I recently moved to Draper and as a Vietnamese person am so happy to have viet food in town that's authentic and delicious. I love their cold cut Banh mi sandwich, and their pho is amazing too. The broth is rich and flavorful. The service is always great and I love to see its run by vietnamese people. It's always a chill vibe in here. This is our little spot when we are feeling Viet! Came here for some hot soup on a cold Thursday night! Arrived around 5:30ish and were the only diners until about 6:30ish. Got a little busy by the time we left. Staff were friendly and checked in to make sure we were good. The pho was quick, hot, and delicious - we both finished our bowls :) they do have slightly smaller portions than other places, but I think it's perfect! Came here for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. The portion of food was well worth the price. I ordered the 5 spice chicken on cold noodles with salad. Just popped into Oh Mai to grab a quick lunch during the weekday as I was visiting the area. There weren't too many people which I was surprised because the food was amazing! Just what you need for a quick lunch to fill you up! I got the Garlic Ribeye Banh Mi, and it honestly is one of the better banh mis I've had, may I say the best?! I really wanted to love this place, but it was just ok. My friend and I went for dinner-we'd never been before, so it took us a few minutes to look at the menu and get familiar with it. The staff ignored us until we figured out what we wanted. I would have loved some interaction to maybe get some suggestions since we were first timers. Once we ordered, the food came out in just a few minutes-much faster than we expected. They don't have fountain drinks, just soda in a can. I opted to try the coconut juice, thinking it might be good. If you have this option, save yourself and don't do it. It is nasty and tastes like dirty water. Both of our meals were ok-not phenomenal, but not terrible. My friend ordered a soup and the meat pieces were so large she had a hard time eating it. She mentioned that it would have been improved if the meat was bite sized. It is obvious that aesthetics are not important here. Good brisket pho. I was impressed with how well it was packaged to go. The broth had Saran wrap around it so it wouldn't spill, the noodles were packaged separately, and all of the veggies were packaged together too. The broth had a great flavor to it. My only complaint was I had to pick off a lot of the fat off the brisket. I would definitely return and order pho from here again but also have the understanding that I will need to take the brisket out of the soup and remove all the fat. I love the Oh Mai near my house and was excited to see that one has opened near my workplace. Something new to me: jackfruit. I have read about jackfruit being used in place of meat in various forms and was eager to try it. Does it taste like meat? Alone, no. But in the sandwich, surprisingly, yes. Out of all the locations this is by far my favorite one! It's a very original one and the one that I've tried first. My very favorite pho is made right here. The ribeye pho is the best. My husband though really likes the chicken one so probably both are really really good. This place is really clean quick and their broth is to die for. Oh mai goodness I have found my favorite Vietnamese sandwich spot. They are so quick and friendly. And the garlic short rib bahn mi is amazing and I could eat it every day. They stuff it so full with all the best veggies and meat and sauce. I ordered take out at the counter and waited maybe 2 minutes. There are some small table seating options available for dining in and water dispenser with cold water and Sriracha on each table available. I'll be back to try more on the menu! read more

Covid precautions: dining room and fountain drinks and tap water are not available. Everyone (including staff) is required to wear a mask. You can order takeout in the store or call in to place your order. It started to get cold on Saturday, husband wanted some kind of comfort food that was warm and delicious. I wanted to try something new. Oh Mai isn't new to us, but it's been years since we visited the 33rd south location (it was packed and sold out of most food). We got the meatball and brisket pho and the garlic beef banh mi. Kids got a chicken pho and beef vermicelli bowl. The winner was the garlic beef banh me, the meatball and brisket pho was a close second. The broth in the pho (all of them) was delicious and flavorful! I wasn't the biggest fan of the chicken, but I think that may boil down to a personal preference. Everything was packaged neatly and organized to go. This is probably the first takeout order of 2020 (of all the places we've done takeout) that didn't forget something or get something wrong. So that's definitely worth a star. I love this restaurant! Mixed feelings on this place. Got pho and a sandwich. The pho was a nice portion size and the broth was some of the best I have had. I feel like there could have been a little more meat in it but still very good. The sandwich on the other hand was terrible. Huge hoagie roll and literally nothing in it. You couldn't see if there was anything in it without opening the whole sandwich up. Needed way more meat and toppings. I spent $10 for a roll. I was not happy and when I called to ask them why this was there were extremely rude and didn't want to even make the effort to make it right so for this I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning. read more

Oh Mai quietly opened this spot in Draper not too long ago, bringing its growing empire of banh mi and pho houses to five, I think? Love Oh Mai in other locations? Good, because what you're getting here is a pretty straightforward import of their other spots. The banh mi is the big draw, though many do love their pho. I have long loved the S1 and its pork pate, but tried the garlic ribeye again after a long time and found myself really liking the herbal nature of it. I get mine sans jalapeño, not because of my wussy mouth, but because I think the pickled veggies are so good that I don't want the distraction of the hot. Don't overlook the vermicelli bowls. Sometimes they're just what you want, when you don't want your carbs in the form of the chewy french roll the sandwiches are known for. There's plenty of seating here, though I suspect they won't do massive crowds of people. It's actually become one of my favorite places to grab sandwiches to go, especially in the summer when you just want to be back on the trail, or at the park, or just enjoying your nights with a banh mi in hand. read more

Found this place on Yelp and had no idea they had a Draper location. Arrived before 8:30pm with the open sign still illuminated and the lady at the door said "we are closed". Tried to call Oh Mai corporate but no response, also sent an email and no reply. This also happened to the one in South Jordan that closes 30 minutes early. I'm pretty stoked to write this review as I am a first timer at any Oh Mai location. I want to start with portion, man oh man that banh mi was slammed with garlic rib eye meat! I was not expecting to have such a well marinated, tender, juicy and packed crispy baguette topped with a fried egg! [must ask for that to be added]. Banh mi originated from Vietnam and I've had local markets with their own twist on it but it's much smaller baguette with portions of veggies vs meats. Oh Mai has their own marinade that isn't like any other. I'm truly excited to try more of their banh mi's. One thing to note is there isn't a soda fountain dispenser, they serve in cans or free water but I highly recommend having a carbonated drink to help digest and wash down the food. It's nice to have another Oh Mai sandwich spot. This location is the newest one out of all with basically the same menu as the other locations. I am Vietnamese and although I prefer the traditional banh mi, the restaurants twist in Vietnamese sandwiches are all still really good. I usually like to order "The Sinner" which has braised pork belly and vegetables like bean sprouts, jalapeños, and others. It also comes with this chili-like vinaigrette which isn't very overpowering. The ambiance of this place is very nice and relaxing with a decent amount of seating. Their is a section where you can get utensils and water too. It wasn't very busy when I came here, but I know the food is same standards as the rest. The worker who took our order was also nice and patient with us when we were trying to figure out what to order. I know many places aren't as "patient" and you can tell based off their posture and look that they give. I will definitely come back here if I am ever in the area! read more

Oh Mai seemed like a little hole in the wall sandwich shop until I saw them featured on the diner drive-in television show and I had to try it for myself. Maybe it's because I missed lunch that Monday but I ordered the ribeye sandwich and I swear it was the best sandwich I have ever eaten! I love Vietnamese food, and Oh Mai uses really fresh ingredients. The vegetables are always crisp, meats are lean and juicy and their sauces are perfectly spiced.
