We honestly cannot say enough about how positive our experience was working with Toast Catering, and so much of that credit goes to Alicia. We went with Toast because they were one of the required vendors at Kohl Mansion. Their quote came back somewhere in the middle of the pack. There are plenty of reviews out there saying they were an incredible value for the price (spoiler: they were right!), so we decided to schedule a tasting. At that tasting we ate some great food, but even more important for our decision, we met Alicia. From the start, she was incredibly personable, kind, and genuinely fun to work with. As we found out later, Alicia is also an absolute professional and logistical powerhouse. During the months leading up to the wedding, she helped smooth out so many wrinkles in our plans that we hadn't even considered. Every single vendor we connected her with - including our month-of coordinator - mentioned how incredible she was to work with, and how she seemingly worked magic (especially whenever we needed to get in contact with the venue). On the big day, the service was flawless and the food was great! We're still getting compliments from our guests about it. We felt so well taken care of, and knowing we had Alicia on our team gave us the peace of mind to actually enjoy our wedding day. We 100% recommend working with Toast for future events. Wow, Alicia and Toast, absolutely amazing! Cannot recommend this company highly enough. I reached out to 5 caterers for quotes for my event. Toast came back mid range on pricing but by far the best in terms of what they included and also what wasn't included. What they were able to include was coordination and delivery of rentals (plates, flatware, chairs, tables, etc.) and what they didn't include is a ton of unnecessary and frankly extremely expensive fees that other companies did. Another "right off the bat" win was how communicative and professional Alicia was. When we started going back-and-forth on email, she called me to clarify my needs and understand my vision. That allowed her to give me a much more customized quote that included all the foods that I liked instead of a cookie cutter version of a menu that was suited to somebody else's tastes. Most other companies were giving me menus with shellfish and prime rib, neither of which I wanted on my menu. After settling on the menu, the rest of the process with Toast was so easy. They took care of all the coordination with my venue directly, organizing all the load in and load out details. Day of, I showed up to staff who was prepared, competent, and went above and beyond to make sure my guests were taken care of. I wish I knew the name of one of the servers who was hands-down the best server I've ever worked with. He somehow knew my brother was the vegan, and brought him his plate right when everyone else was going through the buffet. He also had noticed a guest was not drinking and brought them a cup of the alcohol free drink to their place. One guest asked for a wine that was not on the table and he made an effort to go to the bar and get that for them. Just fantastic! Quality of food was also impressive. I did pass appetizers and a buffet dinner. The past appetizers were all excellent, especially the mango spring rolls with peanut sauce. Yum! I was worried the buffet food would be mediocre, but everything tasted fresh, well cooked (not over or under, which is hard with salmon a chicken!) and perfect temp. I had many of my guests mark on how delicious the food was. My goal is to keep this short, but not sure I can make that happen. Alicia was beyond amazing! If I could give her 10 stars, I would. From the very beginning, she was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and patient with all of my questions (and I had a lot!). Then, the tasting came around. I kid you not that from the first bite of salad, my mind was made up. Then the apps started rolling in, then the miso salmon. Seriously, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Alicia created a fun atmosphere during the tasting. She shared tips and suggestions that never even crossed my mind. Luckily, I had a pen with me because I was taking notes between bites. The food itself was outstanding, seasoned well, presented beautifully, flavorful, and memorable. She made sure that as the bride and groom we ate by leaving apps in the bridal suite. Then her team kept checking on us throughout the night to make sure we had food. Again, the food was beyond amazing...salmon, chicken, pesto pasta..the list goes on and on. But what really set Alicia and her team at Toast apart was the level of care and attention she brought to the entire experience. She went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly, and it truly felt like she was just as invested in our day as we were. We had such a great experience with Toast Catering for our wedding! Alicia was wonderful to work with -- she was incredibly nice, responsive, and reliable throughout the entire planning process. She was also very familiar with our venue, Kohl Mansion, which made the planning process so much easier and saved us a lot of time and back-and-forth. She even joined us for a site visit and came with us to the rental company to look at rental options, which we really appreciated. Toast was also extremely flexible and accommodating. The weather was a challenge and we were not sure if we had to move it inside last minute which was causing a lot of anxiety. Wow! Alicia did an amazing job catering our wedding weekend. It all started with the tastings - her food was excellent, presented in a very relaxed no-pressure environment. She was the 3rd (of 5) we tried, and we were pretty certain we were going