The restaurant is so comfortable, nicely decorated and always very clean. This is our favorite spot in Kalispell. So, Just bought a place in Kalispell. During the process of finding the property, I tried Grinnel Tap and Grill two months ago. I have eaten all over the United States and other countries. I have to say that the food prepared here at Grinnel'ls is amongst the best I have had. The coconut shrimp is the best ever. The garlic wings were done perfectly and the garnish was fresh (unlike McKenzie Pizza). Not everything is perfect but I'd give the calamari a 7.5 out of 10. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. This is 3rd time here. I walked out of Buffalo Hot Wings earlier today dissatisfied with their selection and pricing. Another favorite for happy hour of mine is the Montana Club. Given the opportunity to choose either restaurant, hands down it would be Grinnell's. The wait staff at Grinnells doesn't act like they are doing you a favor. Blair is usually behind the bar. Great restaurant find in Kalispell... Thank you again Yelpers! Really enjoyed the meal here with many colleagues. Absolutely loved the coconut shrimp appetizer. The same goes for my salmon dinner, really good stuff. The dining room was really nice and clean, so it was very comfortable. I must recognize our server Katie who was simply outstanding! She has that warm personality knack of making you feel special and she really did care and helped us with menu questions. She made the experience just that much better so thank you. Came in at 11:30 right at opening. Service was great-- awesome server Amanda. Atmosphere is really fitting for a rustic upscale grill. The food was pretty good. Unique menu. Got pork belly with Korean bbq appetizer. It was good. 7/10. You have to like Korean flavors. I ordered the fish and chips for Meal. Fish was breaded well and tasted good. 6.8/10. The fries were good. The plate just lacked some flavor overall. Many wine choices and draft beer options available. Prices are higher for lunch but overall I would give this grill a 7.5/10 read more

They used to have the best fish and chips I have ever had. The seasoned breading secret recipe was amazing. Went last week and they are now serving the same battered fish you can get anywhere. They took the garlic and parmesan fries off the menu as well. Big disappointment from a previously excellent restaurant. Having recently moved to the area this is our newest go to place. Food is amazing with a very friendly staff.

We've been to this place several times in the last few months on a Saturday night. It's never crowded so you can always get a table. The food is really good. We've tried the chicken parm which is actually a nice sized chicken breast with a fresh crispy coating. Not some premade patty you get at some places. The mushroom chicken is moist and delicious, the coconut prawns are yummy and the wait staff are really friendly. The interior is nicely decorated with good ambiance. My only suggestions would be a weekly special just to change things up for the regulars and the tint on the windows is so dark you can't tell whether the place is open or not. read more

We had visited in the past before the name change and enjoyed our visit. We tried the place again for dinner only to find to a limited menu which only included high dollar items. One party member ordered the walnut salad only to find no walnuts. When brought up the staff had to find out from the kitchen they were out of walnuts. It was discounted 20% after we mentioned the discrepancy, but they were happy to serve it without the main ingredient. When ordering a $35 New York strip blackened it was noted that they rarely do it and it'll be up to the kitchen. While they did it and it was well done it was off putting to question the request. It was a very expensive experience without the accommodation that price point usually entails. It was a good meal, but for the price was poor value. The restaurant aims to be something it doesn't deliver on. Consider a more established steakhouse for dinner. read more

I would give them a 4.5 out of 5. The staff was amazing, friendly and attentive. The food was excellent. We had the ribeye French dip sandwich - loaded with meat, with grilled onions and mushrooms and the au jus was very nice, not just warmed bullion! The fries were seasoned very well and the beers and wine were priced and sized as expected for the price. My only complaint, and it is minor, is that when they wipe down the tables they use a strong smelling bleach solution, so when we sat, the first smell was that of bleach. It doesn't take that much bleach in the water to kill the germs so my solution would be to cut back slightly on the bleach and the smell won't be as strong. read more

Very disappointed as I really wanted to like this place. Beware they upsell just about everything. I was told I got a soup or salad with my meal. Choices were French onion soup and seafood chowder. No mention that the chowder was an extra dollar. Was told I got a choice of mashed or baked potato with my meal & could also get it fully loaded at no extra charge, but there was a three dollar charge for vegetables, . So I ordered the loaded, baked potato,. She didn't tell me there was a $4 up charge for a loaded baked potato. Ordered a $14 glass of red wine served in a tiny white wine glass and a very small poor. Not worth it. Restaurant is beautiful, server was friendly even though she didn't tell me about the extra charge for items. Food was good, but not worth the prices. My husband and I walked in thinking this was a place we would like to bring family when they visit. We left saying we would never be back. read more

