a plate of sushi and a bowl of sauce

Weird experience...we passed by but had literally no customers even though there's a lot of tables. The do have a steady flow of takeouts but we were the only customer for dine-in. Two staff and they were polite but not attentive at all. They just kept chatting and after handing us the menu they never came, it's as if they were hiding from us. We had to stand up and go call them. After they quickly ordered and left. Not rude but not at all welcoming. Feels like they were indifferent about us coming in as dine-in customers. Even when we needed to pay bill we had to stand and call them again as we have been disregarded the whole time. Portion was decent but flavour were on the heavier side and not authentic at all. The sauce they use were probably cheap as they are very gooey. Tastes okay but not a place I'd ever go back to

A place that promotes an affordable menu right off the bat. If you're just interested in good deals, this is one place you can consider. It's not amazing, but it's not too bad either. Just standard Japanese fare. I got the tuna goma-ae the first time I came here and I loved it. Beautiful and delicious. The second time, I got the Box A bento which had a lot of variety for ~$10. I was on the fence with the beef teriyaki though, got a bit too chewy at some parts. Nothing really stood out, but it was very filling. The ladies here were nice. They seem to have a steady flow of business during these times too.

Came here for lunch, it wasn't busy at all. Ordered the Tonkatsu meal and it came relatively fast. It looked good but after my first bite, it was dry. Felt like it was precooked and then reheated. Maybe it was an off day? I would most likely not recommend this place. Maybe this is why it's not busy firing lunch time. At checkout, the guy was busy talking to his friend on his airpod and didn't bother to greet me. Not the best service either.

Worst Philadelphia in town. 30 minutes later and I'm still waiting for them to bring my Oshi... that came wrong!

Lovely place. 7.95 three roll menu is their poster child. Great for the price. Recommend. Now they have bubble tea and deserts.

We come here for the mix and match menu. It's a great value. The service is good too, never have to wait long for tea refills.

For $26, you receive six large pieces of California Roll, eight small pieces of Dynamite Roll, three salmon maki and three tuna maki, chicken karaage and mini salad. The sushi was of good quality and had a good taste in my opinion. The salad was seasoned with a nice dressing but I passed on the chicken Karaage because I'm eating gluten free. Bonus-The restaurant had GF soy sauce! Yay! For this price point, at dinnertime, I thought this was a steal of a deal!

I really like their teishoku (set meal) options! I got a combo set that comes with both chirashi don and udon, plus a small side salad and three pieces of tempura for $27.95. The sashimi was super fresh, and even the salad greens were crisp with zero bad leaves. The rice in the chirashi don was delicious, it's sprinkled with a layer of furikake which makes it so easy to eat. The fish slices were a bit thin, but since you get 5 or 6 different kinds plus some fish roe, I can't complain. The presentation of the whole chirashi don was adorable, complete with a tiny edible (?) flower on top! The interior is super comfortable and feels spacious, even though seating is a bit limited. They were doing great business for lunch, literally packed the entire time! This was my first visit, but I definitely wouldn't mind stopping by again if I'm in the area to try their other dishes. Recommended!

My friend and I were intrigued by the Watashi Special One Meter Roll Combo for Two and also ordered the Assorted Sashimi. For 28.95, the one meter roll was visually impressive - we each got to try one piece of 10 different rolls (chef's choice of chef special rolls and aburi). And it wasn't like they were lazy and chose rolls with the same fillings and just changed the toppings - there was a nice variety of both the sushi and topping. My only feedback would be for them to explain or provide an explanation of which rolls were provided so next time I can order them directly! The assorted sashimi (also chef choice) were delish as well - I believe we got walu/butterfish, salmon toro, ika slices, along with the usual salmon, two types of tuna, hamachi and hokkigai. Both of these dishes were about $30 each and amazing value. These days I'm less about the quantity consumed and more about variety, which generally comes with a higher price tag. At watashi, I was equal parts full and satisfied by the different flavours at a very reasonable price tag. Hidden gem for sure! One uncomfortable observation was a customer on the other side of the store talking on the phone and cutting her fingernails at her dining table.... I feel like the employees should have stopped that behaviour because its quite unsanitary. Luckily we had already finished eating at that point.

The space is small and airy, nicely decorated. The food comes really quick. Their menu has sushi, rice bowls and udons. It's a small menu but everything is good. I had the Salmon Zuke. Raw salmon, 6-7 pieces each one quite substantial, laid on top of rice dome, with egg yolk on top of volcano, and pickled onions. I LOVE the combo of egg yolk and pickled onions - I haven't had this before and the flavour really really works. It leaves a delightful aftertaste in my mouth too. It's not that much food but really really good. Also has a piece of deep fried seaweed or something which really complements the rice. My wife's truffle mushroom udon looks like a work of art. The garnish in the middle was pretty impressive and I tasted the sauce which was good. Also tried a little of the pork miso. Nice flavours and the crispy garnish really works. In addition, we tried their Tomato Prawn and the Matcha Strawberry Swirl. The tomato Prawn dish was hands down the best dish. The Truffle Mushroom Udon had a lot of umami flavour which I didn't mind, but my partner found it a bit overpowering. All the other side dishes on the tray were great. The Matcha Strawberry Swirl was quite sweet in my partner's opinion, but I didn't mind the sweetness. There was definitely more strawberry flavour than matcha which was unfortunate because we really wanted the taste the matcha as well. Overall, staff was very nice and service was quick. It was very cozy, warm, open concept where you can see the chef, and a welcoming environment.
