My husband and I love breakfast foods, and we wanted to serve brunch themed appetizers for our wedding. Knight's was able to create fun, yet sophisticated, cocktail appetizers for our guests- toasted waffle strips with a bourbon maple mousse & cayenne candied bacon, biscuit & gravy cups, and smoked salmon with cream cheese on toast. (SO. FREAKING. GOOD) We are still hearing wonderful reviews from our wedding guests regarding how exceptional the food was. They served it promptly (which is a big deal when you are feeding over a hundred people), and they were all friendly and professional! Being the Bride and the Groom, it is sometimes hard to find the time to eat, but Knight's made sure food (and drinks!) were provided to us throughout our busy schedule. Not only was the food great, but their communication prior to the big day was impeccable. Any question I had was answered promptly via email, and they made sure to keep in contact with me for several months prior to the wedding. Maureen and the whole Knight's team were a delight to work with for our wedding at the SF Film Centre in August 2019. Between our coordinator, the venue manager and Maureen, I felt like my husband and I were working with a well-oiled machine. The whole team knew each other and had worked together many times before, which made us feel confident and secure with our big-day crew! And now the most important part of the review: The Food. It was phenomenal; we had great passed apps during our cocktail hour and Maureen worked with us to get our menu customized to what we wanted to serve for our sit-down dinner for 120+ guests. Working with Molly, Maureen, and the entire Knights Catering team was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process. We originally began working with Molly for our wedding scheduled in mid-june and had to majorly pivot as a result of COVID-19. In the months leading up to our wedding, their team invested an incredible amount of time and thought into helping us create a special day that would be safe, beautiful, responsible, and as close to original vision as possible. This included a visit to our new venue (my parent's backyard), completely revamping a menu + layout, and transitioning all food presentation to individual but beautiful packaging. About a week before our wedding of 25 guests, it became clear that the addition of Knights 12+ person staff would put us over the Alameda County restrictions for outdoor gatherings. Molly and Maureen came to us with a well thought out plan and options for how they could safely contribute to our event. This meant coordinating all rental load in, setting up a bar + appetizers before guests arrived, and returning the following day to make sure everything was cleaned up. While they were not able to be there while guests were present, their desire to still provide as much as possible made it clear they were willing to go above and beyond. Above all else, Molly and Maureen made the process of planning a wedding (during a pandemic, no less!) as pain and stress free as possible. They handled all communication and delivery of rentals, sourced all packaging and food, and made every one of our special requests possible. When we asked for personalized individual cheeseboards, they made it happen! Tiny cocktails with stickers? Yes. Recently, we hired Knight's Catering to cater a memorial event for a celebrated member of the Scottish pipe band community. The task before us was enormous because the committee wanted to ensure that the memorial was better than anything our dear departed friend could have imagined and everything that his widow could hope for. From start to finish they were an AWESOME partner to work with in the planning, preparation and execution of our April 2018 wedding at the Kohl Mansion in Burlingame, CA. We had several recommended catering vendors to choose from and after going to many tastings and catering meetings, it was such an easy decision to go forward with Knights. This review is way too long overdue as our wedding was on July 22 so apologies to the fantastic team at Knight's! Maureen at Knight's Catering was referred to me by a coworker who is family friends and has been a client of theirs for decades. I am eternally grateful for the referral! As 2 semi-clueless grooms who have never planned anything of this scale we came into the process shy and a bit scared. Those fears though were quickly allayed when Maureen assigned us to event coordinator extraordinaire, Crystal Gomez. Crystal quickly took charge and from the first meeting she was fantastic to work with. We got quotes from 2 other vendors but we didn't even bother going to meet with them after meeting Crystal at Knight's office - we knew we wanted to work with her and Maureen to plan our big day. Among Crystal's many gifts, the one my husband and I most appreciated was her honesty. As most weddings go, we wanted to do as much as we could within our budget and from the get go, Crystal was upfront about the costs for everything - where we could save, where we should spend a little more and which vendors (lighting, rentals, draping, etc.) were worth the money. Majority of the cost for our wedding went into the food and service and I'm glad we decided to work with Knight's for two reasons. First, the only thing we needed to worry about was choosing what we wanted to serve. We left the rest in their capable hands and we were not disappointed. Of course, we stressed about decor and table seatings and family but worrying about Knight's was not on the list. Second, we have been to our fair share of weddings that have served typical "wedding food" - dried out steak, main course portions small enough to count as appetizers and veggie/cheese/meat platters that have sat outside for too long - but not so with Knight's. From the service, to the presentation, to finally sitting down and getting to dig into the food, we felt like two kings for a day. We still have family and friends raving about the food! Side note, the portions they serve are huge. To top it all off before we headed to the after party, Crystal pulled me aside and shoved a giant bag of leftovers in my hands and said, "Trust me. You'll need this later." I was sure she was wrong but when we got home at 3:00am all we wanted to eat was the leftover mushroom ravioli. My wife hired Knight's catering for our wedding and they were fabulous! We had tasted at a few potentials and had a couple more scheduled after Knight's, but the moment we saw the effort they put into both taste and presentation during our test-run ended the search. The event itself went off without a hitch and received rave reviews for both quality of food and service. We worked with Maureen Kelly and I can't say enough about her attention to service. There were a few times in the evening where I definitely appeared (and was) lost, and it was apparent that Maureen's primary focus was on the groom and bride, as each time I was in lost mode, she quickly, quietly and calmly approached me and asked, simply, "how can I help you." She immediately made me feel comfortable, helped me if she could, or found the person I needed. She was truly amazing. As is often the