The only reason we stopped by on 2/16 was because of the food truck sign. They had a taco vendor that day which served the BEST tacos ever! We order carne asada, chicken and veggie tacos and it was our favorite meal of our trip! I know Koehler switches food vendors weekly but I hope they have this taco vendor on a regular basis. As for the winery, super nice people, very welcoming. My daughter loved the tree house area and seeing emus up close. Koehler wines are ok. The food is what really brings us in. We'll be stopping by each time we visit in hopes that this taco vendor is there:) read more

I visited Koehler Winery on Friday, August 17th with several other girls. Dan poured a variety of wines for us, and each wine was simply amazing! He was very knowledgeable and accommodating while we were there which was much appreciated. My girl friends and I were able to walk around the property for a bit after our wine tasting, and it was a wonderful experience. If I didn't live in Chicago, I would go back there all the time! I will never come here again! I was celebrating my birthday for the weekend and it was my first time wine tasting near santa Barbara. This place was the last stop to end a wonderful weekend. I'm not sure if hes the owner but he was so rude to me, to were he ruined my tasting and made me cry. he was talking crap about the woman race. come on dude! if you are the owner that the most unprofessional conversation that you can have with a room full of woman. I have to admit their wine is good but I do not support unprofessional and rude customer service. read more

This is a great winery. The staff was great. The location is beautiful. They have a guy who makes fresh brick oven pizza on the weekend at certain times, pizza was really good. The grounds are very nice with many places to walk and site. There are Emus to look at which is fun for kids. This is a kid and dog friendly winery, my kids liked it here which made the tasting more enjoyable. Now to the wine. The wine was fantastic. The Dry Riesling is one of the best Rieslings I have had. The Red wines were fantastic. I was thinking of skipping this place on my wine trip but am so glad I didn't because it was so good. Left with a lot of wine from here to enjoy later. read more

This was my favorite winery stop on my Grapeline tour. I wanted to buy every wine we tasted though our budget didn't allow that so we bought a red and a white. Had both several months later and they were still tasty. Considering buying a membership in the future it was that good. read more

Gotta love some of the small wineries in this area. Koehler was a sleeper hit with us! The tasting room was pretty empty compared to some of the other vineyards we went to and although the guy who poured our wine was a bit of a dud (He was sporting melancholy like it was a fashion statement) we were really wowed with the wines. Although high on the price point if you are not a member, this little winery might be worth the stop on your next visit to Foxen Canyon. read more

You don't have to be Kosher to drink Koehler.... They are specialists at white wine, I personally walked away with a 2010 Sauvignon Blanc. Pretty savvy, huh? On a glowing day, the outside porch of Koehler is a perfect place to picnic and drink. read more

First of all the web site is false it looks nothing like it also bring cash if you want the ok pizza cards not accepted. We had a party of 12 and it was our first time going there right when we walk in and my wife asked a question about the website and the small little guy with glasses was so nasty in his response that we were shocked. The other guy was so sarcastic and rude. The service was so unbelievably horrible that it truly made my wife upset on her birthday. This was the place she was looking forward to the most and it truly was disappointing . We would never go back again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

OK, grant it, this was the last winery on our stop and our group had a bit too much alcohol in them already - especially for a group of low tolerance asians... but service was not so hot and it was a very small place. mediocre wines this year, sub par vibes, and im not going to hold back...paying for tastings when you are buying bottles is BUSH league. My wife and I are wine collectors with pretty decent pallets, koehler 3 years ago made pretty decent wines for the region ( region is 4 favorite in Cali alone) but they seemed to be to busy worrying about the bottom line instead of making good wine...try laying back on the corporate approach that seems to dictate all the tasting rooms in that area, make some good wine, and dont charge a cover for testing the waters, it will give you a better rep read more

Service was pretty awful (none of the servers seemed at all interested in telling us about the wines, and were often difficult to even get to serve us), the pours were short, and the wine was, honestly, not all that interesting. After reading some reviews about Koehler Winery - we decided to stop by and try their wines. The parking lot was packed so we figured it must be great. Turned out they were having a wine club members' BBQ. We found space at the counter and tried the Chardonnay first - my DH and I were pleasantly surprised that we liked it so much since we prefer Cabs. Tried the rest of the tasting list (and a couple others they were pouring for others) and liked 3 different wines so much that we joined their wine club and walked out with 4 bottles. Went back the next day to trip the 2nd tasting list and bought a couple more bottles. The grounds looked nice (in the rain) and there were lots of picnic tables around where you could sit and enjoy the view and animals. I have never seen an Emu before. Pretty cool that they have one here. Their wines were delicious but expensive. Nice to taste.

