We had dinner here tonight and the service was so slow. We had appetizers served and it was a long time before our server returned to take our dinner order. We should have just left at that point but our kids were hungry. Dinner was finally served and it was good, but no one seemed very concerned about how long we waited. We asked for our check and then we were given the wrong, much more expensive check. I'm not sure if they were understaffed but the restaurant was only half full when we arrived. I've finally found a new go-to restaurant for when I'm flying out of CVG! My usual favorite is Tousey House, but they aren't open for dinner on Sundays so I needed to find an alternative. Fort Mitchell Public House Bar and Grill checks all of my boxes. The first thing I look for is a nice patio. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating today, but I will be back for this fabulous patio. I was there before the dinner rush, which explains the emptiness of the restaurant. More people started arriving after 5:00. There were so many yummy sounding choices on the menu that it was hard to decide. I asked my server, Erin, what she recommends and she said the CAJUN BOURBON FILET TIPS were her favorite. I went with that and was not disappointed. The filet was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It is served over mashed potatoes and topped with onion straws. While the beef portion was small, it was a satisfying meal and the flavors were perfection! I added a side Caesar salad. Their house-made croutons were so good and the dressing was tasty and perfectly portioned. I don't often order dessert, but decided to splurge tonight and got a slice of the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake to-go. OMG, this is one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. It was light and dense at the same time, if that makes sense. So creamy and melt in your mouth delicious. I will dream about it tonight LOL. read more

Seven of us had plans to meet at Fort Mitchell Public House Bar and Grill at 12:30 on a Wednesday. The place was pretty busy, but they were able to accommodate us with no problem. The place is comfortable; the tables are nicely spaced. Though it's a bar and grill, it has the feel of a restaurant. The menu is huge; so many options! I decided what I wanted, but kept looking at the menu. I considered changing my mind several times, but stuck with my original choice - SAIGON SALAD - arcadian greens / red and green onions / almonds / rice noodles / grilled chicken / soy ginger vinaigrette. The salad had a nice mix of greens. The chicken had an honest to goodness grilled flavor. It was the perfect size and seemed like a light option. It was delicious and I left feeling perfectly satisfied. Mark had CAJUN CREAM PASTA - grilled chicken breast / artichokes / black olives / tomatoes / spicy cream sauce/ penne. I failed miserably taking a picture, but I can tell you Mark raved about it. He also agreed the chicken had a great grilled flavor. He said the sauce, not too spicy at all, was delicious. He ate every bite. Three people had SALMON SLIDERS - grilled salmon / arcadian greens / tomato / remolaude / slider buns / chips. Everyone enjoyed them, though one mentioned the salmon had a habit of exiting the bun. Someone had a burger and another had NASHVILLE HOT CHICKEN WRAP - fried chicken / cayenne chili oil / honey / shredded cabbage / cheddar / pickles/ chips. He said it was quite good and rather spicy. Found this place on-line since we had to be near the airport for an appointment. We were looking for a lunch at a place that we haven't visited before. The restaurant has been open since 2015 but replaced a previous restaurant. The owner who has been the bartender for 25 years (both restaurants) has done a great job with it. The crowd was mostly elderly for lunch. The wait staff was very friendly and provided great service. They were ahead of me bringing iced tea refills. I had the Cod Reuben. This consisted of a giant piece of fish with cheese and homemade slaw on a potato bun. It was very good. I subbed fries for the normal kettle chips. With the cajun seasoning they were great! The restaurant considers itself a New Orleans branded one (Fleur de Lis) but didn't have Gumbo and considered Jambalaya as similar (LOL) . They did have Po Boys. My wife had the Salmon sliders. A hidden gem tucked away just seconds from the interstate! Had an appointment in the area and was in search of a unique place for lunch. Found what I was looking for in Fort Mitchell Public House. The atmosphere was warm and the staff was very welcoming. The restaurant is in old house and the decorr has a lot of character. Fleur de Lis is part of the branding in homage to the Cajun emphasis (although, technically, the Cajuns came from Acadia in Canada to Louisiana......) The menu had some Louisiana favorites like Po Bo sandwiches and Jambalyay. I was disappointed that they do not serve Gumbo, which is a Louisiana (both Cajun and Creole) staple. I had the Salmon sliders and cajun fries. The salmon was super fresh and large pieces were provided for each of the two sliders. It was cooked to perfection! I appreciated being able to substitute fries for the chips that normally accompany this dish and the ability for the kitchen to "cajunize" my fries. I will definitely be back! read more

So if you are looking for a spot with ambiance then this place certainly has it! Nice outdoor patio area for dining, it was all full when we arrived so we sat inside. They were fairly busy at lunch time. It took a bit for a hostess to seat us but a couple people acknowledged our presence there and said someone would be with us soon. Our waitress was at the table shortly after we sat down and took our drink orders. I had a martini and found it nice enough to have another, there was a blackberry flavor to it but I do not recall its name. I decided to go with the Southern Shrimp Dip and the Saigon Salad and my friend had the Loaded Saratoga Chips. I would not order the Southern Shrimp Dip again as I did not much care for it. The dip was cheesy but lacked flavor and no real chunks of shrimp. Also came with some dry pita bread on the side. Was a no for me. The Saigon Salad was greens, red and green onion, almonds, rice noodles, grilled chicken, and had a soy ginger vinaigrette. It was fine. The Saratoga Chips were fine, nothing to write home about. Overall loved the vibe here but wouldn't come back as the food did not stand up to the price paid. read more

Decided to try this tonight - wasn't sure how long the wait would be on Friday, but we were seated quickly. The place is cozy, and a little loud on the inside. We started with the loaded Saratoga chips as an appetizer. Very good. Really liked the queso they served on these. For my main dish, I ordered the Cajun bourbon filet tips. Excellent! Everything on this plate, from the fried onion to the mashed potatoes to the filet tips were great! My wife ordered a side Caesar salad and the Cajun cream chicken pasta. Have not been here in years, so decided to come on a Sunday afternoon. There were six of us. We were greeted pretty quickly upon entry and there were 4 of us when we arrived. We let the lady know there would be a total of 6 (two more were right behind us), and she seemed immediately annoyed. The lady that sat us is who ended up waiting on us. Her attitude picked up throughout the meal, but still wasn't what I would expect at a place like this. They have Happy Hour (YES! Even on Sunday). Our table had a mixture of beers and wines. Only giving one star because I will say my food was very good (I had the turkey burger and fries). However , the service was awful. Not sure why exactly but my waitress couldn't have been more unfriendly and unwilling essentially to wait on me . I. e did not tell me the specials, ask if I'd like an appetizer or a second drink, never one time did anyone ask how is your food? Can I get you anything else etc although I overheard her several times treating other tables differently and with a different level of service ...actually being a good waitress to larger parties dining in the place. When I asked politely for the check and a box the waitress dropped it off without saying a word to me and took off. WOW!!! I'm so glad we stopped here for lunch on our travels. First off, it's a really cute place and the patio looks like a wonderful spot to eat or drink. It's cozy and shaded well. It was raining, so we ate inside. Del was our server. She should teach servers how to be servers. Yes, she was that great! Friendly, she seemed happy to be at work (not always easy to pull off), she never let our drinks become empty, and she helped us make good decisions about the menu. Anyone that reads my reviews knows that I love catfish. Oh-em-geee! I had THE best catfish I've ever had. The breading on it was so good and it was cooked to perfection. It came with fries, and no hush puppies. I like hush puppies, so that's the only way to improve that dish in my book. Hubs had bourbon glazed filet tips on mashed potatoes with onion straws.