to proceed with her after the tasting, .... but since the process is fun (and we had already booked & paid for the other tastings), continuing with the last two only solidified our decision. In the intervening months, she prompt and thorough in responding to the occasional questions we had, and she was flexible in scheduling for site visits to the wedding venue, to our home (for a brunch she catered the following day), and to two rental locations for linens, silverware, etc. The actual day of was perfect - she handled a number of food allergies and restrictions without any issue, the food we had was amazing, and we also heard the same from many of our guests: several commented to us that night or the following day on how great it was, and one wrote us afterward "The food was Out of the World - best wedding dinner I've ever had." Alicia's bartenders did a great job keeping everyone lubricated, including with two specialty cocktails we requested. And she also packed up some the leftovers for us to enjoy for the next few days; our only regret is that we didn't get any leftover wedding cake! The following day, she set up for brunch at our home, and similarly great food. But - since in this case the venue was ours - I can also add that, when they cleaned up at the end of the event, the place was spotless; they even walked the perimeter of our property to make sure no paper napkins or food debris etc. had ended up where it shouldn't. I booked Toast Catering for our intimate backyard wedding dinner. I reached out to Alicia 2 weeks before our date and she made it so easy! Due to the pandemic, we had to pivot our " reception" plans. I worked with Alicia to cater my intimate family wedding, and it was an incredible experience! After rescheduling and downsizing my wedding because of COVID, we had to find a new caterer and my planner immediately recommended Toast. Alicia worked with us to develop a menu that we loved, and even created a special separate menu for the vegans in our family. We did an at-home tasting, delivered by her team, and had such a hard time picking our favorites. Lately they have been doing smaller orders with COVID impacting everyone. So we decided to support a local business and give them a try for their Memorial Day BBQ menu. My-Dung was super responsive over email and the pick up process in Pacifica was easy. We enjoyed the ribs, chicken, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw and brownies! And the cherry on top was the great honey butter they added. The portions were somewhat inconsistent - some seemed like portions for 4 or so people (like the sides) and some were smaller (like 3 brownies), but overall I highly recommend this place and definitely will order from them again as long as they're doing smaller orders! read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Toast Catering & Events gave us the attention and care we needed from the first tasting to the day of the wedding. We cannot thank them enough for all the work they did behind the scenes to make our special day run smoothly. Our tasting with Ashley is really what confirmed our decision to go with Toast as our catering vendor. She was informative, patient, and very accommodating with our concerns. The tasting was very delightful, they give you good portions of the items you pre-select (via email communication) and they we're so sweet to package up the leftovers for us to enjoy the next day. Truth be told, when we had the leftovers the next day and the food STILL tasted great -- that's when we knew we had to seal the deal with Toast. Not to mention, when we were finalizing the sides, My-Dung was able to hold a second tasting for us, just for the new sides to try, which was so accommodating for us! Fast forward few months prior to the wedding, Jim and My-Dung were very responsive to our emails and kept us in the loop. Jim had done many weddings at our venue (Trocadero Clubhouse, Stern Grove) and My-Dung had taken the time to meet up with us at the venue to go over placement of tables/chairs, ceremony and reception items, and the time-table for the day. My-Dung was an absolute sweetheart, and her positive, bubbly attitude really helped to calm our nerves for what can be a stressful time of to-do lists! She also met up with us to pick out all the rentals at Classic Party Rentals, which was very helpful for us first-timers! She does a great job of thinking of things you otherwise may not think of, because she has a lot of experience in the wedding business! Though we were bummed My-Dung wasn't the person who would help facilitate our day, we still were under AMAZING care of Jim and his team. The food was absolutely delicious, just as we had experienced it during the tasting. We will get compliments on the food and how good it was, how much there was to go around. In terms of menu, we opted for the following, for a total of approx 90 guests: Hors D'oeuvres: - Crab cakes + lemon aioli - Stuffed mushrooms with Italian sausage + marscarpone - Truffled fontina risotto arancini + marinara dipping sauce - Grilled peach + buffalo crostini Salad: - Little gem salad with pears, toasted walnuts, shaved parmesan - Sourdough bread & butter Mains: - Double cut New York steak with Brandy Peppercorn Sauce - Stuffed Chicken Breast with spinach, mushrooms, shallots, asiago - Portobello mushroom napoleon (vegetarian option) Sides: - Roasted cauliflower with quinoa and pepitas in lemon cream sauce - Butternut squash ravioli in brown butter sauce and fried sage - Grilled vegetables tossed with olive oil and sea salt The day-of, Jim and his team came on-time and truly delivered a wonderful event for us. And a separate server who came to check-in on our throughout