Poor customer service in the online pickup and returns. People shouldn't be allowed to buy a bunch of stuff at Guest Services. They should be in the line up front with all the other purchases. If it was just a few items being purchased then that's fine, but I see a lady buying a bunch of stuff. Like really. Only 2 employees here. While waiting 8 minutes, employees finally started coming out with their scanners to get our stuff in the online pickup. This would have been more efficient if they did this earlier. read more

This store has been my primary outlet for clothing and shoes for work. I've been coming here for almost 4 years and even went as far as to get a Kohls card due to the amount of times I spend money here. This store has been on a steady decline in both customer service as well as in inventory. Every time I come in these days the store is empty, with MAYBE a few cashiers up front. The shoe aisle is always a mess, unorganized, and more times than not, missing a lot of sizes for their featured shoes. Today I went in for a pair of shoes and a belt I needed for work. I walked around the ENTIRE store twice and didn't see a single person working on the sales floor. I eventually just went up to the front to see if someone could help me find a few sizes for these two pairs I found and wanted to buy. I saw what looked like a manager/supervisor helping one of her cashiers with an order and saw that everyone else was busy. Once she was done with helping her cashier, I asked if she could see if they had the shoes in my size. She responded with "oh we have other people to do that", and I told her I had been waiting and searching for someone to come but no one had. She said that the person who was going to help me was on break so she would help me. She walked me over to where I had just looked and gave it a quick scan to see if they had my size. I asked her, "would you have any other shoes in the back?" and she said "yes, but all of our sizes are represented on the shelf". Umm, what? I asked "if the size I want sold out on the shelf, and there ARE some in the back, how would you know you're sold out unless you go back there and check" and she just looked at me and repeated what she said, "all of our sizes are represented on the shelf" and flat out refused to physically go check. It was a passive aggressive way to say "this work is beneath me, I don't have time to do my job". It was transparent and profoundly unprofessional. I then asked her if she could see if other stores had it and if so, if she could have them send a pair to her store. Again, she couldn't be bothered and responded with "You can go on the website and do that yourself, that's not something we do personally". It's really frustrating when an employee at a business you regularly spend money at is disrespectful and unhelpful, but it's unbelievable that someone in management can't be bothered to do even the smallest of services, such as checking back stock. If you're ever at this location and see a blonde, heavy set woman with an ID around her neck, don't bother asking for her help, it'll be a waste of your time and energy. I drove to the Kohls 3 miles away and they had the exact shoe and size that I wanted, and their aisle was actually tidy and organized. I will never again go back to this Kohls, they've lost my business for life. I would rather drive an extra 10 minutes to avoid this stores horrible customer service and their rude, lazy management staff. read more

I was the second person standing in line while 2 cashiers were checking out customers. If you've ever been to Kohl's, you know how busy and disheveled the store can get. I now prefer this location over the one on Bruceville because it wasn't as busy and compacted. I found this store cleaner than most Kohl's I've been to as well. Kohl's can be very overwhelming because there is so much merchandise but I didn't feel claustrophobic walking around here. I actually had a great experience returning clothes at this location too. I expected a line because that usually happens when I make returns at any location. There was only one person at the returns counter and she was working as fast as she could to get through everyone's returns. I was probably the 30th person she's seen that afternoon and she was very pleasant and very friendly. I spent $500 at Kohl's for clothes (Christmas shopping) for my two teens on Dec 20th, but decided to let them pick out their own shoes and returned here on Jan 2nd to buy a pair of Vans for each kid. By Jan 14th my thirteen year old daughter was bringing me her shoes and asking if I could glue them: the entire main part of the shoe (upper) had separated from the sole. I told her to hold off on the glue and I'd call the store. The nice lady that answered the phone said "No problem, we will let you return them if they are defective, even without a receipt". Not only did I have the receipt, but I also had the box and my thirteen year old daughter with me when I returned them. We picked out new shoes and even showed them to the (no joke) helpful young man in the shoe department (I do need to call and let his manager know he's a gem). He said "oh those are defective. Yes you can return them". I guess I forgot about how nice he was when I was treated like a lying, scheming, conniving criminal at the return counter. The chic gave me a look, then exchanged looks with the other girl at the return counter, as if I was scamming them. They both looked at each other as if to say "we don't have a choice". My cashier was told to go ahead and accept the return. Excuse me? I was so embarrassed. Then she let out the most obvious exaggerated sigh and even though she had my receipt in her hand she gave me the inquisition on what date they were purchased. Perhaps they think I like spending my day off at their counter being judged by someone who obviously hates her job. Mgmt, perhaps you should rotate the people that work the return counter for I feel that a few weeks of working the return counter after the Christmas holiday has certainly gotten the best of these two. read more

