Thankfully, I became pregnant again quite quickly and proceeded to be in their care until 24 weeks with Dr.Rodriguez. She is truly a wonderful woman and knowledgable doctor. Unfortunately, I transferred care due to their strict "No Doula" and "No Hypnobirthing" policy. When I asked my doctor about it, she said "dont waste your money" and "many of the L&D nurses at south miami are doulas" (not true). Per ACOG (American College of Obstetritian & Gynecology) "Evidence suggests that, in addition to regular nursing care, continuous one-to-one emotional support provided by support personnel, such as a doula, is associated with improved outcomes for women in labor". Hypnobirthing is also a proven pain management technique. So why do they have this policy? My guess is liability purposes. ("https://www.acog.org/clinical/clinical-guidance/committee-opinion/articles/2019/02/approaches-to-limit-intervention-during-labor-and-birth) This "no doula" policy, coupled with the fact that South Miami has an astronomically high c-section rate, were all red flags for me. I absolutely do not want a C-Section. So if you're preggers and looking to avoid the "Cascade of interventions" that come with labor, I would proceed with caution. Not to say it's not possible, but there are already policies at South Miami OBGYN that protect the medical group while also stripping the mother of options for their birth experience. Worth noting that when I transferred care to a different doctor I got a call from this office to the tune of "just to let you know, if it doesnt work out with the new doctor you can't come back to us for care". 5 star group for regular OB Care 3-4 Stars for pregnancy support

Struggling with a life long deviated septum breathing restriction I decided to schedule surgery after a check up. Surgery went well and am pleased to have the care of a qualified professional. They have many offices in south Florida so no matter which office you choose you will be provided excellent care.
