The hotel is beautiful. I loved the room. The bed was comfortable, although the room was chilly and I needed to ask for another blanket. I still had to sleep in heavy sweatpants and sweatshirt. We rented the one bedroom suite since my son is 10 and it says there's a fold out sofa bed. We discovered that the mattress of the sofa bed is enclosed in very thick, noisy plastic and no sheets are provided. So we folded it up as it was unusable. On the thirds day of our stay, I asked the front desk if housekeeping could come while we were out. They looked at me like I had two heads. She asked me when I had arrived and when I was leaving. Our visit was 5 nights and 6 days. No one had come to check on paper products, towels, and trash, which seemed odd to me, as a guest renting a suite that had paid over $1000 for our stay. The front desk informed me that I am responsible for removing the trash and that if I needed bathroom or facial tissue, she could give me a box or roll to bring up to the room myself. The kicker for me though is that in the room there's a table tent with a QR Code for "cashless tipping" of the housekeeping staff. Also, neither the oven or stovetop in the kitchenette were working and my husband had to repair the shower. All in all, it's a very beautiful hotel. I understand it's an older building too, so the situation with the stove, shower, and temperature were not a big deal. However, a hotel that is touts itself as top tier for service and excellence needs to provide proper bedding and certainly be making housekeeping visits daily to freshen towels, beds made, remove trash, and replenish paper products and toiletries. Expecting your guests to be hauling their trash out to the dumpster is absurd. read more

Poor service by staff and absolutely no service recovery from management. Pleasant on the surface level, but only to placate and make you go away. There was no follow-through with agreed-upon actions. When attempts were made to follow up with management, they were ignored. This was until the Better Business Bureau became involved, which, of course, then dissolved any goodwill. Unfortunately, it was the only way to get any response. This used to be our preferred hotel to stay at while in Milwaukee due to the beauty of the building, the charm of the area, and its location, but there appears to be a change in management. We will never return. I suggest the Pfister Hotel 5 minutes away. read more

If you like eclectic and quaint hotels, this may just be your jam. Get brought back in time where key access cards are a thing from the past and you actually get a real room key to open your door!! . The door creaks open, kind of like the opening to a scary movie and miraculously reveals a pretty modern looking room(minus the window air conditioner). If you aren't afraid of being haunted it is pretty cool architecturally and okay for a night stay. Beware if you buy third party as they do make you sign a type of waiver stating prices bought on third party sites may be different than the real time rate and can be adjusted(ours were not so no big deal). Also parking is $21 a day(not the $20 as they do tax you for that as well) but well worth it as it was relatively easy to go in and out. read more

I don't usually review a place before I've settled in but here we go... In short, I don't like it. It's my fault that I chose a hotel that was not on the preferred list but the hotel I love was full and the others were significantly more than normal. Me being a good financial steward went for the lower cost. I looked online using the travel tool and they had great pictures. The pictures they show are of their suits which looked okay. So I arrive and I'm in a basic room. Damn, this was not what I was expecting. Walking in through the lobby I was like oh this is nice! Then I walk into this Motel 6 level room that is sweltering hot from the ancient furnace being cranked up to hell. It's not going to cool off anytime soon so I figure out how to turn the thing off (I think), crank the window ac unit and open the window. A cold compress and now my core temp is back to normal. Ugh. Do they expect anyone to actually work in this dark dungeon nook for an office space ? And if you turn sideways you can walk through the bathroom which only takes about 1 step from the door to the backside of the tub. Why is the carpet so dirty? Like they haven't shampooed the carpet in 2 years. Ugh. Well now I know. I travel here a lot but this will be the only time I stay at this place. I'd ask for another room but it's probably not reasonable to expect it's better than this if they can't get this one right. At least the lobby is nice. One star for that. There are so many other nice hotels in Milwaukee, give one of those a try because this one my friend is not one of them. Ugh 6 more days. One star. 4 hrs later.... Okay so remember I opened the window and cranked the AC. I decided to go get some dinner at an amazing place (I'll tell you all about that later) while the room cooled down. I return and the place is still hot. I cranked the furnace to off like they told me but that thing just kept on cooking! I returned to a room that is still warm, and I can't sleep with the window wide open. So I call the front desk to figure out how to get the furnace to turn off. The guy says don't worry about it, we will put you in a cooler room that's a little larger. Like that they just made it right, without me even asking. Now I'm in a jr suit (I think )and it's much nicer. Is it the best suit I've ever stayed in nope, but it's what I expected when I booked here. I really like the space and it has plenty of character. I found myself talking about the next time I stay here which reminded me to update this review. +2 stars for the better room, +1 more star for the amazing service. Thank you! read more

