This 5 star rating is ONLY for the taste and quality of the food. The restaurant facility would rate as a 1, surprised that the health department has not been alerted to the facility. The food was so delicious and fresh as long as you can overlook the dirty doors and restrooms that are shared with restaurant next door. I had the Bulgogi spicy pork over rice (5) that was very flavorful, with a fresh side salad and noodles. Delicious, with the just right amount of spicy. My husband had the Bibimop stone bowl with fresh vegetables topped with a fried egg (5). It came out on a wooden platter, in a stone bowl, sizzling from the kitchen. Serving sizes were plentiful, we took leftovers, making the price value very reasonable. I would return getting take out but my husband said he would not come back (the mens restroom cured him). This place is authentic and so delicious! First time I've ever seen miso soup on tap. It's there to serve yourself, drink as much as you want. Included in your meal. All you can drink miso soup!!! They source the ingredients out of state to get the freshest possible (Vegas actually). I'd be here all the time in the Winter if I lived closer just for the miso soup. Can you tell I love it so much they put a pot on my table! The spicy grilled pork is delicious. They brought me spices but it was perfect as it is so I didn't add anything. I'm not super familiar with Korean food but it's so fresh and flavorful. My nose is running a little. It's super close to BYU campus and Provo High in that weird stretch that Leatherby's used to be. I miss Provo on days like today. There's a lot more ethnic places like this here. My favorite Asian market is long gone but I have delicious memories of the best Cuban, Chinese, Mexican and American food. I miss the Tortilla Bar! Koko Lunchbox is a tasty little quick-serve restaurant that's less than five minutes away from Brigham Young University! For locals, the food is quite similar to that of CupBop, another Korean joint that's rapidly gaining popularity in Utah. The prices are pretty standard, around $7-$11 depending on what you're in the mood for. I ordered the Sweet Bulgogi Beef plate, and helped myself to some complimentary miso soup (which was delicious, by the way) while I waited. My food came out piping hot about ten minutes after I ordered, accompanied by some tasty sauce toppings in squeeze bottles. I topped my plate with the sweet mayo, spicy mayo, spicy sauce, and sweet Korean sauce, and it was absolutely delicious! Unlike CupBop, Koko's lets you design the plate to your liking, which was a really nice touch. The bulgogi beef itself was delicious, and served with roasted cabbage and onions over rice. I really love all of the veggies they included in this dish- it really made it stand out from other Korean restaurants I've visited. Alongside the beef and rice, the dish was served with sweet potato glass noodles and a cold salad. The salad was the perfect addition and tasted great with the warm beef and rice! The noodles, however, were relatively undercooked and didn't have a whole lot of flavour. That's my only real complaint about the dish- everything else was really good! All in all, I would definitely recommend Koko Lunchbox to lovers of Korean barbecue and newbies alike. They have a relatively diverse menu and even serve a couple different ramen dishes, both of which looked delicious. Not authentic Korean enough for me. I lived in Korea for two years and I've been back once for a monthy. Pibimpop with chopped lettuce instead of cooked and seasoned spinach is a complete cop-out in my book. Actually all the vegetables in it were a disappointment. Real Bibimpop has real banchan side dishes, which leads to another disappointment: The only side dish available is Kimchi. Two more Pibimpop problems: The stone bowl was only warm. It should be hot enough to crisp the rice touching it. The meat was ground beef! Real stuff is beef pulkogi. The number of shortcuts was overwhelming disappointing. What's with the beef and pork pulkogi being the same spice level? Pork is always hotter. And the meat was in small sections, not the true thin sliced that is typically longer. If you love Korean food and you're on campus and don't have time to go anywhere else, then maybe, but there's got to be a better place in UT County. There certain are better places in SLC, Davis, and Weber. read more

And when I think of beef bulgogi, no matter what Korean restaurant I've been to I get this delicious thinly sliced cut beef. So, when I saw that the bulgoi was ground beef, I was a tad unsure. I tried my best to give it a chance but in the end, I couldn't eat more than a few bites of it. All-in-all I didn't enjoy my meal, and that could be attributed to the fact that I'm just not a fan of ground beef. The kimchi fried rice is beyond delicious - I can't even think about it, or I find myself driving there to get it. I have not tried any of the beef dishes, including Bibimbap, because I don't eat too much beef. But I'm considering trying the Bibimbap here because everything else is good. The service has always been friendly, helpful, and quick. Location makes it easy to get in and out without any hassle. Even when it's crowded there's plenty of parking and tables inside. Pro tips: (1) don't pay $1 extra for the salad (box). It's good, but it's really only lettuce; and (2) ask it they have any specials that aren't on the menu. They usually do. Really tasty food, very reasonably priced, good-sized portions. All in all, no complaints here, especially after we went to Sam Hawk up the road and waited at our table for 20 minutes without any acknowledgement or service. When we showed up here, it was a breath of fresh air to get quick, attentive service. Food was out within 5 minutes of ordering. I got the stone bowl bibimbap. DELISH. My husband got the bulgolgi and pork combo. I thought the pork was much better seasoned than the beef. Love that the bowls come with noodles and rice. Also, as a side note, we have a little baby who was not happy sitting and waiting while we ate. As she got fussy, the ladies behind the counter asked if we would like them to tend her while we ate. Koko Lunchbox is a great little place. It is comparable to the famous Utah food truck, Cupbop, but I would say it is better. You get more food for the price, and there are also more options. I got the Spicy Pork (pork and noodles on a bed of rice.) I went for the box option, which is a dollar more than the bowl, and the only difference is you get a decent salad. I would suggest just going with the bowl. The pork was probably a five out of ten on the spicy scale, but it was a nine out of ten on the tastiness scale. I hesitate giving a five star review, because nothing really blew my mind, but everything was more than just good--hence the four stars. I definitely plan on coming back to try the other menu items. It's conveniently located close to BYU campus, and it satisfies my Asian food cravings. Yay! read more

Korean food is definitely picking up here in Provo! And you know what I like about it all? They are all being different! Cupbop is about the sauce. They are all about adding a certain notch of spice depending on who you are. KoKo is about the flavor of what they give you. It's nothing crazy with sauces and such, but just well made Korean food. I don't think the pricing for the "ramen" was worth it honestly. **So there's an E. coli outbreak on the romaine lettuce, and I was surprised they were serving it to us.
