Nice place delicious food , I like the beef kebab and chicken kebab also , the service was so good. I will be here more often

I and my husband travel internationally, to countries with great food. We are extremely finicky eaters. Since last summer we have been dining at Koko's each weekend. The place is quite plain but pleasant, with terrrific air-conditioning for the valley heat. Service is always warm and accomodating. The owner, Eli, is an experienced chef. His food is consistently well-seasoned, thus flavorful. We've never had to put up with bland food. And the meat is always cooked as per our request, and succulent. Amongst the starters, we love the creamy 'Moutabal'/Baba Gannoush, made of smokey eggplant and tahini base. Lamb tongue (slices, and cold) is decadent. Mediterranean salad is good. Our weakness is the Falafel plate. Simply cannot resist the intense seasoning and crispness of these morsels. Coupled with grilled pita, tahini sauce, and salad, it almost makes a whole meal for me! But then, we can't pass up on those entrees! We both love the tender and moist lamb chops. The quality of the meat is much better than that served at most of those famous middle eastern restaurants around the valley and Glendale. It is served with a side of their simple but delicious rice which we cannot stop eating. A downfall to our low-carb diet! Sometimes my husband deviates to the lamb shish kebab; and me, to the 'Khash Khash Kebab', which is lule kebab on a bed of (sort of) conift of garlic, grilled onions and tomatoes. Delicious! We have succumbed to finishing with their homemade deserts. We love the 'Arabic custard' There is live music on Saturday nights, so reserve your table. Sunday nights Koko's is closed a earlier in the evening. read more

Hands down, one of the best middle eastern restaurant in the valley!!! I say that with so much passion because not only the food is great but the atmosphere and the owners are great people! Everytime I walk in I am welcomed with open arms. Feels like it's home away fro Home. They had the best kebab( meat) and they're hamus is delicious. Every Friday my parents and I are there. This place can be expensive for takeout or for lunch and that was one of the things that kind of made us hesitate ordering from here but a friend recommended their lunch take out special which meant only $8.99 for lunch. Perfect. Tried it and was very happily impressed. Salad was different. Rice was special and amazing and the meat was good too. Overall a very delicious place. Why not 5 stars. I don't know, i think maybe if they had more affordable lunch choices i would be happier. I think its good dinner prices but the decor isn't very date worthy. Still great cooks. read more

Ok here's one for ya'... So, you're in the mood for a quick kebab fix and you just wanna' call in your order? Go to Koko's. It's that simple! The servers and cashiers are very nice people. Koko is usually in the back running his place, using his grilling tactics to do what he does best while he actually will cook your meats the way you ask for it. Medium rare means "medium rare." They don't fool around at this place. The menu is great. They do not serve sandwiches on weekends because, as I was told, the pita bread won't be freshest. What does that tell you? Hey, if it won't be the best we won't serve it to you. Plain and simple. If you're in the valley and you want great kebabs? Go for it at Koko's. Whether you wanna' dine in, take out, or phone your order(s) in , this is the place. Their fries are great too. read more

Since the new owners have taken over the prices have gone up a little. The quality of food is really good, and the staff is super friendly. I just wish their prices hadn't gone up or else we would be there every payday! read more

Solo lunch, smelled like cleaning supplies when I walked in, debated leaving, thought back at all the places abroad in Eastern Europe... and stayed. Service was really friendly atmosphere is ok mid day on a Saturday. Great for a guy by himself, food... Remarkably good! 4 stars not 5 only because of the smell, which I eventually got used to, and to be fair for where it is. Would definitely go back... Hopefully the smell was a one time occurrence. This review is only for there falafels because thats the only thing I order whenever I come. They are the best I ever had. They are fluffy, airy and fresh. They are dry not soggy, have great spice and taste awesome! The portion is very generous too! read more

Bad service! Didn't even get seated. They didn't even try to accommodate me with a table. They said all of their tables where reserved. I had my 4 year old son that was extremely hungry and they literally just let us Walk out. Not recommended.. read more

Place states that they close at 6pm, I called for a take out order at 5:25pm and they tell me they are closed because they have a lot of orders. What restaurant refuses business when they clearly state they are open until 6pm. The restaurant smells like an ashtray also, they must have parties there and allow smoking.. this restaurant has gone downhill in the last few years!!!! read more