BOOK AT YOUR PERIL I arrived with my daughter for a doctor appointment on Wednesday (at the same time as the RNC convention). The room was booked 3 months earlier. I arrived early to check in and was told that my room wasn't ready yet. So I waited for an hour and a half at the restaurant of the hotel only to be called on the phone by Larry Robe, the general manager and told that the rooms were oversold by a third party: Expedia. Therefore, I would need to go to another hotel, a Double Tree right within the security perimeter for the RNC conference (no view of the lake or park, just concrete and the sound of helicopters and security). I protested that I shouldn't have to bear the brunt of their mismanagement, that I flew from Dallas and that I shouldn't have to move. He said that it was my fault for trusting Expedia (!!!) and that he can't produce a room out of thin air. We were only staying for one night, so my guess is that they gave my room to a more " important " person or that they could rent it for more money than what I paid 3 months ago. He hung up on me because he said I was rude to him and that he kept repeating the same thing. Before hanging up, he said that if I could get myself all the way to the hotel from Dallas, surely, I can make the effort to go to that other hotel. I left the restaurant and found Larry sitting behind a desk at reception. He said that he didn't have to talk to me and that all I had to do is go to double tree and that I was lucky because it is worth more that I paid 3 months earlier for my room. He added that I would get a $200 credit to eat and drink. I said there is no way I would eat and drink that much and also, why would I want to eat and drink only at the doubletree. ( I ended up treating complete strangers with drinks at the double tree to make use of this credit). My husband, who had made the reservation also called and Larry hung up on him too. Moreover, right before Mr Robe hung up on my husband, my husband asked him to speak to his manager. Mr Robe answered that he was the GM and therefore my husband was out of luck. I think this gentleman thinks he can get away with murder because we haven't found (yet) the persons he answers to. Because of security surrounding the RNC, the Uber had to drop us at a corner and we had to walk. I also struggled the next day to get an Uber to the hospital for the same reason. What shocked me is how they can just get rid of a mother and daughter (who is sick) without a second thought. That they did not take responsibility (Expedia's fault). They did not find me the equivalent. The Double Tree had les amenities. It shocks me that they would tell me that after I arrived to check in. It is completely unacceptable. After taking an Uber, I found out that this happened to several people during the RNC. Larry offered that I stay one night for free if I come back but how could I trust them again? I would NEVER risk it again. Addendum: I contacted them via Instagram and the guy tried to shame me for actually using the credit (see picture). I don't think they could be more crass if they tried. Addendum 2: the response to my Better Businsess Bureau complaint stated that there is no room for " abusive , vulgar language ". I have never uttered a rude word. If he can produce any evidence of that, such as a phone recording, that would be brilliant. He also states that he moved me to a hotel with highway access "per my request". I did not drive. He is either confusing me with another customer or his is lying. He is not taking responsibility for failing to provide for the room. Still no apology'. Don't go there. read more

