Everything was super delicious and we upgraded a side of our chips to French Fries. Everything was amazing, all the way down to the house made mayo& side pickles, I wish I could buy them by the jar!! Finally a new seafood restaurant serving ultra fresh and tasty seafood sandwiches like a perfectly fried Copps Island oyster roll. Btw - the oysters are supplied by fisherman one block away. The Copps Island roll is $13 for a fresh buttered and toasted split top roll ,homemade tartar sauce, fresh dill , tomato and little gem lettuce and just flash fried oysters on top- sides of coleslaw, sliced pickles and chips round it out. The restaurant is very casual , super clean , freshly painted and airy seaside ambiance. The staff was very friendly the owner introduced himself and welcomed me- as well as every person who came into the restaurant. I ate the Copps roll in five minutes - it was so good I decided to order a lobster roll $20 as dessert. The lobster roll knocks it out of the park. Again a perfectly toasted and buttered split top roll and packed with warm buttered lobster - chunks of lobster meat. No filler no fuss - this is a perfect New England Connecticut style hit and buttered lobster roll. I encourage everyone to try the Knot Norm's and support this great new local restaurant. I went here for my 69th birthday. It's embarrassing that in a coastal city with a rich history of commercial fishing/harvesting there are so few good seafood restaurants. The food here is very good! I had a dozen raw oysters and a lobster roll (warm in butter, not lobster salad), perfectly executed. My wife had fresh berry stuffed french toast from their Sunday brunch menu that she loved. We stumbled up n this gem while out on our boat one fine day. Lobster, brisket, fish taco with beer wine and amazingly friendly service.

We ordered takeout on Saturday, and had one of the worst customer service experiences ever. It started out harmless enough - the person who was ringing up the order put the wrong order on my credit card, despite the fact that I told him both my name and the items on the order up front. No big deal. I noticed that and let him know before I signed the credit card slip, but for some unknown reason, he was unable to void the charge. The amount charged was $14 more than it should have been. After poking at the screen for a couple of minutes he told me he had put the overcharged amount through my credit card, credited back $10 and was giving me $4 back in cash. He also said that the credit back wouldn't go through until the following Thursday! Given all of the above, I asked him for a receipt for the amount refunded, which should be a standard option for credit card refunds. He told me he couldn't do that and then in a rather surly tone said "What do you think.... I'm trying to rip you off for $10?!". This was a completely unacceptable reaction to a very reasonable request, given the previous series of mistakes and issues with his processing of the order. He reluctantly and indignantly scribbled the numbers on his business card (General Manager) and handed it to me with nothing more than a "Here are the numbers", and walked away. There is obviously both a training and hiring problem in this business. As for the food, the rolls are undersized, the fries were soggy, and the wings had zero salt, making them bland on their own without the oil they were swimming in. Needless to say, Knot Norms is now Not Knot Norms. read more

Lobster rolls off the charts good, 2 nicely placed full claws on top for aesthetics, bun is perfect, hearty lobster chunks soaked (but not saturated) in butter. As good as it gets...keep it up gents! I have enjoyed many lobster rolls from CT to Maine. The one I had at knot's was on another level! The clam chowder was excellent. Nice and thick and filled with clams. Highly recommend this place -- The owner understands attention to detail. The menu is small because they want to ensure the ingredients are fresh and the recipe is well practiced. If you're a foodie you'll enjoy this place. I recommend coming in person, you'll get to see the level of professionalism. The is a selection of craft beers and wines. There are flat screen tvs on the walls. The dining area is thematically well laid out and executed, even the bathroom is super clean and charming. Its indicative of the care they take in the business. The only issue I can think of is the price, but It is SoNo and you also are paying for the attention to detail. Apparently the owner lets his chicken brine for 24 hours just to make a chicken roll. These are the kind of details you pay for in my opinion. I've had three items from there so far. The lobster, brisket, and steak and cheese rolls. I'd say the lobster and steak and cheese are my favorites. The brisket has some minor issue with how moist it gets with the onions/pickels/sauce, it ends up soaking through the grilled roll and making it too soggy for the proper crunch contrast, also its maybe a little too sweet for me. The lobster and steak and cheese roll have no issues at all, both just well executed and balanced delicious little things. Hope this business stays around, they seem to be trying to provide the 11/10 experience to their customers, but this can be difficult to maintain if they dont grow a cult following sooner than later. I had the fish taco. The taco was quite dry and the meal was quite small. Two fish sticks, each the size of my forefinger. Three bites and you're done. The coleslaw came in a little plastic cup the size of a quarter. The place was insufficiently air conditioned and uncomfortably warm. The oysters in the Copps Island roll are "off the boat" fresh and get along very well with the tangy remulade-style sauce. Fried oysters is one of my all time favorite foods and these are probably th best I've had. The buttery lobster roll features huge claw and tail chunks. The crab roll offers a generous and flavorful portion that pairs well with the slightly spicy seasoning. The brisket roll is very good but seafood is the specialty here. The fries were hot and crisp.
