This review is only for today's experience. I love klatch coffee and I have been a customer here for the past 3 years. I walked in today with my 3 kids. I was holding my baby in my arm and other 2 were running around. When I ordered my sandwich and a coffee, I asked the cashier girl if she could bag everything, and she said yes. I think she just forgot but the same girl gave me my sandwich just in a box and my coffee was left on the counter. So I asked again if she could put everything in a bag. Then the other girl heard me and she put my sandwich in a bag and left the bag on the counter. Still my coffee was standing there with no cup holder or anything. I wanted to ask again but I don't like bothering people so I put my baby on the counter, carefully watching him so he won't fall, and put my coffee in a bag without a cup holder! All this happened while 3 people were working and only me there as a customer at the end. Is it too much to ask? I just wanted everything in the bag because my hands were full with kids and struggling. And I asked nicely twice? There was no other customer waiting in line. When I got to my car, some of my coffee has spilt in the bag because there was no cup holder:( I was tired so I wanted a cup of good coffe, but walked out feeling more upset. Disappointed read more

Couldn't believe a coffee shop like this existed in a city like San Dimas... Really glad I checked it out, and while I was working up there. Not only do they serve up highly rated coffee and espresso beans, but their sandwiches(lunch) are pretty tasty as well. During the times that I've been there, the workers were very helpful and caring. Definitely check out this place if you're nearby, and if you're into pouring your own coffee, their beans are definitely ones you need to try. There is a $5 minimum for card, just a heads up...One morning, some guy ordered a coffee and didn't have cash. The worker gave him options of what to add on, to meet that $5 minimum for card, but he got frustrated and walked out. I guess he didn't hear the worker because she tried stopping him, to offer the coffee on her. So...I hope he doesn't think they have poor customer service. read more

I worked there for a couple years a while back... so what i can say is: Good coffee... can't deny that. They used to roast in the San Dimas store.. which was a neat novelty.. but they moved their roasting to a warehouse.. which might be for the best.. every time you sat in there while they were roasting.. you would walk out smelling like coffee. They have great drinks.. a little pricy, but what cafe isn't now a days? If you get a good baraista when you order latte or cap in a mug they might make you a cool latte art rosette... Also, just so you know, if you order an iced latte.. its made with half and half, not milk, thats why its so good! (& fattening)! Their sandwiches are good... I like the grilled red pepper, grilled eggplant and the veggie. They used to get their bread from Full of Life Bakery.. not sure if thats still the same. ... my only problem with CK .. are the employees.. sometimes they are just grumpy.. and having worked there.. i cant deny i wasnt the same. If youre a regular its fine.. but if you walk in and order a "patio special" expect an under the breath curse or an eye roll... it was a least favorite drink to make .. read more

I keep giving this place a try since I work down the street but the last two times I have entered I have not gotten good customer service. It is customer service 101 that after the customer pays and you hand the tender(change,card) that you say something like your coffee will be out soon, heres your card, or even a thank you and I got none. The light hair girl just walked away. It took very long for my breakfast sandwich when A) there was absolutely no line or any drinks/sandwiches ahead of me and B) there was 4 people behind the counter. The genteman who made it also forgot to not put tomatoes and I ordered none. They were talking to each other which I wouldnt mind if they were working fast and paying attention to orders. Other than that, the breakfast sandwich was alright and the coffee was delicious. I will try again soon but the service makes me very hestitant. read more

Before moving away, Coffee Klatch is where I spent many, many years and so many hours of my life. I studied here, had date night here, meet up with girlfriends and just messing around on the net sesh stuff. The coffee here is so, so so good. We take home a bag every time we go back home to visit family. Suggestion: Iced White Chocolate Mocha. I will be so jealous. The iced drinks are decadent and creamy, and the hot ones are layered with espresso and flavortown goodness. The blended drinks - WOW! Blueberry muffins.. Oh my. Something really interesting here too is the rare coffees they brew. You'll love Coffee Klatch!! I suggest you bring Cash because unless they've changed it, there's a card minimum (or they charge like 50 cents) - it's no biggie, but I know from seeing fellow Yelpers it's something people want a heads-up for. Admittingly, I miss the old homier decor, BUT the new art is pretty sweet. Just gives it a different feel. Edit: I see a lot of posts about the service. Honestly it's a mix-up. Sometimes really chatty service, sometimes semi-distracted, but I don't get the rood service people talk about. Never had a problem here as long as I wasn't lingering around the bar double checking everything, and if there was a problem, just clarify there was NICELY, and you'll get it fixed. Only one time, the daughter who runs this shop tried to tell me I ordered something else, but I was firm I didn't, and she remade it without a problem. Maybe an eyeroll, but come on, have you ever worked in a coffee shop? IT IS annoying to remake stuff, and even Baristas make mistakes because they hear hundreds of Coffee orders a day, and while they shouldn't do gestures that show they are irritated, they are only human and this Coffee is worth it, so don't let it bother you! read more

