Placed an online order for in-store pick up here and the line was crazy long when I arrived. Turns out, this Kohl's location has returns, online pickups, AND Amazon returns all routing through the Returns area. And despite the insane line, only assigns 1 associate to handle the massive queue. The managers here really need to consider either splitting the Amazon returns into its own dedicated section, or calling backup cashiers when a line starts forming. Waiting 30mins+ just to pickup an online purchase is NOT acceptable. read more

I came into the store specifically for an Amazon return. That all went well. In spite of the Amazon staff not being super friendly. They weren't rude. They just absolutely had no smile in them. But that's OK. I finished my transaction. The Amazon return resulted in a coupon for the store, of course. The thing I don't like about shopping at this store no matter where it's located. It always seems like they have absolutely no staff on the floor to help customers and no staff actively cleaning up the store and returning merchandise to the hangers. I did find a needle in a haystack in the clearance rack for a dress. It was surprisingly $99 original price. It had been tremendously marked down on top of that an additional $10 off for the coupon that I had today. So I left with a nice little black dress for under $25. The dressing rooms are always disheveled in these stores and today was nothing different. I do have to give four stars for the service at the registers. So far, I haven't had a negative experience when I am checking out at these stores. And in fact, the staff is always happy to help me. Find the best coupon on my app or any daily specials that are going on in the store. They often save me more money that I had anticipated and that means sometimes I'll buy an extra item. The reason I gave it 2 stars is because they lacked employees on the floor and employees available to assist you. Check out lines are ridiculously long and there is normally only one employee working the register. You spend about 15-20 minutes waiting in line just to get to the register and battle the constant credit card sales. The employee is extremely pushy even after being told no. They will ask you a minimum of 4 times and will even put in the discount code to show you how much you will be saving. I get that is part of their job. But 4 times is extreme. I find myself shopping at Kohl's every so often, and this location is the closest and easiest for me to stop in. It had been a while since my last visit, (at least 2 or 3 years). So I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they finally added a Sephora to this location! I used to have to drive further away to another Kohl's when I needed an uplifting beauty change to my mundane skin care routines. As expected, the beauty experts on staff offered help and eager to answer questions about the products on display. I had a very nice experience, and felt enthusiastic with the products recommended for my acne prone and aging skin. Honestly, it's frustrating to get a handle on controlling both at the same time! I was happy to see that they carry "The Ordinary" skin care products. One of the few companies that my skin favorably responds to. AND their prices are very affordable! Luxury, high end creams, serums, and cosmetics are also available. It's always fun to wander the department and see what is the latest in anti-aging ingredients. For me, it's often a crap shoot. I may have a reaction to something, an acne flare up, oily skin, dry, flaky skin, or prominent wrinkles. It's hard to be elderly, but still young at heart. But the continued trial and error search at Sephora can still be interesting and fun. I come to this Kohl's often since it is close to my house. I think it's a great place to shop, especially if you sign up for Kohl's rewards (free rewards program, not a credit card). You get points for the purchases you make, and after a certain amount of points you get $10 in Kohl's rewards cash. I usually get the $10 rewards every couple months or so. The items can be pricey here compared to other stores like Walmart or Target, but I constantly get emails from Kohl's with 20%-40% coupons off of my entire purchase, so it brings the price down. Also their clearance items for baby and kids clothes have been great. In addition, their birthday cards seem to be a lower price than other retailers like Target or CVS. I've bought clothing for myself, my husband, and for kids here. I've also bought home goods and gifts for friends. Sometimes the lines at checkout or customer service are a little long, especially during holidays, but all the employees I've interacted with were friendly. Recently there was a toy item that I think had the wrong sticker price on it (it was $20 cheaper than the other same exact toys), but the employee called her manager and they still honored the price for me. I appreciated that. I also love that Kohl's doesn't have a time limit on when you need to return an item by, as long as you have a receipt or the card you paid with. I've also done store pick-ups and Amazon returns here, which all went smoothly. The only reason I'm removing a star is because their shopping carts can't go outside the store (the carts lock up and won't allow you to). It makes it a little challenging if I'm shopping with my toddler and then need to hold her hand while carrying my items to the car. Men's clothing department has all but disappeared, absolutely no selection at all anymore. The worst part is their "rewards" scam. They promote 7.5% on their credit card using at Kohls, 3% here, 2% there. Complete SCAM. I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars over the years and Kohls credit card is now thru Capital One which is great, love cap one. I go onto my Kohls Cap1 card and press rewards and unlike any other Cap1 card it redirects you to Kohls site. I go to the rewards section and it says I have $3.00. You can't even use it until you get to $5 increments. Evidently, where I found no where, until I go to use. It expires every 30 days. You can't use at time of purchase, you have to wait like