We recently attended Koehler winery as a large group of 12 people. "Brad The Wine Guy" took great care of us! He was so friendly and unstuffy and took great care to tell us interesting things about each wine. We sat outside in their beautiful yard and picnic'd while Brad refilled our tastings and made us smile. Great wine! Definitely would recommend for large groups. read more

Fantastic cabs and a lovely setting make this one of my all-time favorites in the Santa Ynez Valley. In good weather, you can enjoy your tasting at the outdoor bar overlooking the vineyards and the Santa Barbara mountains beyond. Although there were no amazing deals this time (unlike a few years ago when I scored a case of super-delicious 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon for $9 a bottle), we quaffed a lot of good reds and carted off a number of great bottles. I discovered Koehler in the summer of 2009. My fiance and I were driving past it on our way to our next stop on my pre-plotted birthday trip and he said to me, "I really want to stop here." We were on a different trail than our previous trips to this area, and neither of us could really say what it was that made us stop, but we were SO glad we did! Our pourer was a really nice lady (I'm so sorry that I don't remember her name) and took very good care of us. We liked the wines so much that we joined the Reserve club. Since the Summer of 2008, we have joined (and cancelled) 4 other wine clubs - but we are still members of Koehler's... Why, you ask? Two words: Dan Zurliene (the Wine Club Manager). Every time I have a problem (which is usually on my end - ex: I have to drop my shipment from a double to a single because I lost my job; I moved from California to Kentucky and KY has weird alcohol laws - can you deliver there?; well... you get the gist...), I e-mail Dan and he is ON IT! I recently thought I'd been sent a duplicate wine (which had NEVER happened before) and finally got around to e-mailing him late on a Saturday night. I didn't expect an answer before Monday afternoon. He sent his reply at 1:00 PM Sunday (which was probably 10 AM, his time)! His closing sentence, (sorry, Dan - I'm going to quote you) "It is your call as I am here to make you happy!!!!"" That's right, folks - those exclamation points are copied and pasted from my e-mail from Dan, without exaggeration. I have never met the man, but he is THE BEST when it comes to customer service. Thank you Dan!!!!! I look forward to many more happy years with Koehler, even though I'm far away... read more

They have two different flights here, one you keep the glass, the other you don't, which I do not understand. We had the second flight with the two different pinot noirs, which were pretty good. The service was ok. Not the friendliest. read more

I didn't really enjoy the wines here, but I'm not that knowledgeable about wine so that's not really what my rating is based on. The grounds were really pretty and it would be a great place to bring a picnic lunch and have some wine and snacks. This place loses some stars because the tasting room pourers didn't really explain their wine to us. They just poured it and said what style it was and then walked away. They were mostly friendly, so I guess it's possible that they just assumed we didn't want to know about the wines we were drinking. Another complaint was that the sign was really hard to see. You had to really be looking for it or you would miss it and drive right by. I wouldn't go here again, but it was a good place to try once. read more

Beautiful sitting area great for lunch. Emu on site are fun to see. Tasting room was spacious not crowded, we had a your there at same time and did not feel crowded or rushed. This was a nice small gem in our guided wine tour. Dan was friendly and knowledgeable in a carefree personality. We enjoyed our tour lunch on their grounds that back up to the ostrich property. Love the vibe, love the wine, and of course I love their winery cats. I have a special place in my heart for wineries that grow everything on site. This seems to be rare. The central coast wines have a unique flavor, and I really appreciate all the wines from here. Their Riesling is amazing; maybe the best, but you can drive a few up the road to Rancho Sisquac to compare for yourself. If you can't find a wine you like here, the Central Coast is not your place - head to Napa. I feel they truly embody the flavor and environment of everything a CC winery should be. read more