I stayed here after flying into Milwaukee and although initially the check-in staff was less than helpful, some staff were better and the accommodations were reasonable for the value. Here's my complaint: I had a bad fall and sprained my ankle coming in the back door from the parking lot. After using my hotel key to open the door, I stepped inside and there was a single step down immediately after the threshold. There was NO warning and I went down hard on a cement floor. This was the first day of our trip for a family reunion. The guy who helped us check in was not interested, however when my husband went to file an incident report, the lady who was working the front desk was very helpful. My foot is still swollen and sore but I am hoping to recover without further medical treatment. Here's a picture of the threshold that took me down! They need to make people aware of the step or it's going to happen over and to other people going through that entrance. I can understand that, but if it is beyond a person's control, a refund should be honored. Everyone else has had no problem refunding our money. Currently staying here. Yikes! - the "junior suite" is a hilarious joke that doesn't match a single one of their online photos. The foot of the bed is literally less than a foot away from the door into the room, my side of the bed is jammed against the wall with no side table or lamp. The other side of the bed has no lamp either. You either have to sleep with your water / remote control / phones in the bed with you, or drop them on the ground on the one side of the bed where there is enough space. - front desk lady was the most indifferent human I have ever interacted with. - room door nearly impossible to unlock. - ice machine broken / told it will be at least 24 hours until the ONE ice machine has ice? - hall smells like weed. - the room furniture was completely askew when we walked in. Bedside table, coffee table, side tables, all at odd angles and not where they should be. - dust on everything. - drinking glasses in the kitchen leaking water all over the shelf, as if they had been soaked in water and not at all dried before being put there. - stains on refrigerator shelving. - the lamps are on the opposite side of the room from the bed. There is nothing lighting-wise to reach within distance of the bed. - mattress is awful. - can hear neighbors talking through their door, and ours. - stains, water marks, and fingerprints on all the hardwood furniture. Our family stayed in this hotel the weekend my brother got married. They have a lot of amnemities to include a salon and a restaurant that has an amazing brunch! The rooms were about average. They have real keys, which is kind of unique in this day and age. I was able to book my salon appointment when I booked the room. We stayed here one nightand enjoyed ourselves. Since we arrived later in the evening all the street parking was taken and we had to pay $18 to park in their lot. Many hotels in Milwaukee charge much more so we were ok with it The room was very unique, see my photos, with a small kitchen area as well as an eating area and desk. The bathroom is very small, the toilet paper roll is RIGHT NEXT to the toilet to the point where you have to lean a little bit to unroll it. We decided Thursday to stay in Milwaukee Friday night so we got a pretty good price for the room. We weren't looking for anything luxurious and enjoyed the quaint surroundings. Stayed in room #620 for the Milwaukee Wine Festival on Aug. 13. Boyfriend wasn't sure about letting me pick the place to stay (I tend to prefer to "wing it" which he thinks is code for "sleep on a park bench" but boy was he ever pleasantly surprised with my choice of the Knickerbocker. First this to know: the Knickerbocker is part hotel, part condos. So you have full-time residents living in this building as well as a steady stream of internet-savvy (It wasn't listen in Kayak, Expedia and the like-- I really had to dig around to find this place) people coming in and out. For some people this is their home, not just their home-away-from-home so the "hotel" vibe wasn't as present as in, say, a Doubletree or a Hilton, and it was a quiet and restful place to stay. It was nice to be in an off-the-beaten-path place that didn't look beaten up. The clerk at the front desk was ridiculous (in a good way) He was good-natured, kind of goofy, but very friendly, and he made it seem like we just MADE HIS DAY by walking into the hotel. I don't know what he was on, but I want some of it. The room was clean, decorated, and very homey. It was like house-sitting for a friend (with really good taste in decorative pillows.) with a kickass flat screen TV and GIANT walk-in closet. Seriously...the closet was as big as the bathroom. You could fit a full-sized bed in there. I was distracted by neat features like the molding (I took pictures, see below) and an old-fashioned dry cleaning passthrough in the door. (which explains the coffin-like doors for those reviewers who don't know how to READ the giant instruction signs inside them), and a kitchenette (complete with a waffle iron, which left me with a 'huh' expression on my face). The only con for me was the bed. It was kind of hard... or maybe just stiff? I'm not sure, but I think it was some version of a tempur-pedic mattress. It did no favors for my back, but after being out of bed for a couple hours, I realized that my back felt better than it had in days. So I'm not sure if I'm a hypochondriac or my back is just falling to pieces. Maybe Yelp can help me find a chiropractor before I return to Milwaukee! Parking was awesomely easy. We arrived around 4 and found a (FREE) parking spot right in front of the building. There's tons of free parking all around the hotel, so I'm not sure what previous reviews were referring to when they complained about parking. Oh, and it was only $99 to stay on a Saturday night! Compared to even the most generic of hotels nearby (Comfort Suites, anyone?) It was the least expensive option by far. read more