a week to be able to use and expires on day 30 lol. No heads up, hey you're about to lose your money. No wonder why it offers up to 7.5%. I applied at Kohls for this location. They accepted my application and set up an interview for me today. Nobody showed up. I called the store to tell them nobody showed up and a guy named Travis answered very rudely and said "We're fully staffed, we're not hiring" then hung up. He did not apologize for the inconvenience. I took time out of my day for this interview. I went to call back a minute later to speak with a manager but they did not answer the multiple times I tried to call back. This is my first time going to Kohl's. I only went because I had to return an Amazon product and I seen it was free if you take it to a Kohl's store. There is no need to package or print any labels they take care of everything. Returning my Amazon product was a breeze all I did was give them a QR code and that was it they took the package and apart from that they gave me $10 to shop around and used inside at Kohl's. There's no minimum required to spend so that's pretty cool on their end. I ended up browsing around the store and it was very clean and nice. I ended up getting some sneakers. My partner, daughter, and I came to this Kohls to return an item through Amazon. My daughter is a pandemic baby and we are acclimating her to the world around her so we decided to do some shopping. I saw this adorable summer t shirt that I want to purchase for our upcoming Family trip. Two events made this trip unpleasant. First, there was an employee following us around the child's clothing/toy area. Second, I walked to the cashier ready to purchase my items and the cashier didn't acknowledge us. Just started ringing purchases. Customer service goes a long ways with me, so after no greeting, along with the following around I asked her to cancel the items. This is the newest Kohl's in the Sacramento area. It's the second Kohl's in Elk Grove besides the one in the 95757 zip code. I like this one (95624) better than the older one because this store's layout is much easier to navigate and go from department to department. Also, all the fitting rooms at centrally located in the middle of the store and they're really nicely decorated and new. Not ghetto or messy. This store is bigger than the other Kohl's I have been to and usually it's less messy as well. Overall, I like this Kohl's, sometimes the lines are really really long but I notice it's all in spurts, so when I see the lines are long, I go away for like 5-10 mins and when I come back, everyone's gone. It's really weird how that works, but it works. Most of the employees are helpful and friendly as well. Kohl's is convenient in that they are located in neighborhoods so you don't have to drive all the way to the mall just to buy decent clothes. I think they're one of few retailers doing ok in this economy and they are because they have a good return policy and they run a tight ship in how they run their business. read more

This department store by far has the best coupon deals. They offer numerous of savings for customers that makes the shopping worthwhile. I absolutely love the $10 off any purchase coupon that is frequently mailed to my house! There is no loopholes such as minimum purchases or excluding certain merchandise written in fine print. The coupons are fair and square! Kohl's offers a variety of merchandise from women's clothing, bedding to household appliances. I'm not too fond of the clothing but they have a pretty good selection of shoes to choose from. I would highly recommend coming at the end of each season for bargain price deals! I got a pair of summer sandals for only $6.99! Their clearance prices are ridiculous! They slash prices frequently to get the old stuff out! I did encounter a poor customer service at the Elk Grove Florin & Calvine location. The gentlemen that was ringing me up falsely advertised their credit card benefits to me. He clearly stated that EVERY time I use my credit card, I will receive 20% off. I even questioned him - "Are you sure it's not off my FIRST purchase like most credit cards?!" I fell for the false advertisement and gave in to the "too good to be true" deal. Sure enough when I used my credit card the second time - I was told from the cashier that he lied to me!! Bastards!! Eh, of course I closed my credit card immediately and escalated the issue. But my fault for falling for a scam! Lol! :) Anyhow, I don't think that will stop me from coming back. Sometimes there are cute clothes and sometimes there aren't. It just really depends. What I don't like about this place is that they make it seem as if they're giving you a deal when it's actually the normal price. Deceiving. I know this because I worked at a Mervyn's before. Same kind of store. Same kinds of tricks. The retail price is just inflated to make it seem like you just got an awesome deal. When there are REAL markdowns on products you can actually get certain items for cheap, but it'd be like buying a winter jacket for 1/2 off when it's already the middle of spring. I don't really shop here. The only times I come here is for wedding gifts. I love their sales though! I bought something for less than half of the retail price. Here is what happened on my last visit. There were only two cash registers open and the line was continuously growing. Who was holding up the line? Me. Reason 1: I wanted to use a coupon but could only do so if I have a Kohl's charge card. I succumbed and signed up for it. I didn't want another credit card, but I guess it will come in handy when I shop here again. Reason 2: I asked the cashier if she took the gift I purchased off the registry. She said that I didn't tell her it was on a registry. If she was paying attention, she would have seen the registry list that was sitting on top of the gift. She had a supervisor cancel the transaction and rang it up again to take the item off the registry. Customer service- I did not find the cashier to be friendly but I'm grateful they had someone help me carry my gift to the car because I wouldn't have been able to manage it. read more