I love my hot mocha, but not too sweet, and Klatch klutched the sweetness level . Although I mainly come here to study, I love this place for it's lax environment. I have never made a review of this place because I consider it my special special place. Here is where I come not only to have the best coffee but also to unwind and dont think of anything but the enjoyment of the wonderful flavors and aromas of the coffee. This time I decided to write something about it because I had the most amazing coffee experience, not only because of the coffee selection that I had but because I realized that I have been coming here for four years and it has giving me such incredible memories. I have come here on my way to see my girlfriend when we were just going out, I have come before an important audition and even concerts like the first time I sang with the great Placido Domingo, also I have come very early on my way to a restaurant consultation job which I'm also passionate about. So I thought that it was time to write something not because klatch Coffee needs anybody to give them a review but because I need to say that is has been more than just a coffee place for me, it has been an important part of my life and I basically want to say thank you. This time I opted for the Geisha coffee beans with a pour over method and it was simply too good of a thing not to share it! It had the most unbelievable aroma and fruit flavors, your could taste berries, but trully taste them, not the kind of flavor that come after the description, they are obvious but in a subtle way, very refined and extremely balanced, the kind of balance that only nature and the correct care can give. Not to mantuon their WBC espresso that is out of this world, sweet with just the right touch of citrus at the very finish, it is trully superb. The house espresso is couse to an good italian espresso in Italy but even better, with a thick chocolaty flavor and and amazing crema. At the entrance of this perticular klatch Coffee, you recived by a corner with an extensive array of their coffee beans, breakfast blend, sumatra (one of my favorites) Geisha, Colombian, Panama etc. Every single bad of coffee beans you get is an extrodinary experience of flavors, whether you make it on a cheap Mr Coffee machine, a V60, Chemex or Syphon, it will taste good in all... I have made it in all of the ones I mention, the best for me, is V60 and Chemex, but in all honestly if you have any type of coffee brewer it will still taste amazing.. delicious coffee with friendly and knowledgeable staff - as in they actually know where the beans come from, the flavors of the beans... nice. i love LOVE their lavender latte, which, by the way, is $1 off with check-in (woo hoo!) and made with half and half (a little extra for soy). they have a clean bathroom, plentiful free parking (in the same mall as target, next to the little cesar's), free wifi ("roasting" is the password), and, best of all, awesome vibe. lots of cool, friendly, coffee lovers. klatch also offers sandwiches, muffins, other edibles but seems like most folk come for the coffee. a non-surburbian haven in suburbia ;) read more

I went a long time ago to meet a friend, and didn't have a nice experience with the location. The stench was UNBEARABLE, and the drink wasn't very good (one of their teas). Went there again recently, and totally different. Great aroma, great espresso, awesome service, free wi-fi, just a different feel than Starbucks. I liked it. Went back, same barista, same great service, a different drink was recommended to me and it was divine. Honestly, though, don't come here. There isn't much room inside at times, and I don't need anyone else finding out about this place and stealing my comfy couch. read more

The customer service was good but the coffee was another story. The coffee my boyfriend and I ordered just had a foul and sour taste. We ordered the nitro cold brew float and the iced mocha latte. I don't know if the tap they poured the coffee from wasn't cleaned properly or the coffee went bad. Thankfully we got a refund. I don't know if that's normally the case for the coffee but it was bad enough we won't be returning. I was very disappointed because of the other good reviews but if you're charging $6 per coffee it should at least taste decent. read more

How could a five-star coffee shop possibly be in a strip mall anchored by Target? It's in friggin' SAN DIMAS (high school football rules) for God's sake! I'd give 'em two more stars for their consistently reliable--and free--wi-fi, but I don't have that option at my disposal. All pastries (except their sliced cakes, of which there's an ample assortment) are baked on-premises. They've got these awesome cinnamon puff-pastry twists that must have a day's caloric ration stuffed between their buttery layers. They also make some pretty good specialty coffee drinks, but I take my coffee black. Straight up. Pure and simple. Theirs is remarkably smooth and sweet, with coconut and almond overtones and a fresh, almost tobacco-like finish. Not at all astringent or bitter. That some of their baristas have for several years held the title of World Champion from whatever regulatory organization bestows such honors makes no difference to me. They just make good coffee. And since they're close enough to home to be my after-work hangout at least three times a week, they get my unwavering support! read more