case, neither my wife nor I got enough time to enjoy our full meals. Maureen had packed a beautiful picnic basket with fruit and cheeses, little sandwiches made from each of the meat selections we had ordered, slices of each of three types of cake we had, and included a bottle of champagne for us to enjoy when we had a breath at the hotel room. I cannot say enough about the entire experience we had with Knights Catering, Maureen and her entire staff. I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again. Having to plan a wedding and spend lots of money wasn't exactly our idea of "fun". However, once we found Knight's and specifically Crystal, we felt much more at ease. If you want to be able to trust that not only the food will be delicious but that the space will look beautiful and everything will be under control throughout your big day, I recommend going with Knight's. They are a full service caterer which means they handle rentals too - an added bonus when you don't want to be dealing with several different vendors and many moving pieces. That was a major plus for us. The servers were very professional and helpful - I only heard good things about them throughout and after the event. The only minor complaint I got was that the children's meal wasn't that great - but, oh well, certainly not a deal-breaker. I think Crystal was probably the biggest advantage in going with Knight's. She was very good with communicating via email for several months prior to our wedding answering every last question - when I think about all that goes into a wedding, I'm honestly surprised that she can keep all of the different events straight. I knew she was great before the wedding actually happened but it wasn't until the actual event was happening that I realized how amazing she was. She was handling issues that had popped up before we even knew about them. She really had things under control and it all went flawlessly. I worked with Knight's Catering to cater a buffet-style lunch for a corporate event of 130 people at the California Academy of Science and would highly recommend working with Molly! Throughout the entire process, she was incredibly responsive and really helpful in customizing a menu based on our team's dietary restrictions and budget. The team was super on-top of all logistics, including set-up and food prep/serving. From the first call to the last, they (Kathryn, Maureen, Amanda and team) were on it. The tables were decorated beautifully. Crystal really took the time to learn what I was envisioning for the decor and made it happen. Because I never was the type to spend my whole life planning my wedding, the entire process was extremely overwhelming. I felt as if there was so much that I didn't know and trying to wrangle all of the various vendors together for the big day seemed a daunting task. The bridal shower I held at my flat was also a hit - thanks to Jessica. We did a classy Mexican theme, since the bride is getting married in Cabo, and Jessica's ideas were spot on. Our wedding was 2/22/14 and I am remiss I am only writing this now. At first, we thought a caterer simply figured out what kind of food you wanted, drinks and tablecloths and that was it. We were so mistaken. Jessica was a guiding light during a time that could have been chaos - instead it was bliss. We just recently used Knight's catering for my wedding at the Golden Gate club in San Francisco in February. We had a sit down dinner for 205 guests and Knight's did an incredible job. Our point person from Knight's was Jessica and she was AWESOME! So organized and detail oriented and she was able to keep up with my parent's millions of questions/additions/changes while staying super helpful and patient. :) On our wedding day everything was perfect and she kept us on the timeline we discussed leading up to the wedding so we didn't need to stress about anything. Knight's was even able to help accommodate the fact that I am vegan and Jessica came up for great ideas for some vegan passed appetizers and for our late night treat for our guests, truffled popcorn. I am still thinking about the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce we served during the cocktail hour! I just went to a wedding this past weekend that used Knight's to cater their dinner. I admit that they did an awesome job of service and quality. The dinner was more of a buffet line with four separate small stations set in the atrium of City Hall. There was a wide variety of food. I can't remember all of it but there was - purple potato cake with sour cream and caviar - seared salmon wrapped in bacon - very yummy clam chowder - caesar salad - chicken salad wrapped in deep-fried wonton skins - shrimp cocktail - lamb chops - baked macaroni and cheese The servers were quick to refill and the lines kept moving. I definitely had more than enough food by picking away at every table. I'm strongly considering hiring them for my own wedding. read more

I still went with them because I knew I would get great service and food. Jessica was so great to work with. She really knows her stuff. Our wedding guests LOVED LOVED LOVED the food. 2.5 months later, people remind me how much they enjoyed the food at our wedding. They were absolutely professional and delightful throughout the whole process, from proposal, to tasting to event. Maureen and Knight's Catering went above and beyond the call of duty. Our tasting went really well and the chef adjusted certain dishes so they were perfectly to our liking on wedding day. The food was incredible and the coordination of the site, ushering people to the next event, all went very smoothly. We had a few snafu's with not knowing exactly when/where our speeches were supposed to happen during the reception, but it was something that only we noticed. The appetizers were incredible and so were the main courses. They also made sure that we (bride/groom) had plenty to eat and sent us home with a picnic basket of goodies. What a tremendous group of people. I inherited the planning for a corporate holiday party at a venue that I would not have chosen for our group. Jessica was truly outstanding. She assured me the space would be beautiful, was tremendously creative with her ideas and execution while be mindful of our budget, and the food was spectacular. People were amazed at the quality and wide variety of choices she was able to offer our group. One of my most senior executives even asked me about catering so it had to be good. Everything in our large menu was excellent. She managed every vendor every step of the way and took so much off my plate. She was flexible, patient and understanding of my special challenges. I've been responsible for corporate events for 20+ years and I have never had such a exceptional result. She more than deserved the flowers I sent the next day. If I need catering again, I will simply call Jessica, put my trust in her and enjoy the results. read more

Knight's Catered our daughter's baptism this past weekend and did a wonderful job! Everyone raved about the food! Also, the server arrived early and setup and take down was a breeze. Will definitely hire them again if we have another event! read more
