Like, the salad was ready for prom. The sushi itself? Serviceable but unremarkable. My husband ordered the Sweet Potato Roll, Rainbow Roll, and Godzilla Roll--a solid trio on paper, but they all kind of blurred together in practice. Not bad, just... unmemorable. Would we return? I hope they take this as an opportunity to improve. I recently tried the new poke bowl on the menu. I was VERY excited when I saw a sign that they offer poke bowls, but a bit disappointed when they did not have all the standard poke bowl toppings. No seaweed salad, pickled carrots, etc. The poke bowl was $15 - and while the flavor was good it lacked the full experience and was way too small for the price. The poke bowl place in Lexington serves a large size for only $13 and it's at least double this size, maybe triple the size. I desperately want Koi Express to offer the same style bowl as Miyako for a reasonable price. I would pay $15 happily if it was enough to fill me up and had all the topping choices. So please keep serving poke bowls - just make them a bit bigger and provide the toppings. I can't justify paying $15 for the version that is currently offered. You also need a different style bowl to serve these in - not practical for mixing. I'll be trying the ramen soon.
