Hands down our new favorite spot for Sushi on the shore. We are picky on our sushi and so far Yuko Maki has been mouthwatering tasty, breathtaking presentation and so far a decent wait time for pick up and delivery. We mostly eat veggie rolls due to my crab allergy. Living dangerously haha. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our go to is the Sushi Special avo rolls x3, Prawn and Yam Tempura (6 pcs), Super Combo and everything else we try outside our bento box. This order: - Prawn and Yam Tempura (6 pcs) - Always comes just perfect and haven't had any soggy issues yet. - Sushi Special (Avocado Roll (3)) - Always decent avocados for our ava rolls!! No teeth breaking avocadoness yet (keep up the good work)!! - Golden Roll - this one is like dessert omg the cream cheese avocado and the deepfriedness in one!!!! - Super Combo (pick 3 small mini meals or items) best deal for trying items!! * Small Chicken Teriyaki with Rice - chicken is great almost like an airfyedness to it crispy skins * Small Beef Teriyaki with Rice - beef is cut thinly perfect and tastes delicious. The beef is not overly cooked and dried out like 711 beef jerky. Taste marinated and soo good. That sauce is something else!! * Chicken Nuggets - these are good and remind me a lot like dry ribs just saying lol haha. - Mango Avocado Roll - The mango with the avo is just like a dance of citrus, earthy and buttery like taste in your mouth.

After a grind session at grouse mountain hunger strikes me and my friend. So we deiced to take a wondering adventure along central Lonsdale ave to find the perfect healthier meal choice, even though my friend wanted MacDonald. We pass many places that seen open but empty (my number one rule: if the places it empty don't go eat there I eat by that rule) Having stop at a two Mediterranean places to get some bake goods, we finally came across a place call Yuko Maki Japanese Restaurant. From the outside the place seem really busy but not too busy that you cant get a table. Upon entering we find this place to be really big, they have even have a sushi bar. We were seated right away (I though there was a bit of a wait, but those people standing there where just ordering take out). the waitress brought us the menus and the tea right away. After having a look at the colourful yet simple menu, I order there special combination C and a side of Gomae special combination C: -California roll & spicy tuna roll -chicken Teriyahki & Udon The food arrive in a timely manner. The first thing I notice was the Gomae was really rich in peanut butter. Second: The chicken Teriyahki being on sprouts instead of rice.(healthy) Third: The Udon was in a soup broth that had little to almost no sodium, but still had a little bit a flavor still(less sodium the better, most places load there broth up with salt). The California & spicy tuna roll was very flavorful. Overall the food was very good here and the price was really a bang for your buck, there is service was very prompt(no wonder there so busy). so weather your looking for a place to eat after a good workout or just happen to be in the area this places is a must. This places get my two chopsticks up

North Van Sushi place perfect for those wanting " Sushi on a Budget". Ordered the 3 item combo ( cali roll? spicy shrimp and yam tempura), the service was a bit slow (apparently thats the norm). Food was decent considering it was definitely budget conscious. Loved the Salmon Sashimi as the portion was amazing!! huge slabs which I shared with my partner. Overall would go back( ( parking can be tricky so we parked in the back alley). Chinese runned and owened if that makes a different. We heard the sashimi portions have gone smaller by a significant size recently :( . This place is comparable to Sushi Town/ Sushi Garden maybe one step lower then them haha.

Looking from outside it doesn't really make you want to go inside, however it is pretty neat and clean! The food is good and the price is great ! You can have a great food for less than 10 dollars!

The Miso Soup not only had a terrible smell but an odd unnatural aftertaste. Gross! Comes to mind. Salmon Avocado: Proportionality of ingredient ratios was completely off and amateur. ( See pic.) The sticky rice was also overcooked. Yes, you can overcook sticky rice. Dynamite Roll: I don't know what to say....it didn't look or taste like a Dynamite Roll. Tasteless, stingy and proper Dynamite Roll ingredients missing ( see pic.) Avocado Roll: Well....it was avocado rolled in overcooked rice. Moving on.... They got the most basic Sushi menu items wrong. So truly even the 1 Star is for the polite lady that took my order over the phone. She was nice and professional. And I could understand what she was saying. So, that's good.
