Ko Olina lagoons are perfect to bring young children to. We have brought my daughter to them since she was 10 months old. It is perfect when the water is clear and you can snorkel and sometimes swim with a turtle. They are very clean, too. For these reasons I would give them a 5, however... As previous posters have stated, the parking situation is a joke. In Hawaii, all beaches should be accessible to the public. Ko Olina insultingly created a small amount of parking spaces that the public is allowed to use. There is ample space to create more parking, however Ko Olina instead chooses to build more resorts and wedding chapels and ignores the needs if the local public. I guess we'll have to dish out a million to buy a time share at Ko Olina. That way well be able to enjoy it when we want to. Nice. read more

Beautiful beaches, friendly staff, and nice pools. The lagoon is also very nice because the waves are relatively calm. The water slide was great and the barbecue grills were great for a little grilling. The coffee supply was kind of weak. Two bags of decaf and one of regular. Only setback. read more

In a word, outstanding. The pool is spectacular with its tranquil pools, exciting kids areas and peaceful lagoons to explore. The reception area is beautiful. The rooms are well- appointed with a table that seats 8 easily. The kitchen has all the comforts of home, and I have never seen a cleaner place. It had been cleaned in every corner. I'm giving this resort two stars because the ONLY reason I didn't negative rate is because of Dee at the front desk. She started our stay very wonderfully - sweet, informative, and able to resolve a problem. However, things went downhill after that and we won't be returning until I know thing have improved. First of all, the room key - had to change it twice during our stay. That ordinarily wouldn't have been an issue; however, no working room key means cannot get into parking lot. At $37.50 a night for parking, the resort could have done better. Then, the parking attendants were the worst - one told us we were at the wrong lot so drove to other lot; that attendant tells us otherwise! Need to get it together, Marriott. Finally, as LOCALS, there was/is a distinct bias against us, esp. against my daughter and her boyfriend, whom are youthful looking, but are adults. Security stopped them because they didn't have the blue band on...small oversight, but to treat them like they were trespassing was uncalled for, especially since a white woman with no blue band walked right by and she didn't get stopped. This is extremely poor PR for the property if you want local people to peruse your resort. Won't be back until assured things have changed. read more

Do you want to go to the most amazing hotel? It has two pools and three hot tubs and there is more than one building there! It is on the west side of O'ahu. It is called Ko'olina. The best time to go is in the afternoon or on a weekend. Inside of the room there is a gigantic bed and a couch that pulls out into a bed. There is also a lanai that has a table and a few chairs. My only advice is to get there early cus the free parking is small and it fills up very quick. When you come on vacation to Hawaii this is the place to stay. You're literally right in front of the beach, the view from your room is breathtaking. We really don't have anything bad to say about this place. Every single person is outstandingly friendly. They have locker rooms which include a steam room, sauna, showers and they provide clean towels every time. They have like 7 hot tubs and 3 pools. One of those pools is an adult pool so no kids allowed. Also you have to try longboards breakfast is delish. So amazing you don't wanna leave. Mahalo ko olina, until next time. read more

Ko'olina has several different parking options. Each lagoon has at minimum 10 parking spaces, with lagoon #4 having 100 spots. You can pay $10 per day to park @ the marina and the Marriott Ihilani allows beach parking @ $5 with validation at one of their restuarants. There are now several fast (er) food options, like KoOlina BBQ, Just Taco's, and the ABC store, which has a nice deli section. Fine dining includes Roy's. read more

gorgeous. yes the parking sucks and yes it has a lot of tourists- it is home to resorts.....(insert middle school girl with annoyed face saying, "duh" here) the good news is it is clear water and great for relaxing. picnics are my favorite here. it isn't my favorite beach on the islands but it certainly tops the charts for places to chill. read more

This place is so ridiculously far from town and its really crowded especially on the weekends. Other than that, the beaches are really nice and if its not overcast, I can see it being a really nice place to hangout all day. I think they have four beaches total and I went to the fourth one. The water was really calm and it was a good place to swim around. There's also a lot of tourists who are taking wedding pictures there so watch out so you don't bomb their photos. read more

