First time here. This is not a chain restaurant which is what made me want to go as you don't find too many small locally owned sandwich places in the valley. Back where I'm from (East Coast) you will find places like this everywhere though, and they are usually pretty good because with all the competition they have to be. That said, this place would fit right in back home. Sandwich was very good, lots of meat and all ingredients were very fresh. Friendly staff that answered my questions patiently. Went there for a Ruben sandwich as they are rated 3rd best in the east valley. Sandwich was very good but to my liking they need a rye bread and more sauerkraut to meat ratio. More sauce little less meat and more kraut and a firmer bread would put them over the top. Their meat and sauce is awesome and so is their customer service. read more

Man, I got so caught up in all the good reviews I didn't read the bad ones. Which, I should've listened too. I had the Philly cheesesteak and it was probably the worst one I have ever had in my life. Everything was bland. 0 flavor in the meat, cheese, everything. For their "grilled" onions, they were red.... Who puts red onions on a Philly cheesesteak?? The bun was so soggy I couldn't even eat the second "half". I cut my sandwich in half because they serve this giant piece of bread you can't even hold. I am beyond disappointed with the meal, but more disappointed I paid $20 for a lunch to take 3 bites and leave hungry. Best part about it was the voodoo chips. Found this place on the way back from Phoenix off of the 202. Great find. Extensive sandwich menu both hot and cold. It varies from a fried bologna sandwich to Brie and apple sandwich. Lots of variety. I like that some sandwiches come in three sizes. Some don't like the wraps and panini I had a chicken bacon ranch wrap. It was full of flavor and loaded with meat and veggies. The flour tortilla was thin and tasty. My friend got a chicken basil spinach panini, she liked it but said it was missing some Mayo or a little punch of something. Order at the counter. I'll probably have to go back again to update this review- but here's what I thought of first visit, on a whim for lunch break. We just moved offices, so this is conveniently down the street- and also seems to be a fairly new sandwich shop (being as how their sign clearly says 'EST. 2019'). You can tell from the interior, too. It's a little bare, but also quite cleanly & a very decent dining area. Their menu board is lacking. Like someone spent less than 10 minute with a stick of chalk. It needs help. You need to grab the actual paper menu to read WHAT is on each sandwich- but, there are PLENTY of options! For both hot & cold sandwiches, all sorts of varieties... subs, paninis, traditional, wraps, etc. A good selection of bread options, too. I didn't notice, but I think salads are offered, too? The side selections include chips, potato salad, mac salad, and you can request fruit salad. Also a bonus: breakfast is offered until 11:30am! So this may be a good place to swing in for a breakfast burrito, bagel sandwich or whatnot. It was around 1pm, and wasn't too busy. A steady, small crowd. But, I wasn't very impressed with how long I had to wait for a to-go panini. Opted for the apple & Brie. And couldn't help but notice 10 minutes have passed... the group of 5 who ordered AFTER me, dining in had their orders well ahead of mine. I was getting close to asking, but it finally came out. And I can't say I was overwhelmed with the final product. It wasn't bad, but for a basic panini, I felt like it was overpriced & a bit sad. Very small, thin & quite flat. The flavor was okay. It was definitely melted- but borderline overdone. Someone left it on the grill too long. I guess I don't understand why it took 15+ minutes, when I ordered ahead of the group & there was only one order ahead of mine, with 4 people working the kitchen. So, it may be smart to order ahead or online. They were a LITTLE apologetic about the wait... but it didn't seem sincere or like they were striving for better. There wasn't a whole lot of personality, all the way around. They also offer DoorDash. I just don't like paying the high delivery fee when the establishment is less than 5 miles away. But their website is decent, so ordering online may be a better idea. And pay attention to the drink prices. A small is $1.99... a large is literally $0.10 more! And, they have one of the fancy Coke machines with a million options. But, honestly the Diet Coke I got tasted like pure carbonation & little flavor. Dumped it & opted for the iced tea. Overall, it isn't a bad place to try. I'd like to try a different sandwich, maybe it is a bit better & more worth the cost? $8 for a very basic panini seems a bit steep to me, for only involving 3 ingredients. But, I saw some of the other sandwiches coming out for those dining in, and they looked great! Like, I almost regret & wish I would have chosen something different... but, we'll save that for next time! I'm just kind of left feeling like someone had a great, clever idea for this establishment, but it's falling a little short for the greatness it COULD be. Maybe it will improve as they settle in & become more established? read more

Stopped in on a Sunday for a takeout sandwich. First visit since they've taken over the old Schlotzktys location. I wasn't sure what to expect as the decor hasn't changed all that much and could used some touching up. Service was fast and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered the Dagwood straight off the menu, no changes - and German Potato Salad for a side. The potato salad was kind of dry, and not as flavorful as I'd expected, but oh, the sandwich! It wasn't neat; kind of sloppy and I needed some of the extra napkins they had in the bag. It was so large I could only eat half- even though I wanted to eat more. It was by far the best tasting cold sandwich - perhaps even the most delicious sandwich even including hot ones I've eaten in my 60+ years. What's even better is that the next day, the 2nd half was just as delicious if not better! I'm going to have a tough time exploring the menu because the next time I go, I'm having another Dagwood. I'm not a sandwich fan. I came here for my wife who is. We got three sandwiches (BLATT, Knuckle, and Corned Beef Ruben) just to make sure I had a third option in case I didn't like the first two. First bite (Ruben)... wow... that's actually really good. Weird. Took bite #2 from the Knuckle... whoa, that's even better than the first! My wife is sitting across from me RAVING about her BLATT, so I take a bite. Not bad. I'm not a fan of turkey, hard to keep big chunks full of flavor. But it was better than I thought it would be. She tried the Knuckle and about died. "Hey, eat your chicken!" I tell her "This marinated roast beef awesomeness is mine!" In the end, the Ruben was gone, the Knuckle was gone, and we took the remaining half of the BLATT home to our 16 yr old son who ate it like it was manna from Heaven. ... If he only knew... The turkey sandwich here is ridiculously good. On a buttery brioche bun with freshly roasted turkey chunks. No slimy deli meat here. It's easily one of the best sandwiches I've had this year. They do their sandwich sizes a little bit differently. They're all served on the same sized bread, and the sizes reflect how much meat is included. I like that, because I don't like a lot of bread. So, I brought my friend here for lunch and I ordered the grilled cheese. The cheese wasn't melted and I was just going to eat it anyway but the friend who has a big mouth had to go and tell them that it wasn't up to par. To make a long boring lunch story short, (wow that's a mouthful) I got my sandwich back when Friend was almost done with hers and it was totally microwaved with that hard stiff edge and not melted cheese. I didn't want to eat it but my friend (we are seniors, not the high school kind) didn't want it to go to waste so she ate it. I will have to forget this experience before I can come back and try something else. All I really wanted was a yummy cheesy grilled melt in your mouth cheese sandwich. The soup was okay. I guess.
