    Tuna crunch roll
    Becky M.

This sushi spot serves up some good variety of sushi rolls, has bento boxes, sashimi and other options, but it's food is average in comparison with all the other sushi restaurants out there. I ordered the crunchy tuna roll, which includes 8 fair-sized pieces, as well as the yam roll, which was a good size. Although, it was filling and tasted good, I thought around $15 was a bit steep for what I got. The sushi could be fresher. I was grateful that they came to refill our tea once. They are lacking in service. The server wasn't able to answer my questions about the food right away and wasn't very hospitable, which I believe is a required aspect in the service industry. I suggest if they want better tips (as indicated on their payment machine), they need to improve their service. Overall, it's a good enough place to get fair quality sushi.

Kojima Sushi was recommended by one of my friends, so we came here after watching Tenet. We had to wait just a bit before being seated, but it was quite comfortable inside. The tables are separated from each other and the service is responsive and considerate (in reciprocation). They were quite busy during dinner (as they have a lot of take-out orders), which is possibly why our bento box meals took a very long time to arrive (perhaps fifteen minutes), whereas my friend's maki and special rolls were quite prompt. I was not disappointed with the crispy chicken teriyaki skin, thick pieces of tuna and salmon sashimi, and tempting tempura. They are quite generous with the rice, although it is a bit dry for my taste. The California rolls are also tasty morsels despite not being my favourite maki. I'll have to dock them a star for the wait times and the location is somewhat remote, but it's a decent restaurant and I have no major complaints--four out of five.

Food on the Drive is quite abundant. Right down to the 2 sushi joints literally across the street from each other. Parking is available on the side streets, as well as in the metered spots out front. The layout is designed to maximize the seating, at the expense of the waiting area. Everyone piles into the narrow "corridor" behind the front door. There is also only 1 set of doors, so the place freezes whenever someone enters or leaves. There is a sushi special, which is 3 items and a miso soup for $6.25. Most standard rolls are there, as well as cones (there is no nigiri for this one). Not a bad deal, as the pieces are decent sized but not huge. You'll be mostly satisfied, but don't expect to be stuffed. BC roll - uses cooked salmon as opposed to skin. Not bad. Chopped scallop roll - nice minced pieces. No fishy smell. Dynamite roll - light on the batter (for the shrimp). Again, decent tasting. I also ordered a seared tuna. Oh this is good. Nice juicy pieces, with no batter. Special mention here. Guess the portion could be just a *bit* bigger, but this can be said for lot of dishes out there. Overall I was quite happy, and will definitely be back. Recommended.

I went here for a cheap sushi fix on the drive. $7.45 sushi special was major reason that got me wanting to go. What an unbeatable deal! I got BC rolls along with tuna and salmon maki (miso soup included). Service was fast. Food was good and filling. Very satisfying for the price. I've tried bento box previously it tasted alright. Wifi is available under #Telus.

Came here around 3pm Monday Oct 10/16 initially mistaked this location for the other "K" named sushi place on the east side of commercial (we were aiming for the greek place on the west side of the street but its closed today - Thanksgiving day). My boyfriend chose the bento box with chicken teriyaki and I the three item special with miso soup for $7.40. We shared a spinach gomae and a order od seares tuna (was the first food either of us had eaten today). Spinach gomae looked less than picturesque but as with all today, everything was wonderful and larger quantized. I would totally return.

For what it is, Kojima nails in. And then wraps it in rice and seaweed and served it to you fast and tasty for like $6.25. First of all, yes they have a crazy sushi deal. But venturing outside of their (comparatively good) special selections, you find things like the mango and avocado roll, or spicy pumpkin cream cheese roll, which are also cheap and awesome In fact, most things I've had here are cheap and awesome. And that's why I keep coming back.

I found myself on the Drive one Friday evening needing a quick pre-dinner snack. Kishimoto had a massive line so I headed north until something piqued my interest - or until I couldn't ignore my stomach grumblings anymore. Kojima looked to be almost full so I went in. I was also drawn in by the sign advertising $7 special for three different rolls or cones of your choice with a miso soup. Wallet-friendly? Check. Once inside, I perused the menu which had some decent options. As with many sushi joints, there's a big section dedicated to "specialty" rolls - you know, those giant rolls that have a weird combination of anything and everything in and on them. I decided to go with an erotic roll and a sunomono. The roll was basically a california roll with yam tempura inside, and salmon and avocado ontop. There wasn't anything sexy about it. I wasn't really blown away by the freshness but I did enjoy the yam tempura inside. My dining companions ended up with the chicken and beef bento boxes. These were pretty average in taste and size but for $10, you can't really complain. The restaurant itself is relatively bigger given the surrounding shops. There's seating for 30-40 people and adequately decorated. Service was friendly but a little slow as expected on a busy Friday evening. Kojima is a good place if you're looking for a quick cheap meal. Nothing really stood out to me and given the other choices along the Drive, I probably won't be back.

