Menu to the best Philly cheesesteak restaurant in AZ
    Nicole M.

I first found this hidden gem in 2014 thanks to a conversation at my local dog park. Back then, their menu wasn't online, so I snapped a photo and posted it with my first review, and I've been a loyal fan ever since. From the outside, this place might not scream "life-changing sandwich," but the moment you take your first bite, you'll know you're somewhere special. The food is outstanding, flavorful, generous, and made with love. It's the kind of food that makes East Coasters feel like they're back home and locals feel like they just discovered their new favorite spot. But it's not just the food, it's the people. The warmth and kindness of this family-run business make it stand out even more. Rita, Sarah, and Jacob always greet me with genuine smiles, and even after we moved away from Arizona in 2023 and returned two years later, they remembered my name like no time had passed. (They still tease my husband for forgetting his, all in good fun!) Megan was the first person we met when we came in all those years ago, and she instantly made us feel welcome. She's amazing. Although she is now a successful realtor and no longer working in the shop, the heart of the business she helped build is still the same. It is all about family, flavor, and fantastic service. I'll also say this. In a time when others have tried to imitate what this family built, this original spot continues to shine. Their integrity, quality, and kindness speak louder than anything else ever could. Pro tip: Preorder if you can. They get busy because they're just that good. Support real local businesses. Support real people. And most of all, treat yourself to one of the best meals you'll have in the Valley.

I've been coming to Philly's Famous Cheesesteaks for over 10 years. It's a small, family-owned shop tucked into a strip mall on Alma School Road, on the northwest corner of Alma School and Ray, and it's one of those longtime local places I'm always happy to support. I normally order the Chicken Cheesesteak, which is always delicious, but today I decided to mix it up a little. I kept it simple with chicken, American cheese, and jalapeños on their delicious hoagie roll. SO good! The hoagie roll really makes the sandwich--soft, fresh, and perfect with the filling. The service is always friendly and excellent, and the food has been consistently good throughout all the years I've been coming here. If you're craving a good cheesesteak and want to support a longtime family-owned Chandler business, definitely give Philly's Famous a try!

THE BEST cheesesteak in Arizona. The only other thing you need to know is the owner is an incredible person who is the happiest restaurant owner I've seen in decades. My second visit is many more to go. This is where you want to be.

Staying in Chandler and looking for a good sandwich spot. Being from Pennsylvania.... had to check out Philly's. Oh my.... we were welcomed by what presume was the owner. The gentleman was so nice! We each got the original ( one small one large). Of course Wise chips and drinks. Observing how they treat everyone... it was so wonderful to see this small business have such a great following . The cheesesteaks were incredible!! I honestly would come to Chandler just for these!! Go support this amazing family!

Best Philly cheesesteak in Arizona hands down. And not only was the food delicious, but the family friendly staff are incredible and make the visit for lunch or dinner worth it. Truly a family owned restaurant that cares about customers.

Excited to try because the raving reviews! And I was craving steak, Staff was nice! even recommended a medium drink for meal price. They welcome you as soon as you walk in. I want to come back and try one of the hoagies! They have lots of options : to try!

The tuna hoagie! Not to be missed!

One of the best bites I've had this summer is the Tuna Hoagie at Philly's Famous. Tuna Salad and cheese topped with lettuce, tomato and onion with oil, vinegar and spices. After having it on Tuesday, I thought it was the best sandwich I've ever eaten. I went back Thursday and know it's the best sandwich I've ever eaten. They also serve numerous cheesesteaks and hoagies which are great. The customer service where the family makes you feel like family is next level wonderful. I highly recommend Philly's Famous for the food and the customer service. Both are the best!

This place did not disappoint! We got greeted right away and ordered a turkey hoagie and an original Philly cheesesteak with a side of fries. The hoagie was great, and the meat was very delicious. The cheesesteak was where it was at though, such great taste and the bread was so soft. The fries were yummy too. We enjoyed this spot as the service was quick and there were seating options with a decor that gave a homie feel

Originally planned to check out a different sub place but they were closed due to a family emergency so Yelped and found this was the closest sub shop. You can feel the small family owned vibe as soon as you walk in. They're obviously famous for their Philly cheese steaks so ordered the 12 inch at the counter. Once your order is ready they'll call your name. I thought it was pretty tasty but I could not taste their famous red sauce at all. Meat was flavored well but definitely skimpy. The ends, about a third of the sandwich, was lacking meat. They could fill it up and add more onion. There's a 3.5% surcharge for using a credit card which is kind of a pet peeve of mine. They should at least have a sign to give the customers an option.

Cheesesteaks are not my first go to but it was actually pretty good! I ordered the 12 inch "philly" cheesesteak $14.59 which had American cheese, onion, and their red sauce. It was seasoned well and tasty. The restaurant has that Philly vibe. The staff was very friendly and I'd eat here again

The cheesesteak just the way i like it, meat and cheese. The flavor is perfect.

The cheesesteak was amazing. My wife had the burger, loved it! Folks running this place are friendly, attentive, and just the real deal. Only a legit Philly spot would have Tasteycakes and UTZ. 11 stars!

Sunday April 6th, around dinnertime. I can't believe how I haven't written a review for this place yet. I have been here numerous times! This is truly a mom and pop, one of a kind hot sandwich shop. When you walk in, you are warmly greeted and hear the clanging of the tongs on the grill. After you place your order at the counter with one of the friendly staff members your name will be called out when it's your time to pick up. Seat yourself in one of their diner-like booths or seats and get ready to sink your teeth into a tasty Philly cheese steak! We ordered the original Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, $12.49 done "hoagie style." The friendly worker advised us to omit the red sauce if we chose "hoagie style" because the spices, oils, lettuce and tomato (for an additional 75 cents) will be just right. He was right! The fresh grilled meat and toppings were just perfect on the toasted Italian soft roll. Fresh grilled onions are just the best, aren't they? No matter where I go, I request my onions to be well grilled. Their premium fries were hot and fresh! $2.99. Personally, a bit more salt would have made them outstanding but the crisp outside and tender inside were pleasing. While enjoying our meal, we noticed many regulars entering and being greeted by name. It's that kind of place with a community vibe. Honestly, this is what we could use more of. :)

    "Philly" cheese steak sandwich

Not only the food is great and it's the best cheese steak you will ever have, the service is great! The owners are always there to say hi and bye as you walk through those doors. Love this place and will definitely be returning!

The patio seating was surprisingly comfortable for how hot it's been outside. The food was good. (BACON WRAPPED DATES) The kids breakfast was simple, but my kids complained they didn't like the eggs and potatoes because they tasted like nothing, and they were right. So for other kids it's might be just right for them, too, however if your kids have tastebuds, the sweet treats and meatballs do the trick (very garlicky meatballs for me) It was lovely and fun to visit the market afterwards too.

For me, I tried the Murphy Goode red blend and I enjoyed it a lot. Good balance, complexity, and smoothness. For the main course my wife had the Pasta Bolognese. It came with rigatoni noodles. The sauce was nice and thick and coated the noodles really well. It had a big robust flavor but wasn't overpowering. I had the Chicken Saltimbocca. The sauce was a bit on the sweet side for my preference due to what tasted like a bit of balsamic, but I still enjoyed it. The chicken was well cooked and tender. We tried a cannoli for dessert. The thing was huge! Shell was thick and crunchy. Filling was moderately sweet with a subtle brightness to it (like a touch of lemon). Ends were dipped in chopped pistachio.
