If you didn't get much help- the staff is tied up in bigger jobs- contractors with 2-3 bathrooms and a kitchen for several jobs times 2-3. Dealing with a small order does not command their time -probably working on commission. Customer should not be made to feel ignored in any case- but that is probably why it's happening. read more

To be sure, this review is about the Kohler showroom on W. 22nd St. in Manhattan. I have visited this showroom a few times over the last three or four years, and each time I feel very disappointed. The showroom is beautiful physically. However, it is almost the only thing great about this place. A few staff members that I had interacted over the years were all rather short on courtesy and not particularly friendly. Today, I came here because I had a couple of questions about a specific robern medicine cabinet. I knew what was to be expected. Still, I left this business feeling sad and disappointed. Again. It's the kind of disappointment that would make me not want to purchase anything from them. Thank God, my contractor is going to do the purchasing of the cabinets for me, and I don't know where they are going to make that purchase. But, who cares!? At least, I don't need to deal with this business directly. After finding and looking at the medicine cabinets in the showroom, I had a couple of questions. Doubling back to the front desk, I politely asked a couple of questions to a man who was typing something. When I stood in front of him, obviously seeking his attention, he never looked up. I had to proceed with my question, hoping to get his attention. That thankfully worked, and he did look at me. Very briefly, and still typing something. I felt almost "sorry " for disturbing him. The rest of my short visit never improved. Overall impression that I have for this business unfortunately has not changed. I think this beautiful showroom loses its true value unless people working here also provide courteous service by treating (at least prospective) customers with more respect. No, no need to kowow to us. I just want common courtesy, like saying hello. Maybe some smile wouldn't hurt. read more

Be careful of what you order. I bought all my bathroom plumbing parts from this store, was told everything except one item was in stock, and said item would need to be researched and pulled from another store which would cost extra. I said ok because I needed the products. Well the researched product came in 2 days. But another item (which I was told was in stock) was put on back order. on 1/24 I was told it would ship on 2/17, today I find out it won't ship until 3/30. Honesty and transparency are not this stores strong suit. Could have made adjustments if they had be truthful about lead times. Also a lot of item's are less expensive on Home Depot's page...even with my contractor's "discount." (same model number and everything). read more

I worked with Jico at the Kohler store, who spent a lot of time explaining all the different options and parts. He communicated promptly and well and I couldn't have made all my bathroom faucet, fixture, and tub choices without his help. I appreciated getting to see the shower in action in their showroom to get a sense of the water pressure. I went with the Purist line in brushed brass and the Underscore soaking tub, which fit the tight 60 x 30 space but gives me a few extra inches of depth over my last tub. Horrible experience! My wife and I went to the Kohler experience center today and were really disappointed. How does Kohler allow this bunch of unprofessional individuals represent their brand? We are renovating our Manhattan apartment and went shopping for bathroom products. We arrived at the store on Friday at 6pm and were assigned one of the design consultants named Jico to make an order (medicine cabinets, toilets etc). We knew what we wanted but it was helpful to visualize. Jico was not particularly friendly from the start, and struggled to crack a smile! But we went through the order and added all the parts we needed in the system. At 6h45pm (they close at 7pm), as we were finalizing the order, Jico decided it was getting late and told us that we can take care of this tomorrow or Monday. We insisted briefly that we wanted to get this done today but we were ignored. The employees don't seem to work for Kohler, but are actually employed by a company called "best plumbing supply" (What an original name! ). They most likely get very good prices from Kohler who trusts them to represent their brand considering they exclusively sell Kohler, but they don't seem interested in selling anything! We took our business somewhere else. read more

This company will sell you everything you want but wAit til you need them to get behind you ._ After spending $20,000 maybe $30,000 they don't take back damaged products- They give you phone numbers to people who do nothing except not believe you it's not working , and are NOT willing to replace broken purchases . A brand new toilet I spent thousands having Installed and repaired to no avail and they will not replace .KOHLER is very unpleasant to get help from and I-recommend you buy from someone willing to service . UPDATE : they offered to send me a new toilet , even though the one I have is brand new broken ,but won't send a plumber and want me to pay the $1000 to change it. read more