We were hanging out a nearby brewery and had a craving for some good Vancouver sushi, so we headed to The Drive to see what we could find. We ended up here at Kojima and were drawn in by their special ($6.95 for three rolls, including miso soup). We were quickly seated by a very friendly server, and after we decided what we wanted (we ordered two of the combos, plus a few extra pieces of nigiri) the food arrived quickly. The miso soup was hot and delicious, and the rolls were interesting and flavorful. The nigiri was very fresh. I have no complaints about this place, and would definitely go back again if we are in the area. While it was not the most exceptional sushi experience I've ever had, I thought it was good food for a great value.

Smiling and swift service, decent deals and food. Free tea! They brought it as soon as I sat down . Seems like the people there like their jobs, so that made me happy. I got the super all day special or something. $11.95 and I got an extra maki roll. So, 2 negitoro rolls, ebi sunomono, pork gyoza(5pc), and miso for a little over $15.

Good choice for really cheap sushi on the drive especially with the $6.25 deal where you can pick from a list of rolls. I ordered to-go and got a BC roll, spicy shrimp roll and negitoro maki. Seafood has a bit of a fishy taste, the rice is quite mushy and it is nothing impressive but a good price. Also got the spicy salmon sashimi and it was a small portion and did not have that korean-style flavour.

Solid, inexpensive sushi place on The Drive. Friendly service. Commercial Sushi down the road is better, in my opinion.

I counted maybe 36 seats. The interior is nice but generic enough to be just about any type of restaurant. The menu accessed via QR code. I ended up trying the following: - Assorted Tempura: Good. Light batter, but slightly overbrowned. - Miso Black Cod: Good. More elaborate presentation than most, but very small piece. - Salmon Belly Sashimi: Very good. Fresh and delicious. - Tom Special Roll Tray: Very good. A great way to sample all the different roll, all which are very good. I thought it was reasonably priced and could adequately feed 4 people. Service was very good. There are a LOT of staff, so we were constantly being checked on to make sure we were happy and got anything we needed. Overall a good meal. It doesn't classify as the best sushi in Vancouver, but I can see the quality-value ratio might be the best in the city. All the food was quite good and certainly not overpriced. I imagine the high staff count was due to the overwhelming amount of takeout orders. I would return.

My hubs and I vacationed in Vancouver a few weeks ago in late April. We had seen the long lines for dinner at Saku when we were here more than a year ago. So, we decided to give them a try for a late lunch around 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon. No wait. We got seated right away. We liked how spacious and airy the dining room was. Our wait staff were friendly and on point. They were considerate about answering our questions about the food and food allergies. I ordered the chicken thigh katsu ($26 Can) and my hubs got the chicken thigh curry ($28.50 Can). No dairy involved in either dish which I was happy about because I have challenges digesting milk protein. Yes, it's kinda pricey. Yes, it's totally worth it. The katsu is light, crispy, fried perfectly, not greasy, and comes with unlimited rice, miso soup, finely chopped cabbage salad, and an addictively delicious sesame dressing. My hubs' curry sauce was served on the side so he could pour out as much or as little as he wanted. All in all, it was a very pleasant and satisfying meal. Saku is top notch for katsu. You won't believe how good katsu can be until you try it.

Okeya Kyujiro is a Michelin one-star theatrical omakase restaurant, and when they say theatrical, they mean it! From the moment you're welcomed by smiling ushers in kimono to the closing tea ceremony, every movement feels intentional, precise, and elevated. The ambiance is serene and anticipatory. At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. When the final sip is taken, the bell chimes once more, the chefs and staff bow, and the screens close. It was a beautifully choreographed dining experience, perfect for marking a special moment, and one I'd gladly return to for the next celebration.

This is a more theatrical style so expect louder music and a more theatrical experience (eg one of the servers played the flute for the guests celebrating birthdays). I prefer a more intimidate and interactive style of omakase where you can talk with the chefs. This lunch also felt a little fast in terms of progression of the meal. Some of the dishes were very tasty while others didn't wow us. With drinks, we were quite full despite some reviews saying portion is on the smaller size. Our total was around $500 with drinks for 2 people. A really good experience for omakase, especially if you are looking for a unique experience though not my favourite one I've tried.