Love this place! My favorites are the Rasnana, which is a minced meat with mint and garlic soaked in a lemon juice (To die forrrr!), and of course their Lamb which is always tasty and never dry. I can never get enough of their pickled cabbage, and radish. Hummus is always good, and if you want to be a little adventurous, I would give the Chicofta a try. This is a raw meat dish aka steak tartar. Other yummy items on the menu are the Koubbe (basically round fried dough balls filled with meat and pine nuts, tasty), Tabbouleh (a parsley salad with cracked wheat), and the Frog legs. :) read more

Came here on a Thursday afternoon for an early dinner before driving back to San Francisco. Ordered the Shish Kebab, which came with pita bread and plenty of lamb. I wasn't impressed with how well the lamb was cooked--honestly it was a bit difficult to chew sometimes. However, it was spiced wonderfully and the rice that came with our meals was delicious. Service is also friendly--my friends and I ended up staying for about two hours and we never felt pressured to leave (then again, it was 4pm on a Thursday). With so many restaurants in the area, however, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here again. read more

4.5 stars, coming from an all-world kabob eating armo. Went to kebab halebi, they were closed (at 7.30?) so this is pretty close mile-wise. It was very good. Apetizzies=fries thin and crisp Hummus=no taste whatsoever only negative; very bland (just bring a tub of trader joes metiderranean hummus youll thank me) tabouleh salad (parsley,onion,tomato finely diced) good splash of lemon. arayes (google it) was great, I love this armenian pizza anywhere I go. comp pickle tray and jalapeno peppers=nice to mix-in with meats khash-khash= 4 huge skewers of marinated long ground meat (grilled) with onion and tomato stew underneath, topped with pita=delish. Their beef shish is very tender but was very overcooked (almost chared) but still tasted good, or "hamov." We paid almost 40/person because we ordered lots of apetizzy. no alcohol. worth every penny, great meal. Couldnt sleep ate so much; flush with water day today. read more

I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to beef shish kabob. I am half Armenian and this place tastes like home to me ! Their beef shish kabob is well seasoned and melts in your mouth! Moutabal was fantastic! The koubbe was not my favorite (still searching for the best in the Valley), and I tried the chicken sandwich which was OK. It seemed a bit garlicky for me and my friend as well. The location is convenient, with a small parking lot. read more

The food wasn't all that bad, just not spectacular. The rice pilaf tasted old and made with bad tap water. You would think after several negative reviews regarding the female waiter that she could put a little more enthusiasm since ours also seemed also uninterested. I hope they can make some small adjustments to make me want to go back again. read more

The shish kebabs are the best. We tried the lamb, steak, chicken( both white and dark) and all of them were perfectly cooked, and very flavorful. The steak is actually filet minion and is as tender as could be. The grape leaves are fantastic, the only disappointment was they only brought us four, which seemed kind of expensive but the flavor made us forget about that The rice is the best I've ever had anywhere. Service was by far the worst. The restaurant had one server was was the cashier also. She never returned after taking our order to refill our tea or just to ask if everything was okay. Hefty portions of fresh, delicious food. They need my gay boys to give her a makeover and they'd easily be bumped to 4 stars. The food is 4 star. It's not outstandingly remarkable, like Kate Winslet, but it's really fresh and tasty, like Carey Mulligan. The standout was the pomegranate spreadyspread & ridiculously delicious baklava, which wasn't overly sweet & soaked in too much honey; but perfectly drenched and still crisp, not soggy. My husband and I eat at a lot of Middle Eastern restaurants. The first time we went to Koko's the food was very good. We ordered the whole fish which was good (but pricey), but even better with their special sauce. We also had the falafel which is more flattened with a little hole in the center, and it was tender inside and crispy outside. The hummus was also good and creamy. I did not give a high rating for this restaurant though, because we have been back to it several more times and the quality of the food has not been consistent. We ordered the falafel again, and it was too dense and oily. We also ordered a chicken dish this week and the meat was not of high quality. It definitely was not the same as our first experience. read more

I would give it 5 stars were it not for the service. I've been here 3 times because the lamb was so good the first time I went. I've gone back, both times and gotten it again, but the second time wasn't as good and it was overcooked the third time. Flavor was still good each time... The problem is that I went with a large-ish group and the service was more efficient and bossy than courteous. read more

This was a fantastic surprise! Ordered the Spicy Kanaha. It was excellent. Very tender, juicy, not too much spice. $20.00 for dinner, but the portions are generous.
