Such a great place. They have little private booths for each customer. We were helped by a little old Korean lady, which made it seem like your grandmother was making you dinner rather then eating out. The menu was small but packed with heavy hitters I recommend the special chicken or the honey garlic chicken, but everything is great. Prices are really reasonable too we had a table of food, mains appetizers, and drinks and it was only about 70 bucks. Also found out they are open late on the Friday Saturday, so you can get chicken at like 130 in the morning which is awesome. read more

We went during the day with our kids, and ordered the chicken, bulgogi, fried rice and egg rolls & mandoo. We had a family party of seven and perfect venue for Korean fried chicken while eating in a private sectioned off room. Parking is free and in the lot. Looking for something that was open late and found this place. Very cute inside more like a private seating room with a tv almost gave me karaoke vibes! We ordered kimchi stew and beef bulgogi portions were perfect for me and my husband I left very full. Fresh fried and hot HOWever...no where NEAR as good or tasty as the Korean Fried Chicken (sometimes called Olives or bb.q Chicken) between Kyoto and HMart on S. Tacoma Way or--The Underground Kitchen' in Fed Way. And on 'Undergound' if you don't know--now you know. My nephew put me on to them folks. As for Kko..uh sista' just GOTS...to be honest. Now it wasn't horrible at all just NO Korean umphf! No marinated flavor of ANY kind. NO garlic. Not a fan of the lack of crust either. Just thin coated in barely seasoned cornstarch an..an...fried. It also seems to me that they mix flour in wit their cornstarch (if that's what they use) which can render a tough coating in some pieces. A plus is that tha'' barn yard pimp was nice sized pieces and I will also say cheaper approx. $40-- for a whole order. Box was FULL too! bb.q on S. Tacoma is currently STRAIGHT jackin' folks out of almost $45 dollars for a shrinking box though containing MUCH tastier pieces--heavy pissed off sigh. Which is WHY -- where I used to go almost 2-3 times a month--It's now only once every BLUE MOON. Sooooo I saw this as we drove by and turned around and to our delight it was fabulous!! It's very cute inside Open seating to the right and closed in booths to the left where we sat. I have driven past this place for years and finally decided to check it out. A little hole in the wall spot, interesting decor. There a few tables to the right side of the restaurant and a few separate dining "rooms" to the left with a little more privacy and your own tv monitor for kpop. As we walked in I overheard another customer saying that the chicken wasnt even spicy. When I ordered I tried to emphasis to the waitress that we would like ours made extra spicy. We went with shrimp fried rice, spicy special marinated chicken and spicy chicken...all ordered extra spicy. The spicy special and shrimp fried rice were brought out first. A few minutes later--A lady who I am assuming to be one of the owners, came and brought us a bottle of sriracha. Totally not what I wanted, expected, or ordered. Then came out the spicy chicken--which needless to say was not spicy, which I had expected considering the other customer as we walked in...and the sriracha brought to my table. We were also served cabbage salad and pickled radish--which I love. The owner lady came by once again before we left and asked how everything was. I told her that it was good and that I had ordered all of our food to be made spicy, or with extra spice. She said she was only told that we wanted the shrimp fried rice to be spicy--either way, all that was done there was a bottle of sriracha being brought to the table. I am not new to asian/korean cuisine and know that most of them have spices and some you have to specifically ask for...which I attempted to do. Next time I may just have to be more specific, or ask to speak to the cook. The chicken was okay, but could have been better if it would have been spiced right. I do like that you are not charged extra for the radish and salad like some places. Think you still have to pay extra for rice though. Markup on soju is pretty high...but is good if you are out with friends. I like the little separate dining rooms. And I did appreciate the lady coming to the table and seeking feedback on our experience, even if it could have been better. I will probably return and check it out again. read more

Came here around 10pm with my friend to start our night and we ordered shrimp fried rice, half order of fried chicken, beef bulgogi and peach soju. My first bite of the fried rice had that wok hei and that's when I knew this meal was gonna be lit! Fried chicken was crispy and came with 2 different dipping sauces one slightly sweet the other a little spicy, cabbage salad had a sweet dressing which I really liked, the soju was soju so it was doing its magic and my friend really liked her beef bulgogi. The food was different from what I usually have. The Bulgogi was okay, they mix it with vegetables (maybe to look like more) and it makes it really soupy versus just sizzling meat on the platter. Also ordered the whole order of boneless fried chicken and it came in pieces (but size) in a basket and that was really yummy. The sauce she serve with it was not good, but I put chili out on it and that worked out. The green onion Korean pancake was yummy but again the sauce for that was not good. With the Bulgogi they gave one bowl of rice that we shared and with the fires chicken order they provided daikon in a vinegar sauce (that was soooo good). For a side salad they provided plain shredded cabbage with their house made dressing (I didn't care for it). We ordered these cheese balls and they were horrible...don't get those! Overall the experience was good and the food yummy!! Ambience was okay swatting comfortable and everything small and closed in. Not much open area. I like mom and pop joints, so this place is great IMO. I like the spicy marinated chicken (with light sauce! They really drown it) and the boneless fried chicken. Just good simple fried chicken that's satisfying! Fried rice isn't anything to unique nor should it be as long as it's good, and my wife likes the spicy pork bulgolgi. Service is responsive and I've never had a complaint or missed item on my order. Really small place but it ads to the mom and pop joint feel, which I like. My only critique would be the cost, I'd eat here more often if they didn't charge so much for fried chopped chicken thighs, but given the times, and how much it costs to make a living running a restaurant, I understand. Paying to dine out is a personal choice. I'd recommend eating here. read more

