner down every other week and finally bit the bullet and called Good Guy Plumbing to clean the drain properly. The hydro jetting takes a pressure washer hose with jets and flushes all of the gunk and sludge down to the main sewer line from the clean out access. SO MUCH BETTER than a snake!!!! Our drain is clear, smells good and the area outside of the house that looked like a bomb went off from all of the sludge was properly cleaned afterwards. Price was well worth the effort that was needed to clean this drain. I highly recommend this company for any drain or plumbing issues. read more

I recently purchased a home and had some necessary plumbing work that needed to be completed. After researching online I went with good guy plumbing and they basically knocked it out of the park. Our job ended up being more expensive and complex than I initially thought. If you need something done right this is the company to call. They're probably the most professional plumbing company I've worked with. I'm a real estate broker so I work with tons of different subcontractors and it can be a nightmare getting people to show up on time let alone at all. These guys gave a 1 hour arrival window, showed up on time, then communicated exactly what was happening, if they had to leave to pick up a part, what it was, they even said they're going to stop for lunch while they're out to save time. Just great communication, never any open loops or questions as to when they would come back or why they were doing a particular job. I would highly recommend them. For reference we had our sewer line hydrojetted, 2 pressure regulator valves installed, a pressure relief expansion tank installed, and a Flo by Moen system installed. They also set up our laundry area prior to a washer and dryer delivery. Again, they knocked everything out of the park, I would highly recommend. read more