I previously wrote about the unavailability of warm beverages which, happily, has been resolved. Coffee and tea are now available. I went with a large group (14) yesterday and I am happy to report that the food and service were both outstanding. Some of us opted to order a couple of appetizers and an entree to be eaten "family style" which required separate plates. Amanda was quite gracious in meeting our request. We ordered the crab cakes, coconut shrimp and chicken Alfredo... perfect for the 4 at my table. The ladies who decided not to share, well, it looked to me that most went home with leftovers! Ordered take-out and anticipated an appetizer-sized meal (one meant to feed 2-4 people), paying $16 for pork belly and cut up asparagus smaller than a McDouble. I think even the hostess was shocked at how small the "meal" was, but we both played polite and carried on with our day as one does. Can't say anything particularly positive about the pork belly as it was exceedingly basic, but I still ended up eating it despite the mediocre portions. I don't mean to be such a downer about it because I found the service to be just fine outside of the abysmal appetizer for how expensive it ended up being. That all said, I'm sure that it's a quality restaurant but I feel they need to make clear that the pork belly is only for a single person and should not be the same value as a full-sized entrée. The serving size for pork belly should exceed a frozen meal, let alone match the proportions of adjacent meals on the menu. However, I hope they stay in the Valley as we always need local restaurants like this around. Maybe I'll have a much better experience the next time I go, and rectify this review due to it! read more

First time to Grinnell tap and grill. It's a cute little spot with nice decor. They were pretty busy when we came in and I really felt like the only person working was our server. She was doing the most to take care of seating people, serving food/drinks and bussing tables. The food left a lot to be desired. whatever they load the baked potatoes with was not good. The steaks were decent. Lobster tail was good but could have been hotter. Overall it was an okay experience but I'm not sure I would go back. Server was great. read more

I've been here twice since they opened and have enjoyed both times. The decor and ambience is very welcoming and the added booths make a huge difference from the Brass Tap days. There's a good choice of food and everything I ate was delicious! They serve steak, seafood, burgers, sandwiches and a nice variety of appetizers. Came to Grinnell's Tap and Grill on a recommendation from a friend, and wow--this place absolutely blew me away. I ordered the prime rib dip with fries, and it was hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The meat was tender, the bread was crisp but soft inside, and the au jus was rich and full of flavor. As a starter, we shared the crab cakes, and they were so good we almost ordered a second round. Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside, seriously addictive. The vibe here is welcoming and energetic, and even though the place was packed, our server was on point the entire time. It's rare to find a place that nails both the food and the experience like this. Can't wait to go back and try more off the menu. read more

One of our favorite restaurants in the Valley. The food is always high quality and generous portions. (Always a doggy bag for leftovers). Dined there last night. 2 people in our party had the chicken with mushroom sauce, one had parmesan crusted chicken and one the sirloin). All got rave reviews. My personal favorite is the shrimp veggie bowl (parmesan and cilantro sauce on the side). My husband enjoys the fettuccine Alfredo. To the owner... Food is great.. atmosphere is great. What staff they have is trying hard to please the customers. Our food took over an hour before it came to the table. We were ready to walk out. We've been many time and recommended to people. But it is so understaffed, that is seriously hurting the business. We've decided not to come on weekend, because of lack of staffing. So this is completely different from the last restaurant. The restaurant is elevated in decor. The food is also elevated. No sports tvs. Very nice. That being said, in their effort to make the food look beautiful and it did, the chicken strips were a little undercooked. We were there on the second day it was opened. The wait staff tried to be attentive but failed to replenish drinks and remove finished plates. I will wait a few weeks and try again. Incredibly sad that they didn't keep the pretzels and beer cheese. Those that ate burgers loved them. My fish and chips were average. We were there during the lunch hour. read more

So went to the Grinnell Tap for a late Lunch early dinner and I can say the decor was beautiful- but it ends there. There was only one waitress and I know she was trying her best but took 15 minutes to get a Coke and a total of 25 minutes for her to take our order. The photo skins for $12 is a joke they were 4 little tiny wedges which probably didn't even equal 1 potato. My husk hamburger and fries were so so , but my Caesar salad with chicken was terrible, the chicken strips looked like processed chicken pressed into strips. So sorry to say for their prices and food definitely won't be going back. And my only other question is where are these people writing all the great reviews coming from? read more
