I kept hearing about duck donuts and how good it was. Finally stopped by and was very impressed! They greeted me when I first came in, and they took the time to explain how everything worked, that they make their donuts right in front of you and when I was overwhelmed by the number of choices, they recommended their two most popular ones right away: maple, bacon, and bacon in the sun. Everybody's been telling me that I need to try this place. I've been here almost a year. I don't know why it took me so long to try duck donuts may because I knew that they were gonna be good. Greeted right away with a Good morning welcome to Duck Donuts. The team member asked me have I ever been to a duck donuts? I informed him that I had not. He took the time to explain to me how their donuts are made in the process of how they do their donuts. Such a big selection I didn't know where to begin, so I order two dozen of just random donuts . The best part is watching them make all of your donuts right in front of you. After bringing them home, they taste as amazing as they look. If not even better. I think I'm hooked. I think I have a new donut home. I cannot wait to go back. I really want to try their frappe. I am glad I remembered to stop by at Duck Donut today, as they are making special donuts to celebrate Philippine Independence Day. And just for today in the Chesapeake & Norfork locations only they are making special Ube & Buko Pandan donuts (Wed -6/12/24). They are making them all day. I rushed in early this morning, and soon as I walked in the door you just get that fresh smell if cooked donuts and sweet smell of toppings. This will always be our go-to donut place whenever we're back in the 757. And honestly, probably our favorite donut spot ever until another pops up. YES, they ARE pricey but I definitely think it's worth it. Their donuts are like little cakes in donut form. They're moist and delicious, and they have endless flavors to choose from. Probably the worst Duck Donuts I've been to. There's no tables and seating in case you wanted to eat inside. There's a lack of ducks, maybe 20 in total there. The workers don't know the menu and had trouble inputting our order (it was just pointing at the pictures, nothing custom). Even then, they got our order wrong. DONUT DAY! I came here for a quick donut grab- I always say I'm going to get A donut and end up walking out with a 1/2 dozen, and this time was no exception. I got an assorted 6 pack. I love that the donuts are made to order and are still hot when you take your first bite... the one thing I don't love about that is, they always have a long wait - I feel like they need 1-2 more employees on the shift, since it's hard for the donut toppers to also run register and make drinks. I also wish that they had multiple menus hung- they have all of their specialty donuts in one spot by the register, but because they have so many options, everyone always takes awhile to pick which donuts they want, if they had more menus on the wall or had a paper menu you could look at while waiting to order it would make things much faster I may try using the app and ordering ahead next time ... read more

We've came twice over the last few months and we like this location a lot more than the landstown one. Both times we've ordered, it's been online, which I'd recommend to not only save you time but also to customize without feeling rushed. The donuts are pretty good, and my kids will actually take a few bites and ask to save the rest for later. I'm a creature of habit so I always get the maple bacon. It's always really good and very consistent. My kiddos like to pick odd combinations but hey, it's their donut, go crazy. I even brought my friend from Texas here while she was visiting, and she loved the donuts. Her kids went to town too. If we didn't have other places we wanted to take them, then they'd have requested one last visit here. My only issue for not five stars is that when I ordered online, it told us 15 minutes. Which is great, plenty of time to get there. When we get there we expected hot donuts, since they're made to order, but we haven't had such luck. We're probably ordering at very slow days/times as both times the donuts have been luke-warm, versus hot. Long story short, they started in Duck, North Carolina out in the Outer Banks (hence the name) and were able to open up locations here in Hampton Roads. So I thought since I was leaving work this morning, why not order half a dozen to take home to Newport News? For starters, you walk in and every worker has on a face mask and 6 feet markers are placed on the floor. The 'new normal' for today's situation and practicing safety precautions. Everyone said hello of course and off to ordering I go! My choices for the half dozen were 2 glazed, 2 strawberry icing and 2 Bacon in the Sun. All were fresh and hot and once I got home, they were still warm. All in all, they were delicious. The texture of the donuts were like cakes and cooked well. The icing on all three were spot on.
