Ok no problem, we ordered potato hot pot casserole. She said that took 30 minutes to cook and pushed us to get something else, but we said we were fine with waiting since we were going to eat quickly. After that she was so annoyed at us, she told us to change tables and threw the portable gas burner onto our table. We felt so uncomfortable that when our food came out we just wanted to leave. When we asked for a to-go container for the casserole, the lady started packing our food in a plastic container for something else that's been and washed out. This is disgusting. read more

Tasty spot for Korean BBQ, but service is a bit on the slow side. We came on a quiet Sunday afternoon with only a few other tables in the restaurant. They seemed to be understaffed as they had one employee working the multiple tables so it did take some time for us to get their attention to receive service. Usually not too much of an issue but we were stuck with a charred grill for a while until they could come and replace it. Service aside, food was pretty good! We ordered the BBQ combo A which came with 3 selections of meat, soybean stew, rice, and of course the side dishes. The combo was a good amount of good, just right for 2 people. Quality of the meat was pretty good, I definitely liked it a lot. We also ordered the seafood pancake which was decent, thought it was a little bland. Something to note is that they do have fans above grill stations so we left without the strong KBBQ smell on us. I'd suggest having a little patience with their service if you dine here. Just ordered the Galbi Tang - Beef short rib soup with sweet potato noodles and Yangnyem Chicken - Marinated Fried Chicken as takeout. So good! The order came with all of the side dishes (5 total) separated out in a styrofoam container and a side of rice. All of it was really good! The galbi tang especially was amazing. The short ribs just fell off the bone and we're so good. The broth was delicious. It was a really good takeout option. Definitely recommend it. Quality Korean barbecue, and a great selection for Beaverton though not on the scale of LA. The jjigaes (stew) are hearty and tasty, and an excellent accompaniment to the meal. I took my grandma for dinner on Monday at 6pm and we got seated right away. We placed two orders of Galbi and the bean stew aka dwenjang jjigae. The variety of side dishes (banchan) completed dinner. I'd ask for extra garlic, jalapeño, green leaf lettuce, and fermented bean paste. We had leftovers that she was able to take for lunch the next day. Even if you don't want to grill at the table, the entrees are worth it. The week prior on a Sunday night at 5:30pm, I went with a friend and there was a slight wait since the restaurant was full. We got seated in about 15-20 minutes. We ordered the $25.99 Bo ssam and the soon tofu soup. Very filling between two people, and despite having many customers, the food came out quickly and bubbling hot. My errand and dining companion got in the car on a dreary, wet Sunday. " I am starving! What do you want to eat today?" I am the Decider, you see. But companion does hold veto power. Sometimes. Me: " Seafood pancake and steamed dumplings." I seriously do not know what it is about cold wet weather that makes me crave Korean food. I think it is a thing though. There are a lot of Korean restaurants in my general neighborhood. Most are not open on Sunday, which I feel is wrong. I popped "Korean" into my Yelp app and this place on Canyon showed up. We had been here previously when they operated under a different name. It has been gussied up and has a new slightly different menu. At 1:30 there was a pretty good crowd. People were waiting for grill tables. It took a little while for someone to acknowledge us. A smiling man gestured us to the list but I told him we did not need a grill, noting there were empty non grill tables. He asked the other pair of patrons waiting if they wanted a grill ( yes) then put us at a table in the path of kitchen traffic. I grabbed menus on the way. Eventually the kind older lady brought us water and took our order. We ordered seafood pancake ( about $16) and steamed chicken dumplings (about $11/10). The food arrived: tender chicken dumplings first, then savory and crispy-edged pancake. It was delicious. We enjoyed watching the others grill beautiful plates of meats and eat banchan. We will have to do that next time. Or dolsot bibimbap. The menu has many you cook or they cook choices. Parking is fine. read more