This was the year we broke down and renovated bathrooms circa 1983. Having been through a really unpleasant experience renovating two bathrooms in the past, we braced ourselves, doing a lot of research on service providers and products as not to repeat the past. Worked with both a bathroom reno contractor who exclusively uses Kohler and Jico at Kohler's NYC location. Very pleased with the Kohler experience and their products. Ordering online is very efficient and at the Kohler NYC store, the products are beautifully displayed and the staff friendly and helpful. I worked with Jico at the NYC to select a vanity and accessories. He is a terrific sales consultant--patient with someone very undecided on what she wanted, advised products based on budget and listening to what look I was going for and responsive to follow up e-mails and phone calls. I went to the 23rd showroom to get inspiration for a really huge project in heart of L.A. Before doing so I had called in a while earlier and over the phone was the worst. The person who introduced herself as Lorel had an attitude and didn't seem to want to answer any questions. Now while I'm in the showroom with my wife and daughters observing the different finishes I overhear a worker mention to another about the way my family is dress. Im pretty sure it was the manager herself with one of the salesmen. I genuinely wouldn't make the time and effort visiting this location ever again. read more

Couldn't rate my experience at Kohler Experience Center worse. I went last Friday and spent nearly 2 hours with Jico, the surly sales associate who was clearly uninterested in helping me out. I had to ask every possible question - nothing was actively shown to me. (The woman at the front desk on the other hand was immensely cheerful and more helpful in the 5 minutes I spent with her than the 2 hours with Jico). I thought maybe he was having a bad day so let it go, and selected ~$15,000 worth of fittings (for 4 bathrooms, a kitchen and a wet bar) to price and draw up into a proposal I could give my contractor. Jico reluctantly scribbled the details down on paper and said he would email me the proposal. After hearing nothing for almost a week I called to ask where the information was. Jico's rudeness continued - he admitted he'd lost the paper with my contact information - but never apologized. When I pushed he further admitted to losing all the choices I had selected but said he could "probably remember it." I have zero confidence I will hear anything from him and am excited to take my money elsewhere. I can't speak for all sales associates at KEC, but if you are assigned Jico, ask for someone else. read more

Great showroom......however, I feel ..... depending on how you are dressed and who you are; you may have a different "Kohler Experience" on the weekends. Last sunday, August 6th, my husband and me decided to stop by for a visit. He had not seen this showroom; and they happened to be open on a summer sunday. We were excited! We are a Black Gay couple...we were casually dressed, as most people would be on a summer Sunday afternoon. We were greeted in a timely manner, however, we were also grilled......or what felt more like an interrogation upon entry. We are both in the Design Industry, and frequent showrooms often for work and for fun. So we were taken aback by our reception. The tall young lady at the front desk was very cool and somewhat intimidating, unlike the other shorter young lady who was pleasant and had great energy. It was the end of their day; and it was not busy...... As a previous visitor with my client, my "Kohler Experience" with my salesperson, who was not there on Sunday, was completely different. We had a blast! My husband heard so many great things about this showroom from me; we anticipated a completely different Kohler "Experience"........ We also came to see the showroom, scout out ideas for a few new projects around our home and for clients, as well as picking up samples that were ordered for my office. Totally a happenstance visit, unfortunately has left a bad impression. When I asked this associate, who will remain nameless, about the samples; I was questioned aggressively, and curtly from this young lady. I felt like I was being treated like a messenger and not an Architect with a client doing 3 baths, a mudroom, and a kitchen in a $3 million dollar townhouse with tiles and fixtures possibly from KEP. We do many High-end homes in the city. My office typically use Waterworks, Ann Sacks, Lefroy Brooks, Sherle Wagner, Nanz, etc. We love the new Kohler aesthetic, and are willing to specify it. Service is key in relationship building in this industry. It is a given, in most showrooms to work as a team, when your rep is not in, that you are serviced. I am very busy in the office, and this was my first opportunity to come by to pick up the samples, so I didn't have an appointment. Nevertheless, it should not have mattered. We did not discuss this treatment until later in the evening about this Kohler Experience, which still is gnawing at me. Some things can be dismissed, such as a Millennial having a bad day on a sunny summer Sunday. This was not the case...... when another couple (who apparently, in her opinion deemed worthy of her time) entered, they were warmly greeted, given a tour and left with a beautiful KEC shopping tote, I knew that there was a distinct differentiation. We left with no literature, nor was offered ...... I also didn't take the samples, which were to heavy to carry. The point is, I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt...... Maybe, because I am someone else's client and not a direct lead for her, could be the cause of this behavior.....who knows..... Regardless, I felt the need to share this "Kohler Experience" Essentially, I will continue to use KEC as a resource; but I would only work with my Sales Consultant by appointment. I hope that none else is treated this way at this beautiful Showroom. read more

