My friend and I came in on a Friday night around diner time and neither of us had done Korean BBQ before so we were hoping to ask our server about what was best. The service was a little distant - like we tried to ask for recommendations and guidance and it was awkward. We were able to figure it out though. I'm not sure who our server was because 3 people were kinda helping us but wouldn't say anything or verbally check in. Other than the weirdness there - the food was good quality and quantity for what we paid which was exciting! I was nervous we were going to break the bank but we each got a single serving of the meat options and a side dish and it was plenty of food. Food was fine, I was underwhelmed however if the service had been better I think we would've enjoyed the food more. It was our first time here and Mikila was our server. We told her more than once we've never been to place like this. After asking several questions because she was hard to get any information out of, our meat arrived and we sat for several minutes because we didn't know what to do. No stove was on and there was multiple cooking utensils different colors that probably served a purpose but we were never told. After a couple Minutes we asked a bus boy to come light our stove which he did and walked away still giving no instructions. So we threw the meat on and ate it. They brought out a couple sample appetizers which we were also given no instructions but asked and was very minimal info which is very odd to be eating six foreign food and have no clue as to what it was. Ambiance was nice and I was excited to have a fun date doing something different but meet frustrated with our experience and I desire to come back. Our server had minimal service , how ever she was very nice. But at a place like this you need someone who's gonna be more clear on instructions and food items! Service was wonderful. The waiter was very kind, attentive and helpful. Ambience was nice, it was clean, nicely decorated. The food was yummy overall. It came out very quick. There were a lot of options for meat. The picture of the shrimp was deshelled but they brought out whole shrimp which was disappointing. They didn't serve kimchi and other sides unless asked. Their sauce option was extremely limited so I felt like a lot of my food was dry. Their ram-don dish was very bland. Their fried chicken was rock hard and had very little meat inside. Second time here and definitely not disappointed. All of the meat is fresh and good quality. Absolutely loved the appetizers specially the goyza and Korean fried chicken . We opted for all beef choices and one shrimp selection and all were delicious. For $39 a person you do get a lot of food so go hungry. They do have a time limit of an hour and half which is kind of annoying because the staff is a little on the slow side. The first time we went we waited nearly fifteen minutes before anyone showed up and we had no clue what was going on. There are no menus, you just scan the code on the table. You also don't have to choose all you can eat, they do offer other options. Lunch time is $35 per person, same menu options. I did enjoy the food and the whole experience but I was a little disappointed with the staff. You don't get that warm fuzzy feeling. I also wished they would tell you what each dish was in case you wanted to order more, all raw meat looks the same to me. I would definitely go back and absolutely recommend this place . read more

I'm glad there's a Korean BBQ place that has the option to not order all you can eat. You can order the dishes by the plate so you don't have to over order or over eat. My mom, sister, & I ate plenty of food for $40 total bill rather than $30-$40 per person. Good food and good service. Highly recommend beef short ribs and beef bigogi. The tofu soup and salad was a miss. I don't recommend ordering that. read more

I would like to star by saying that the services was fantastic. The options for meats was amazing. There was something for everyone in our family. I really liked the spicy pork bulkogi and the side pork. My children loved the beef bulkogi and my husband liked the rib eye. The food was just okay. The service so-so! What I didn't appreciate is that they basically require you to pay a 19.5% tip! I get it if you're there with a large party of 10+ people, but there were only five adults in our party! In addition, when you get the receipt to sign - lo and behold - there's still a line for a tip! I wonder how many people end up paying a tip twice! The most amazing service. It actually felt like they were genuinely happy to welcome us , which is always refreshing. We went to KOU BBQ Orem today. Brandon the server was excellent as usual. We told Brandon to inform the kitchen to cook the ramdon dryer which it was better than before. It still has room for improvement. The service was timely and delightful. When we asked for the preserved daikon that has no additional spices, Brandon went to get us some. The restaurant ambiance was great for Korean bbq. The branch manager, Jun, is as usual very cordial and friendly. We loves the different types of steaks, kalbi ribs, canjun belly pork, shrimps, calamari, spicy baby squids, spicy porks and the cow tongues. read more
