I had kogi taco truck for an event. I was impressed with how fast they were able to get through the entire line and think it is a good idea for events! I love the idea of the Korean-Mexican fusion because it's like the best of both worlds. The food was delicious. My only gripe was that my pork belly and short ribs were slightly dry. Nonetheless, all 3 tacos were flavorful. My favorite of the 3 was the chicken taco. I loved the veggie toppings that came with it! When I heard that we were going to have a kogi truck at our event, I was excited to try something new. Alas, they only had 2 choices: meat tacos or tofu tacos. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. Our company had a Lunar New Year event and asked Kogi to be a part of it. We needed options for our vegetarian and vegan employees and they easily made that happen. Obviously Kogi is well knowing in LA but a lot of our employees had never had their food before, which made them being a part of our event even more special. When planning the event their team was so great and gave us some really great menu options to choose from. We ended up going with the 3-taco plate that was topped for a vegetable slaw. Our menu was a choice of a short rib taco, chicken taco, pork taco and tofu taco. For our vegetarian and vegan employees I can report that the tofu taco was absolute fire. The Kogi employees were so nice and really professional. We appreciate them so much for all the did to be a part of this special event for our company. One more big shout out, the Catering Manager Elisa Gonzalez was amazing to work with. She was so fast getting back to me when I initially reached out to her and the communication we received from her leading up to our event was so great. I knew that if i had any questions that I could reach out to her but honestly, everything was so easy that I never had one. Ok, I had high hopes for Kogi but I was disappointed. Staff is great and they work as fast as they can. My disappointment comes from the food itself. I ordered the spicy pork taco, the short rib taco (of course), and the blue moon mulita. Hated the tacos, especially the short rib taco. The meat has very little flavor, and the toppings add nothing. The blue moon mulita was MUCH better in my opinion. The purple sauce they out on top is super unique and adds a cool tangy flavor to the chicken and cheese. read more

Pricey but omg so good. That green sauce, idk what they put in it but citrus and tangy but so savory. Ton of meat and the quesadilla is one fill of flavor definitely would 10/10 try again. How these guys, and cater I work event. We had a limited menu but got to try a little bit of everything. I tried the beef short rib taco, the slider, and the kimchi quesadilla. At first I was really looking forward to the kimchi quesadilla, and not really looking forward to the short rib taco because of the weird green coleslaw that they put on top that smells like sesame seed oil. And then after trying all three I completely change my mind. It turns out that the short rib taco was pretty good and even though it smelled like sesame seed oil it didn't taste like it. I don't think the quality of the meet is very good for the marinade of the meet was very good but the combine flavor and texture was on point. What it was like it was that really good roasted chipotle spicy salsa that I get at my favorite taco truck. The kimchi quesadilla was absolutely horrible. I've come to the conclusion that kimchi should never be cooked. And it should never be combined with anything that has cheese in it. I'll top of that they put the sauce on it that looks like a pretty good gokujing sauce but is it more like salty MSG. And then finally there's the slider. Which is the same ingredients as the taco but wrapped in a really dance later but instead of taco shell. Which if it's supposed to be Korean I would expect it a Hawaiian roll and not a dense Bun that is more fitting for a pulled pork slider that it is short ribs slider. Hey it is pretty good! Got the Pacman Burger (mix of 3 meats, cabbage and salsa), $8. You may think it won't fill you up, but they put a lot of meat in it. Pretty tasty. Luisana made the whole process very easy -- drafting an easy-to-read contract, answering all of my questions promptly, and extending our service by an hour to accommodate the event's itinerary. Luisana even built a custom menu to best match our guests' needs. Oh, and it goes without saying that the food was excellent. Being from Los Angeles originally, my husband and I are big fans of Kogi BBQ, so it was a no brainer to have them cater our wedding in Los Angeles. Everyone absolutely LOVED the food as much as we do and for us, it felt so awesome and personal to have Kogi at our wedding because the food really represented who we both are culturally, especially our ties to L.A. Working with Luisiana was great. She was so accommodating and answered all of our nagging questions throughout our planning process! It really made a difference for us to feel like we could be total newbies to the wedding planning process but feel like we could ask her all of our questions. Kogi is a very flexible catering service in that you can work with them in a variety of locations. Our wedding was