This was a very odd experience. There was no wait on a Friday night and should've taken that as a sign to leave. I've been to many Japanese steak houses and have always asked for no butter. Has never been an issue until last night. Was treated rudely by the chef. I asked for no butter and chef kept saying no sauce! Hmmmm.....he was also very rushed and grumpy with the other family at our table because the kids plates weren't placed to his liking. Think there were only 2 chefs working too. Explains the many empty tables. I ordered the filet and hubby ordered the chicken, filet and lobster. He was sick all night and I didn't eat much of mine, but still felt queasy. The salad was a joke. The cucumber was soggy and limp like it had been frozen. Not the traditional ginger dressing on every other Japanese steak house in the country, almost like thousand island and it too seemed like it had been frozen. The iceberg was nothing to write home about. The onion soup was not even edible. Think they put French's fried onion rings like the ones in can that are on so many green bean dishes at thanksgiving. Weird flavor. The waitress seemed overworked and said she did what she could with the language barrier between the chef. On last thing, a gal was mopping the cook area of adjacent tables and all around as we were still eating....yuck! I know they need to clean up, but I'm talking a huge mop and big dirty yellow bucket! Oh well, wont be going back. Oh, no dipping sauce for meats and veggies or the special hot sauce. Just a yum yum sauce that looked like the salad dressing. read more

If you are looking for good teppanyaki, food and experience, this is not the place to go. The food was flavorless. The fried rice was oily and seasoned with soy sauce. The only additional Ingredients were a little onion and egg. No seasonings, veggies or bacon. The meat was also flavorless and a bit oily. The taste of unpleasantness lasted a long time. No sauces were served, which was odd. I asked for some teriyaki sauce and it was COLD! The show was lackluster and I didn't find being squirted in the face by a squeeze water bottle, topped with a man on a toilet, very funny. The drinks were good, but that's it. Asked to be at the bar and watched 3-5 waiters/waitresses chat and stand around. Told myself I'd wait for 10 min once that came and went ended up leaving. Meh! The food was decent. Maybe if you prefer screwed up drink orders and then salad, followed by entree, followed by appetizers, followed by soup, this is your place. As far as hibachi is concerned Kobe was very average. The onion soup that came with the dinner was in e do the best tasting things I ate. Sat at sushi bar with my buddy. After 5 minutes I went back to hostess and asked for menus. Server took order and brought out food. We had to ask for our drinks. I noticed a table of 6 also got food before drinks. Sushi was good, but wasabi was old and not very hot. I got my own soy sauce from a close by table. Calamari was good, but $9.95 for 8 rings. 6/9/2018 Had to try this place after my wife heard they are open, and that they have poke on the menu. Went in after the lunch menu was over ( after 4pm - prices were slightly higher by this time ). Anyways, asked how the poke was served/prepared, and was no way near to what this Hawaiian was craving/expecting, - so passed on that. Wife ended up getting the chicken katsu with fried rice , and I ordered the teriyaki beef with white rice ( we got it to go - side note, restaurant was clean and decent looking. Kinda looked as it may really cater to large groups ). Anyways, meal came with salad and miso soup. Wife said house salad wasn't bad ( I didn't have any, cause they put their own dressing on it - don't like dressing ) and the miso soup was ho-hum. Wife liked the chicken katsu, while the fried rice was nothing special. My teri beef was ok. Really wish the portions were bigger, compared to the price. Rating would be more like a 2 1/2. Well, everyone's got different taste buds, and you may enjoy this place more than we did. read more

Came in for my birthday and everyone in my family loved it. The food was really tasty. The staff was attentive. Our cook (didn't get his name) was very entertaining. This restaurant is newer and it shows but the sushi was delicious. The service was probably a 3, sweet girl just really new and not aware of great service as a waiter. Had the green mussels would I would recommend putting a little sriracha on to spice them up but overall tasted good. I walked in after a GIANT dinner rush and the place was trashed. I felt so sorry for them! BUT - they cleaned a bar spot for me, took great care of me, and the sushi chef even gave me an adorable cut orange as a thank you for my patience. This is actually the only real food in Montana. It's amazing and I highly recommend. However no one where's masks sooooooo be prepared for that. So that's a lack of stars here is mainly why: the chef was flat out drunk. No joke drunker than a bachelorette party. Was super sloppy dropped everything I had eggshell rice and the scallops were raw in the middle. His pants hung so low I had a plumber crack view that made me want to throw up. The waitress (with terrible tattoo sleeves with flowers and jack and sally tattoo that would embarrass Tim Burton) (he's a family friend so I would know) ( don't be surprised I'm from LA) kept coming to our table and I'm pretty sure she was on crack or something she was so obsessive with how everything was I was uncomfortable. I think she wanted a tip but uh we don't do that where we're from. The chef didn't wear a mask when he was later cleaning the grills and was dumping sanitizer on them and mopping it up with a dirty rag I could smell ten feet away. He looked about 50 with an unkept beard/ clothing appearance. Just for the manager to know who to fire. Now that our summer visitors have thinned put we tried KOBE on Friday night. When we arrived we were concerned that it might be packed since the parking lots were very full but think most of those people were at a neighboring brewery. We chose to sit at the grills and were provided menus and drink orders were taken immediately. It was only five or ten minutes until more customers were seated at our table/grill and the chef the. Arrived and began cooking and putting on his show. At first it was awkward but then we began visiting with others primarily in response to our chef. My wife chose a shrimp scallops combo while I chose a steak scallops combo. We were both pleased with our dinners which included soup, salad and rice either steamed or fried. Other customers chose similar items and all were cooked pretty much together. One customer ordered something from the back kitchen which was delivered about the time we began being served. This is a very clean and attractive restaurant with Japanese chefs and mostly local servers. It would be a great venue with friends but fine for singles and couples as well. As a former hotelier I was very involved in the food industry and must compliment the owner and staff of this unique experience here in the Flathead. read more

My wife had a craving for some teppanyaki while we were on vacation. We found this place and headed over. Our waitress Ariel was average at best. We mentioned that the grill was dirty, as it had left over food on it from the last time. We were assured it would be cleaned. It wasn't. Came in on a whim...had a BLAST! No wait, food was excellent, and Larry (our chef) was amazing! He was inclusive, made our whole table laugh, and made a mean filet. I've been to the other chain teppanyaki restaurants, and this felt so much more personal. Only recommendation would be to get rid of the white sauce and bring in a saltier sauce to compliment the ginger sauce. This is the best place I've eaten in a very long time. Great service right away. My wife said they had soft shell crab that's kinda why we chose it because we've never had soft shell crab. So right away we ordered the spider roll. Oh man it was better that I thought it would be. I'm sorry but I cant remember the other roll but it had snow crab equally great. And some awesome beef noodles . I'm so sorry I didn't remember the names of anything but the spider.
