Shopping in Montebello, Los Angeles, California... Because there's no Kohl's in Hawaii, I usually visit and get a Dodgers shirt (if I'm in the correct area) or a Golden Knights shirt when I'm in Las Vegas, Nevada. This time, I couldn't find any LA Dodgers gear. I did look through the Clearance areas, but it seemed to be winter attire on sale... like sweaters and other long sleeved shirts. I asked a friendly employee and she said that I should go to a different location - like Downey - because this store doesn't have any Dodgers merchandise... awww... ok... The line was long when I arrived, but surprisingly, it moved pretty quickly thanks to a male employee with long hair who was very polite and professional. He did not waste time with small talk with any of the customers and only said, "Hi, is there anything else, and Have a good day". I recently bought some simple and basic women's clothing from Kohl's online. I love shopping at Kohl's! Prices were great. Unfortunately, some of them didn't fit too well. I came to this Kohl's located at Montebello Plaza to see if they have the same color items in stock, but in a larger size. I usually wear women's large and was hoping to get extra large. Upon entry to this store, my first thought was... what a small Kohl's! Yeah, it's quite small compared to other Kohl's I have visited. Aisles are quite tight IMHO. Anyway, I walked up to the counter to inquiry about exchanges. A very hospitable and nice young lady by the name of Monique helped me check if they had the items + sizes in stock at this store. It was a very smart idea. I didn't have to scrounge around to look for them. Thanks so much Miss! Only 4 out of the 8 items were available at this store. A young man who also worked here directed me to the exact location of the clothing. Cool! He saved me even more time. Thank you Sir! I found the items and tried them on. Unfortunately, the new size didn't work out for 3 items. I will keep what I have. Luckily, the most important item worked out... it was a pair of Croft N Barrow printed pants. I went in for an Amazon return today and there was no one at the table. Was left waiting for about 10mins so I asked another employee to request someone at the table. A lady named Georgy returned from the back and then completely ignored me for a good 2 minutes, prepping her area, then I asked if she worked there and I have just been standing here for 10mins. Then she told me I was lying then told me that she didn't have to do the return because she doesn't work for Amazon but she works for Kohls and told me I can go to another Kohls. First time I receive horrible customer service. I had a gift card with 225 balance and the cashier told me it was insufficient for the 3 items I had that were way less than 100$. 01/08/2021 I have never been to this location but I am sure it is during covid-19 is when someone is watching the front door greeting customers. I asked her where to go with my Amazon return. Amazon Returns Dropoff location near the front of the store to the left. Wait your turn 6-feet away until you are called up. Have your QR code ready from your e-mail for them to scan. Hand them the package and receive a receipt for the return plus $5 off on your next purchase inside the store. Restrooms are in the back of the store. This store almost feels like it used to be another retail store. The restrooms are clean like the other store locations. read more

This kohls is terrible. It's tiny, stuffed with crap, unorganized and the employees are rude. It's near my work so I came in to get an outfit for my son and I had to leave because it was so dirty and I felt claustrophobic. If you live near Whittier I highly recommend the whittwood kohls. read more

I come here strictly for their pants because they are comfortable for my age bracket. Have no problem with the store, the prices, or the selection, only the way the cashier made me feel like I was a criminal by checking to see if all my bills were counterfeit and taking forever doing it. I was so embarrassed. My total was about $120, and I didn't want to use my card cause I was trying to see less purchases on my card statement, and was using my emergency cash in the meantime. I wonder if it was because I was wearing black...and didn't have makeup on that made me look shady. I'm old. Thieves are young and fast. Why was I treated like one? The grueling part was when she lifted every 20 to the light, and using the counterfeit marker. I was a cashier back in the day, and I did the marker and checked for the strip on the down low so the customer wouldn't feel targeted or accused. I know its not her fault, but I left feeling terrible. I've never stole anything in my life. I know this is procedure, but it would be nice if she chatted with me to throw off my uncomfortable vibe. read more

