Well this store is like a roller coaster there are times where it looks like a disorganized mess and there are no employees. Then there are times where things are on point. What an awesome online experience. I placed an order 2 days ago for a mixer I needed. There pick up process was so easy and fast. I got a slot number emailed to me once i was there I walked over to the area for pick up. I found the number given to me and there was my bag ready for pick up. The pricing system is not functioning correctly. I go in Kohls to return Amazon items. I'm assuming they do this to get customers, because of their coupons they give out with the return receipt. I noticed there were no prices on the kids shoes, and there were no associates in site to get a price. There's no price scanners or anything. So I grabbed 4 pairs of shoes for my daughter and took it to the register. Come to find out, there's about 15 people waiting in line and only 3 associates in the registers. Eventually, I got frustrated and left the 4 pair of shoes by the waiting asles, and walked out. Speaking to my family about this ordeal, I found out they've done this before as well. Haven't shopped here in a while and when I do, it is mostly for jewelry or clothes for my son. Ended up getting some Kohls Cash during my holiday shopping adventures and during their after Christmas sale, made some small appliance shopping online but needed to pickup since I did not make the threshold for free shipping and didn't want to pay for shipping. In any event, there is no more curbside pickup, instead they have a u-shaped shelved units that are numbered and your items are inside the containers. You do need to enter a specific number after clicking in your email. So many easy then waiting in line, which at first glance had 4 people before us, luckily it was the Amazon returns line. Which I've been here a few times for Amazon returns, and now they have a separate area, as you use to go to customer service. Amazon returns is still located in the back, luckily and the store has signs easily notable to find your specific locations. Very easy to find. We browsed the store since we were already there, and saw many clearance items and sections. This store boost a Sephora section (which for the most part is not discounted by coupons or kohls cash), and the remainder of the store is super clean and stalked compared to the other Chula Vista location. We are fortunate to have 2 of the remaining Kohls locations in Chula. Staff was super friendly and attentive, especially upon trying to find the link I needed in the email, staff came and scanned immediately... (FYI- my email stated curbside). Have always had good experiences at this location, as I've only been here a handful of times. Will definitely keep shopping at this location, when it permits. read more

I was the only person in line. Lady at the register ahead of me (had been in line far before I even got there) was trying to return items with no tags and apparently no receipt. The young girl was mentioning she couldn't pull up the transaction for her items she was trying to return. The cashier was the ONLY one in the store who acknowledged my existence. "I'll be with you in a second!" She said. I thanked her and waited. No worries. 5 minutes pass, another lady lines up behind me. Still no help at the front. "We have another cashier coming right now" the cashier says. We both thank her and keep waiting while a 3rd lady joins the line. Still no help after another 5 minutes. What set me off is that there are workers just folding clothes around and clearly can see the cashier needs help, but they act like NPS's in a video game that can only do one assigned task (folding clothes) I asked a worker near the front folding clothes if there was any other cashiers to which she responded "no we don't have one right now." as she looked down to continue folding clothes like a robot. worked retail for years and I know how it sucks to be short staffed and not have coverage. but that's unacceptable to be so unorganized (and ALSO have terrible customer service) that your customers can't even purchase. This is a nice place to shop. We come here about 6-10 times a year. I like their promotions and free cash offers. The store itself is always stocked and has a lot of stuff for both me and my wife. Between clothes and shoes, they got us covered. I like the mens business clothes section. They have a great selection and the dressing room is right there. I also like the huge selection of ties they have. I like that they constantly have things on clearance as well. Plenty of parking and I like the early hours especially during the Xmas season. They do have a small electronics section near the back near the toy department. The only downside is the pricing structure they have. Their MSRP is extremely high. Once you buy something on sale with the 20 or 30 percent off coupons, it ends up being a good deal. Their customer service and employees are very friendly. I came into Kohls to return an Amazon package for a refund. It's been a while since I been at this location and am so amazed by all the upgrades. The Amazon pickup/ returns is located at the back of the store with clear signs and employees available for guidance. The transition was smooth and easy they even give you a coupon. I love that Sephora is now located in Kohls so convenient to shop for makeup products or beauty. I also found many great affordable specials for kids clothing. So happy to have found an Easter outfit for my kids spring photos at an affordable price. The team here is amazing I love kohls charity support and donations to great causes. Overall a positive experience highly recommend a visit. read more