I have bought normal people clothes there in the past as well. I swear Parking lot is huge so there is always parking. The area is safe at night. I received a Kohl's gift card for xmas and I used it for a nice shirt today. I ask for the cash back from the card as it was under the $10 limit. She told me I would have to go back to customer service to get the money. OK I go back there and there are 8 or 10 people in line when I take my place. There are two clerks working the counter, but the line is moving slow slowly. One of the clerks has been with the same customer for 10+ minutes. The customer is trying to run some kind of return scam it seems like. After almost another 10 minutes I get to the counter, the scammer still is with the other clerk. I ask the clerk for a cash refund and she tells me it has to be for $5 or less. I say no, the law in California is $10 or less. She says she will do it like she is doing me a favor. It takes forever to receive it. She has to go back to the back room 3 times for some reason. Finally I get my $7.65. What a PITA! read more

Well just recently i became a huge fan of this store. The sales at this place are out of this world and unbelievable. I was able to get a 10 dollars discount on a shirt that was for originally 32 on sale for 15 and they gave me a extra 10 percent of because one of the buttons were missing. Ever since i have been back several time and am always pleased with the buys I allays get coupons that you can even use on the 80 percent of sales. The only thing about this whole place is that when i was looking for a worker to help me i did not find anyone and when i did they were not able to help me because they did not know the answer. Came here a week ago for some shoes. Saw a Bella 700 watt microwave on sale for $45. It was on display so it could not be purchased. I was told to come back on Monday for the next shipment because it was displayed over Faberware. I'm here today, July 4th, and there's no new shipment. Kelsey informed me that it had been discontinued and someone should have removed it. With it being above another 700 watt microwave that was also originally $90, I asked if I could get it for the $45 sale price. Seemed logical to me, but she let me know the display was wrong and removed the Bella. Since I don't feel like making a third trip, the good part is that I had at least a 20% off and $10 Khols cash to use before it expires. Only because my Mom wants a microwave did I buy this other microwave. Still, I think that I should have been able to get the Faberware for the comparable price. read more

Amazon drop off has the priority for service and when I got to the customer service counter the agent advised me there is a lane for the on-line pick-up only which is a red carpet on the floor that is barely visible to the customer not to mention there is only one line/lane for all service pick up, return and amazon drop off when I arrived at the store there were 8 people ahead of me. When the agent came back with my order I just told her never mind and cancel it. Now I understand why this store has a one-star rating on line. The store should have a SIGN on EASEL STAND for all on-line order pick up (Not of the floor) visible for the customer to see. This way the customer will know which line/lane to go. read more

Let me start off by by saying that Kohl's is WAY better than Mervyn's used to be. Whenever I would walk into Mervyn's it would look like a hurricane hit it. Clothes everywhere, accessories thrown about, etc. It just didn't look like the employees took care in keeping the store neat. Now that Mervyn's has closed, I would say that Kohl's has taken its place. If I had to describe the look inside, I would say that it's a step up from Mervyn's (in a good way). Everything is easy to find and the clothes are actually folded and placed on the shelves in their correct locations. The clothes that they have here are actually cute, although I don't shop here regularly. My mom often comes here to find some gifts to send to family in the UK. She always finds a bargain either in the clothing or jewelry departments. Both are very reasonable with their prices. Basically, this is a good store for people to come to if they are in need of new clothes and are trying to watch their money. Sales are always going on for those who need them and you get decent clothes for the money that you pay. read more

