I've gone here twice and have had a mixed bag of experiences. The place is really laid back in atmosphere, which made things less intimidating for me as a new customer. My barbers were quick to chat me up each time I went. But it can get too laid back really fast. Both times I was there my barber stopped to take phone calls/answer text messages. As a customer that made me feel like not much of a priority, and more importantly, like my time was being wasted. The price, which was different each time I went, was pretty reasonable. And the cuts themselves? Decent enough the first time, not good the second time. $35 for an unfinished and unprofessional haircut for which my barber didn't follow directions. When I sat down in the chair, the barber decided to put on a movie. I thought, "Okay, each barber has his own quirk. As long as he efficiently cuts my hair, it shouldn't matter." He then spent 3 minutes summarizing the first half of the movie then spent 2 minutes texting someone before he finally asked questions about what I'd like for him to do to my hair. I wasn't in a rush, and it looked like he was having a slow day, so this didn't really bother me (at first). I asked for a mid fade and a trim on the top - a simple male haircut. As he was examining my head, he made remarks saying that the previous person to cut my hair did a horrible job, explaining that my current hair was all sorts of messed up. (I was actually a big fan of my previous haircut.) He was kind of rude about it, which should've been the first red flag regarding professionalism. Throughout the haircut, the barber stopped what he was doing to respond to personal texts/calls and to talk about the movie more than a dozen times. About halfway through, he very abruptly threw the buzzer onto his table to run out the door and check out a lady walking by - are you kidding me?! He was so quick to do anything BUT cut my hair. He turned a 20-minute haircut into an hour-long fiasco. Towards the end, he did a shoddy job of trimming the top of my head. I asked for about half the length (about an inch and a half) to be taken off, but I'd be surprised if it was even a half-inch. All he did was graze the top with a pair of scissors; he didn't even touch the hair between the crown of my head and the end of the mid-fade. He left me looking like a half-used wet Q-Tip. By the end, he shaved the front of my head when I explicitly told him not to at the beginning. I would have reminded him not to, but he was super quick to do this because he was receiving a phone call. I told him to finish what he was doing so that it wouldn't be uneven. After finishing up his mistake, in this exact order, he brushed off the loose hairs around my head, answered his phone, took my barber cape off, and spun me around FOR THE FIRST TIME to face the mirror. He said, "You're all good, man," then started cleaning up his equipment as he was talking on the phone. I was not "all good." I wasn't even kind of good. He didn't give me a chance to let him know that his "fade" was actually two VERY visible lines or that the hair on the left side of my head was noticeably longer than the right side. I'm giving 2 stars as opposed to 1 star because the barber followed COVID-19 protocols. He wore a mask and gloves and also made sure no customers would walk-in unexpectedly (he locked the door while giving me a haircut). The fact that my only compliment is something as basic as following Massachusetts law shows just how low the bar is. I won't be returning. read more

Consistently great hair cuts. Friendly barbers, that make you look good. Comfortable, clean relaxed shop atmosphere. Easy to get to right across from forest hills t station, fair prices for a haircut, especially when you see the level of detail they give to each customer. I actually started going to this barber shop because of its great location right across the street from Forrest Hills station. It seems as though the location is the best thing that this place has going for it. I find that there is a struggle between professionalism and talent at Klassy Kuts. There are 4/5 barbers there at all times, I prefer the owner Bobby, in my opinion he's the best as I only let one person give me a cut, I'm not into switch barbers. As in all barber shops guy talk ensues, sometimes it seems to be overboard in mixed company but that's just how it goes sometimes...My issue with most barbers here is the juggling of cutting hair and cell phone use, it absolutely infuriates me, a cut that should take about 20 minutes is doubled because of side text conversations. At this point it doesn't matter how talented the barber is because on a scale of 1 to 10 he has just become a negative 5. The other thing that brings this place down is the fact that appointments are not really honored. Speaking from personal experience, I've called and made several appointments and when I got to the shop got everything from "I didn't see you walk in" to "I forgot you were here" to "I really need to start writing these down in a schedule book"...you think? Check this place out if you have patience, Bobby the owner usually does an excellent job with all the aforementioned being said...I can't speak for any of the other guys...I'll be going back until I find a real "quality" barber shop...I like a business that's run like a business, they need a professional course or something. read more

I really like classy cuts. It's got a great relaxed atmosphere and everyone there is cool. They're definitely not the most time efficient barbers, but while you're waiting you're bound to laugh at something. It's a clean barbershop and they make my hair look presentable which is no easy feat because my hairline is similar to a war-ravaged country. I definitely recommend this place; it's got great people and you'll have a fun time waiting. read more

i didn't get what i asked for , i received something completely different , pay attention next time . i didn't like what i received either , this place needs improvement as well , a customer was very loud during my appointment yelling and swearing , have some klass since your place is called "Klassy Kuts". read more
