Ordered shacho ramen and koryu ramen for the visit. Both noodles came out tasty. The ramen here has wonderful broths but the toppings are sparse. I highly recommend you order extra chashu and extra vegetables to make it more filling. The service was attentive and efficient. I wouldn't call it friendly or welcoming per se. I liked how well she had the timing for providing extra water and taking away unnecessary bowls or plates. My water was topped up without having to flag her down. At checkout, I didn't see an option for me to add a tip using ApplePay. I inquired about it as I thought she deserved a tip. The server told me she doesn't really care if she gets tips or not. Girl, I was about to give you a 30% tip for the decent service you provided me during the visit. No need to be snarky about it......I was WANTING to pay the tip. I wouldn't mind revisiting if I'm in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to revisit. There are other locations of Ko Ryu too, so I may try them instead. read more

Walked in and was seated right away. We sat at a nice table. The ambience of the restaurant was really nice and cozy. To drink I had Diet Coke. To order for lunch I had the Shacho Ramen with fried chicken as an extra topping. The soup taste fantastic. It has amazing flavors. They have their own small parking lot. Staff greeted us right away and tried to help us order, and was understandably when we needed more time . We tried the Karaage and it was overcooked, super chewy and crispy. The ramen with the Chasu was not my favorite. The flavor had a hint of liver to it. Either the stock had some liver organs in it, or it was by accident. It changed the flavor profile of the stock. And I didn't eat it, and gave it to the dogs. read more

This was our first time doing here. It was quite a distance from our home but we heard good things and wanted to give it a try. It's located in a small outdoor strip mall. Most dining is inside although I noticed one table and chairs outside by the parking lot. The waiter and server was ver friendly and attentive. I ordered the Yuzu Tomato Wagyu Ramen. I was a bit worried it would be too spicy but it wasn't. However it had an overpowering helping of noodles the were stuck together, sort of like boiled noodles from a frozen package. By guest felt the same way. I could not eat them with chopsticks and had to use a spoon to break the noodles apart. The wagyu beef was okay, sliced like one would find in a Pho restaurant. The overall flavor of my dish was pretty good. My guest had the Shacho Ramen. It's one of his favorite dishes at ramen restaurants and he enjoyed it very much. There is a parking lot for the mall that was nearly empty. In fact for most of our meal we were the only customers inside. I presume they get busier later in the day as we dined at 1:30 pm on a Sunday. All in all I recommend this restaurant for ramen fans. This place is so close to my house that it's really very convenient and also on top of that the food is very consistent. It's probably not the best ramen I've ever had, but for the price and how close it is it's the best I can get close to my house. The service is very consistent as well. This is either the more suburban sibling of the downtown San Pedro location or it is the first franchise based off the original concept. The location is in a small strip center where there is parking but if it's full you can probably find parking in easy walking distance. The food is good for quick prepared ramen. The service is pretty basic but we received our food faster than expected because the place was almost full at 6pm on a Friday. Unlike the downtown San Pedro location, this place SERVES NO ALCOHOL. That said, everybody who came in to eat seemed pleasant and focused on having a nice meal. Plenty of seating indoors and parking was easily accessible for free. The service was good and staff were attentive to our needs. After ordering a variety of dishes I would say the ramen and other dishes were just okay... the chicken karrage was overly fried to the point that the chicken was tough, the chashu in the ramen was fair, and the takoyaki was tiny and the octopus was chewy. The ambiance is fast casual dining with a clean atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad I decided to try something new but I will be sticking to my go to ramen spots. read more

I called before 7:55pm to order take out. The hours are close at 8:30pm. The restaurant refused to take my order because I couldn't arrive by 8:10 to pickup. I have ordered from here so many times. This is unacceptable service. I don't know why I am required to pickup my to go order 20 mins before their actual posted closing time. Ordered their signature Shacho Ramen (#18) and added a flavored boiled egg. Honestly, I was floored with how delicious and rich the broth was. Some of the best ramen I've had in a long time. The portion was huge too and was happy to have lunch leftovers the next day. Also tried the pork buns which are served in a taco style. The sauce they put on them was delicious and elevated the whole thing. It was pretty packed when we showed up on a Sunday evening but we were sat pretty quickly and although we had to wait a bit (I'm not mad they were busy with take-out orders too!) it was definitely worth the wait. Really good ramen - when it's done right, that is. When it's good, it's good - the Garlic Bomb Ramen is full of flavor, and the level of spice was well-measured (great kick with the second-highest heat tier!) The usual flavors were all accounted for, and they don't skimp on the garlic. All that said, wish that these folks would be more consistent with their to-go portion sizing; I've had to-go ramen bowl orders that have completely dried up in the microwave - so much for a hot bowl of soup on a rainy day! The managers here aren't willing to accomodate extra broth requests on to-go orders (unless you're willing to cough up another $5, which is a bit steep when you consider that you're already dropping at least $22-25 for a ramen bowl with some add-ons). In fact, they were downright dismissive the last time that I asked - not cool! Hoping for more consistency from these folks in the future - because again, the ramen itself is pretty solid. read more

I stopped by this place on a whim and boy am I glad I did! They had a grand opening sign by the entrance and had just opened a week prior. I ordered the garlic bomb ramen medium spicy and the karaage fried chicken. Everything was exceptional! The noodles are a thicker bouncy noodle that does the perfect job of picking up all the delicious flavor of the broth. The eggs were cooked and marinated to perfection, jammy yolks and full of flavor! The brother was also full of flavor nice thickness and an explosion of garlic! The medium spicy level was good for me, a little kick but nothing to break a sweat over. I love it but please be warned you'll need a mint after this bowl! The star of the show was the karaage chicken for me. Fried perfectly where it was hot and juicy inside but still totally crispy on the outside. They have a really nice ginger sauce coating the chicken which I haven't had before on karaage and I loved it! There was a small amount of shedded cabbage under the chicken that got all the delicious sauce in it and I even ate all the cabbage it was that good. The staff were so friendly! I got to meet the owner Kai and his wife Lin who was my server that day. My interaction with them was so lovely! I'm very sad I live so far away but I will be back and I highly recommend this place! read more
