Stopped in for some oysters and a glass of wine. The oysters were fine, but the mignonette left a fair amount to be desired. We also had a cup of the lobster bisque and NE clam chowder... both had a lot of flour in the broth, I guess to thicken it, and it didn't work that well. The wines we had were good. Really cute environment with a small sidewalk-adjacent patio and bar seating all over the interior. The service was a bit - I guess awkward? - at times but overall attentive and no complaints. We went mid afternoon and were the only people there.

Very fresh lobster, melts in your mouth with warm toasty bread! Awesome ambiance if you sit outside, light breeze and you can see the action.

I was expecting more given the other reviews. The lobster roll is market price and today's price was too steep for me so I tried the fish tacos. It kind of felt like they took Gordons fish sticks and put them on stale tortillas. I do have to say the slaw and salsa were both fresh and very tasty, but the tortilla was hard and made the meal really not good for me. I'm sorry to leave this review because I was expecting so much more.

Was looking for good seafood close to 95 in Norwalk and Norm's fit the bill. We found parallel parking on the street close by. Sit down service or takeout, with a small indoor area. There is some limited outdoor seating too. The clam chowder ($10 as of October '24) was delicious, as well as the lobster roll (market price was $38). The lobster roll was a split top, buttered bun with lightly mayo'd meat. Came with coleslaw, pickle slices, and chips. My friend ordered the fried oyster roll and reported that it tasted very good, but didn't have very many pieces of oyster in it.

Every thing was great, seafood was fresh. Lobster was sweet and tender. Fried oyster wasn't greasy. Was crunchy, light and the coleslaw lime and dill are the perfect accompany. The bread is soft and fluffy. The wings were good and messy this is a nitpick but I wish there were at least two flats. The only other issue I had was the table was sticky. I believe the wood finishing didn't cure correctly, this is a pet peeve of mine. But enough critiques the staff was great, food was great. Go and enjoy!

First off this place is small, but has real big flavors. I had the lobster bowl, and was surprised on the depth of flavor not just from the lobster but everything else in it. Service was great. Street parking is available. A must try if your in Norwalk

SOOO GOOD!! Came here for the lobster roll and they did not disappoint. It was $40 for the roll but they put the whole lobster in it, two claws and the tail. It comes in a warm butter sauce and has a special aioli spread at the bottom of the bun. Delicious!! I would come back for sure. Lobster roll was served with cape cod chips but you can switch it out for fries. We also got the lobster bisque to share and it was also amazing. So flavorful and has chunks of lobster in it. Comes with soup crackers. Service was super friendly and youthful. They're fast and it's a nice place to quickly sit down and enjoy good seafood.

Easily one of the best lobster rolls I've ever had and definitely the best one I've had in Connecticut! They have a ton of other options that looked great as well - we tried the steak and cheese which was so good and flavorful. The clam chowder was are also very tasty. Great vibes and attentive service as well!

The food at Oak + Almond is consistently excellent, with large portions providing good value, and this visit was no exception. Appetizer highlights included Brussels sprouts and octopus. Entrees including wood grilled pork chops, chicken Milanese, branzino and Bucatini Allo Scoglio were all excellent. Dessert highlights were chocolate sea salt tart and gelato. It's a little noisy with no carpet or drapes to muffle the sound, but well worth the visit.

My first meal was the Caesar salad, which was outstanding. The poached egg was cooked perfectly with that soft, medium‑boiled center I love. The Parmesan was fresh, the dressing was balanced, and the grilled chicken was a generous, well‑seasoned portion. Simple, clean, and delicious. The ambience is a huge part of the charm -- a cozy, wood‑cabin feel with a great bar setup. You can get full service at the bar, enjoy top‑shelf drinks, and watch the TVs without it feeling like a sports bar. It's a comfortable mix of locals and travelers, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Benny behind the bar was great, and he made the experience even better with fun conversation and excellent service. For dinner, I tried the pasta with sausage, which was flavorful without being overly salty. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The mussels were a standout -- the broth was clean and delicious, with a white‑wine base, a touch of tomato, fresh herbs, and just the right kick from jalapeño. One of the best mussel dishes I've had in a while. The wine selection was also very good and paired nicely with the dishes I tried. After several meals back‑to‑back, I can confidently say this place delivers every time. Great food, great service, great vibe. I'll definitely keep coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a consistently excellent dining experience

What was most frustrating was the complete lack of management oversight--both the waitress and manager clearly saw what was happening, yet neither took any meaningful action. No attempt was made to address the disruptive guests, relocate us, or even acknowledge the situation with an apology. This level of inattentiveness and disregard for guest experience reflects very poorly on the service standards. The food was ok, but it wasn't nearly good enough to justify the high prices or make up for the poor service and lack of concern for our dining experience. There was street parking when we got there but they also have valet and some self parking in the back. As we walked in, the ladies at the host stand were so warm and inviting. They were also the cutest ever. They encouraged us to sit out on the patio versus the bar so we headed upstairs. Our waitress came over with menus and it went downhill from there. She was so inattentive that we had to ask the other waiter for things we needed. He was engaging, checked on us and we even chatted about his Jordanian heritage and my trip there back in December. Our actual waitress, however, checked on the table next to us 6 times (yes I counted) in between her checking on us. Even when I ordered a mocktail, I guess they didn't have the one I wanted so she brought me an entirely different drink without asking me. Then got upset when I didn't want it. The absolute audacity. As far as the food, we got the crab cake, lamb, whipped mashed potatoes and the bread. The food was good but the bread took it to another level. It should have been complimentary though but that's neither here nor there. Overall, loved the experience but wish we had another waitress. She didn't even acknowledge my friend's birthday. Sigh.