There was only one person in front of me in line. It took this woman 20 minutes to ring up 5 pairs of clothing from the women in front of me. Just to find out returns are in the back of the store. I then waited in a single person line that also took an additional 20 minutes. They are VERY VERY SLOW. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! This is the very reason why people don't come to stores anymore. My partner and I went shopped here tonight and whoever was working as loss prevention between 6:00 and 7:30 made me feel extremely uncomfortable and I believe they should be retrained in their position. The loss prevention employee heavily targeted us and was not discrete about it in the slightest. He continually followed and circled us as we shopped. When we went to the fitting rooms, he made a big scene about my boyfriend standing in the "women's" fitting room hallway (as I was asking his opinion on outfits) despite there being absolutely no gender specific sign indicating that it was only for women. This fact was pointed out by ourselves and other shoppers during this encounter. And rather than directly asking my boyfriend to leave, he loudly spoke over his walki talki from outside the fitting room about how a man with his description was just standing in the women's fitting room refusing to leave - and it was only then that we realized he was talking about us. After this incident he continued to tail us (and my boyfriend even all the way into the "men's" fitting room) until we finally checked out and left the store. I understand that some of his actions are simply the nature of his job, however as a customer I should never feel so aggressively targeted, followed, and repeatedly harassed by any employee as I did today. I have never had this kind of experience in a store before and so I'd argue that this employee is severely lacking in the appropriate training for his loss prevention position. I will not be shopping at this store again and I do not recommend anyone else does either. read more

I never see anything nice there and so far in my experience customer service is not good at all. There's always a lot of employees running around but no one's ever asked me if I need help. They have a good discount system but the prices are kind of high before discounts. Amazon returns are good though. That's why I usually go there. Then I look around for other things but never seem to find anything. I think I found something to buy once or twice and the line to check out was really long and slow. I always think I'm going to find something nice because the store is so big and looks nice inside but I never do. read more

I don't usually review corporate stores but today I received excellent service at the Kohl's on Telegraph Canyon Rd in Chula Vista. I went in to start Christmas shopping and to take advantage of several discount coupons I had. The merchandise was typical Kohl's quality. I guess you would say mid priced. What was exceptional was my service at checkout. The line was atypically long for pre Christmas. The store manager, Suzanne, was up front expediting the lines. Many of the cashiers were trainees but the line went smoothly. Suzanne was going around making sure every cashier was working efficiently and politely. She even re-wrapped some Christmas dishes gently training as she worked. Sadly it is rare to see such great training and service in retail today. read more

In June I bought 2 pairs of active wear shorts-online. Here we are , now, in august. My shorts don't fit and I had to return them. I was apprehensive because 1. I didn't have the tags attached & 2. I made the purchase online, I didn't know if they would accept a return in person for something that was bought online. I went to the kohl's over in Chula Vista South , and at first the lady helping me asked for tags. I thought she was going to reject my return but she didnt. She copied the sku # from my phone and processed the return. And then , her lovely manager Deeana assisted us in getting a receipt. She even gave me a $10 kohl's cash for waiting . I hardly leave a review or opinion about a store because I worked at Ross many years ago and I know how hard is to work in retail, but this time I really want to complaint about the store manager Diana Luna, she was really rude and racist. I went to the store last Thursday and I saw 3 dresses I liked, they had a price discount but my toddler was giving me a hard time and I just left and came back next day on my lunch time. I was checking the price on another items and I noticed they were not on sale anymore so I asked an employee ( i didnt know it was the store manager) and she told me they were not on sale if the were not on the clearance area, and she can go with me to show me. She was really sarcastic like she wanted it to help but she make me feel I was making it up just to get a discount. I told her I was on my lunch break and I was gonna try something on,and didnt have time ,after I came out the elevator she was waiting for me and insisting to take me where the dresses were so I got upset cause I did tell her i was in a hurry . So I repeat my self and let her know to leave me alone, i was trying to shop . Then, she follow me and asked me a 3rd time!!! At this point I was like really??!! I dont know what she was trying to prove, she made me feel so upset . Her attitude was just too much and just to find out she was the store manager. It's a department store so I can do a review based on the aesthetics of the place level of service. The service is on par with the rest the other box retail store. The place is clean and the merchandise is easy to see and we'll laid out. I might say that I am pleasantly surprised that they now have an electronic section to keep me occupied when I am shopping with my better half. read more

