As a result, I had avoided going to the dentist out of fear and worry for over 7 years. I was afraid of being yelled at and afraid that my sensitivity needs would not be accomodated. I knew I was overdue for a visit, and stumbled upon Tomalty Dental Care and I couldn't be happier. From beginning to end, everyone has been a pleasure to deal with. From scheduling the appointment over the phone to arriving to the office. Everyone is positive, upbeat and understanding. I went in with firm expectations of wanting to express my needs and concerns with the doctor before being touched, and was able to do so without question. Dr. Jordan took his time to listen to me, and was willing to grant my wish of being completely numb before my mouth was touched. Within 10 minutes, Dr. Jordan had gotten father with me than any previous dentist had in over 2 hours. He was gentle, explained everything thoroughly, and went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable (even when giving the numbing shot, which I barely felt AT ALL!). In addition, I have Cerebral Palsy and have a service dog to help me control my muscle spasms, and she was able to stay with me the entire time I was in the chair, which was amazing! Dr. Jordan mentioned that I should have my wisdom teeth removed (which is something I have known for a long time, but have avoided). Due to his compassionate care, I am actually feeling comfortable with moving forward and getting that done within the next few months. The level of trust and comfort in this office simply cannot be beat! All in all, I can't say how thankful I am to have found Tomalty. I am feeling determined, comfortable and confident about getting back on track with my regular cleanings and annual checkups. That is saying a lot considering I used to lose sleep the night before dental appointments and avoided going at all costs. I arrived exactly on time and spent an hour and 15 minutes going through a grueling process of every type of x-ray possible. After wasting all that time in the chair, I was flatly told that the hygienist was "too busy" to actually do my cleaning. It is completely unacceptable to trap patients in an office for over an hour for x-rays, only to refuse the core service they scheduled weeks ahead of time to receive. They have no respect for their patients' time and fail to deliver what they advertise. Save yourself the frustration and find an honest dental practice instead.

Xavia is not easy to deal with, has a condescending attitude with patients and actually had the audacity to tell me that "that is why he is the owner", when 3 weeks ago I indicated it is not fair for patients to be made to wait for responses regarding over payments because the owner/dentist only works one day a week. Not an appropriate response, in my opinion. Given I have had to chase refunds from this office twice now, I will not be paying for services upfront. Will wait for EOB to do so; and if not able to, then I guess I will be looking for a new dentist. I have left messages asking for either the owner or my treating dentist to call me, and nothing. Dr. Hamarnah and her staff helped me feel comfortable from the start. From initial intake to my first meeting, Dr. Hamarnah helped develop a plan to fix some long required issues. She had me deal with a top Periodontist to have some teeth extracted. That went very well and then she somehow worked with a lab (magic?) and had me fit with temporary teeth the next day. The cost was very fair and I felt well taken care of. The follow up from Dr. Hamarnah and her staff was excellent. When Dr. Nadel saw my x-rays he told me that he could do a filling and see how my tooth would react after that (without having to do a root canal or put a crown) So i went in and his associate dentist Dr. Steven Horwitz did my filling which was an amazing success. I have no pain on that tooth, no sensitivity, and i am very happy with his work! My tooth is happy too! No crown or root canal was needed. I am so glad i went to Dr. Nadel. I would definently recommend him and Dr. Horwitz. If i had not gone to them i would have been ripped off by the other dentists that wanted to do a root canal on my tooth and a crown. I had just switched TO that office from another that was equally as bad for different reasons - why is it so difficult to find a dentist?? In March of 2023 I had to find another office because the one I was going to (and liked) no longer took my insurance. I tried an office - had a cleaning (the worst of my life) and an exam (the dentist never looked at me and simply listed thousands of dollars of necessary work). The search continues...... I needed a crown - went to Dr Bun at Tomalty and loved her - the crown is great! So I asked about a cleaning and, due to insurance, I had to wait 6 months (remember my last cleaning was awful). Sooooo - today I went. I arrived 10 minutes early and was taken back right on time only to be told that they needed to take xrays because that other place didn't send mine. I explained that I would not do that as I just had them 6 months ago and my insurance would certainly not pay again. The hygienist then said "can't you just pay 29.00 for another set? NO!!!! Why would I do that? Why didn't you call me to let me know they had not yet arrived? I then called the other place and they sent them to my phone but that took some time. The hygienist shoved that pick into my gums so far it hurt. I have NEVER had that happen. Then she proceeded to tell me that I needed a deep root cleaning - - ummmmmm I actually fell for that 18 months ago and did it and paid for it and then did cleanings every 3 months for a year. NO - I won't do that again. I was then told that they wouldn't do the cleaning today because that's not what I needed and insurance wouldn't pay based on my xrays - - I replied that insurance paid in March with the same xrays!!! They referred me to a periodondist - - - guess where - - in another branch of their own practice. Not Kosher!! The search continues - -