This is a great Korean fried chicken place! We visited for the first time a couple weeks ago and we're not disappointed! Atmosphere: this is a small place with tables that seat mainly 2-4 people. We did see one designated area that could hold more like 6-8 people! They have little TV's by the some of the tables playing Korean pop. Food: This is the real reason you come to a restaurant! I absolutely love the food here! If ordering a few things, the half size chicken will feed 2 people if you other dishes to go with! I loved the spicy bones less chicken. Cleanliness: we had to dock a star because the cleanliness of the eating area was questionable. The table had been wiped down with baby wipes before we sat down but a lot of stickiness and crumbs were left behind. We also would've liked to see them wipe it down with some disinfectant too before sitting down but we still ate. read more

I've been eating here for years thanks to the recommendation of my friends that this has the best Korean fried chicken in town! And on top of that, if you want home-style Korean dishes this is definitely the place to go. I always get the boneless #4 spicy chicken and it's sooo bomb. They always serve a side salad and pickled radishes. Not a fancy place by any means but it's fun and they play K-pop music videos in each of the seating areas. It does feel private since each of the tables are closed off from one another. Takeout is always easy here too and the prices are very very reasonable. Just came back from Korea a few weeks ago where I have been stationed 3 times. I know what real Korean fried chicken is and how tasty and crispy it is. I ordered the spicy battered boneless chicken. The taste was ok but I know double fried chicken and that was not double fried. It was really a disappointment considering I really love Korean fried chicken and what I had tonight would not even be served in a Korean restaurant in Korea. The sad part is that Momma and Poppa seemed like they didn't care, especially when I came in and greeted them in Korean trying to practice and being respectful to their native language. All in all, I will not be back because it seems like they are just trying to make a buck off dumb Americans. But for us that know better and know real Korean food, we cannot be fooled. My cousin was craving some Korean soup, and I suggested this place because I've been wanting to try their fried chicken and my sister really likes the place. But I didn't find myself really liking the place as much. And maybe because I ordered the wrong things. I got the Mussel Soup and a half order of the Special Chicken. My cousin got the Kimchi Stew and Pan-Fried Noodles (japchae). My Mussel Soup came out first, and looked nothing like the picture in the menu. And I know it doesn't always look like the pictures, but I had ordered it because it showed mussels in a red soup, like Korean stew. But it came out in a clear broth. It was so plain, tasted like salted mussel water. So, I just picked at the mussels. The Special Chicken was good, but a bit salty. We had to eat with with rice and the side of cabbage to balance it out. My cousin's Kimchi Stew was okay, we've had better. And her Pan-Fried noodles weren't bad. The noodles were just a bit mushier than we're used to for japchae, and I felt like it could use a tad bit more flavor. If we decide to come check out the place again, definitely need to try something else. read more

Seriously loooove Korean fried chicken places. Always so good! My friends and I got the half fried chicken, half boneless marinated chicken, and combination fried rice. We were seated right away in a nice little booth. The decor of the restaurant seemed a little outdated, but nonetheless, I was very comfortable. There was even a little TV in our booth. We got complimentary fried eggs, which tasted like, eggs. Lol. It was good. The fried rice was very good! A little on the saltier side but not too much. Very hot. Good lord, why haven't I been here sooner?? My bf and I were headed down to Olympia for the holidays and were in need to have a late dinner (9 pm ish) and craving Korean food. So where to go? Cham's? Closed. Gangnam BBQ? Nope, closed. Seoul Restaurant? Closed. Of course, there are plenty of Korean restaurants in the area and we could have just randomly drove to one. Luckily, my bf remembered there was a place that served late night Korean fried chicken. So we went to our trusty Yelp app and it led us to KKO-KKO Place. Oh haay! The lady running the place was extremely welcoming. We decided to try a half order of the special fried chicken and a half order of the fried chicken. I thought I already found the best fried chicken in WA but this place proved me wrong! Both chickens were juicy with crispy skin. Even with the special fried chicken, the skin was still crispy with the sauce coated over it. Oh and don't get me started on those fried eggs they serve...they remind me of the Spanish fried eggs my Lola used to cook me but even better (sorry Lola!). I love how the edges of the eggs are brown and crispy while the yolk was perfectly runny. You really can't beat fried eggs and Korean fried chicken as the perfect late night dinner.
