    Fried chicken curry ramen

It was a chilly night tonight and we all wanted something to warm up that was comforting. Ramen was the top choice. Ko-Ryu to the rescue. We had fried Gyoza and Takoyaki to start, ( sorry no photo to show) and wonton ramen & fried chicken curry ramen. Both really delicious and hit the spot. The curry had a little kick but very tasty. The wait staff very nice and filled our water promptly. Ambiance casual.

I had a nice experience at Ko-Ryu Ramen. I ordered the Shacho Ramen with miso broth, which I found to be fairly good. It was definitely very rich, which was mostly appreciated, except it was too salty because of how rich it was. The service was good, and my party was seated immediately when we came on a Saturday night.

Food and service was good. I noticed that the one in San Pedro gives a little more ramen than this one. I also noticed that they don't serve dessert like how the Pedro one does. They did however give my son some baseball and basketball trading cards, which was a nice gesture.

I absolutely love the Shacho Ramen here I know it's probably not traditional or whatever but it's broth with the Sesame paste in it just tastes so good to me. Also it comes with bamboo shoots, extra ground pork along with the chashu, bean sprouts, etc. There's also this cool photo wall of ppl who've eaten super spicy bowls in the past. The food comes out pretty fast as well.

This is my one of my favorite places to eat. The spicy ramen is my go to adding an egg. I often take friends here and love it too!

The server came over to simply collect out sheets. I was intrigued by the Black Devil Ramen, and was feeling adventurous. I only got Spice Level 2 with a lighter broth, and it was rich and packed a punch! Can't imagine what a normal, or even heavy, broth would taste like. I enjoyed both broths individually, and then mixed together. To be honest, I think I enjoyed the separate broths more, but the contrast of colors make for great pictures. I wasn't sure if the offer for extra noodles were extra or not, but we ended up opting out as we were pretty full already. I was a little disappointed that the base ramen only came with the tonkatsu, green onion, and bamboo. I don't recall there being any other toppings. For $16-17, this is definitely on the pricier side! The waiters served us well and constantly checked in to see if we needed anything. There was a steady stream of customers on this Sunday afternoon, and I can see why!

One thing I really appreciate is how accommodating they are with customizations. I usually ask for my ramen without nori (seaweed) and skip the egg, and they get it right every time. It might seem like a small detail, but it makes a huge difference not having to send anything back. The atmosphere is also a big plus. It's cozy and inviting, perfect for sitting down and enjoying a warm bowl of ramen. The first time we went it was pretty busy, but it still felt comfortable. The second time, we went earlier in the day and it was quieter, which made the experience even better. At this point, anytime I'm craving ramen, this is where we go. Skip the Shacho Ramen and go for the pork rice bowl! The Breakdown Service & Speed: 5/5. I ordered within 5 minutes and the food arrived in 10. The manager lady is amazing, charismatic, and highly memorable. They're full service, they packed my leftovers. The Highlight (Pork Rice Bowl): Generous portion of rice and incredibly tender pork. Mixing in the egg and mayo made the dish, became the highlight of my meal. The Perks: Their menu is simple and straightforward, and adding extra toppings to your ramen is actually relatively inexpensive. The Disappointment (Shacho Ramen): This was my first meal here without fried chicken, and the Shacho Ramen unfortunately fell flat. It completely lacked the complexity and depth I was looking for. The Broth: Had the rich, heavy sesame creaminess I demanded, but it was incredibly one-note outside of that. The Spice: Level 2 had no heat at all. I asked for a side of extra spice, which helped a bit, but didn't save the dish. The Noodles: Very bland.Ended up packing most of it away Verdict: Come for the great service, cheap add-ons, and excellent rice bowls, but pass on the Shacho Ramen.