the reception to see if we needed drinks or extra food. The tricky business with a wedding at the Trocadero clubhouse, is that we had to remove half the room of dinner tables during the cake-cutting (outside on the porch) to make room for a dancing area. I could not believe how efficient and smooth that whole process went. We literally all went out to cut the cake and say our thank-you speech and when we returned half the room was cleaned up and ready to party! No hiccups that I sensed at all throughout the day! I was SO impressed by Jim and his staff at Toast Catering. After comparing countless catering companies and their menus, pricing and availability, I picked Toast because they had the largest menu selection and easily cost about 30% less than their competitors. And believe me, they were worth way more. We ordered risotto stuffed chicken breast, pesto ravioli, risotto balls, sausage stuffed mushrooms and a few other things. Everything was an absolute hit. They were able to provide EVERYTHING for every type of menu. In fact, their menu is overwhelming due to the amount of goods you can choose from. Jim makes it easier by helping make suggestions. Their menu is broken up by what pairs with what, and I love how prices are displayed upfront per person for each type of menu. Some hors d'oeurves must be passed by the wait staff, and others can be kept hot on a chafing burner, so served buffet style. We went with buffet style because we had another catering company already which provided waiters. Jim was so honest about pricing, he knocked off some of the cost because we didn't need desserts or on-site staff. Yet the food quality was to die for! They were on time and arrived 11:15 on the dot to begin setting up. Everything was set beautifully - every single napkin, piece of bread, down to every stuffed mushroom and how they lined up the chafing burners. They returned at 5:00 pm on the dot (as I requested) to pick up their belongings. Everyone was impressed by the food, and I was impressed by how easy they made everything for my company party. We hired Toast to cater our wedding in October at Kohl Mansion and they did an amazing job! I must note that someone at Kohl questioned my catering selection since I went pretty over the top price wise some other vendors (a girl's gotta "save" somewhere). Toast was reasonably priced compared to the other preferred vendors and their value was through the roof since the food was delicious and they were a pleasure to work with. I'm SO glad I didn't listen to them and I trusted my taste buds and instant rapport with Ashley and Jim. My fiance and I had a menu that we were set on- heavy hors d'oeuvres and then 3 stations for dinner (southern, pan-asian, and traditional carving). They nailed everything and our friends are still talking about the chicken and waffle bites! Toast also took care of our full bar and even with the extreme winds our night was perfect because Walter and his staff had everything perfectly orchestrated. There were a couple hiccups along the way (a mis-communication about sequin tablecloths) and Jim went above and beyond by purchasing some similar to the ones I wanted. Oh man. What can I say about Jim and his staff and family that hasn't already been said? Toast Catering is the absolute best. They're professional, reliable, and everyone we met was so hardworking and nice. And just as importantly, the food was delicious. I think I'm going to go with an unwieldy bullet list to try and synthesize my thoughts about the best day of our lives, which happened September 20, 2014 at Nestldown in Los Gatos: - The service from the moment you first email them to the final good-bye is absolutely fantastic. I really can't stress how important this is. I wish I could remember the name of the guy who was managing everything day of, but he was wonderful, and totally discreet in asking me about very difficult decisions that I needed to make, like did I want cake now or later, or did I want a glass of wine (yessss, please). - If you get married at Nestldown, know that Toast Catering will go above and beyond what they are truly scoped to do in order to get everything set up and taken down. Nestldown is a great venue and they were also wonderful to work with, but I think they have been particularly selective about their vendor partners, and work with those who will go above and beyond to help extend their reach and resources as a company. - I mentioned I liked the salad dressing at the wedding, and they literally gave me the whole bucket of leftovers and filled tupperware (they recommend you bring it) with delicious food, which I sadly and promptly left out of the tiny mini-fridge. So sad. But the gesture was really wonderful. - The food was SO good. We got so many compliments from our wedding guests, and five months later, they're still talking about how delicious the food was. - The food, specifically: we skipped the appetizers and basically did a Cowgirl Creamery Cheese buffet with fruit and charcuterie, because we are obsessed with cheese and cheese is the best. Huuuuge it. Their appetizers are fine, but where they really shine are with the entrees. We had the prime rib and the salmon with beurre blanc, which was just so good, and the plated spinach salad is just killer. "I can't believe this is a wedding salad," exclaimed one of my guests at one point. Oh, and tortellini pasta salad with green beans. Simple food, executed well - no fussy foams or plated service, we just did a buffet and it was great. We definitely both got to eat and can vouch for it all. - The initial tasting: Jim is such a friendly and fun guy, and the tasting is what sold us. We went to his tasting room in Pacifica, which is