I discovered Kodiak Cakes after searching for "healthy waffles". Headed to Safeway and picked up a box of their Thick & Fluffy Buttermilk and Vanilla Power Waffles. The six pack is pricey ($8 or so) compared to Eggo but I'll gladly pay more for better ingredients. The waffles are dark brown in color, tasty, can easily burn in the toaster and surprisingly weren't as dry as I had anticipated. I followed the toasting instructions but that resulted in a soggy experience. On my second try I toasted them like a normal waffle and they came out a lot better. Further research revealed that these waffles have more carbs, calories and sugar than Eggo, but I guess the benefit is more protein. read more

Recently my teen and I found these Kodiak pancake cups. They are so easy! Add your milk of choice, give it a quick stir, pop it in the microwave, keep an eye on it ( we did explode one once in a Mt. Vesuvius situation when we left it in too long, oops) and you will have a warm yummy breakfast with an impressive amount of protein and a dose of fiber from the whole grains. No, they are not keto. Yes, they have sugar. We like them. My kid adds peanut butter or jam. I add some banana slices. You do you! These cups come in all varieties including muffins, brownies, oatmeal. Fantastic is the only way to describe their Kodiak Cakes product. I just finished my second box and I'll never look for another mix. I've never been big on any kind of mixes. The one exception I make is pancakes. I need ease of use when I go for the " complete" breakfast! HaHa! All kidding aside, I saw Kodiak cakes at eye level in the store a few months ago and bit. They realed me in like a 5 lb Bass with the way they mixed up and cooked up. The flavor, OMG! How do they make it so much better. The product is decent enough but I won't be buying any more of it (which we typically have done) after tonight's experience. I was looking for a restroom nearby and pulled into a nearby parking lot. An employee was coming out the door and (unusually rudely) didn't offer to hold it open. I didn't ask for anything at all - I was just walking by, but she could have asked, right..? At any rate, she decided to verbally attack me and then follow me around the building (for whatever reason) filming me on her phone/camera without my consent. I'm an 84098 local, and this whole experience left the most absolute worst taste in my mouth. So I'll be buying products from Van's from now on. Unless I get some confirmation from Kodiak that this personnel issue has been addressed. read more

A great price at Costco on sale, so it came home with me. A waffle morning, so there it went straight on to to waffle iron. I added a little more water to make a thin batter, And it came out perfect. Honestly, you can't even tell the batter came from a box, or me making it from scratch! I like the convenient packages, and definitely will be making the next batch with pancakes! read more

I've heard of Cup O' Noodles, and Cup of Soup, and I'll bet you a nickel you've probably had both. But have you ever seen, consumed, or even heard of a cup of pancakes? Well neither did I until I saw one in the supermarket on Sunday and this morning when I had it for breakfast, and let me tell ya, it was pretty good. It's a packaged gizmo where you peel back the top, add a quarter cup of water to the packaged batter, and microwave it for 60 seconds. And when that timer beeps, what do you get? A nice cup with a big giant fluffy pancake inside with very good texture and very good taste. I was very surprised at how good it was. 250 calories, 4.5 grams of saturated fat, 300 mg of sodium, and 15 grams of sugar. Definitely not terrible for a once in a while convenience. My favorite morning breakfast to prepare for my grownup kids is pancakes. I wake at 6:30. They might not rise before 11. KODIAK solved my frustration. I'm overdue on posting this... I've been eating their pancake mix and their Flapjack Power Cups for quite a while now. Once I discovered the S'mores Flapjack, I was in love! The best thing about the S'mores flavor for me, is that the marshmallows are made of tapioca, not gelatin. I also enjoy the Buttermilk & Maple on occasion, and the Muffin cups aren't bad either. Their pancake mix is excellent, has added protein which is awesome, and it doubles very well as a waffle mix too. The only gripe I may have about the cup varieties is that for some reason, they leave a slightly grimy 'film' on the roof of my mouth. Probably has to do with the ingredients that make the 'flapjack' rise. A little while back one of the S'mores Flapjacks I got didn't have any marshmallows. Anyone who's had a S'mores knows that without the marshmallow, it's just not a 'S'mores'. I can say, without a doubt, that the S'mores flapjack cup is extremely underwhelming without the marshmallows. I contacted Kodiak on Facebook to let them know about this issue, and they got back to me pretty quickly to remedy the situation. They wanted to make sure that this didn't happen again, so they asked for the information off the 'cup' so they could look into it. They then had me send them my mailing information so they could send me coupons to make up for the error. The coupons were sent quickly, and they more than made up for the lack of marshmallows! I will definitely continue to support companies like Kodiak that stand behind their products! read more

Bought these for the first time to incorporate more protein into my diet for breakfast and this product got great reviews. Unfortunately, the second I opened it, there was a live bug inside, squirming around in the mix. This is really disappointing and unsanitary. Kodiak Cakes aren't the healthiest as advertised, but remains a favorite product of mine. Must be the cuteness of the Kodiak Bear! Upon hiking Rocky Mountain National Park, we actually brought a variety of hiker's friendly snacks, including tuna packets. We still had a sweet tooth craving, and Kodiak Bear Bites came to the rescue. These awfully cute claw, and bear face shaped tiny cookies come in cinnamon, chocolate and honey. These are fantastic for a camping trip, because it fits with the campers theme: Bears and wildlife. Some days, when I have nothing in mind to eat, Kodiak Cakes has some wonderful cupped pancake cups that are super yummy and only takes 1 minute to prepare. I'll add a spray of "Reddi Whipped Cream" on top, and pretend I was just at a family breakfast restaurant! The Strawberry Protein Oatmeal packets are incredibly easy to make, but definitely not as protein packed as I'd like. I enjoy adding Protein Powder, and it boosts the Protein count at greater serving. Sometimes Nick makes Kodiak Cakes in the morning with protein powder and milk, and the outcome are these wide and fluffy pancakes that are thick and flavorful. Although $10.00 a bottle, their Raspberry Fruit syrup are simply my new favorite sweetener!! Other flavors include Peanut Butter and Nut Butter Syrup as well. Got their Power Flapjacks at the store yesterday and they were terrible. I think I was fooled by the nice packaging. They were dry and tasteless and I ended up throwing out 9 of the 12 flapjacks that were in the box. Complete waste of money! read more
