Sir, this is a Wendy's drive thru

I've been to this fun little gem a few times and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience each time. Inside is a cute little house, a bit tight when it's busy, but when the patio is open - it's a great space to stretch out! I think the seasonal cocktails rotate monthly or damn near close. Then there are usual cocktails which are always a good time. I appreciate the mad scientist, mixology that goes into these beverages. Just fun concoctions! The service is always great too - just be patient with them.

I love this place. While they have a few snacks, this a coffee shop in the morning and cocktail house in the afternoon. A little funky. Huge variety. Exceedingly well made. Seasonal menus. Always good. Feel free to sit inside or out on the patio. Either way, the friendly and knowledgeable staff can't wait to help you through their menu.

Common good has unique refreshing and indulgent drinks ! It's tucked away in downtown Glen Ellyn . It's cozy and comfortable and the waitstaff is attentive and knowledgeable. There's some bites to eat but they were out when I went . They also have some great mocktails !

5/10/25 Update Still is my favorite neighborhood bar, and honestly, it's ruining other bars for me. The cocktails are so good it's borderline suspicious, the staff is friendlier than my relatives, and the service is so smooth I half-expect them to hand me a robe and slippers. The cocktail Mr. Milchick's Terrible, Awful, No Good, Very Bad Day? Ironically, it turned my day into a spectacular, wonderful, exceptionally good, very fine evening. It's hands down the best drink I've had in years--like a warm hug in a fancy glass. Sure, it's a bit pricey, but totally worth it. If I had a drinking buddy, I'd be here so often they'd name a barstool after me. Until then, it's just me, my drink, and the strong urge to be best friends with everyone behind the bar.

If you're looking for more than just a happy hour--if you're seeking a place that makes you happy for hours--look no further than Common Good Cocktail House. This isn't just a bar; it's an experience. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warmth, professionalism, and a genuine passion for hospitality. Chad, David, Eric, and the enitre staff are not only masters of mixology, but also curators of comfort and connection. Every cocktail is a work of art, every interaction feels personal, and every visit leaves you wanting to come back.

First time coming in for coffee and breakfast. As always, the gentleman behind the bar was so kind. My iced latte was delicious. The biscuit breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, and pimento cheese (they're collaborating with Bang Bang Pie now for some breakfast items) was so good. Biscuit had a nice crust yet remained fluffy on the inside. Love Common Good as a coffee and breakfast option now!

Gorgeous place to go on date or with friends. Very pleasing aesthetically. Love the mood lighting and decoration. Delicious drinks. Amazing service (my only complaint is the ordering process. I'm used to paper menus and paper receipts). And soooo packed. Which means it's a great place to go decompress from the day to day life. Will definitely visit again when I'm back I Chicago.

Common Good is a nice spot to grab a crafted drink before dinner located across the street from the Glen Ellyn train station. Kingslayer Rye was my leadoff drink and the description was true to the execution, "Dry-Heat, Sweet-Spicy, Murderous", very creative! Other drinks, including the Black Manhattan and Sazerac were solid versions. We sat in the bar area, which was fine, but I'd recommend sitting outside if the weather is right. Our mixologist/bartender/server was a bit stiff until it came time to run our bill, then came alive.

What a fun local cocktail bar in downtown Glen Ellyn! Reasonably priced drinks from an extensive menu is the perfect spot for a girls night or a pre/post dinner drink! They also have pretzels, chips and dip, and popcorn as snacks to accompany the drinks which was a nice touch. Highly recommend stopping by!

The hubby wanted to check out this speakeasy and we were certainly in for good treats! The cocktails were delicious! They have a twist in how they do some cocktails. We decided to try most of their sweet and slow sip cocktails. The alcohol is loaded so please drink responsibly. Overall, we loved it. The bartenders were super nice and recommended great drinks. It's a small bar so please keep in mind seating may be limited to larger groups. We highly recommend this place! Parking is free along the street.

Do they only make the drinks on the menu?

Hi Jamie! While we think our menu is pretty darn cool, we can certainly provide off-menu cocktails.

The curry wurst was the bomb but needed more sauce. The sauce was heavenly though. The potato pancakes great and flavorful. The cabbage rolls tasty. The liver soup not my favorite only because it had a liver taste--which if you like, then you'll like it. The saurkraut and purple cabbage the best Ive ever tasted and worth getting. The spetzel so-so, not much flavor. Son liked it though. The bread dumplings ok. More like white bread. The big pork shank that is the prize-it was good but not as stellar as we thought it would be. And we did make sure to order it crispy like it said to and it wasn't. Looked like it was a little browned but even my young son said the fat isn't rendered. I think it would have been a lot better if it had been crispy like in other pictures on here. Disappointed. It's like $35. Not cheap. The beef with sauce (sauerbraten) was good, the sauce great, the beef ok. The special that was going on, the beef roulade. Nobody liked it at all. The stuff just didn't taste good together in it. Overall, it was a good experience. The waitress Rosie was amazing, most of the food was great to awesome. The ambiance was German and cozy. Our favorites: the curry wurst sauce, the saurkraut and red cabbage and the stuffed cabbage rolls.

We liked the other place this was so we figured we would give it a try. For a Saturday night, it was dead. We were the only table eating there. The rest looked like regulars at the bar. We had a party with 3 adults and 3 kids so we were glad they could accommodate so quickly but should have been a red flag. Service was super slow. (Like I said, we were the only table!) Sart to finish was almost 2 hours! And with littles getting impatient, made us impatient. Like it's bed time now! Food I can sum up quick, SALTY! I am always a sucker for fried food but dang, water chugging commence. Loaded tots were the best thing. Every meal we got was way too over salted, no other flavor. Side veggies were awful! Like they tried to quick defrost frozen veggies by microwave and way over did it and salted the heck out of them. Couldn't even bite through them. I really have nothing good to say about our visit. Will not return.

Can't remember being so disappointed in a restaurant..Apparently one side is a party room and the other side a casual place..the party side looked lovely..tables with white tablecloths, a fireplace, flowers..really nice. Sadly, we were directed to the left side...and told "just sit anywhere..." The menu on the table we chose was stuck to the table...the noise level was so bad he had to turn off his hearing aids...Lucky him,,between the door and the table I must have heard the F word about fifteen times...We finally got a server and she did a good job..there was another young woman there too but she looked about as disinterested as possible...she was carrying drinks out to tables one at a time, while the other was carrying full trays....To be honest I will say the potato soup was great..very flavorful...My husband had a BLT and he said it was very good..lots of bacon and nice crisp lettuce....We had no liquor, just iced tea. Bill was $44.00, which seems a bit steep. When we were done eating our server said "Let me get your check" I'm not quite sure where she had to get it because we waited about 20 minutes. Needless to say, we won't be going back....