This is the place I come to buy my nice clothes for a funeral or a wedding, which in reality it's the same thing cuz a wedding is like a funeral (poor bastard that got married). Any ways they have very good selections in slacks, dressy shirts & suits. Like I said when I need nice clothes this is the place for me. They also have a good selection in Levi jeans but there expensive! Tho there jeans are expensive there regular shirt & regular pants are very affordable. And I'm a fan of the Mark Anthony line. The kid section is good as well. The customer service is nice & polite. The store is always clean which is cool. But there sport section is stuck in the 90's. I've seen 'Fila' items! Really? I felt like if I was at a Swapmeet in the hood when I saw that & the Puma section. And the shoe section is not very impressive & it's expensive. The holidays tho the customer service is a bit slow on the register & lines get long. But over all I really like this place & come here for when I want to look like I live in La Jolla or Poway (tho I live In Chula Vista & grew up in NC). You will find "The cops won't pull me over clothes" here. Very good selection of clothes here, enjoy & remember fold your shirts back if your not buying them! We live right next to this Kohl's and have experienced many levels of rudeness on several occasions. There are some staff members who are a hit and miss, but generally it's issues with the cashiers. They don't honor the sales or the price tags on the clothing. My latest adventure there was a week ago when the bra was on sale for $8.80 in the sales rack with the rest of the bras. Well, upon checking out there was issues with the sale and the exact same one was also on sale. The original lady said she would honor the price and the manager was on the cashier next to us and said that was fine. Another lady comes in and starts hovering this cashier and tells us there is no way this bra is $8.80 despite multiple yellow tags on it because nobody had purchased it. We said, well we don't know we found it with this price tag and it should be honored if it's a mistake on your end. This lady was speaking to us as if we replaced the tag ourselves and belittling us as if we are thieves. I pretty much threw them out my items to purchase and at her. She said it's a $40 bra it's not 8.80, wtf??? It's kohl's and they are known for their sales! I'm buying two $54 bras for $15 and she's crying about this $40??? I told her I have no reason to steal when I have money and I'm only here for the deals since I'm pregnant and need temporarily bras until my boobs get larger. I gave her the finger as I walked away. I have never been treated so poorly or as a thief in any establishment and the manager?? She just crawls away in fear of this other lady. How sad. Also, she was removing the tag and having much difficulty since it was never removed or taken off another item. We know people who have worked there over the years and apparently there are always complaints about people being treated like crap. Guess what? Many of them are Hispanic! read more

Every once in awhile, when I come to Kohl's with mom, (because she loves this place) I'll find a thing or two that I actually like. Vera Wang had these cute high heels once, that I just adore, and my mom bought me a diamond ring for Christmas a few years back. Other than that, the girls section seems to be filled with clothes made from scraps. It's all poorly made, and cheap looking, so I rather not spend $30 for something that cost 2 to make. read more

I've been to this location many times over the past eight years. Some of the products seem to be cheaply made especially the jewelry. Kind of reminds me of a Sears store but they try to charge higher prices. There always seems to be a shortage of staff when I need assistance too. Some of the products are good for the most part. I only come here when I am in a hurry and I need to get something that's pretty common. And because they're in close proximity to my home. I've come here many a times only because the place reminds me a lot of MERVYN's (yes...I use to shop there) Once in a blue moon, I'll find something cool to wear. Like yesterday afternoon...I purchased a GOONIES logo t-shirt. Yes...the same classic movie of probably the GREATEST PIRATE MOVIE EVER!!! (Sorry 'Pirates of the Caribbean' fans, but GOONIES is a cult classic and most people remember almost every scene from that movie) One of the biggest problems Kohl's has is this...there are a lot of cash registers on-hand and only one or two are open whenever there is an extremely long line. It reminds me a lot of shopping at a WALMART around 9pm when they only have 3 registers opened and about a million people standing in line. That being said, after waiting in line for well over 25 minutes, I've come to the conclusion that Kohl's doesn't care (at least I had my Smartphone to keep me busy while I waited). The place has the staffing, but I honestly believe they could have opened up another register to make things go faster...just my 2 cents. This Kohls is very clean on the inside and out. I had no trouble looking for what I needed. When I checked out there were about 5 people in front of me. I had no more than a 5 minute wait. Check out was pretty easy. I was able to redeem my coupon, rewards, and Kohls cash. My only issue came when the lady checking me out asked if I was using a Kohls card and I told her no. The coupon I had was 25% off using a Kohls card and 20% using any other payment method. I had told her no I was not using a Kohls card and she didn't want to use the coupon. I had to explain that there was another barcode for 20% off. She then said "oh" and scanned the coupon. It was a decent shopping experience and I was able to find what I needed. This Kohls is in a strip mall with some other stores and there is ample parking. read more

I love this store in general but this location literally has some amazing associates they really take their time to help you they will make sure you leave happy ! I was looking for my favorite cologne Mark Jacobs and they only had one size available in store and it was a small size the lady went or of her way to check online for me and helped me order it to get picked up at store ! When the internet tells me it's cold outside, I do what most Americans do and head down to Kohl's for some sweatshirts. Kohl's is like Mervyn's hotter, sluttier twin sister. Until fairly recently, I used to think Kohl's was a home improvement store. First of all the stores are enormous. It defies reason that a clothing/housewares store needs to be the same size as a Home Depot. And Kohl's just seemed like one of those brawny Midwestern names that evokes thoughts of plumbing fixtures and stacks of lumber. Well it's late May, and of course there are no sweatshirts here, but their giant wall of socks is impressive. I'm hungover and not thinking clearly, so I'm an easy mark for the enormity of their merchandising. And I like the idea that for $9 I can put off laundry for another 3 days. read more