Ok, so maybe it isn't kosher to write a review after one drink. But I've done it before, and I'm gonna do it again. Just so you know. And maybe since I'm now in the coffee biz (shhh!), it might not be de rigeur to comment on other establishments. I'll admit, I've found it hard to keep writing reviews since becoming a "coffee professional" myself. First, I'm afraid to alienate or make enemies in the industry. Second, I appreciate how hard it is to deliver consistent quality, let alone please everyone. Finally, I worry that my opinion my be too much geeky expertise and fussiness without much practical value for the average Yelper. But I had to! And since my experience was positive, it was easy to write. I had the Guatemala Rosma Cup of Excellence from the bru bar for $7.95. Yikes! That's like four hours worth of tip money, for those of you who aren't blessed enough to work in coffee. But when I see a cup for $7.95, it's like a challenge and I wanted to test it with my fussy coffeegeek tastebuds. I appreciate good coffee, I've had the most expensive coffee in the world (kopi luwak, $85/cup), and I've had coffee at over fifty shops - see my other reviews. I expected to be disappointed. But I wasn't. Not at all. The cup had inherent caramel sweetness, flavor clarity, and layered complexity - from light pear on the front of the tongue to cocoa powder, maple syrup, and vanilla on the finish, with a beautiful, lingering aftertaste. It was a delicious cup that I could not put down. It was not bitter, nor did it get sour as it cooled. Just delicious all the way. So impressed with my first experience at Klatch! I go here regularly to buy coffee beans for espresso. It is about a 45-60 minute drive for me, but it is completely worth it. When I was living in Sacramento, I still visited once a month or so to buy beans. If I could not make it down, I would order them online. I would even take orders from my friends in Sac, and resell them up there. Yeah, it is that good. They always have several varieties, and though I will occasionally try something new, I always go back to their WBC blend. It has the perfect brightness that I love in an espresso and produces a good crema. I often order a double espresso to drink there when I stop in, and it is always perfectly pulled. I have gone with people who have ordered flavored or milk-based drinks and like them, but I stick to black espresso, so I cannot comment on those. Service is always very helpful and friendly (Intelligentsia could really learn something from Klatch). read more

I'm completely amazed of the variety of food and sandwiches at this location . I like it here for lunch . I recommend the apple chicken salad . I have tasted hot and iced coffee delicious . Also my other favorite sandwich is the chipotle chicken panini . This place is perfect they have wifi and it's not full of people . I'm pretty sure they have certain times they are super busy. Best roasters in California. Well....Tied between Kefa in Oakland for me due to their focused Ethiopian bean. Kefa peeps are Ethiopian so they may weigh in heavier but Klatch is in my hometown so .... ehhhh??? No, come to think of it...Klatch does a lot more community stuff which is commendable. Overall...Klatch has a killer cup of the day regardless what kind of bean it is. Seriously, try it. Been on an award tour for coffee since 2008 and if i can't get it great, I'll stick to making it myself. Why pay for mediocre? Yes, I snub the rest and go for the best. asaazaaaaaaaaaaaaaŵaaa Either way, if you're in LA stay away from this place. It's mine! No hipsters allowed. Please?! My friend and I decided to go here to get some studying done and be productive. Upon arriving we had good expectations. We get in the shop and there are hardly any seats open so we almost left until a women got up and gave us her table. We ordered two drinks. I got a cappuccino and my friend a iced latte with almond milk and caramel. My friends drink was way to sweet. And my drink was the worst coffee I have ever tasted. Next we tried to get on the wifi. There were too many people using it so it took half an hour for it to work for us. Finally it works. I really tried to like my cappuccino, but it was horrible. So I got up and asked for a latte instead. They were nice about it and got me my latte. It was just as gross. I'm unsure if it was because of their espresso machine, or because they were training someone new, but regardless it was gross. Ended up leaving and going to Starbucks. Very disappointed. read more

This is one of my automatic go-to spots for when I want to get some art/writing done after I get off of work. It's conveniently located right next to the 57 freeway, and it's in the same plaza as Aaron Brothers (art supplies!), Target, and Trader Joe's, so if I need to knock some art supply/grocery shopping out of the way I can do so right before I get my coffee/tea. There's wifi, but you're limited to two hours of it per code (which you get with your purchase). The service here is always great - Liz and Kim are two of the friendliest baristas you were will ever meet.... and they'll make you a great cup of coffee. Favorite sandwiches to get: turkey/provolone deli sandwich (comes with sprouts! yum... and you can ask them to toast it on ciabatta bread if you want), three-cheese grilled panini, and monte cristo. SO GOOD. Favorite drinks to get: creme brulee latte, ice blended white chocolate mocha, vanilla bean latte. All a bit on the sweet side, but still delicious. They display work by local artists from here, and they often have live music here on Friday/Saturday nights. read more