This was the first time we visited this particular showroom, before we came here especially due to all of the covid changes we looked up the location online and saw that walk-ins were welcome as it's stated on Google under their website. ( I make sure to check these days before going somewhere new) When we came to the door they were all locked and a woman came over and asked us if we had an appointment. We did not have an appointment so she explained that we will only be able to look around for 15 minutes because other people have appointments ( as if this was a favor). Okay, fine we were asked to sit and wait for a sales associate to come over to help us. This took maybe seven minutes, but I would like to note that the store was completely free of customers. A sales representative named Joseph came over and asked us what we are generally looking for after we answered all of his questions he quickly walked us around and it felt as though we didn't have an opportunity to really take in what we were looking for and see our options. The sales representative did not share any significant options with us or any useful information on how we should proceed with our renovation. He simply advised that we shop online for anything we like and that he might be able to get us the item we choose should we bring it to him. I also specifically asked for certain information regarding a few items I selected to be emailed to me (pricing dimensions and Color options). Two Business days later I have still yet to hear back from him - even though he took down all of my information. He also did not allow us to go to part of the showroom that was totally empty because of apparent covid restrictions ( this is just at the other end of the showroom and it is completely open) which in all honesty seemed like in an illegitimate excuse to not continue walking us around. I own many Kohler products in my current residence and have always had positive experiences dealing with the brand but I have to say this particular experience was very subpar. The funny thing is that we took about exactly 15 minutes walking around and absolutely no one was waiting to get in for their "appointment". It seems like this location is not interested in making sales. And we basically left with no information on how to proceed besides " check out what's online". Not sure I have to travel all the way to this showroom "experience" to get that little piece of advice! Three stars for all the beautiful items - zero stars for customer service. read more

I walked into the store shortly after it opened on Sunday and was immediately greeted and assisted by Joseph. I was there to purchase a sink and some shower accessories and he was extremely helpful throughout the process. He helped me pick a finish that would best compliment the tile sample I had brought in and he asked me questions while we looked at shower fixtures to help guide me toward which ones would best suit my needs. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and made helpful suggestions but I never felt pressured to purchase more than what I had intended to. Soon after I made my purchases, I received an email from him with a spec book, proposal, and some follow up info about the lead time for the sink I had ordered. This showroom is by far the most current and we loved all the different "experience" areas. Caroline Hughes and her team are incredible!! She knows every detail of Kohler and really helped us enhance our bathrooms and kitchen with Kohler products. She is detail oriented (which we love) and patient with changes. She made an overwhelming process fun and actually exciting. We could visualize each room with the customized spec-books she made for us and product list that was also done room by room. Instead of scattered SKU #'s that mean nothing to us. We highly recommend this showroom for anyone remodeling or doing new construction. This is a brand new (maybe 3 week old) HUGE showroom for Kohler products. Faucets, sinks, toilets, fixtures. It extends all the way from 22nd Street through to 21st Street. There are even places where one can try out fixtures, e.g., turning on water in a shower etc. to see how a showerhead works. Very helpful staff too. Wheelchair accessible -- with a wheelchair accessible bathroom equipped, of course, with Kohler products. read more

She always helps me with product knowledge and availability. If I've ever had an issue with a product they've gone above and beyond to sort it out with me. I don't usually write reviews but this one is so well deserved. I came in saturday after purchasing my Kohler shower body on amazon. Something just wasn't right. They were very busy at 1:30 in the afternoon but It was worth the wait. I was helped by Ana who actually had her coat on and was going to lunch. I honestly stopped her just hoping she would lead me to the right person but in 5 minutes she explained to me where I had gone wrong in my purchase online and offered a solution. What's even more surprising is she told me they were an actual store. She could've stopped and told me to go where I bought it but she gave me real help. This is a beautiful showroom that really gives you the opportunity to explore the fixtures (including running showers) the finishes, and different design lines. Vlad Bernard was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and patient as I thought through every possibility even though it was my first visit and I was clear that I was just looking and wouldn't buy without talking to my husband first. We had a decent experience while in the store but once we were charged we had issues (1) with the store scheduling deliveries but not keeping to promised timelines which delayed our renovation and (2) trying to resolve an issue once our items were delivered. When we didn't get any traction with the store, we followed up with Kohler headquarters and were told "While the store you contacted is called 'The Kohler Experience' it is affiliated with Kohler company, not owned by it." We've shared our experience with another bath/kitchen showroom that stocks Kohler products, they were surprised to hear both the Kohler showroom and Kohler headquarters had such poor customer support. read more