My experience at The Knickerbocker Hotel has to be up there with one of the worse hotel experiences ever. This hotel is basically an old woman with makeup on. She tries very hard to look her best with makeup & jewels but at the end of the day, she's still old & not looking her best. Sorry, it's the truth. When I arrived at glance I thought, cute old hotel. This should be cute. But I was wrong! With people actually living here, they do whatever they want. We had our next door neighbor smoking cigarettes with his door OPEN so the entire floor could enjoy the smoke and smell. The water also went off for an entire day and night with the staff not doing a thing about it or trying to accommodate me to at least make me feel better. Also the rooms get insanely hot because they take out the air conditioners and unless you have a breeze coming in, you're in for some sleepless nights. Speaking of which, the construction outside constantly always serves as a nice wake up call. The room we were initially in had disgusting stained carpets, stained and dusty drapes, and a bed that was lifting up on the foot of it from being laid in so much. I had to see a physical therapist after my back was messed up from just two nights on that bed. We were housed here not of our own choice for 3 weeks so you can imagine the frustration. Don't stay here ever. Find a hotel 30 miles away and drive if you have to. But do not stay here. Easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. All we were missing were bed bugs. Which is why I'm giving it a 2 instead of a 1. RUN AWAY! read more

My friend and I booked a room recently for two nights, prepaying fully for both nights in advance. We unfortunately couldn't make it the first night as our flight heading out to Milwaukee was cancelled due to severe weather. We spent the majority of that night on the phone with the airlines trying to figure out alternative flights for the next day. When we arrived at the hotel the following day and got to our hotel, no one was actually at the hotel reception for the first ten mins of our being there. When the one person on staff finally turned up, she informed us that because we didn't turn up the day before, our room was sold to someone else. She also repeatedly put the blame on us for not calling ahead of time. While I could understand this argument if we hadn't paid for the room, this was not the case here. The room was entirely paid for. I don't understand how hotels can sell a room to one person, then sell that exact same room on the exact same night to someone else. It's clearly double dipping. It is worth noting we used a third party service (Expedia) to make this reservation. The person on staff tried to argue that we hadn't paid the hotel any money, we had only paid Expedia. This is a disingenuous and disappointing claim. We may have paid Expedia but Expedia pays the hotel. This policy of selling rooms twice falls entirely on the hotel themselves. The very least I would expect is a courtesy call to confirm we no longer needed the room, but we didn't get that. To exacerbate things, the person on reception was apathetic, unapologetic and repeatedly said we should have called (why do we need to call when we have paid for the room? And why couldn't the hotel have called us?). In short, we are out significant money for a hotel room we never got. We were also left in a stressful situation to try and find another hotel room at the last minute, on a weekend where the majority of Milwaukee hotels were sold out. And the person on staff was unhelpful and rude. This was a very avoidable situation and handled exceptionally poorly. read more

Some of the reviews on here are a little extreme . Let me start off by saying this is an old hotel . We came in for the weekend and I would compare it to the Congress hotel In Chicago. It's older, antique, etc. obviously the air is not central air, the locks on the doors are old fashioned locks, the elevator is older. Overall, it was fine. Room was clean with fresh towels, makeup wipes, soap, etc Location was good and close to everything, there was a parking lot for $18 a night which was convenient. The room was fine. I wouldn't recommend it for a honeymoon by any means but if you don't plan on spending a ton of time in the hotel, it does the trick . The only big downside I would say is the noise. We had a group of girls across the hall from us who got home around 1am, and it sounded like they were in our room. Very thin walls / doors, but once again, the hotel is old so that is expected. read more

