Watch out, look out; sandwich's ahead! Needed to grab a quick bite for lunch and thought I would try out Kneader. If you have not been there it is a cross of a deli/baker. Kinda like Panera. These are more like a typical sandwich on fresh bread slices. I ordered the club, minus red onions. At right around 12 dollars it was a bit on the high side on the sandwich scale. The club was quickly prepared and I was off back to work, bummer right? Once at work I dug in. The sandwich was pretty good, but not up to par with a true deli that slings grinders all day, every day. I was stuck in the drive in for 45 minutes with only 2 cars in front and and a few behind after not being able to even order anything because they had NOTHING good available at 7:00 pm and they were SO INCREDIBLY SLOW. Every time I stop here for dinner, they are out of things. 2 out of 4 times that I've stopped here specifically for tomato soup, at around 6:00pm they are out of it. I usually come to this location but lately it hasn't been the best. I usually order the chicken sandwich croissant and the last two times I ordered it, I tasted more bread than chicken salad. They put a scoop of chicken salad at best. I usually get it paired with their soups but their soup lists have also changed. It used to be that they had chicken tortilla or beef stew but now they have only like 3 or 4 generic soups to choose from. I tried it one more time, because third times a charm right? Unfortunately it was a fail. The chicken salad itself was good but the croissant tasted stale. I paired it with the side salad and a bowl of broccoli and cheddar soup. The salad was gross, I couldn't finish it. It had bits of slimy lettuce and tasted old. The broccoli soup was also nasty. It tasted like gruel. It made me sick. I only ended up eating a small portion of the whole meal. I don't know what happened to this location. Someone below in the comments mentioned change in ownership and if that's the case it shows. Less ingredients, less quality. Not to mention some of the staff, particularly a cashier looks like she is ready to walk out any day now. Unfortunately I'll not be ordering from this location any longer. After too many disappointing meals, it's just not worth it. Every time I go to kneaders bakery, I order, bacon, egg, and cheese croissant. The Bacons always undercooked. The eggs are over cooked and hard. And when I complain, they always say we got it, sir. While the food remains good a well meaning but naive manager is now allowing homeless to hang out in the dining area. How many will you allow? What level of stench will be permitted? While my well mannered dog is likely not allowed inside this homeless man's dog was! Eating surfaces and dining tables sanitary levels are def in question now. These CA type policies will nose dive a business's profits and popularity. Most homeless are in that status due to addiction and mental health issues and a refusal to accept help. There are a ton of resources in the valley to help homeless, they seldom take advantage. These type of policies lose customers and enables addiction and untreated mental illness. There once were two stars, and then there was one. Business trainer Jeffrey Gitomer says, "Your customers are judging every aspect of every transaction and rating everything, from the friendliness of people to the ease of doing business, to the quality of product to service after the sale." Clearly, Kneaders corporate never had any training. I'd implore you to read my past reviews, and gauge the decline so evident at Kneaders. I assume changes came with the addition of a new COO, but I don't know for sure. Really, does it matter? What matters is the close, and Kneaders can no longer do it. Mr. P was craving the Chicken ala Mondo salad. I wasn't, but thought I'd grab a soup. I'll also add that since the portions are around half of what they once were, Mr. P finds himself still hungry after said salad, so I'd also order him a soup. I order online, pay, and head from a long day at work to pick up our dinner. Now usually, if there is no soup left, or they are out of ingredients, someone calls me right away. No call, so I'm glad. No! Not so fast, young grasshopper. I arrive only to be told that there are ZERO soups. Do I want a salad instead? Not really, but I'll do the Turkey Sunflower, and will pay the difference (if there is any after 2 soups being canceled). Nope, not allowed. I can have a plain salad, or a Greek salad. Um, no. A young man who I assume is the night lead or manager comes to the window. What I'll have to do, is pay for the salad separately, and wait however long to be refunded for the soups. Well, if I have to. But, there's a catch. They only have one type of dressing left, and it's not the one that goes with the salad. Hold up! Wait a minute! I catch it. "So, the Chicken salad will not have the Poppy seed it's supposed to?" Nope. Was anyone going to tell me, or just try to slip it by me? No, Mr. P is allergic. If you have nothing I've ordered, please cancel my whole order and refund my money. We talk briefly about since the administration change, deliveries are less, not enough product is ordered, and staff is directed to give less product. Poor kid. The staff are put in a bad position by the new regime here. And here we go again! The boss will get the note, and will take however long to refund my money. Geez Christmas! The refund got processed, according to the email I received, but it made me laugh. "Customer no longer wants order: soups were sold out." Oh, if that had been the only problem! So... went back to Kneaders after some time away from the restaurant. Better half got a large avocado salad with added chicken (paid extra for the chicken). I ordered a Cafe Sandwich (pastrami on