at SmogShoppe so we couldn't actually have the truck inside the event but Kogi suggested a few different ways we could serve our guests and it worked out great. Keep in mind that Kogi BBQ catering only provides food and runners specifically so if you are looking for a full catering staff of bussers, bartenders, beverage service, dinnerware rentals, etc you will have to contract an additional vendor but we found that to be quite useful as it allowed us the flexibility of staying within our budget since the cost/quality value of using Kogi is exceptional. I highly recommend using Kogi to cater your wedding if you are looking for a delicious, high-quality and unique food experience for your event. Thank you Kogi! Fantastic food.... nice crew working the truck.... no clean-up for us. One of our friends said that Kogi "ruined me for all other tacos," someone else called it "genius," and there were a countless number of folks who called the food "amazing." I have traveled to different countries and have tried a lot different street food (including insects/bugs). So far, the Kogi Truck is the only one that I can't finish at least one of their tacos. I am not like everyone else who likes to follow a chain, instead I say things how they are. Korean food is amazing and I simply love it. Spanish food is also amazing. But to be honest, the food they served is not quite right. They are only famous because of tweeter and facebook, as for flavor, let's just say, I haven't given up yet. ANYWAYYYYY so I actually had the pleasure of actually waiting in line for about 45 minutes at a Kogi truck back when they just started getting popular. I hit up some truck in 626, and got myself some tacos and a burrito. Thought it was good but never went back. Fast forward 10 years later. Or.. I dunno how long to be exact but it was a long time ago so let's say 10. My work ordered the truck for a day for some company thing, and we had pretty much unlimited amounts of food for like 3 hours. The menu was a little more limited, but we could order as much as we wanted, which was awesome. I had 3 tacos - chicken, beef, and pork. All were good, not bad. Also tried the sliders... yum. About the same league as those tacos. But the QUESADILLA! This shit is fire. And by that I mean delicious but also quite spicy. I think that's why I like it a lot, cos it has that HEAT but also really flavorful from that kimchi and cheese. It's actually a really good combo, and they also add this spicy sauce I think. YUM. Kogi is definitely one of my all time favorite LA trucks. My favorite are the tofu tacos, but I also get the Blackjack quesadilla sans the meat, add kimchi. The green sauce is to die for on the blackjack and the tacos pack a lot of punch both flavor wise, and for the value. I will never forget one of the specials they ran, one I actually got to eat because it was vegetarian. It was a grilled cheese sandwich, with satay peanut butter, bananas, and chili paste! OMG. had kogi for the first time today in san gabriel. ordered the short rib tacos and the sweet chili chicken quesadilla. both tasted ok and they were a good size, but the meat quality of both items were of poorer quality. a lot of gristle and fat in my tacos, and the leaner pieces were tough and dry. the quesadilla was better, but the chicken quality wasn't that great either. the sauce is bomb tho. not sure if it's a cost thing, but meat quality matters. 2.5 stars, but I'll give them 3 stars instead of 2 stars. read more

Thank you Kogi BBQ truck for making our fabulous wedding at Montrose Bowling Alley perfect!!!! Our guests can't stop telling us how much they enjoyed the tacos!! The truck was parked right outside the bowling alley and our guests loved hanging out by the truck and then bringing their food back into the bowing alley to eat or stayed out on the street where they could enjoy the tree lined twinkle lit street. I appreciated the prompt reply of my inquiry,to speaking to the catering manager Youngho & faxing the contracts to finally locking the deal. They made it so convenient for me. 4.25 stars. We had Kogi cater our wedding's cocktail hour. The event went great - the food came out as delicious as always, and my concern that the line would get ridiculously long was unfounded. We restricted the menu to a single plate - one short rib taco, one chicken taco - and a vegetarian option, but... having waited in a Kogi line... I was a bit skeptical that they could keep up. I never actually saw the line, but guests reported that the wait was pretty short. One half-star off for being sticklers about their "no chafing dishes or butler-served" policy. Our guests had to take a couple steps from the cocktail venue to the curb, where the truck was. I understand and appreciate the quality control, but I would have preferred to keep the guests inside the venue. One quarter-star off for the communication being a bit lacking. Circling back in the days before the event, to confirm that everything was on-plan, would have been appreciated. Not a huge fan of communication dropping off completely. Anyway... People who've eaten at the truck were excited, people from San Diego who'd heard of it but never tried it loved it, and guests from Japan enjoyed it very much.
