Ordered shacho ramen and koryu ramen for the visit. Both noodles came out tasty. The ramen here has wonderful broths but the toppings are sparse. I highly recommend you order extra chashu and extra vegetables to make it more filling. The service was attentive and efficient. I wouldn't call it friendly or welcoming per se. I liked how well she had the timing for providing extra water and taking away unnecessary bowls or plates. My water was topped up without having to flag her down. At checkout, I didn't see an option for me to add a tip using ApplePay. I inquired about it as I thought she deserved a tip. The server told me she doesn't really care if she gets tips or not. Girl, I was about to give you a 30% tip for the decent service you provided me during the visit. No need to be snarky about it......I was WANTING to pay the tip. I wouldn't mind revisiting if I'm in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to revisit. There are other locations of Ko Ryu too, so I may try them instead.

Walked in and was seated right away. We sat at a nice table. The ambience of the restaurant was really nice and cozy. To drink I had Diet Coke. To order for lunch I had the Shacho Ramen with fried chicken as an extra topping. The soup taste fantastic. It has amazing flavors. The fried chicken on the side is a little dish of fried chicken that I get to hold me over and complete the meal. If you're looking for a great place to get some Ramen, this would be the place. I recommend Ko Ryo Ramen

Had a great experience at Ko Ryu. Our waiter was very good and answered our questions regarding the menu. We ordered Garlic Bomb and Shacho Ramens. We went with heat level 2 which was perfect for us. We also added hard boiled eggs. They were two completely different flavor profiles and we loved both! Will definitely be back!

This is either the more suburban sibling of the downtown San Pedro location or it is the first franchise based off the original concept. The location is in a small strip center where there is parking but if it's full you can probably find parking in easy walking distance. The food is good for quick prepared ramen. The service is pretty basic but we received our food faster than expected because the place was almost full at 6pm on a Friday. Unlike the downtown San Pedro location, this place SERVES NO ALCOHOL. That said, everybody who came in to eat seemed pleasant and focused on having a nice meal. The only downside to this place is that the interior gives off a fast food vibe so maybe not a date place.

This ramen spot took over the chicken spot that use to be at this location, figured it was worth the try based off of other Yelp reviews. Plenty of seating indoors and parking was easily accessible for free. The service was good and staff were attentive to our needs. After ordering a variety of dishes I would say the ramen and other dishes were just okay... the chicken karrage was overly fried to the point that the chicken was tough, the chashu in the ramen was fair, and the takoyaki was tiny and the octopus was chewy. The ambiance is fast casual dining with a clean atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad I decided to try something new but I will be sticking to my go to ramen spots.

The friendly server suggested KOI RAMEN and I tried the TORIKARA DON both equally flavorful and incredibly hunger filling. If you happen to be in the area this place is highly recommended

I ordered the original Kotsu with pork broth, which came with a generous piece of pork belly. I also liked that it included half an egg, green onions, and wood ear mushrooms. The broth was perfectly hot, which is a big plus for me since lukewarm ramen is a major pet peeve. My husband got the Kotsu curry rice bowl with pork belly and said it was really delicious. Our two friends also ordered ramen, and we shared Brussels sprouts and chicken karaage as appetizers. I'd skip the karaage next time but both were great for sharing. You order and pay at the counter, and the food came out quickly. Even though there are plenty of authentic ramen spots in Torrance and Gardena, Kotsu is a solid and satisfying alternative. We went on a late Sunday night, and it wasn't too busy.

They only have a couple of locations in SoCal, so there's usually a wait, but it's definitely worth it. The staff are wonderful. My go to is the Tonkotsu since that's what they're known for, and it was delicious. This time I decided to try the Black Devil Ramen, which combines their black garlic oil tonkotsu broth with their spicy tonkotsu broth. I'm really glad I switched it up because the black garlic gave the broth a much deeper, richer flavor, and the little bit of spice balanced everything out perfectly. I love spicy ramen, but not when it's so spicy that you can't taste anything else. Also added the Everything Topping and extra green onions because I'm feeling hungry. The extra veggies make it even better and definitely satisfied my hunger. Definitely one of my favorite ramen spots outside of Little Tokyo. If you're ever in the Torrance area and craving ramen, this spot is worth checking out!

The food was actually quite good. We both had a bowl of the Black Devil ramen at a spice level of 4. I was worried that this would be too much but it was actually a very manageable level of spice. The type of spice where I can still enjoy my food and not have to worry about eating it through hiccups or anything like that. I also had a side of the spicy katsu cutlet, which I also enjoyed very much. They brought me one big piece of chicken katsu and some scissors to cut it up, which I thought was neat. But every bite I had was wonderful, as it was clearly fried to perfection. The service was also on point and our server even let us try some of their devil sauce ( I do not remember if this was what it was called but it sure was spicy). A few drops of this in my bowl of ramen and I began to sweat profusely. She said barely anyone ever orders it and I can totally see why haha. She was also super nice to us and overall provided some excellent service, I did not quite catch her name. The interior of this place also feels quite small, but it is well ventilated. Just be mindful if you get up and walk around because there are people eating to your left and right.

Everything from the flavor to the experience just feels a step above. The (always-vegan) broth is rich and well-balanced, and you can really tell the focus is on quality. One thing I really appreciate is how accommodating they are with customizations. I usually ask for my ramen without nori (seaweed) and skip the egg, and they get it right every time. Today we decided to revisit the restaurant for old time's sake. Inside, the main wall was repainted with a new mural. The annual LA Marathon posters, pinned by the staff who participated in the events, were also gone. Nonetheless, it retained its traditional izakaya décor with its counter seating alongside some regular tables. The staff were all new but still very courteous and brought the menu and water right away. New items were added but the core dishes remained the same. For this visit, we ordered our regular items and they arrived in 10 minutes: Eboshi Mini Trio with Shio Ramen, Fried Rice and Gyoza: The fried rice was still top notch, with slightly firm texture, not too oily, and pleasantly seasoned. The Shio Ramen with its clear broth was nicely savory. The thin noodles were cooked perfectly, and the chashu pieces were tender. To complement the set, the gyozas with their delicate wraps had nicely burnt bottoms, and flavorful fillings. Champon Ramen: A complex ramen with an assortment of meat, veggies and seafood. There were sliced pork pieces, shrimps, squids, cabbage, onions, snow peas and many more. The clear broth was quite savory and enriched by oil from sauteed ingredients. The noodles had a very nice texture and were a tad al dente. We were amazed that after all these years, the restaurant retained its original taste and flavor. We found out the reason why while exiting the restaurant: The young cook from two decades ago is now running the open kitchen as head chef. Great food and still reasonable prices. It was totally worth revisiting.
