Excited to try because the raving reviews! And I was craving steak, Staff was nice! even recommended a medium drink for meal price. They welcome you as soon as you walk in. I want to come back and try one of the hoagies! They have lots of options : to try!

Turkey Hoagie

This place did not disappoint! We got greeted right away and ordered a turkey hoagie and an original Philly cheesesteak with a side of fries. The hoagie was great, and the meat was very delicious. The cheesesteak was where it was at though, such great taste and the bread was so soft. The fries were yummy too. We enjoyed this spot as the service was quick and there were seating options with a decor that gave a homie feel

Originally planned to check out a different sub place but they were closed due to a family emergency so Yelped and found this was the closest sub shop. You can feel the small family owned vibe as soon as you walk in. They're obviously famous for their Philly cheese steaks so ordered the 12 inch at the counter. Once your order is ready they'll call your name. I thought it was pretty tasty but I could not taste their famous red sauce at all. Meat was flavored well but definitely skimpy. The ends, about a third of the sandwich, was lacking meat. They could fill it up and add more onion. There's a 3.5% surcharge for using a credit card which is kind of a pet peeve of mine. They should at least have a sign to give the customers an option.

Cheesesteaks are not my first go to but it was actually pretty good! I ordered the 12 inch "philly" cheesesteak $14.59 which had American cheese, onion, and their red sauce. It was seasoned well and tasty. The restaurant has that Philly vibe. The staff was very friendly and I'd eat here again

Sunday April 6th, around dinnertime. I can't believe how I haven't written a review for this place yet. I have been here numerous times! This is truly a mom and pop, one of a kind hot sandwich shop. When you walk in, you are warmly greeted and hear the clanging of the tongs on the grill. After you place your order at the counter with one of the friendly staff members your name will be called out when it's your time to pick up. Seat yourself in one of their diner-like booths or seats and get ready to sink your teeth into a tasty Philly cheese steak! We ordered the original Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, $12.49 done "hoagie style." The friendly worker advised us to omit the red sauce if we chose "hoagie style" because the spices, oils, lettuce and tomato (for an additional 75 cents) will be just right. He was right! The fresh grilled meat and toppings were just perfect on the toasted Italian soft roll. Fresh grilled onions are just the best, aren't they? No matter where I go, I request my onions to be well grilled. Their premium fries were hot and fresh! $2.99. Personally, a bit more salt would have made them outstanding but the crisp outside and tender inside were pleasing. While enjoying our meal, we noticed many regulars entering and being greeted by name. It's that kind of place with a community vibe. Honestly, this is what we could use more of. :)

This is by far the BEST philly cheesesteak I've had in AZ! The original Philly and buffalo chicken are too good! I just love how thin they cut their meats. It's giving mom and pop shop vibes and I'm a huge fan! The food is great and their service is even better!

Family operated business. They were very friendly and helpful with the menu. There is plenty of seating area inside. We ordered 2 Turkey Hoagies and 1 Original Philly Cheese Steak. Turkey sandwich had a good amount of turkey and cheese, it was good and very filling . Cheesesteak was very tasty, however; I wished the bread was more toasty. Just a preference of mine.

I haven't been here in over 15 years, but it has become one of my kids favorite places. So, thought I'd give it another chance. Wow... My cheesecake was delicious and fresh and the seasoned wedges were hot and crispy. Cute little spot with lots of memorabilia. Best part was the service!!

Did your prices go up? I ordered an 8" and a 12" turkey sub--10.49 and 13.49 on the website. Tiny bag of chips. I got a receipt of 32.03. It does not add up.

Prices have been the same for about a year. They are posted on the wall by entrance, on their To Go menus, and they are also shared on this page amongst the photos of Menu.

Been on my radar to return after dining here for a Yelp event last year. This place can be busy,…read morebut thankfully, we were seated in a back area of the restaurant. I loved this little nook as it was quieter. What We Ordered: - Red Wine: My coworker ordered this, and remarked how much she enjoyed. Takes an edge off the work week, and a great pairing of catching up while I was onsite at the Phoenix office. - Curious Cocktail: The temperature of the day we dined was 111° and I needed something refreshing. They didn't have a Spritz on the menu, so I went with this. I did enjoy the flavor, but could only have one of these as pretty sweet. - Heirloom Tomato Toast: This was the perfect start to the meal, and the vibrancy of the heirloom tomatoes was refreshing. I really enjoyed the miso aioli as it really complimented the tomatoes. - Side of Crispy Potatoes: Sometimes you just need some carbs, and these hit the spot for a starter before entrees though it is listed as a side. - Dry Rub Chicken Wings: These were decent for wings, but I think I would refrain from ordering again as the sauce choices just weren't great. - Mercato Sourdough Pizza: My coworker throughly enjoyed this pizza, and it intrigued me to return to order one as I couldn't have this one (pesto). - Orange Olive Oil Cake: This was perfection! The salted honey whip + berry coulis helped balance out the denseness and tartness of the orange olive oil cake. Genuinely a contender for my favorite dessert this summer, and I've had a few when spending 15+ days traveling for work. I'd definitely would return here, and one of my new favorite spots in Downtown Chandler!