this magical space where an obscene amount of food appears. He cooks on the satellite equipment that they'll be using at the wedding, which is great because there's really no bait and switch. If anything, some things were even better at the wedding (maybe it's because it was our wedding day, so everything tasted better?). In any case, we had the space to ourselves and it was something we still talk about to this day. We had a few other tastings with other caterers, but none were as special. - Yes, they're affordable. - Jim's been doing this for over 30 years and it shows. - Ashley at Toast is just great. She's Jim's daughter and helped my maid-of-honor and I through so many decisions, including the equipment rentals. - There was only one snafu, which was with the rentals: we got the wrong flatware (we were supposed to get wooden vintage-y ones) and instead we got these modern silver dappled forks and knives and spoons that didn't really go with the plates, but I don't think anyone but me really cared or noticed. - Oh! And we did the s'mores bar at Nestldown, which was super fun. I decided to supply most of the chocolates and graham crackers since I work for an organic consumer packaged goods company and am particular about that kind of stuff, but the set-up was awesome and the kids had so much fun with it. I contacted several caterers during the initial process of looking for a caterer and some did not even answer my request for a quote because they were busy during the holiday season. Jim and Ashley answered my emails timely and I sent them several emails throughout the year prior to our wedding. Ashley did a great job helping us with planning and coordinating the wedding the day of. Ashley picked up our personal items from us before the wedding and returned them to us afterwards. We didn't have to do anything! She was running the show in the front of house and the back. She even was able to manage a medical emergency so that other guests did not even realize it was happening. She's amazing. Toast made sure my husband and I had time to eat. They brought us the bites from cocktail hour to my bride's room while we waited to make our grand entrance and made sure we were able to eat dinner prior to doing table toasts. We had a busy timeline but we were able to eat. I have heard from my friends that they never got to eat during their weddings but that was not true for us . I heard many good things about the food after our wedding. Toast was so good that my cousin wanted to use them for her daughter's birthday but too bad they were not in her budget. We were looking for a caterer for our wedding and were recommended to Toast by a couple friends of ours who had previously used them for their weddings and they were AMAZING!!! We mainly worked with My-Dung who was so attentive to every single detail of our wedding even though she gave birth in the midst of our planning season. Toast responded promptly and accurately to every single one of our emails and were so flexible and accommodating with all of our requests. We needed to flip our ceremony room into our reception room and I was quite nervous about the timing of everything but Toast had worked our venue before (Mill Valley Community Center) and the day of they did the room flip flawlessly and set everything up in such a timely manner. Their food was also incredible. So many of our guests complimented the food at our wedding and spoke so highly of not only the food but also the service provided by Toast. I really cannot recommend them enough and if I had to do it again I would choose Toast over and over and over again!!! read more

We used Toast Catering for our daughter's graduation party. Alicia was a pleasure to work with! She did an inspection of the site, recommended a layout, and worked with the venue manager to make sure all bases were covered. The staff was friendly and very accommodating on the day of the event and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. Best of all - the food was EXCELLENT! We had Mexican food and it was delicious - top notch quality food. We received many compliments with people wanting to know the name of the caterer. We will definitely use them again. read more

Working with Alicia was absolutely wonderful; Toast stayed patient with us through two reschedulings due to COVID-19. When we finally had our wedding, the food was amazing and the service staff were top notch. Alicia helped with so much in terms of planning and organization of all the rentals, and everything went smoothly on the big day. There was only one issue with the heater rentals, but we talked to Alicia about it afterwards and she handled it well. Would strongly recommend Toast for any Bay Area wedding, and would happily contact them again for another large catering event. read more

We just finished hosting our daughter's wedding reception over the Memorial Day weekend at Kohl Mansion with the catering being handled by Toast. I must say they not only met our very high expectation but surpassed it with flying color. We held our reception outdoor on the patio because of COVID precautions. It was a gutsy windy day unexpectedly. Everything was literally flying off. But the staff of Toast was very proactive and managed everything very well. Everyone and everything was done very professionally. We were all very happy with their service. The food was also amazing including the fresh fruit & desserts stations which were our special requests. Not only they tasted delicious, they were presented beautifully. We received so many compliments on all the food. Alicia was very easy to work with & also gave sound suggestions & guidance based on her rich experience along the way. I am thankful to the