sourdough). Afterward she got the carrot cake and I got key lime tart. As other recent reviews, I was quickly disappointed at what had happened to this location. Other reviews are complaining about the location being very very skimpy, cheap on the amount of meat they are putting on their meals. This was no different. My better half's salad, that we paid for chicken, had a ounce of chicken at best! My pastrami sandwich had 1 slice of meat! ONE! They aren't the cheapest place, and honestly Sprouts across the street give you ALOT more for your money. I questioned the change at the register and it turns out the excellent couple that managed this location unfortunately moved to another state. The new manager came in and is "clamping down" on the amount of meat in their meals. Sorry, 1 slice of meat, or 2 ounces of chicken is unacceptable for their price range when most places put 3-4 ounces on a decent sized salad. She isn't clamping down on excessive meat, she is clamping down on the quality of their product and penny pinching. What a shame, I used to like them... now I'd give them zero stars if I could. One slice... it was like eating bread and mayo. This manager, or a Kneaders if directed by them, seriously needs to reevaluate how they have trashed their product. Save yourself time, and head over to Sprouts. Same price point, way more selections, better meat (Boars Head), etc. The pastries were still good, but I noticed they were low on a bunch of options. They used to have much more it the bean counters that took over scaled them back. Update - 11/13/19 - went to grab a key lime tart and cinnamon roll. We stopped going to to Knesset's after they destroyed their salads and sandwiches with cheapness. The cinnamon roll seemed the same and tasty, but the key lime tart is now super thin. It used to have volume. It is really a shame what the corporate Knesset's has done to this once good chain. This Kneaders is my favorite! I go at least twice a week for either breakfast or lunch-sometimes with someone, often times alone. My food is always delicious and consistent. But what stands out at this Kneaders is it's new manager! I have been going for many years, but Alan has upped the game at this location. His positive attitude and friendly customer service has rubbed off on the other employees, even the one that we couldn't get to act like she enjoyed her job! I so appreciate Alan as I feel customer service at so many places has become a "lost art". Alan makes me feel welcome and appreciated each time I go! We had been driving by Kneaders Bakery & Cafe for quite some time and finally tried it. Needless to say, it was our first and last time at Kneaders! First of all, if you are younger than age 70, you'll be the youngest person in the entire restaurant! The restaurant was extremely dirty with food crumbs all over the table tops, food pieces on the floor, black grime all over the floors, dust particles flying through the air....it was absolutely disgusting! The health score sign in the window said A. We could not understand how this restaurant had an A rating. Later in the evening we looked up the health score online and found out their latest rating was actually a D!!!!!!! They obviously just left the A sign up - what liars! All we ordered was 2 southwest BBQ chicken salads and 3 slices of cheesecake to-go. It took about 20 minutes to get our to-go order. I don't know how it takes 20 minutes to make up 2 of the exact same salads. The cheesecake was already made - all they had to do was put the slices in containers. The wait time was unacceptable, considering the restaurant was not busy! We went to eat our salads, and there was one small piece of chicken in the salads. Not even a serving size! The salads were filled with the core pieces of romaine lettuce - not even edible! The rest of the pieces of lettuce and greens were so large, you had to cut them and fold them over with your fork just to be able to eat them. Now with the cheesecake....ordered 3 slices to-go. Instead of receiving 3 separate pieces, we received 3 slices all in one chunk of cheesecake. When we ordered, there were exactly 3 slices left, so instead of providing us with the last 3 pieces, the workers at Kneaders were too lazy to cut the slices. They lazily shoved the rest of the cheesecake into a to-go container, leaving the customer to do the slicing. The price of the cheesecake slices was $16 and the slices were not even that big. The total for 2 salads and 3 cheesecake slices was over $40! We feel robbed considering the dirty restaurant, falsely advertising a poor health score in the window, the wait, and the quality of the food! I have always liked Kneaders, great salads, sandwiches, soups & friendly staff. After a long day, it has been nice to use drive thru, 2 combo meals and a salad for the 2 of us. I do not have to cook, it is not greasy fast food and both of us always have enough for tmrw's lunch-total win win! But the last 2 times we were so disappointed at how very little meat both Sammie's had. First time, thought maybe a fluke and tried again. The 2nd time there was not even enough on both to make one decent sandwich. Like a few tiny slivers in the middle of the bread. At $45-50 for 2 drive thru meals one would expect a portion of meat, not a sample. You lost us as weekly customers. read more

Very busy and understaffed. The workers are working as fast and hard as possible. When I went they only had one person in the back and one person taking orders on the headset while taking the register orders. The food here is great I typically come for the soup and bread. Inside is nice to sit I always get confused because I think they have a gift section where you can go and wrap what you've bought like the little gift baskets they have. read more
