Best bagel shop in Bushwick for sure, maybe all of Manhattan even. Their bagels are huge and fluffy but just dense enough. No need to toast them if you eat same day, but they taste great toasted the day after too. Lox and scallion cream cheese is on point and their regular plain is also deliciously creamy. I think they give you a free bagel if you order half a dozen because they gave me 7 for the price of 6. I'll take it! Service is very quick and prompt. Bagels are extremely fresh! I asked for a lightly toasted everything bagel with tuna and it did not disappoint. I also had some egg salad which was a bit bland in my opinion but a pinch of salt fixed that right up. Part of my order was wrong but that was ok because I gave that part to my coworker who had forgot her lunch at home. This is the only reason why I gave them 3 instead of 4 stars. Food was good, but was an overall terrible experience. At 7:47am, I called in an order of the loxury, 3 loose bagels, a 1/4 pound of cream cheese, and 2 drinks and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. I arrive around 8:20am (30 minutes after placing my order) and see a pair of customers who had already ordered and one person ahead of me in the pickup line. After the person in front of me receives their order, I move to the front of the line and wait. There are 5 workers behind the counter working front of house. I stand there waiting while front of house employees walk back and forth, looking up at me standing in the pickup line before continuing on with their day. At 8:35am (45 minutes after placing my order), after waiting 15 minutes without any acknowledgement of my existence, I inform the next employee to walk by that I have to go to work and would like to pick up my order. The employee seems slightly exasperated, but is more than willing to help me. I tell them I called in an order and provided the name it was left under. He walks over and examines the 4 bags that are labeled on the side awaiting pickup. The girl who was working the register walks by the employee who was helping me and he asks her to look for my order. She then examines the same 4 bags and returns with my bag a minute later. She tries to input my order on the register, but seemed to be confused as to how to both read the order on the ticket and input it into the system, so she asked another employee to help her by reading off my order while she input it. The employee she asked for help checks my order before handing it to me and pulls out a hot drink that I had ordered a 24oz iced version of. He remakes my drink and I walk towards the exit (20 minutes after arrival, 50 minutes after placing my order) while checking my order, only to find out that they gave me a 16oz instead of the 24oz I ordered. I double back to the pickup line to wait again, with the incorrect drink and my bag in hand. I stand there for another 5minutes at the front while front of house employees not only continue to ignore me, but they were actively taking orders from walk-ups, who were being served within minutes. I honestly would have been able to get my order quicker if I had ordered in person instead of calling it in. Eventually, the employee who remade my drink asked me what was wrong and I informed them that I had ordered a 24oz, not a 16oz. He insists that the ticket said 16oz, but I tell him I ordered a 24oz. He eventually remakes my drink and I finally leave after a 30 minute in-person ordeal and almost an hour after placing my order via phone call. The food was good, as always, but the whole point of calling in an order is so that you can come and pick it up relatively quickly. I wanted to shop small and support local businesses, but this was definitely not worth almost an hour of my time. read more

Not quite a four star bagel, but close enough to it with good cream cheese. The bagel is relatively compact, but not overly small, and lacking a center hole. Too, the crumb was relatively dense, while being reasonably soft and chewy. Flavor development was decent, but not as nutty/wheats/sweet as it could've been. The crust was shiny with a good bite, although it lacked that great crisp texture truly excellent bagels have. The cream cheese was light and flavorful, and applied evenly and in the correct amount. You will love their bagels and food! You will hate the chaos and inefficiency behind the counter. We arrived to an unnecessarily long line because their service speed is ridiculously slow, despite 9 full-time employees behind the counter. Their process to make the bagels and sandwiches is awful - each order is done by one person who runs back and forth behind the 25 foot long counter grabbing ingredients placed on opposite ends. For example, to make a bagel with cream cheese and jelly, the employee grabs the bagel from the basket in the middle of the counter, then walks to the other end of the counter to add the cream cheese, then walks to the far other end of the counter to kneel down to a refrigerator to pull out the jelly. All the while bumping into traffic jams of other employees running back and forth behind the counter. All the ingredients for commonly ordered bagels should be next to each other. Additionally, some sandwiches require a microwave or grill. Instead of working on parallel task while the meat is heating in the microwave for two minutes, our sandwich maker stood at the microwave doing nothing. The same person making your sandwich will then move to the far region behind the counter to ring you up. This creates a bottleneck of people waiting to ring up people, leaving times with no employees making sandwiches or bagels. They're all waiting for the cash register. Dear owners: your bagels are great, but please better organize your food prep process!!!! Your employees will be happier with less chaos behind the counter, your customers will get their food faster, and you will make more money serving more customers per hour. read more

Right off the bat, pretty bad communication skills from some of the front area employees. Had to describe what I wanted 3 times and they still got it wrong. Once they discovered they messed up they were super apologetic and offered accommodation which was considerate though. Bagels are mediocre, PLATES ARE HUGGGEE!! Like half of it is potatoes tho. I got "The Leo," with two eggs, lox and onion, and my partner got the cream cheese and jelly bagel. Both were good, but I recommend getting cream cheese on the side along with The Leo to break up the dryness. The store itself is total sensory overload, especially when busy. You can barely hear the workers behind the counter so you'll need to raise your voice and speak clearly. I'm so happy the neighborhood has gotten a bagel store! I've been coming here almost weekly to buy a dozen bagels to get me through the week. All their bagels are huge, pillowy and soft! They're delicious! This bagel store has a really good selection of bagels: whole wheat everything, onion, jalapeño, cheddar and bacon, sun-dried tomato, etc. I also really like their bialys. For $13.20 you get a dozen bagels (plus 2 free). It's a great deal! I've been going on the weekends and there's always a line. It goes by fast and the staff is friendly and helpful. They also have other breakfast foods like pancakes and waffles and even though I've never tried them they look delicious. They have seasonal menu items and seasonal cream cheese flavors too. They have a great selection of cream cheeses! I'm so happy to have this place nearby. I was sad for so long that there weren't any decent bagels nearby, but now I'm living the bagel life. read more