entire Toast team for doing an outstanding job, especially the wonderful My-Dung (my main point of contact), and also Ashley Standfield and the waiters and bartenders who worked our event and greeted us with smiles all night. I had time for about five bites of the short rib, but my guests raved about the food and signature cocktails! The chicken and waffles appetizer, the delicious Zinfandel short ribs and mashed potato bar were universally adored. Toast not only brought the flavor but delivered on every front. This organized team set up the buffet and tables beautifully, controlled the flow of guests, and afterwards worked quickly to break down all our stuff in a single hour after dancing ended. Along with my planner Cierra (from Dreams on a Dime), they were my MVPs of the night and responsible for how smoothly the night went. My only regret of the night is that our hotel fridge was broken and we didn't get to eat any more of the delicious food that the Toast packed for us. :( I need to give a special shoutout to My-Dung, my cheerful and patient contact at Toast. As a former food critic, catering was the most important piece of the wedding to me, and where I felt most pressured to "get it right". Wedding food is notorious for being horrible, so I was meticulous and determined to create the perfect plate. The team cooked up several custom dishes for us, and My-Dung allowed me to have two tastings to quell my anxieties. She had her team help us fold our well-wishes cards and menus into the napkins, and even fielded an hour-long phone call from me after work hours, and her advice ultimately helped us shave about $800 off our catering and rental expenses. I took months making up my mind about the menu and voiced many questions and concerns about the food, logistics, budget, rentals, and alcohol quantities - questions that My-Dung always answered with grace, kindness, and calmness. Thank you My-Dung, you are truly incredible. Toast (and us brides) are lucky to have you as a resource. I deeply appreciated her fast replies (quicker as we got closer to the date) and her willingness to reach out to rentals, bartenders, chefs when she didn't have answers for me. Go with Toast because they are the full package. If you are getting married in Presidio, they are also likely your most affordable catering option, and I'm glad to report that they don't compromise on quality or freshness! Toast Catering & Evet Management (TCEM) were the caterers for my daughter's wedding. We had choices of Salmon, Lamb, Chicken or Vegetarian as the main course. The food and wine was fantastic. I had the Salmon which was very delicious. The groom's uncle sat next to me. He told me that he was from the farming region of Scotland where they raised the best sheep. He said that the lamb he was eating was the best lamb he had ever eaten. Thank you very much TCEM for catering such an amazing dinner. read more

So my wife and I had our wedding at the Kohl Mansion just last week. Our conversations with Jim began back in March, when we knew we still had a lot of work to do. After a few emails and our tasting, with no deliberation we knew he was the one. He took us under his wing and guided us the rest of the way, and we felt cared for in a way we never could have expected, and for which we could never express enough appreciation. After making our final selections on the food, the service didn't just end there. Jim offered advice on the table setup, the bar, the decoration, the cake, the lighting, the venue layout, and practically everything else. With our limited resources and no planner, we were able to have the wedding we wanted, thanks to Jim's invaluable input. He just made everything seem so easy. This truly wonderful human being kept us calm and sane during this crazy whirlwind, and to top it off, it was mindblowingly affordable. Now on to the food. Oh man, the food. At the tasting, I was sold pretty quickly after trying what is probably the BEST SALAD I have ever had. The appetizers were amazing, and I was told by countless people how much they enjoyed the prime rib and pesto tortellini. We also requested two rather complex signature cocktails, and the bar staff knocked them out with speed and precision. At the end of the day, we had received compliments on the awesome food, we had received compliments on the impeccable and cheery service, and we honestly could not have been happier with Jim and Toast's services. To say I would recommend them really doesn't go far enough. If I was riding into the apocalypse, I would want Jim by my side. read more

Toast Catering & Events were HIGHLY recommended by my wedding venue staff. My husband and I booked a tasting, and brought our 12-year old to give us his feedback. Ashley at Toast was very professional and accommodating during our first meeting. After this tasting, my husband and I wanted to try other dishes and were met by My-Dung who was just as hospitable. After this second tasting, we had a solid idea of what we wanted to serve. Fast forward to the couple weeks leading up to our wedding: the lines of communication with the team at Toast were open and responsive. They asked very detailed questions about our menu, our centerpieces and table settings, as well as making sure that our special needs were met (i.e. no peanuts anywhere due to allergies, Veg entrée option of Polenta Cakes w/Ragu, which was MY personal favorite). I was left feeling confident with what the team was asking, and how they were addressing my questions, and I felt I was in good hands. At the wedding, however, things didn't go as planned, which is to be expected with big events like weddings. Unfortunately, a couple of the issues were a big deal, but I didn't