I had a great experience at this hotel. I stayed with my boyfriend for 4 nights. We booked through Expedia and it was very reasonably priced. We left on Saturday because Saturday was expensive to stay there. The lobby of this hotel is very grande. We loved it. The service we received at the front desk was easy and friendly to check-in with. I needed to print our zoo tickets and they were very helpful at printing them at the front desk. Parking was $18 a day. You use a key fob to enter and exit their parking lot. This made it feel secure. We never went without a parking spot. Our room was awesome! I'm not sure if it's because we stayed for four nights or not. Our room had a king sized bed with a massive tv, couch and coffee table area, bathroom with a tub/shower combo, and a separate kitchen. It was like our own little apartment. The tv selection was great and the room was clean. The door/Wall was a little on the thinner side as we could hear everything going on in the hall. The appliances were a little outdated but it all worked! They included plates and cutlery which was awesome. They also provided pots and pans to use the oven/stove. Internet was out for one of the days, but they had a heads up posted about it and our house keeping didn't stop by for two of the days. But we also didn't inquire about that for them to fix it. It looks like from some of the other reviews that some people have had bad experiences here but I would definitely recommend this, based on my experience. read more

Very disappointed in the Knickerbocker's handling of the block reservation for our wedding weekend. After deciding to change dates, confirming those dates, amount of rooms and rates with the Knickerbocker and being told I would have a contract to sign at the end of the day, I never received said contract and instead days later received an email from management saying they aren't taking block reservations and will not send me a contract. No apology. No explanation of why these actions were taken. No explanation of what our options were going forward. When the above was questioned, I was accused of "accosting" the general manager and the only "apology" I got was "apologies that you were unable to see from our perspective." Which is a non-apology. Everyone do yourself a favor and skip this place especially if your hoping for a good place for a group. There are plenty of hotels in Milwaukee that treat their customers with respect and clarity. read more

I love this old historic condo/hotel building, it's got such unique character. The support staff is great, the location is so convenient, it's a good choice for an extended stay. The bar is nice, friendly, and it's rather secure. Same problems of parking as the rest of downtown near the lake. The doors are early 20th century, a two way valet compartment so you can leave your suit for dry cleaning, I don't think they have that service any more and Juneau Village Drycleaning is a short walk down Juneau but it's just an example of the old architecture and design that I find so wonderful read more

