While vacationing in SLC, we were looking for a local sandwich shop near us for lunch. Thanks to Yelp, we ended up at Knickerbockers Deli in South Jordan. Finding the place was the hardest part as we drove around the building nearly twice before we realized the deli must be accessed from inside. Once inside, we loved the natural light pouring in and the cleanliness and openness of the deli. We took a few minutes to go through the menu as they have a lot to offer- many standard and specialty sandwiches, soups, salads, burgers and more. The lady helping us at the counter was patient and amazing, helping us to customize our order with a smile the entire time. We each ordered a different sandwich- an italian sub, a cheesesteak, a hot ham and swiss and an El Cubano. We ordered combos complete with deli chips (bagged but yummy) and a fountain drink (Coke products!) Everybody enjoyed their sandwiches. The only minor complaint during the meal is the Italian Sub had too much bread, or could have used more meat to complement the bread. If Knickerbockers ever wanted to place a location in the Phoenix Metro area we'd love to have them! read more

This is a great place for a quick lunch after a bike ride as it is right off the Jordan river bike trail. The place is large with plenty of seating. The service was great. I had the Reuben sandwich and the wife had the French dip. We also tried the wedges. The Reuben was tasty but could have used more meat. It was cooked well and the bread was not too hard. The wife said the French dip was good but lacked a bit of flavor. The potato wedges had an interesting flavor or it was the fry sauce. Not really sure but they were good. This place is not on the road so you will have to look for it in the back of the office building read more

My friend and I decided to look for a new place for lunch and decided on Knickerbocker's Deli. The place was bustling during the lunch rush, but they were knocking out food to beat the band. The place had a relaxed feel to it with nice wooden tables all around. After ordering, we sat down and in under 10 minutes the food arrived. I had the "The Godfatha" sandwich. It has loads of pastrami, salami and pepper jack cheese with toppings really piled on. My friend ordered the "Mister Ed" sandwich, loaded with roast beef, grilled onions, portobello mushrooms, and provolone cheese. The sandwiches were incredibly generous. (see pictures below) and will definitely feed a large hungry person. Waste no time trying this delightful deli at your earliest. We give it to our highest rating. read more

This is a gem off a place. The sandwiches are made fresh to order and three ingredients are fresh as well. They have a wide variety of menu options for burgers, sandwiches and salads. They also have some specialty drinks in the form of smoothies and coffees and Italian sodas. I've been here four times now and tried didn't items each time and all have been great. The meals come with pickle and homemade cookie! Hot and cold sandwiches! Cute place to eat in outside of you dine in. I still have tons more sandwiches I want to try. This spot is tucked inside an office building and every sandwich we tried was excellent. The only downside is the ventilation. It could definitely be improved as we left smelling like we'd been working over a commercial grill. On the plus side, we even got in a game of foosball while we were there. read more

I was riding my bike on south Jordan trail when I spotted the sign for knickerbocker deli. It is on ground floor of a building with different businesses inside. It was very busy. I watch them make salads and they looked fresh and yummy healthy. I had a sandwich and it was on point!! It will be a regular stop when I ride my bike. read more

Okay, I might have just found my new favorite deli. Hear me out, I have a couple things to say about this place. First, I'm kicking myself that I didn't try this place sooner. I have probably drove by this area 5000 times the last few years. I have to admit, what stopped me was the poor commercial advertising and signage. "Must just be some small cafeteria in one of those corporate office looking buildings?" I would tell myself this every time I saw a tiny sign on the roundabout. Anyways, I workout at LIFETIME and something kept popping up on my local yelp feed. "Fine, I'll finally go check it out." After my workout I drove over to the relative area where I knew it was. I saw a tiny name on the standard boring signage out front. (Building Facing NorthWest) Parked in the guest lot and made my way to the back of the building. I would recommend parking in the back, but the lot was FULL. Not a far walk from the front door though. Second, their menu is HUGE! They have something for everyone: my picky kids, vegan, vegetarian, meat lovers, breakfast, coffee, burgers, hot and cold options. I bought two sandwiches to try and didn't "scratch the surface." I went in at 11am and it wasn't busy with the lunch rush yet, which I bet they most definitely have. I ordered The Godfatha, TO-GO, and it also came with a pickle, cookie, and a tasty Italian dipping dressing on the side. The sandwich was big and loaded with quality ingredients, I only ate half. Bread was thick and the perfect firmness. Now this next part will amaze you. I ate that half at 11am and it was fully loaded, minus the Italian dressing that comes on the side. I tried the other half 6 hours later having my reservations about it still being good. The sandwich was still excellent, no soggy bread corners or wilted veggies. That......does.....not.....happen with that type of sandwich. I got on yelp right away and wrote this. lol. 5 stars, I will be back with family. read more

We came to try out their pastrami offerings, including the Reuben and the Godfather. Both sandwiches were delicious. The Reuben had a perfect combo of ingredients, although I'd prefer less of the 1000 island dressing, which I'm sure they could accommodate next time. The godfather included other Italian deli meats as well and was a cold, fresh sandwich. Both delightful and a great option for pastrami lovers everywhere. All sandwiches come with a pickle and a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie. The cookie tasted better than I expected. The service was both friendly and prompt. This was my first time eating at this location but I used to work in the research park near the UofU and I ate at that location regularly, so I was familiar with their menu. I got one of my favorite items, the Godfatha which is their souped up Italian sandwich. This sandwich is really great but there are two things that annoy me about it. The first is that I don't want to order it by actually saying "Godfatha" because I think my poor attempt at an Italian-American accent would embarrass everyone in the restaurant. Okay, now for the real one, they overstuff this thing and serve it basically open-faced. There is no way to eat this sandwich like a sandwich. Since Knickerbockers Deli are in business/office areas their primary clientele are professionals and office workers (but they still serve me despite the fact that I am neither) who are grabbing a bite to eat on their lunch. Who wants to spill a messy sandwich all over their shirt minutes before that all important post-lunch meeting? On this particular trip it seems like they picked out all the banana pepper butts (that's what I call the pieces with the stem on it) and put them on my sandwich. It would be nice if, as an employee is putting those on, they simply discarded those pieces because I assure you no one wants that part and anyone making a sandwich for their self would not use those pieces. The sandwich is extremely flavorful with top quality ingredients (minus the banana butts). Service is always very friendly. My one warning is that the messy food issue is not isolated to this one sandwich. Most of their more premium sandwiches and burgers seem to be made intentionally messy. This place is a little hidden gem It's a little hard to find, but they have plenty of signs directing you there thru the businesses. Staff is super friendly and nice. Really great quality sandwiches. I was surprised at how many different options there were for it being a business office deli. I think that there are healthy options and also less healthy options here. The less healthy options are really heavy, so I would recommend sticking to the lighter options. This place is also spacious so it's great for meeting up with groups. Service was excellent. Now, I have to warn you that you will leave smelling like fried food. The menu is at least 40 items and there are a variety of sides you can choose (carrots, cookies, chips, pickles). There is also a range of healthy and def less healthy options (grilled cheese). I tried the caprese grilled cheese and I was a huge fan, for sure not healthy and maybe a bit on the oily/buttery side but its a grilled cheese so not sure what I expected.