Not as congested as the other coves...peaceful and calm! Snorkeling by the rocks you can see sea turtles ...beautiful place to catch the sunsets at night and great for little kids to swim and play since there are no waves. read more

Love the lagoons! Make sure you park at the lagoon's parking and not at the shopping strip. We parked there and got our truck booted and had to pay 50 bucks to get them to remove it. They watch the parking very good at the shopping strip.(as we learned) LOL! So just beware! If theres a line for parking at the lagoons you might as well wait. read more

Fantastic beach. Man-made lagoons, but very beautiful. There are huge rocks that break the waves, so the lagoon is very calm. Great for kids. Definitely saw 3 Japanese couples get their wedding pictures taken. Very cute:) read more

My favorite beaches tend to be near Honolulu whereas I'm a Westside kind of gal. I love the quiet atmosphere, the no-danger-of-drowning scene, and the quick commute time. I may also be biased because whenever I go to Ko Olina, I have some amazing company. If you're looking for huge surf, this is not the place. But if you're looking to relax and get a tan in, this is the place for you! read more

The dolphin tour is a SCAM!! They advertise it as swimming with dolphins, but it is just snorkeling with no dolphins. Here is part of the description from their website: "If you've ever dreamed of swimming with dolphins..." and we paid $134 for it, but the actual tour didn't have swimming with dolphins! We complained to the manager and the owner, but they didn't care! I showed them their own website and brochure and I specifically said that I'll write a bad review for you if you don't do something about it, but the manager said: "we have enough business; go ahead and write your review". They provide the same snorkeling that you can get at Hanauma Bay for $12-$25 for $134!! In order to be able to sell it for $100 more, they falsely advertise it as "swimming with dolphin" or "dolphin adventure", but it is basic snorkeling. Stay away from this business. read more

The selfish part of me does not want to reivew Ko'Olina because it is such a gem! But alas, Yelpers have opened my eyes to so many neat local finds that I must also give back. If you aren't a strong swimmer like me, and you find yourself wanting to get away and go to the beach-try Ko'Olina. A beautiful little community in a gated area. The neighboring hotels are amazing and this is a safe and fun place to hang out.

Came out to Ko Olina to do a Company team building at the public section. Got kicked out because we were to big of a group.. All we did was run the path by the lagoons in groups of 2-3 around 0615... No singing cadence or anything, just running.. Park attendants were very rude at the same time.. Ko olina, loves military money, but doesn't like the military.. Smh.. read more

This was my favorite of all the lagoons we visited at Ko'Olina. Plenty of sea life to see while snorkeling, beautiful sandy beaches, but also plenty of green lawn and free lawn chairs. I love that it's surrounded by upscale resorts but the beaches are open to the public. Free parking, but come early because it fills up! Perfect place to bring kids because the water is calm and you don't have to worry about strong waves. Free rinsing stations and water bottle filling stations. I heard some complaints about all the "rules" but none of them bothered me because frankly, I'm down with NOT having my beach experience ruined by cigarette smoke and loud music. We parked at Lagoon 2 and easily walked to all 4 lagoons and to the shopping/food center .5 miles away. read more

This review is specifically for their luau. I give them props for a great and entertaining show; however, the food is mediocre. Blah salad consisting of mostly iceberg lettuce (really??), chicken and bread were dry and the fish was not tasty (and it was cold). I don't eat pig (okay, pork) so maybe that's where the magic is. The piña colada I got tasted like 90% sugar and I had to water it down 1:1 with cold water. Thank goodness for great dancing and all that eye candy, especially that fire guy who looks like the human version of Disney's Tarzan but with short hair. read more

Beautiful area that is away from all the traffic and craziness of Honolulu and Wakiki. This area is definitely rizty and aimed towards tourists, but it is such a lovely area to stay. Definitely a vacation spot. It's private, has beautiful lagoons, three fabulous hotes, and nice little shops. Staying here, you are within a driving distance of any attractions you need to get to. read more

