When you get such a great deal, you may be tempted to keep it to yourself... you know, to prevent popularity from somehow spoiling it. We loved using Otto's Tavern for my husband's 40th birthday "Roast." The entire crew was totally friendly and accommodating. With no "minimum" beverage cost to meet to use the space, we were able to control the experience at a cost we could afford, while still hosting a really great party for our friends. This place is the epitome of a dive bar, and boy, does it work for this joint. The place is located on the corner of Crescent Blvd. and Finley Rd. It's not really nearby any other major businesses except for a little strip mall next to it; after that, it's just residences. The train tracks practically pass through the building, so you can hear the engine flying by about every half hour. The place is frequented by bikers, so in the warmer months, expect to see a lot of bikes parked out front. They also have an outdoor beer garden. The crowd is mostly townies in the upper 40's crowd. They have a decent selection of drinks and beer on tap. The tables and decor is your typical dive bar fare, they have a jukebox that is usually playing some form of metal. Staff is friendly and generally pretty attentive. They have a couple TVs where they play whatever game you ask them to put up. All in all, a generally decent local bar. My favorite time to go is during the colder months when it's not so packed, kick back and chill. read more

This place sits on the border of Glen Ellyn and Lombard along the railroad tracks and appears to be frequented by lon time locals from both villages. Wonderful place full of nostalgia for my husband and I. We have spent many a date and special times with friends here and always have a wonderful time. The first bar I've been to with a popcorn machine and the food is great. Hubby's family knows the owner and can attest to the care he takes into selecting the best pizza and burgers- and I can attest to him owning an adorable dog... who sometimes makes an appearance at the bar! read more

First bar I was ever served a beer in at age 21. Grew up in the neighboring town so I still know the area well. Much has chgd over the years for Ottos. They still have their outdoor deck which is great in the summer. Much updating has occurred since I was in here last, probably 10 years ago or so. Floor & interior has modernized along with decor. They still have a secondary area for people to socialize which is separate from the main bar area. I didnt enter that area this time. Patrons are still friendly(Lombard was always a decent town w/ minimal riffraff). Bartender friendly, fairly attentive and I was glad to see they have a decent selection of tap beer choices. However of the 3 beers that I sampled all had an off flavor to them which tells me they haven't cleaned their beer lines for awhile. Not a good thing. Hopefully they've just been too busy lately. Other than that, they have plenty of parking. East & West lot and Ottos is still a decent place for a stop along w/ several tvs to see sporting events. read more

This is pretty much a bikers bar, but you see all types here. They have a nice large patio off in the back, with t.v.'s. Lots of room to roam, with 1 pool table in another room. They only accept cash, no credit cards, but an ATM is on-site. The bathrooms are pretty cool, at least the ladies room is anyway, the walls and floors are in diamond sheet metal. Dumpy bar very hard to find in Lombard. You would of had to grown up in the area to know where it is and find it. Not really worth going to so it's hard to find location is good. Been told a rough crowd goes there but that might have been in the eighties. I saw nothing but pussycats read more

It's a Lombard landmark. Great place, great atmosphere. Love going there. There is also a great outdoor beer garden and it's located next to train tracks which adds more character to the place, especially when a train passes by. They also have an old fashioned popcorn machine inside for fresh popcorn. So much character to appreciate there. A local favorite. read more

Was in Otto's for lunch about 14/15 yrs ago (same owners, same food). Had what I thought was one of the best Reuben sandwiches EVER! Often thought about going back but just never did. Well Last night was a must with St Patty's day coming up I had Reuben on the brain. Let me tell you it was just as good as I remembered it to be all those yrs ago. Do yourself a favor if you're in the Lombard area, stop in for a Reuben you will not be disappointed. I will not be waiting 15 more yrs to go back. Only reason it didn't give 5*s is because there wasn't a beer special (they had ladies night specials) but a beer special of some kind should be ever night just my opinion. Also they have updated their ways and do take Credit Cards now! read more

We went in about 4 pm tonight the bartender was absolutely amazing. She was super sweet and very attentive. She took the time to walk from behind the bar and greet myself and my boyfriend while the bar was super busy. She made us feel very welcome at ottos I recommend everyone to go there for a good time. read more

This is a great local bar. I worked there for 23 years and left to open my own While You Were Out Pet Sitters business. They have a great beer garden an plenty of televisions inside and out. Many regulars and it is very friendly and easy going if you are a newcomer. Fantastic food and a vast beer variety. Small town bar atmosphere that most people miss with all of the chain restaurants and bars. Try it once and you will like it. Try is a few times and you have found a new home. Otto's is a great neighborhood tavern. It is definitely a beer and shot joint, but the bartenders are more than willing to make any drink you ask. Otto's is one of my favorite local bars to go to, and the atmosphere is very friendly. The bar is bike friendly, NOT a biker bar. Everyone I have ever met there has been very nice and personable. It's a bar, not a grill. if you are lucky, you may be able to get a cardboard pizza. Nice enough place, but they do not know when to cut their customers off. It's a bit of a dive (not that there is anything wrong with that) but the prices are a bit high. Agree with a previous poster, the bathrooms are awesome. read more

I don't usually Yelp unless the place I'm at is beyond outstanding . I'm not the one to tattle on places for having one bad day we all have those but ottos is exceptional and the bartenders have been nothing but welcoming and amazing . I truly feel at home here . I recently moved to Wheaton from elburn and I could not feel more in my element then at ottos . I strongly recommend this bar if your a talkative person willing to meet new people and have a great time at a clean exciting place . read more

This is one of my favorite bars to go to with friends, or by myself. They have great bartenders, and the regulars there are really nice too. As a girl it's nice to be able to walk into a bar by yourself and know that you're safe. It's a pretty big bar too! There's the main bar area where most people are, if you go up the stairs by the front door there is a hallway that leads to a smaller room with a pool table and Golden tee. Out back they have a rather large Beer Garden with picnic tables and umbrellas, televisions, and if it's nice out they are more than happy to set up the Bags if anyone wants to play. Every time I go there it's a fun time, I highly recommend this bar. read more