know about it until after fact. The biggest issue: my Veg guests were never offered the Polenta Cakes as their option. When I was asked by one of the servers what I wanted, I enthusiastically mentioned the Polenta Cakes; he came back with my plate FULL, even claiming the Polenta was on there, but it didn't make it on my plate. Being the bride, I was easily distracted and didn't eat much of my dinner anyway. I really was so disappointed, though, for those guests who went without their main dish. After the wedding, I followed up with Ashley by email and she said she would find out what happened, but I never heard back, even after another follow up email. I will say that our meat/dairy-eating guests RAVED about the food. It really was delicious. Even though I received guest feedback about some of the servers being seemingly challenged, my personal coordinator had kind things to say about the main team member and said he really was a pleasure to work with and did his best to help smooth over some of the things that didn't go so well. My 3 star rating mainly is attributed to the missing Veg option...otherwise the food was beyond tasty and the majorty of my guests were happy, which could be a 5-star rating in my book. read more

Excellent service. Excellent prices. Excellent food. You really can't go wrong with Toast Catering. Jim and Ashely (father and daughter) operation is as good as it gets. We had our wedding at Piedmont Community Hall in Oakland few weeks ago and people raved about the food and how full they were! We requested a special menu as our guests were a mix of Italians and Chinese and Americans and Jim and Ashley executed the most delicious pork belly buns, Italian arancini, bruschetta, American sliders for appetizers; for entrees we had prix fix sit down menu of arugula with parmesan, half portions of salmon and half portion of steak with potatoes and macaroons and chocolate covered strawberries for extra dessert separate from our cake. Their portions are very generous and even when you go in for your tasting, you'll be asked to choose any 5 appetizers, 4 entrees, 4 side dishes, and 2 salads to try. We literally imagined a few bites of each for a 'taste' but be prepared for practically full courses. In addition, they will handle all your rentals - any highchairs, heat lamps, anything you can think of, they were so easy to work with. We wanted to rent burlap table runners, but Jim advised us that we can get it cheaper ourselves and we did just that. Overall they are very honest, their interest is in making your day a special day, and they're extremely professional. So grateful our wedding coordinator referred us to them! read more

Toast Catering & Event Management handled the food and beverage for my wedding, and I could not have been more pleased with the results and more grateful for the role they played in making our day an absolute success. Ashley hosted my now husband and I for our tasting, which made us feel so special and was one of the most fun parts of wedding planning. I worked with both Ashley and Jim during planning, who were each great with working to meet all of our requests. Our wedding was at a German Biergarten in the Oakland Hills, so we wanted non-traditional wedding food, and we also had super specific requests for beverage. The team helped us to source lots of fun beers for a beer tasting, as well as provided the beverage for our custom full bar (and even helped me to get the venue to agree to serve liquor, as previously they had been beer and wine only!) Day of lead Walter and team absolutely killed it, I mean above and beyond. I was so calm and at ease just knowing that I had a team of pros working to make my day so perfect. Setup was seamless, food displays were beautiful, timeline execution flawless, service warm and friendly, drinks delicious, food phenomenal. I can't tell you how many of my guests were complimentary about how beyond good the food really was. Everybody had their favorites, I know I'll be fantasizing about the fried chicken and the mashed potatoes for the rest of my days. And again, the service. Captain Walter with his coordination, servers Peter with his warmth and hospitality and Mei Mei with her meticulous eye, bartender Collin with his delicious cocktail creations and hilarity, others whose names I didn't mention, the BOH, everyone was incredible. Toast catered our wedding at the Kohl Mansion on 9/5/15. We only looked at three caterers, and Toast was a very obvious top choice. We met Jim at the tasting in their Pacifica kitchen. He was so friendly. The tasting had a massive amount of food (probably about half they packed for us to go!). And this is how much food your guests will get (no onne is going home hungry!). Jim has been in this business a long time and knows his stuff. He was also really upfront about when it would be cheaper for us to do alcohol ourselves and when it's actually easier for them to do it. Throughout the planning - we mostly worked with Ashley. She went to Classic with us to do our rentals for tabletop and she did a vendor walkthrough with us. She is on top of everything. As we were doing all our own planning - it was nice to have all their advice and know that they would prevent us from missing something important. Day of - I cannot express how great the catering staff was across the board. Walter ran the show that night. He made sure my husband and I were taken care of (brought us appetizers while we were doing pictures, etc). What was most awesome was that there were a couple places we forgot decorations - and Walter/staff were able to move a few flowers around and put some additional candles in the windows - which absolutely made everything better.