This is the perfect spot for your children. There are four lagoons and every one of them are special. The fourth lagoon has the spacious parking lot (as spacious as its gonna get in Hawaii). They have showers and restrooms. Some say the perfect time is to get there by 10am. Or else it'll become very packed with hardly any parking. Currently, since it is winter time here, it's very windy. Almost uncomfortable to be at the beach during this time. And yet the weather is perfect (besides the wind factor). My daughter loved it here. We would bring her little floating thing where she could sit in comfortably. The views are perfect. Also, since it's a lagoon by Aulani there's side walks and grass. You can set up by the grass and not have to deal with too much sand on your towels. It's pretty nice here! read more

I've been coming to this resort for over 11 years. We have stayed at Aulani, Marriott Beach Club, and JW Ihilani (now Four Seasons), in all, over 15 times. I can say without a doubt that this is the best resort area in Oahu. It's absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, it has changed a lot and even greater changes are ahead. It's starting to get congested especially in lagoon 1. Aulani is a zoo. The lagoon 1 area looks more like Waikiki beach. During last month's trip, I noticed quite a few people running and walking along the path. I now hear that a Chinese company will build two towers totaling 800 units and Atlantis plans to build 1300 units. I'm afraid Ko Olina will turn in to another mega tourist attraction/location and the lagoons will suffer greatly. I'm so disappointed for what lies ahead for this wonderful place. Enjoy it while you can. On a side note, lagoons have wild life: tropical fish, turtles, jellyfish, etc. Luckily, I haven't seen a shark yet! read more

Real nice resort for family! Beach are real private and clean. There are 4 man made lagoons and a golf course. I enjoy walking around the resort. But since I'm not a family man I prefer spending my time in waikiki. Don't get me wrong Marriot is class hotel with class service. Only been to Lagoon 1 but heard all four lagoons are very similar. It's perfect for toddlers. The water is calm so you don't have to worry about the little one's being knocked over by a wave. Awesome spot! read more

Too much construction going on all the time. We have been here every two years for the past 6 and each time there was orange cones and clanging and banging. Today there were jack hammers, drilling and digging. Rest rooms were closed except for lagoon 4 and most of connecting walkway closed as well. Of course the sun and water were still nice. read more

Pros: - VERY NICE HOTEL, furniture, fixings, etc. - close to the beach - faster internet - people are not as territorial nor obnoxious Cons: - lagoons are not as nice as Poipu in Kauai. The water doesn't circulate as much, so it gets cloudy. Also, you can't surf out here, which is a bummer because the hotel's so nice Bottom line: - good for families with small children, and for a very quiet atmosphere. Surfers, look elsewhere. read more

Ko Olina is a beautiful resort. It's family friendly and the lagoons and scenery are perfect.

Four nice man made lagoon's. Rocks break all the waves which isn't that great, but if you have kids, I guess it's heaven.

Man-made lagoons have dirty sand. Not enough natural cleaning action from waves and no sea life. They don't allow umbrellas. Parking lots are always full. There is plenty of land available but tiny parking lots. Racist resort wants to keep out the natives. read more

This is a beautiful place with four lagoons. If you are a Lost fan I suggest that you try to book a room high up with a view of lagoon three and a view of the marina were many scenes were filmed. I do agree with the other reviews that it us hard to find a parking space, but my family and I had no problem finding one close to the door. This is why I give it five stars. read more

Ive probally stayed here like 5 times and it is always great place for a staycation. They got the bbq pits downstairs where you can bring your own marinated steaks and fish for cooking. The keikis pool is right there so they can play, alot of chairs to sit. The 3rd lagoon is good too. Ive stayed in the 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom vila, but this time we only needed a regular guest room which was still good, it has a little kitchen area sink and microwave with little ice box. We just bought a cooler and used the ice machine available. I can see why other locals complain, its mostly because of rude haoles they have time shares but think they are royalty lol i couldn't give the 5 stars because, parking is way to much 37 bucks should be free for kamaiana and just charge out of state . Just saying whenever u go to the states its tourist with outside ids gett charged more. And just a tip wash the bbq cooking utensils like me hahaha, haole boy feeding the cats with the same one and what does haole dad do , ohh put it back it aint my job to clean wth. I was laughing cause i was the first one that morning and i noticed the utensils was still dirty from the night before, so i washed them in my room. So little does he know that spatula he was cooking with was grimmy as hell. But all that aside, this place is great the staff is 5 star service. I will definitely be back. Mahalo read more