Went to this store to do an Amazon return. I also left a plastic delivery envelope in their recycle bin near the entrance when I noticed a few small cockroaches crawling on the box! I made my way to the Amazon return counter and found a few clothing items on sale to try on. As I was trying on one of the shirts, I saw a pretty big sized cockroach crawling along corner of the fitting room! This place must be infested with roaches! I quickly left the location! Even though I usually find a few good deals here, I doubt I will return -- not even to make an Amazon return! Management here needs to seriously fumigate this store to get rid of all the pests! **BE AWARE WHEN BUYING GIFT CARDS AT MONTEBELLO STORE**I purchased 2 gift cards at this store on 12/16/2022. An Amazon gift card and a kohl's gift card. $25 each. The kohl's gift card was for my mom as a Christmas gift. She tried using it at the Whittier location yesterday and was told it showed a $0.00 balance. I was with her and spoke with the manager. I had to call customer service today and explain the situation. Luckily I attached the receipt to the gift card and gave the rep all the info. The rep said the same day I purchased the gift card in Montebello it was used in Redlands California. I don't like to shop at the Kohl's in Montebello but I started to recently because it is convenient for me. I understand that this can happen at any store location But I am so upset. I went in to do an Amazon return today. The line was long wrapped around the corner to the back of the store. I waited patiently for my turn. I gave a female clerk, with tatoos all over her arm, a Khol's bar scanner to scan, like I always do. I didn't do anything differently compare with my previous visits. The scan went through, but she has to insist that I need the square bar code in order to process the scan for the return. She even told me that this Khol bar scan would not work. I insisted that I've been using this Khol bar all the time with no issue. By this time she was not happy that she has to scan the bar code that I gave her, reluctantly. She had such bad attitude and unprofessional customer service. I even thank her afterward, and she didn't even acknowledged my gratitude, so rude. read more

2.5 stars-- This Kohl's is smaller than average as previous reviewers have mentioned... but if you don't like plenty of options or the size of the department store, then I would recommend coming here. For a new store, it has yet to designate space for clearance items, only "sale items" -- aka full priced items that are frequently on sale anyway. (+): -Located inside a shopping plaza -- you can go to Best Buy, Albertsons, Ross, or eat at a buffet all in one place. (-): -Awkwardly placed dressing rooms. From what I saw, there were no stationary dressing rooms, just portable looking ones. The Alhambra store has tiles and this store looks like it was rushed to open quickly because their floors remind of Costco/Home Depot. Tip: I would most likely shop at Alhambra instead of this location just because of the lack of variety. I can imagine disappointed customers if they see an item they saw in an ad that can't be found at this particular store. To any Kohl's corporate management reading this-- maybe consider changing this location to an outlet as they have tried in NJ. It would be hard to compete with Ross nearby and Sears/Montebello mall a few miles away. I am actually quite surprise the San Gabriel location was closed last year and to see this hastily built afterward. read more

I went to this location to pick up a few things for a trip. I asked the associate to look up my kohl's card by using my driver license. My Florida license does not scan right away all the time. The associate asked me if my license was real. Why would I give a fake license? Then she proceeds to ask me about why I haven't gone to the dmv. I got my kohl's card with my Florida ID. I'm very confused about why I was asked a million questions. Also, I verified my address but then she declined the transaction and I had to call over a manager to verify my address for a third time. New and Clean Kohls Store. I got some shoes here for $65. At first I did not buy it but Nike Shoes Dtore had same shoes for $85+ and went back to Kohls. The shoe floor worker was guy was nice. Even after some price confusion. I would like to thank him for his patience. Workers are good too and trying since it is a new store they are getting there. Plenty of parking and opens late on a Friday. They gave me a $10 coupon! All good here. My friend says he always shops at Kohls and now I will. Also people are more willing to write negative reviews since services are good they forget to write good reviews. So here is mine! All the shoppers I see there are in good moods. Store isn't as big as Alhambra so that's a downer. We came in for the soft opening and were surprised how many people showed up. Another thing that I wanted to point out was that once we walked into the store, we weren't greeted with a "hello, wecome to kohl's" with a friendly smile. We were actually greeted with a "do you want to apply for a Kohl's charge (their department store credit card) and save (%) off your purchase today?" One thing about sales is you don't scare away customers by offering them an incentive (in this case, a discount) before greeting them. We haven't even looked at anything, we just walked in and she immediately asked us if we wanted to apply for a credit card. Maybe for the grand opening event they could put an actual greeter in the front rather than an associate trying to rack up her quota for credit card sign ups. read more

This one is tiny. Not a lot of adult women sizes in intimates. A lot of items on the bottom hooks. I'm old, bending down for larger sizes is not my thing. A bit disorganized as well. But overall it was just tiny and felt weird. I say just go to a bigger one if you need to go to this one. read more
