I've been going to this places for over a decade. yesterday May 22nd I decided to try the orange chicken . I was very disappointed in the food, chicken was old , dry and very hard. Ok you guys know I don't leave complaints or be complaining about a teriyaki place butttt this here let me tell you lady up front rude I came in with a drink and she told me I can't bring beverages in here if I want to eat there sooo for me to eat there I have to buy a soda from them I'm like seriously so if I leave my drink in the car I can eat here? This place is truly a fantastic hidden gem! Their teriyaki is great and their fried rice is probably the best I've ever had. Their teriyaki is actually good! 6.99 lunch special on the weekdays. The salad is a little light so if you like salad/ginger dressing ask for another side It's off Hosmer, not in the most ideal place but they are quick and it's a good to go spot. This place has been open forever! The crew is always kind. The service is very quick, and when I request for specifics on my orders such as light oil or sauce on the side, they are always spot on with following instructions. Just like any business they have had some orders that have not tasted the best as far as seasonings and spice goes; so I say personal preference. Owner of this restaurant denied my friend food due to it not only being his first time and she was racial profiling him due to thinking his name on his bank card wasn't him at all otherwise her assuming he stole the card due to him being black which he did not at all and she asked for ID... like who does that when someone is just trying to get some food to eat I never came across that at a fast food restaurant or teriyaki restaurant till this time today at this one... Which all in all was wrong in many ways and then on top of that after bringing out my food to my vehicle she asked if he was my son and I wanted to say something off the lip of my tongue however I refrained from doing so and meanwhile my friend calling her racist due to racial profiling him she asked what he said as she started walking off and I said nothing don't worry about it and drove off in disgust... I will not be coming back to this place ever again and the food is subpar as well... I can only wonder who all she does this too. The teriyaki here is soooo good! I got the chicken teriyaki and my husband got the chicken and pork. We also split an order of the gyoza and there is nothing I would change! The staff was friendly and welcoming and we got our food super quick! The portions were huge and I was able to take half home to enjoy later. I will never go here again. I only got $21 worth of food but they charged me $10 extra in my subtotal!! It wasn't tax either because a 10.1% tax is not $9, it's $2.10 They also charge $6 for delivery when they were less then a quarter of a mile away from me. STEALERS!! The best teriyaki places in Tacoma. One thing most of you guys will notice about Tacoma is the large amount of teriyaki restaurants. A lot of them are ok but this is by far the best place. The portions are large, the prices are unbeatable, the quality of the food is top notch, and the owners are super friendly. They make you feel welcomed and loved every time you come into the restaurant and they show you even more love through the food they make you.