Who knew you could find some great deals here?! I am obsessed with the Lauren Conrad line and found so many goodies! I hit the clearance rack and it was actually organized with all the clothing on hangers (no clothes on the floor or over the racks, like ROSS). The fitting room was clean and spacious. And the register person was super friendly; greeted me with a warm smile and made small talk. Who ever the Manager is for this store deserves 5 stars for training their staff well. I am not a huge fan of Kohls for my own personal clothing, however I do love the entry line of Vega Wang undergarments. I like their selection of bed, bath items and kids clothing. Anyhow the Calvin location is always clean, organized and not crowded any day or time of the week.... The staff is helpful and friendly! I like have really great sale on their towels and bedding items through out the year... I bought Sonoma brand towels a year plus ago for $5/$6 bucks on sale and they have held up very nicely and were inexpensive. read more

Great place to shop, with tons of good pricing. Name brands at a great price. Only problem I have is finding help when I am in there. Once I find help everything is great but finding an employee is a bit difficult. The only area I have never had an issue with is the perfume and cologne section. Returning stuff is a nightmare! This place is way understaffed and there is no one there to help you when you need it. I recently bought a shirt that I thought was cute at the store. When I brought it home, I realized that there was a hole in the back of it. I went back and it took me 1 whole hour just to return one shirt. For one, let me start by saying that I used to work for Kohl's so I know what their standards are as far as customer service goes and quality of work from their associates. While I was in the store, I saw a total of two p.o.s. associates, one jewelry associate and a manager in the entire store. I couldn't find a single person on the actual floor. Part of their customer service policy is that all associates, including management/supervisors, must "smile and say hi" to every customer that walks by them or even acknowledge the customer in some way. There was a manager/supervisor on the sales floor in the juniors department putting away some merchandise and he didn't even look up at me or even acknowledge me in any way. I also wasn't acknowledged by the p.o.s. associate when I walked in, she just looked up from what she was doing and that was it. While shopping, I was in the shoe department looking for some new running shoes. And I found a pair or New Balance that I liked, but wasn't able to find my size. I walked around the shoe department and looked around in the nearby housewares and mens department and wasn't able to locate a single employee to ask if they could check their stock room to see if they had any back there. Since the only person that I did see on the sales floor was the manager/supervisor I walked up to the department I last saw him and he was no where to be found. So, I ended up finding a different pair in my size. I do like the pair that I found, but had to spend $5 for them all because I couldn't find someone to check if they had any in the back for the ones that I went in there for. Not only that, the department was a complete and total mess. There was shoes and boxes all over the floor and they weren't very organized. It looked as if they just took a bunch of shoes of the same brand and threw them up onto the shelves. The only reason for my two star rating is because of the p.o.s associate that rang up my purchase. She was the only person who acknowledged me while I was in the store. Once when I was walking by her on my way from the women's athletic section to the shoe department and again when I was approaching her to pay from my items. If you want better service and cleaner Kohl's store, I would suggest driving on over the the Kohl's on Elk Grove Blvd and Bruceville. read more

This place is a hit or a miss. It all depends on when you go. I was here a few days ago with my husband and the place was a bit messy but clean at the same time. There were a good amount of customers but by no means busy. Yet, it was lacking employees on the floor. We had to walk around the whole store and thank goodness we ran into Christine. She must be the only employee working on the floor since she was the same employee that helped my husband find a couple of items we needed about a month ago. They really need to add more employees on the floor! Anyways, she just finished with a customer in the makeup area and walked with us to the kiosk to help us order some items and thankfully she said she saw the kids dresses we wanted in store and went to check the sizes, came back and gave it to us. She didn't want us to walk back and forth and told us to wait. She is so considerate. I really appreciated the effort she put in. I am confused as to why I wasn't able to order the dresses for pick up if they had it in store. They need to update their system! If it wasn't for Christine, I would have given this place a 4 stars but she put in too much effort to not give full stars. read more