Loved this place!…read more First, we had to change our reservation, and the host could not have been nicer. On a busy Saturday night, he graciously allowed us to push it back by an hour, which we really appreciated. When we arrived, we were immediately impressed. The jungle theme, leopard prints, intimate booths, and dramatic overhead lighting created a fun, unique atmosphere. The service was excellent, the cocktails were delicious, and every dish we ordered was a hit. My son said it may have been the best steak tartare he's ever had (although neither of us was a fan of the plantain chips). It was certainly the best tartare I've had in a very long time, with generous chunks of high-quality steak instead of being overly minced. The baked brie dip was outstanding, the grilled oysters were excellent, and my New York strip was cooked perfectly. My only small criticism is that the oyster appetizer came with just three oysters. For a $19 appetizer, I'd love to see at least four. An even number also makes sharing much easier, although my son generously let me have the extra one! Overall, this is a fantastic concept with great food, great service, and a memorable atmosphere. We can't wait to come back.

Lastly, I got the miso cheesecake for dessert and the flavors were incredible! I love the animal and jungle themed decor in this upscale restaurant. We were seated right next to the big stuffed leopard which was fun. Our waitress was super personable but there were a few service mistakes. My entree was missing the potatoes it was supposed to come with. And when they boxed my meal, they didn't include everything like the salad and chimichurri sauce. Luckily I checked and was able to get everything added, but staff shouldn't be neglecting or throwing away part of my meal. I would definitely come back here though as the ambience and food were top notch!

Very friendly and attentive and helpful with items on the menu. For drinks we ordered an old fashioned and a pint of church music. Both good choices. Since it's a burger joint, Hubs ordered the Balboa and I ordered the Yeti. Wow! My burger was to die for. The rosemary goat cheese with bacon jam was the perfect combo of tangy and sweet! Hubs was eating his burger without any complaints which is what you want. Both of us went with the hand cut fries. Crispy and very good! We can't wait to return. This place is legit!

We asked if they could turn on the sound for the World Cup and they were more than willing to accommodate. I thought the Balboa burger was very good and I would have enjoyed the gas lamp burger better if the red pepper didn't keep slipping out. They don't charge you if you change fries for tots or even your burger patty for a chicken or turkey patty, which is really nice. Lowlights: I'm a big french fry eater and I didn't really like the fries here I found them too soft. The majority of their tables inside are barstools, which is a bit uncomfortable for me personally.

We were greeted immediately when we walked in and brought straight to a good table in spite of our early arrival. Within a couple of minutes Erin our server came to introduce herself. We began with cocktails. A double Makers Mark on the rocks and a straight-up Tito's martini. Both done just as we like them and generous. First course was the Calamari. We're former New Yorkers so being a Calamari snob is expected. This offering, which delivered a bit of Scungilli as well, was really done well. Not heavy on the bread crumbs and not at all rubbery. The accompanying sauce was very tasty. We followed up splitting a Caesar Salad that we devoured. When we ordered our entree, Linguini and White Clam sauce, we asked Erin about the portions and she read us well. She suggested that we might be overwhelmed by the size of it so we split that also. Turned out to be a great idea. We devoured that too. Done just the way I like it. So good that I ordered a glass of Italian white wine to go with it. Normally, we don't have dessert but, Erin didn't bring the dessert menu. She just looked right at us and said: "We have the best carrot cake in the entire valley"! I must say that presentation was tough to look down my nose at so we split an order of carrot cake. I think I can say it really was the most interesting and best carrot cake I have ever had. Throughout the entire meal Erin kept an eye on us and made sure there wouldn't be a reason for us to wave her over. She's definitely a pro. She was even nice enough to laugh at my really bad jokes. A shout-out to the food runners as well. They were on time, friendly and polite. In closing, I have to salute the management. The dining room was clean, organized, and nicely appointed. They have attracted a pretty nice clientele if my observations were correct. There was plenty of conversations happening but no shouting or yelling. It is just a comfortable place to have a nice dinner out. I highly recommend this restaurant. Give it a try. PS: They seemed unusually appreciative of us making a reservation both on the phone and at the restaurant. Make a reservation, it will be a good start to your evening. ENJOY!

Everything else was terrible. And please note by my reviews that I'm an easy grader. Went with my uncle for lunch. We each had the three meat plate. I chose fattier brisket, pastrami and ribs plus two sides. This came out to ~$36 each. Total bill for the two of us was over $100 by adding drink, cookie, tax and tip. My uncle got kielbasa, brisket and pastrami. Our guess is that the food is brought in sealed and they microwave or use some similar reheat method and do no "cooking" there. All of my meats were beyond dry. It's really hard to convey how dry. The ribs were the biggest terror point since not only was it as tough as leather but it tasted like it was doused in iodized salt. My uncle's plate was not any better. The kielbasa was sliced and overcooked so badly that the sliced edges were burnt and frayed - you've got to really try hard to screw up preserved sausage. I could only do a few bites and threw it all in the trash. They were getting busy and I was not going to stand back in line with trays of food to broach the problems. They make sure to ask for a tip at time of order but there's no service for quality control. My uncle texted me later in the day: "Today's restaurant was such an awful choice for BarBQ. I can't remember when I had worse. We have to go to a real good one next time." It is crazy how bad this lunch experience was and a rarity that Yelps score misses the mark so badly.