I booked this hotel for a weekend stay. I saw that there were some bad reviews, but took them with a grain of salt due to the low price and nothing too alarming in regards to cleanliness. The hotel itself is very beautiful. When you step into the lobby, you feel as though you are transported back in time. Our room was clean and large with a kitchenette, small dining table and desk/work area. The most cool thing about the hotels were the doors to the rooms, which opened both ways for back in the day when hotels offered dry cleaning services for guests. The location of the hotel is excellent, close to many attractions, shopping areas and restaurants. Unfortunately, this is where the good ended. Knickerbocker On the Lake does offer $18 a night parking, but they do not forewarn guest that parking is very limited. When I arrived to check in at 5:45pm on a Friday, I was told that there were no spots left and that I would need to find street parking. I do not mind street parking, but for overnight parking you need to call your vehicle into the city and between the hours of 7am and 7pm there is a 2 hour parking limit. The young man who checked me in and gave me the parking info did not seem to care or understand that the parking situation is inconvenient for anyone staying a weekend at the hotel. He was all around unhelpful and seemed to not want to be there. The second staff member we encountered was Jackie, who was at the front desk on Saturday and Sunday of my stay. As with the first front desk employee, Jackie was unhelpful. Additionally, Jackie's appearance was incredibly unprofessional; poorly dyed blue hair and multiple rings through her nose. I might have been able to get past Jackie's unprofessional appearance if it wasn't for her smug attitude, lies and lack of customer service skills. She is not the face/person that I would choose to be at the front desk of a hotel, especially a historic one like this. This was strike two against Knickerbocker On the Lake. The rotten egg stinking up this establishment seems to be general manager Larry Robe. If you take a few minutes to look at the reviews, you can see that many people have had negative run-ins with Larry Robe and I wish I would have paid attention to these reviews before I stayed at this hotel. Larry is rude, patronizing and disrespectful. He has no sense of customer service, nor does he seem to have any management skills. Unfortunately, Knickerbocker On the Lake is independent and not associate with any other hotels, including other Knickerbocker locations (Chicago and NYC), so there is no one to keep Larry in check. This seems to have resulted in Larry abusing his power as general manager and has given him free reign to harass guests. It is my opinion that Larry Robe should not be the general manager of Knickerbocker On the Lake, or any establishment for that matter, and would really benefit from some customer service and management training. Overall, my advisement would be to not stay in this hotel and spend your money elsewhere. The staff is rude, unhelpful and patronizing. All around, the Knickerbocker On the Lake seems to have many poor and sketchy business practices. I would suggest looking elsewhere for logging in the Milwaukee area. What would have been a very nice stay was ruined by very poor customer service. My wife called the morning of our stay to inquire about parking. Staff assured my wife parking would be available. Upon arrival a dismissive staff member told her she was too late and the lot was full. He offered her no suggestions on what to do. When she asked he said park on the street and try again early in the morning. That's exactly what we want to do... get up early on our weekend away. Then he told my wife there was a ramp 5 blocks away and offered no directions. You can have the best hotel in the world but if your customer service isn't there what's the point? Facility is rich in history and architecture. However, customer service is terrible. Biggest issue was checkout. I went down at 8:40 to checkout and return the old school manual keys. There was a note saying staff would be back at 9am. Meanwhile, the staff was in an adjacent room having a meeting while 5 different guests were waiting to checkout. Someone interrupted the staff meeting to tell them about the customers, and the person in charge just shrugged and said - I know, we put a sign out. I was late to my 9am meeting because of this ineptitude. I also called and left a message for the GM, who has not found the time to call me back in the last 7 hours. For starters we got the charred buffalo wings- very flavorful and well cooked 4.3/5 For my main course i got the new york strip- The flavor was good very thick and juicy, if i was you i would get it cooked a little more then what you usually order; if you get it rare get medium rare if you like it medium rare do medium and so on For the side, green beans and potatos- They were pretty good but not the best 3.8/5 The bar tender was very nice and our food came out pretty quick i give their staff a 4.4/5 Over all the whole experience was great and i really enjoyed my experience i give the entire experience a 4.2/5 and would love to go back again another day read more

Nice vintagey hotel in Milwaukee. The room was cute, and it was nice to have a sink, tiny stove, and real glasses for our drinks! This was a no frills place- no free breakfast included. Also, what was really annoying is that the parking costs $18 a day... BUT it was sold out. The street parking is only for a few hours. We couldn't find anywhere to park!! We ended up parking at a hotel garage over a mile away and taking an Uber back. Pretty much the opposite of convenient. The nice part was we were walking distance to a lot of great bars, restaurants, and breweries so we put in a lot of footwork and just walked everywhere all weekend long. So take this review for what it is... If I knew the hotel had a potential to have no parking spots for us I wouldn't have booked it. read more

This hotel is gross. When you walk into the lobby it looks pretty nice. When we got into our room we noticed there was multiple different hairs on our bed. They had us change rooms. The next room we had looked fine but when we went to use the bathroom there was crap all the way up the toilet. The soap was empty and the shower toiletries were almost empty as well. Ive had it way nicer at a holiday inn.. To pay 190$ for this is absolutely ridiculous. When I brought the keys down in the morning the front desk lady was so rude and made it seem like I should've had the guy come up and clean the toilet? I was told when switching the rooms there wasn't any cleaning crew to clean the rooms so obviously I wasnot going to ask if the room could be cleaned. I haven't heard anything back yet but I will update WHEN I get a response. I will continue to call everyday until someone gets back to me. I highly recommend staying at the plaza which is only two blocks down. Our friends said it was very nice. read more