Bossam here is still one of my favorites in the Beaverton area! Service here seems to went a bit south, the Korean aunties there aren't as friendly anymore. If you sit at a grill, you are required to order a minimum of 3 plates of kbbq meats, and it can get spendy. It all sounded good and we wanted to try a little bit of everything. We got the kalbi (x2), pork bulgogi, toppoki, kimchi jeon, haemul pajeon, osam bulgogi, and cheese buldak. Everything was delicious especially the kalbi. What's nice about this place is that they can cook the meat for you. If you're having trouble with deciding what to order, they offer two different BBQ combos that come with soybean soup. Definitely one of the best spots in the Beaverton area to get your K-BBQ fix. First timers at Kkoki and first timers with Korean bbq in general. Food was delicious, a bit pricey but overall super good. We had no idea how to order or what we should get so we asked our server how to go about the menu. We asked several times if what we were ordering came with rice and they assured us 3 different times that it did. We never got rice. When the food came out, it came out with a few different sauces which we asked about and they weren't able to tell us what they were, so we kind of just paired random meats with random sauces. We still don't know what we were dipping our meat in. We would've given a five had we had a better explanation (or any explanation at all) of the process of Korean bbq and which sauces were meant for what. The remodel is finally over!!! New Seoul Garden used to be my family's to go to Korean bbq place in Beaverton. Due to the remodel, we had to venture to different places but it was worth the wait! The entire place was remodeled: from the tables to the bathrooms and even down to the silverware. It's very clean, modern and an upgrade from its previous design. The overall atmosphere is a lot brighter and there's more photos to create a stronger Seoul/Korean culture feeling. I definitely feel that the younger generations and not just families will be visiting this place more often. My family ordered Combo B: pork belly, thin sliced beef brisket and we also got pork feet. The thin sliced beef brisket was to die for, especially with the sweet garlic soy sauce that they provided. The sides complimented the meat well but the sauce was the highlight for me. One of the chefs was really sweet and came by our table to ask how the food was and recommended which meat to go with each sauce. My family already knew but the chef wanted us to have best experience there. The other servers regularly came to check up on us and asked if we needed any refills on the side dishes. Overall, I definitely think this place raises the bar for other Korean bbq place in the Beaverton area. It has a modern design AND the well known reputation from New Seoul Garden. I usually order dishes--not BBQ at Korean restaurants, so I admittedly may not be the best judge, but on this outing our party decided to try out the grill. Between 3 people, we got Combo A and B. The pan chan were a bit stingy, but when we asked for refills, they were generous. Unless you have a pretty big appetite, either Combo would be enough for 2 people. The Jumulleok (marinated boneless short ribs) that are only in Combo B, was my favorite--nice and tender. The bean paste soup was strangely thick and quite salty. The waiters kept trying to pile more meat on our grill. I guess they were trying to keep the grill from burning, but it resulted in a lot of overcooked meat, as we couldn't keep up. The service seemed disorganized and stressed, and I think they forgot about our table, as others seated after us were served 1st. read more

Walked in and stood there feeling invisible. No Hi, No give us one moment, nothing. When we got seated we were seated at a booth and when we ordered they moved us saying "you shouldn't be sitting here." Even though she sat us without asking if we're grilling or not. My family owns our own restaurant ourselves and we are just shocked to see how they talked to us. They moved us to a table off in the back and it is FREEZING. The food is alright, pretty big portions, but the server was just really rude and kept rolling her eyes when we asked for extra kimchi and such. This is my first review ever, crazy. Got the bill and they had an automatic 18% tip. They just know their service is bad. Don't hold back on my sides. Let me tell you sonny back in the day that place was New Seoul Garden. They had a side dish buffet and you could get as much (or as little) Kim chee, pickles, radishes etc. it was the best but then.... Now kkoki is in this place. The side dishes come out. Some of them are so small they don't even constitute a bite for one person and there are three of us. I don't understand this about Korean places. They are the least costly thing you have. Why waste servers time going back and forth to refill tiny dishes of cucumbers. Also why don't I get lettuce leaves. The table across from us got them. I don't feel it's an accoutrement I should have to specifically ask for. The meat is really well seasoned. Not too sweet spicy or salty. Just right. However I feel like my portion size has been held back on. If the price is going to be higher than average the amount should not be less. While the quality was good I left a little hungry. read more

The best part of passing through Beaverton on my way home back to Seattle is this Korean BBQ!! You know it is excellent when you see a line of Korean folks waiting to be seated. The cuts of beef, chicken, and pork are generous and grade A+. The staff was good about sanitizing the tables and seats before the next party sat down. We go here for special occasions and, more recently, just because. It's a friendly and comfortable place, the barbecue is delicious (that's all I've ever tried here, after the soups) and consistent. You get the typical Korean-cuisine array of delicious small plates, included with your meal, and the server refills them as many times as you request. First time tying this place the front door into the restaurant is extremely heavy and slams shut. There's a sign sheet put your name on it and your party must all be present or they will not seat you. We arrived at 6pm party of 4 we waited about 20 minutes the palace was already packed. We ordered ala carte the portions of meat was generous the buchan was ok nothing to mention, we had to ask three times for a refill of buchan and our waters were never refilled. Thank goodness for the peach soju. We were done grilling in about 40min and so now it's 7pm and eating and talking the older woman server short hair is really rude kept staring at us like I'll shoe wanted us to leave we were still eating. She even started clearing our dishes no please or thank you or may I take this. Just no smile, staring kept walking by our table each time taking a dish or two. Our party will not be back. There are so many other Korean bbq places that are more welcoming. The combination they offer was mesh reason we decided to do all carte which was more expensive. It was my friend first time eating Korean food I'm sad for the experience. This is probably my first Korean BBQ restaurant after coming to Portland. Beef quality is pretty good. But chadolbagi quality was ew.... Too chewy. Just recommend manurated short rib. The Worst customer service ever!!! I'll never come back again . The waitress was so sweet to the other customers ( white ) but treated us so badly . There was 2 waitresses and the older one was the one who acted like we didn't order enough and treated us like a piece of trash . We three of us ordered 3 main dishes and she didn't offered any of the side dishes . This is the first time I didn't get side dishes ( kimchi ) at Korean restaurant, I've been to many Korean restaurants and they always serve side dishes and a bowl of rice even if you order a bowl of soup . Bad customer service! We ordered three special korean dishes. The owner said that the dishes we ordered do not come with side dishes. If we want side dishes, we have to pay for it.
