I was genuinely excited when this bagel shop opened and it quickly became my go-to spot. The food and service were great at first. Unfortunately, I've stopped going because the store now allows non-service dogs inside -- and this is a very small space. I've personally seen large pet dogs rubbing against shelves and rugs and barking while customers are ordering food. In such close quarters, that's especially uncomfortable and unhygienic. I completely understand and respect legitimate service animals -- that's not the issue. The concern is allowing pets in a place where food is prepared and served. Because of that change, I can't continue to support the business. I hope management reconsiders this policy. read more

Ordered via TooGood2Go on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. For $5.99, they gave us a baker's dozen, and there were not two bagels that were the same! I'm wondering if it was because it was a holiday week, and people were out of town, so maybe they had more bagels left over? But typically when I've ordered TooGood2Go from other bagel spots, they give me multiples of the ones people no one wants, like blueberry or egg. But at Knead A Bagel, there were so many different varieties - a bialy, everything, strawberry, rainbow, sesame, cinnamon raisin, pumpernickel, just to name a few. The bagels still tasted fresh too. Would visit again, even if it's not through TooGood2Go. I think they also have breakfast sammies, so I wouldn't mind getting one of those next time. Tip - there's a small lot in front, or street parking. It's far enough away from the main area of Rutherford that you should be able to find street parking if the lot is full. read more

Making it 3 stars only because the business did try to remedy the issues. This Knead A Bagel is located on Park Ave, central to another very popular and well established bagel spot in town, so I was eager to check it out. Came here around 10:30 & it had a decent number or people. During our time there, it got incredibly tight. Think it's been open around a week. The location is quaint, with a small bar area with about 5 bar stools, so def a more grab & go spot. It was superrrrrrr busy so it was difficult to get by in the tight space and no one could figure out where the line started, ended or who was in line to order or who was waiting. We were not acknowledged when we entered at all and had to wait around 10 minutes to order. The woman who was taking orders was also toasting bagels & doing other things. Finally, our order was taken & the woman seemed confused. She wasn't sure if they had certain ingredients and didn't seem sure about what the orders came with etc. After we ordered, we asked if we should pay - but we wanted coffee, too. She told us the coffee was free (very nice!) Not sure if it will be an all the time thing. We waited 40 minutes!!! We began to notice that all the people waiting were people that weren't there prior. We asked about our order. The woman we spoke to went to the back & said they were working on it then. we waited maybe 5 more mins. For the long wait, they were gracious enough to give us 2 more bagels and also charged us less, which they did not have to do. We appreciated that but I do have some suggestions: 1st & foremost they need to establish some organization. The lady who took our order, in my opinion, was doing too many other things. The line was super long but they can make the line start & end & waiting area more intentional with signage, maybe. Also, having a number or taking the last name would be helpful instead of calling the whole order out every time something was ready. When we got home - we noticed my bagel wasn't even wrapped well with enough foil. Prob because they were rushing to get it out. Overall, not the best experience but I will give them the benefit of the doubt as they just opened and I will be trying & updating my review soon. read more

This bagel place is new to Rutherford! It is in a great location on Park Ave, and even has a small parking lot. The inside is small with a few seats at a bar top. They do however have some outdoor seating which will be nice to sit at during the summer months. My wife and I ordered 2 bagels with cream cheese and both were good. The price was also cheaper compared to others nearby. The best part about the shop was the service. Everyone was extremely friendly. We had our dog with us, and they brought our food outside and even gave us some turkey bacon for our dog! We will definitely be coming back again to try more of the bagels and other menu items. read more

Love this place! The ambiance is nice. You can sit at the window counter and watch Park Ave. The owner and the staff are very nice And helpful. I was asking how the buffalo chicken sandwich was and the owner said she would make one special for me. It was delicious!! Love the bagels here they are amazing . I think if they just pay attention to the outside seating once customers leave . It usually covered in trash which is disappointing that adults leave such a mess after they eat. Also there are flies by the trash can once you walk in . First off , this store is brand new. Everyone should have patience and give them time to settle before judging them. It gonna take a couple months to work out the kinks and get a proper system going.