This place was great! Really, I can't think of a thing wrong with it. We didn't even need to pay for parking - just parked on the street for free. Check-in was smooth, they gave us an ethernet cable so the internet worked great. Hotel has a funny, semi-haunted and "quaint" look to it, which I really liked. Comfortable bed, furniture that looks "real," not like it just came from some giant manufacturer of crappy hotel furniture. The bedding matched the desks matched the cabinets - who thinks of things like that in a hotel? Kitchenette was great - we didn't take full advantage, but since we'd bought some cheese and sausage we were awfully glad they had a fridge, plates, and knives! If I'm ever in Milwaukee again, I'll stay here and bring some stuff to make real dinner with! Lots of channels on the TV, couldn't hear a soul all night, peaceful and enjoyable. I'd recommend it to anybody staying in town - it's affordable too! read more

Overall, I enjoyed the stay in my cozy little room at the nifty, historic Knickerbocker on the Lake. I stayed in #417 for some hard-earned "me" time. For one person, for one weekend, this efficiency was ideal. Clean, modern bathroom with eco-friendly shower head; desk, recliner, TV, bed and small dining table in the main room; fully-functioning kitchenette with coffeemaker; wireless Internet access, radiator heat. The Knickerbocker is close to public transportation and within walking distance of a few cultural activities and a shopping center. Although I didn't eat at either of the restaurants, they seemed pleasant enough and had appetizing menus. I did knock one star off for noise in the hallway, because I could hear pretty much whatever was going on outside my room. There was an isolated incident of a loud, upset teenager one morning - no harm done personally, except I was disappointed that none of the staff intervened. Otherwise, the Knickerbocker staff was helpful without being all obnoxious about it. I rolled into Milwaukee fairly late (past midnight), and the night person set me up with a park in the hotel's outdoor lot ($10/day) along with my check-in. Check-out didn't even require any actual human contact. Lovely stay. read more

I stay here often. Every room I stayed in so far has been wonderful, and one time they even moved me from a great room to an even better one. They are spacious, clean, have fully equipped kitchens. In some rooms internet has been spotty, but it mostly works great. Old world charm accompanied by supreme cleanliness, order, and a great restaurant downstairs.The spa facilities are also very good, and the in house taylor Ana is a true master. read more

I really don't even want to give this hotel one star, but it was very characteristic and the lobby is beautiful. Other than that, I give absolutely nothing. Negative stars if I could. The pictures on the website are deceiving, you won't get what you see. When we got there, we thought the room smelled really strange. The hotel creeped me out when we first walked in. We put that aside and started setting our stuff out. I checked the cabinets and found the glasses were wet, the pot and pan were wet and literally dripping water. Gross. I wiped down the countertops and found the wipe was brown, so obviously the countertops didn't get cleaned properly. With COVID you'd figure they would be on top of that. The back splash of the kitchen had what looked like blood ?? Or some pasta sauce flung everywhere and not cleaned.. the stove had previous grease spots from someone else cooking ...speaking of cooking food in the kitchen, we opened the silverware drawer to find a ROACH!!!!! A BIG ONE!! It ran to the back of the drawer and escaped God knows where. There was roach poop IN the silverware holder, and what looked to be bed bug shells maybe?? That was my last straw. I do not recommend staying at the hotel.. it's super dirty and the staff is beyond rude. You won't get anything out of them and they really don't care either. We definitely overpaid for that room and had to take the loss because staff did nothing for us. To keep up on a beautiful building, and not have bad reviews, I'd suggest hiring nicer staff, hire people that aren't lazy and will actually clean...have a better cleaning policy & TAKE CARE OF YOUR PROBLEMS!
