Fast and friendly service at the front counter. We had the brussel sprout salad which was flavorful and crunchy. We chose the Gallagher white pizza with five cheeses as a break from traditional red sauce pizzas. This was a delicious pizza and we love cheese. It is a salty pizza (not overly so, though) due to having five cheeses. We also like Gorgonzola cheese (which is a similar flavor profile to blue cheese, so keep that in mind). We had previously been to the original Knead Wine in Middleburg several times and finally had the opportunity to come here for lunch. We love that this location has an expanded menu and definitely that they have a dining room. (Wish the other location had the ability to dine in as well) The staff here was very friendly and helpful. We placed our order to include getting a pack of their cookies. The pizzas were made immediately and we were served in about 15 minutes... they came out piping hot and smelling amazing! They looked outstanding too! Flavors were incredible! Their crust is really some of the best in the Northern VA area. We recently spent a couple of weeks in various regions of Italy enjoying pizza at many places and I have to say Knead is very comparable. The tomato sauce is perfectly sweet and so tasty as well. Everything was great. But we were full after enjoying the pizza, so we took the pack of cookies home. We enjoyed only 1 the next day, which we split because they're so huge! Those are great too! Think of Knead as a wine retailer and pizzeria. They excel at both. The wine selection while relatively small is solid and competitively priced. For pizza we recommend the Hendrix, which comes with shiitake mushrooms, fennel sausage, mozzarella & provolone and a garlic puree. Total flavor bomb on a perfectly cooked crust. I tried their pizza today and I was blown away. You can tell they care about their craft. The ingredients used tasted top notch. Bravo !! This has become my new pizza place in the area! Neat little place, with a great wine selection. Came in for lunch with the better half on a weekday. You order at the counter and they bring your food. The Caesar Salad was really the star of the show. One of the best I've ever eaten, honestly. We then split a pizza and it was the perfect amount of food. We liked the pizza but thought that the crust in the middle was a bit soggy. Flavors were very good and the outer portion of the crust was nicely thin and perfectly chewy. This is also a great place to get a great glass of wine, which we did and weren't disappointed! They also sell wine by the bottle to take home, neatly lined on shelves, priced either $20 or $40 dollars. Both the bottles purchased ($20 range) were good for our taste. They serve only "individual" size pizzas and they are about $20 each, but they could actually be split between two. The dough and ingredients are top-notch. With a variety of recommended pizzas and the ability to build your own, you cannot go wrong. It is located in a food strip mall section of Purcellville but they spruced it up with upscale table service and decorations, which makes it nice. The service is good. First of all, it's good pizza. Gluten free crust especially is exceptional. Certainly better than all the other pizza places in town. Is it worth $20+ for a small, thin pizza? No, IMHO. Was it tasty ? yes, but toppings were pretty scarce and crust on the soft side. I also thought it was a bit pretentious that you can't customize toppings except when you make your own pizza-- but are limited to three. Also keep in mind that this is a counter ordering establishment... you get your own water, pack up your own leftovers. Not really sure who I am tipping and for what service. The pizza was delicious, even after sitting for a half hour. We had cheese, pepperoni, and sausage pizzas. They were all great. This is was some of the best pizza we have ever had. So I waited a few weeks to let my visit to truly set in. Let's get right to the food and wine. The pizzas are great. We had three and EVH was the best. In fact the gluten free crust that they offer is the best GF crust I have ever eaten. The wines, all 3 of those were great as well. You literally walk through their wine room and pick a bottle, $20 or $40 selections. Yes, there is a $10 corkage fee, but at $30 or $50 for a bottle with dinner is the most economical bottle around at a restaurant. The staff was fantastic and knowledgeable (very) with the wine. The ambiance is very basic with inside and outside seating. But let's be honest, I'd love the time and effort to go into the food and wine, and it does. So happy to no longer have to drive to middleburg to get our knead wine fix. Ambiance is great--love the casual yet still perfect for a date night setup they have at this location where you can pick a great bottle of wine (we typically look for natural wine, and they luckily had a couple, hopefully more in the future!) and order your food at the counter and find a place to sit outside on a nice day, pizza is great as always, the brussels salad we got with it was fresh and delicious. The woman that helped us was super helpful and knowledgeable about the wines, food, cocktails, etc.. This is definitely a new favorite for me in pville. read more
