The line was moving pretty fast too and loved the recommendation. They have so many variety's of kolaches to choose from and the heat them up as you order. They have never gotten my order correct in the drive thru. Not. Once. Seriously, how difficult is it to simply hand me a sausage and cheese kolache? I don't think I'm asking for something difficult. If this was a one time thing, I wouldn't complain, but every Saturday they may add extra kolaches I didn't ask for (and charge me), or they give me the egg and cheese and not the sausage and cheese. My advice is if you need a kolache from here, go into the store and watch them put it in your bag. We gave up on this location and started driving to the Kolache Shoppe on I-10. It's a longer trek, but at least they get my order correct. read more

Im gobsmacked.......flabbergasted even. Kolache Factory ......hmmmm, that name is a stretchhhhhhh. First, none of the products look like kolaches. They are all square instead of the regular kolachr shape. They're are a bunch of employees putting out fresh products, which is good but it just doesn't seem there's much of anything. They are very busy though so kudos to them. Firstly, the fruit kolaches didn't have enough variety as I saw on their page and their were barely any. I wanted to try one but didn't like the ones I saw so I skipped them. I did get a cheese Danish kolache who's filling was a mix of cream cheese and cottage cheese. Ewwwww. It would have been good if they blended the cottage cheese so that it was smooth and not clumpy..... ewww. Plus, it lacked acid. I can't remember the price point but shouldn't be more than 99 cents. I also got a brisket and cheese kolache. It was fair. Nothing to write home about but something to write Yelp about. When I participate in consumerism, I would LOVE my purchases to be good. Delicious Kolaches! Perfect snack while driving :) I came to Houston on a short visit, and my aunt insisted that I try these kolaches before I leave. I ended up getting the breakfast kolaches with sausage, egg, and cheese, and they were DELICIOUS! THE DOUGH was the perfect consistency and the taste was on point! It reminded me of ones that I had in Louisiana. The workers were super nice, and the inside of the building is very clean! There was ample parking out front and great seating options indoors from hard tables to soft booths. Also, there's PLENTY of shopping available in the area if you wanted to shop around. Seriously, there is every store you can think of on this strip, including a whole foods, Ross, Target, Marshall's, every type of niche store you can think of. I will definitely be having more kolaches when I visit my aunt again soon! read more

Texas Hot used to be the best kolache anyone in America had , the main reason I would go, they switched it from beef to pork then it barely has any cheese now it's a big waste of money . Doesn't represent Texas at all. They just keep finding ways to go cheaper and save money but it's losing customers read more

I always go to the highway 6 one. Decided to try this today . I had a friend who had never tried kolaches. First of all he loved it. Nobody can hate kolaches . But bearing that in mind I will touch upon some things. 1. All kfactories follow a template pattern. But a drive through high opens at 5 am . Thumbs up 2. They run out of inventory pretty fast. I can't entirely blame it on location. I painfully realized they are not going to make new batches of certain items after 12 pm. 3.they have booth and tables which is great 4. Tried to order pizza kolache and the lady told us it was going to be 10 mins. We asked if we could wait and she told us no!!!! So we cancelled our order and went in. Asked for the manager and he seemed not to care that his employees were telling customers no. We asked again how long it would be and he told us 10 mins!!! New location, nicer inside seating, drive thru (!!), same excellent kolaches! Anytime I have to get my wife up before the crack of dawn to catch a flight or something I make sure to run to the Kolache Factory while she's in the shower to get her breakfast. It makes the grumpy go away! So when they closed the one just a few blocks from my house I was horrified! What now? How do I soothe the savage morning beast at 5am!? Then I saw it had re-opened in it's new location just outside the Beltway. Whew! Same great kolaches, same friendly staff and now a drive thru! I do agree with a couple reviews that the drive thru's location is unfortunate. Don't pull into the far west entrance to the parking lot but the one closer to the Beltway or you'll get jammed up in one hellova mess with everyone else trying to jockey into the thing. There is a back way into the lot from Rogerdale I discovered which makes it easier than fighting Westheimer. Turn left into the drive after the ugly blue apartments on Rogerdale and right behind the church into the strip center lot. I love the sausage and cheese ones, the bacon and the ranchero kolaches too. But get a fruit one every now and then for something sweet and tasty. Make sure they heat it a bit. read more

Came here early in the morning & bought a dozen hoping to get fresh hot kolaches given it was about 8 am they should be hot. The kolaches were cold & had to take them home & warm them up myself which was very inconvenient. But overal the kolaches were good but not the best. My husband and I tried the ham and cheese, sausage egg and cheese, jalapeno and cheese, and the polish hot. Ham and Cheese and Sausage Egg and Cheese: They were descent except for the fact that there was barely any cheese Jalapeno and cheese: missing the cheese, way too spicy, and you could barely taste the breading Polish Hot: Very spicy and the sausage was too dense (more like a hot dog) Overall, we won't be coming back. There are better places in Houston that sell kolaches. read more

The good: The kolaches are pretty not bad. I'm from the midwest and had never heard of a kolache. My first kolache in Texas was from Shipley and it was divine. The bad: After this place opened in my neighborhood I was excited. Then promptly disappointed. Everything was lukewarm and much smaller than a Shipley kolache. Note: I have no affiliation with Shipley. The ugly: The last time I went was on a Sunday morning. All items were under heat lamps. I asked for four of whatever it was I ordered because everything looked delicious. "Would you like me to warm these up for you?" Uh, ok. And then my order was shoved into the microwave. Ok no, you're a restaurant and have zero need for heat lamps that apparently don't work and should never have a microwave. I'd feel sorry for the drive-thru customers that don't know what they're really getting, but every place that has a drive-thru speeds things up by nuking what could have been good food. I got the Cream Spinach, its nth like the fresh cream spinach i eat on kirby this one was dry and only a small amount of it in the middle of the doe so bad! Kolaches are awesome 5 star breakfast, service 2 star,so average that to 3. They run out of certain ones every day. I understand wanting to lower waste but when it's the same one every day make more, duh. Employees seem unconcerned with waiting customers. I say hire less people that are more attentive. The staff is unprofessional, unfriendly and unhelpful. I ordered 2 sausage and cheese kolaches. One was fine and the other was only sausage. I went to the counter and she said, "ya that happens sometimes. If I give you another it will just be the same." I said the first one was fine. I pulled the sausage out and showed her no trace of cheese. Her reply was silence and then, "ya they just put a little bit" and then more silence. No apologies, no solutions, no reparations, nothing. I have overlooked this locations other flaws because of convenience. But, your feet stick to the floor as you walk in. The tables are hardly ever wiped down after the last patrons. It seems that management is either not present or doesn't care. It's a shame because I love kolaches. I will travel the extra mile to go the Briar Forest location. read more