Several nights ago I was served by a lovely barista who did a marvelous job of making me a Brubar pour-over that was satisfying from start to finish. Imagine my shock a few nights later when I returned to the same location and instead of making me a proper $4.50 pour-over a different barista decided that flirting with a patron was more important than a customer. Rather than taking the time to correctly prepare my pour-over which takes time the employee just dumped all the water at once into the cone with the grounds and flirted with the customer for 5 minutes or so. I was surprised when my coffee was suddenly ready and I never saw the employee work on it for more than a few seconds. I got in my car and drove off down the freeway only to realize that it tasted rancid and bitter. A few days later I later spoke with the store manager, Jen at length and she is in the process of taking care of everything and making it all good once again. Word to the wise: their seasonal cooling coconut lime is delicious but looks deceptively bigger in the pictures here on Yelp. So rather pricey for the amount. Space-wise, it's ok. Not too crowded, although I didn't like how their lower long table was surrounded by benches that were not equal height and also not at a height comfortable for conversation at a table of that height. read more

I went in today excited since I had read amazing reviews and delicious looking pictures. I ordered a Large Iced Créeme Brulee and an ultimate breakfast sandwich. The coffee was alright, nothing special about it. Not too sweet, not too strong. I paid around $4.75. I wasn't a fan of how small a "Large" was. The sandwich was super bland. No seasoning what soever. Paid $6+. Wasn't impressed. I don't think I'll be back anytime soon. read more

Came out there for traders joes stayed for the litte nugget of gold that is coffee heaven. I'm a starbucks addict and hadn't had my fix this morning and my friend pointed out this place as we were going to traders joes. I decided to give it a go. Oh i have seen the light. I ordered the creme bruelee it was delicious i like my lattes in the middle of sweet and strong basically the perfect balance and oh yes it was. I also ordered the velvet cupcake(i'm on a journey to find the prefect velvet), it was okay more crumbly then moist. The customer service i would give six stars. I was we waiting for my order and the cashier came around and asked to see my cupcake box. She drew a smile and said a smile for a happy day. Oh i just wanted to put her in my pocket. The place was a bit crowded, has outdoor and indoor seating. Pretty much the same type of people you see at starbuck. It had friendly atmosphere and a relax vibe about it. I have very mixed feelings about this place. I give 5 stars because of the quality of their coffee. It is a high end coffee shop that roast their own coffee and the world barista champion of 2007 came from here so their coffee is top notch. I've had a latte and their coffee is nice and smooth. The creme brulee latte is amazing and sweet and they top it off with latte art. I've had their frappe and they are nicely blended with no chunks of ice like Starbucks. I love coming to this place because of what they have to offer but their is one issue. Their customer service is ok depending who's there; it can be good or not the best but they always seem busy. My issue is the people that go to that place. It's located in a really nice neighborhood so some of the people their are not great to be around with. Some of the people are stuck up rich people or snobby college students and they look at you as an outsider. Every time I go their it seems like I'm the only Mexican there so I feel very out of place and people look at me weird and I'm speaking on behalf of myself. None of the people their seem to have any soul. That's one of the reasons I don't go there much. I feel more at home at Tierra Mia coffee. I do recommend going there though. As a barista myself it is a very good coffee shop. read more

Yes, there may be a better bean that is pooped out by a mythical creature in a different dimension that costs eight million dollars an ounce. But, dollar for dollar you are not going to find a better roasting house on the west coast of the USA!!!! This month I am working on a bag of Costa Rica Cerro Paldo. I also just joined the coffee of the month club to sample roasts that I would not normally buy. Idk how I haven't discovered this coffee joint until today. Stopped by Klatch to quench my thirst. I was looking for something sweet and cold. The barista recommended the ice caramel brulee...I went with her suggestion and it was legit. I also ordered the ultimate sandwhich to snack on. Sandwhich was huge and fresh. Only giving this place one star because yelp is making me. Went here and was really excited after hearing other people talk about how good the coffee was. But in a simple answer it was awful. My latte was way too sweet with an odd after taste and my friend had two different drinks of which both tastes like dirt. They said they were having issues with the expresso machine, but why I had to pay over $10 for crap was no okay with me. The wifi also would not work for the first 30 minutes and the only explanation given to us by the staff was that it is odd when several people are there. So disappointed. Went and got a basic starbucks afterwards because even basic would be better than Klatch's expensive gross taste. Sorry guys :/ read more

I love this place. The owner roasts the beans right in the store almost every morning, and the baristas are truly baristas. It is no secret that I hate Starbucks, but if you believe in good coffee, this place truly puts Starbucks to shame. The kids behind the counter have actually been trained and quizzed so that they know the proper way to produce a good shot of espresso and steam the milk so that it rolls and becomes creamy rather than scorching it, like every other place does. Yeah, that's right, I'm a coffee snob, but I also know that the hideous noise you hear at the other places is the "barista" screwing up the milk. Their drink menu is fairly extensive, and they also have pastries, soups, and sandwiches that are prepared to order. This place is somewhat small and lacks the comfy ambiance that I would prefer, but then again, it IS San Dimas and it IS located in a Target shopping center. The friendly employees and great coffee make it worth the trip. read more
