They have an excellent bar up front and make great cocktails- my husband and dad both love the classic old fashion! I'm a sucker for a nice glass of Pinot Noir. If you're dining in (and you really should!) The pasta bolognese is a must have. Always amazing. And the black pepper shrimp over polenta is an amazing appetizer! So rich and delicious. These are both part of my go-to order here. Recently expanded my order and tried the short rib over polenta for the first time, it was amazing. Tender. Flavorful. Good sized portion. Wonderful. Will absolutely get again. For dessert, and there's always room for dessert here in my opinion, I love to get the rich panna cotta. This past time though we got the butterscotch budino, which was smooth and rich without being overly sweet. It was perfect to share (or not)! Just enough hint of butterscotch and topped with a crumbled shortbread cookie to an add a little crunch to the otherwise creamy treat. The staff is always helpful in making recommendations to suit your tastes too! There is a call ahead wait list and they've also started taking reservations. Enjoy your night out in Glen Ellyn at Fire and Wine, cheers!

Service in all areas was super friendly and helpful all night! Nice selection of their own mixed drinks, wine and good craft beer selection. By the time we were ready to be seated the place was hopping and nearly full, we asked for first available. Were seated immediately outside and service was always prompt. There's so much on the menu, my vegetarian friend had plenty to choose from and loved their gnocchi dish with veggies. I loved my salmon with fingerling potatoes and veggies. Fire + Wine will definitely be getting return visits from us!

I had the pimento dip, the 3 cheese breadsticks, and the baguette with fig spread and honestly considered canceling the rest of my day and just living there. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtful, and ridiculously good. The bread was perfect, the cheeses were rich and flavorful, and the fig spread with the baguette deserved its own fan club. The drinks absolutely held their own too. The Summer Spritz was crisp and refreshing, while the sangria came in with a polite smile and then quietly reminded me to respect it because wow, it was strong and delicious. Beyond the food and drinks, the whole place has this warm, beautiful French market vibe that feels cozy, elevated, and welcoming all at once. Great atmosphere, amazing flavors, and the kind of spot that makes you start planning your next visit before you've even paid the bill. Highly recommend.

They have so many different cheese options and new ones every time we come here. Don't be afraid to ask for samples if you're unsure! They'll gladly cut you a tiny piece to try. We love to buy the cheese to take and create our own charcuterie board at home, but we've also gotten theirs at the store to eat. You can pick 4 cheeses or meat for $20. They also sell everything else you might need to create a charcuterie board, like wine, jams, chocolate, bread, and crackers. I still need to try one of their sandwiches.

The rating hasn't changed, but I must report on their annual Wine Thing event, which was this past…read moreSunday. It's a fantastic event, and pretty popular. It works like this: They have about 100 wines set up to taste in a semi-circle around the store. A woman at the door checked our IDs, took our $5, and gave us a list of wines at each station. Everything being tasted was on sale for the day -- a minimum of 5% off with bigger discounts for larger quantities, up to 24% off. And then we were handed our "Wine Thing" wine glass (not to keep, alas) and a small bag of pretzels and headed in. This is not a huge store, so it was pretty crowded. But the people pouring the wines were as friendly and helpful as they could be, given the circumstances. And everyone was nice enough about letting people by, lubed up with good wine. Still, we had to emerge from the crowd every so often to get a little fresh air. But besides simply having more space for this event -- or maybe doing timed tickets or something? -- it's a GREAT way to taste a ton of wines from knowledgeable people and find a new favorite or two. :)

The spot itself is decorated beautifully. Indoor and out, this was very well thought out. It is a cute yet sophisticated place to grab coffee (or adult drinks), get some work done, or meet up with a few friends and just enjoy. The outdoor patio is beauuuuutiful. If you look at photos before it was a patio, wowwwww. It needed a lot of TLC and that is exactly what it got. I stopped in during a weekday morning and asked the staff member what was the most popular coffee drink. She said it was the amaretto latte which I did end up ordering. This is probably the only coffee place that carries amaretto syrup. My advice? Get it, you might not be able to try it anywhere else. It's nutty, sweet and delicious. Prices are on the higher side, however, it's a small and locally owned coffee shop. I might be wrong but this might actually be the only small and locally owned coffee shop in Warrenville. Who doesn't love supporting local?

I also forgot my sunglasses and they let us sit at a 4-seated table instead of a 2 on a Fri evening, just so I could have some shade for my eyes. My only reason for a 4 instead of a 5 star is because I really wish they served food for dinner beyond cheese and crackers.
